The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim, Because it was grassy and wanted wear; Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.

The charge of the light brigade, by Alfred, lord tennyson
Half a league, half a league, Half a league onward, All in the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. "Forward, the Light Brigade! "Charge for the guns!" he said: Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred.
"Forward, the Light Brigade!" Was there a man dismay'd? Not tho' the soldier knew Someone had blunder'd: Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die: Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them Volley'd and thunder'd; Storm'd at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of Hell Rode the six hundred.
Flash'd all their sabres bare, Flash'd as they turn'd in air, Sabring the gunners there, Charging an army, while All the world wonder'd: Plunged in the battery-smoke Right thro' the line they broke; Cossack and Russian Reel'd from the sabre stroke Shatter'd and sunder'd. Then they rode back, but not Not the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon behind them Volley'd and thunder'd; Storm'd at with shot and shell, While horse and hero fell, They that had fought so well Came thro' the jaws of Death Back from the mouth of Hell, All that was left of them, Left of six hundred.
When can their glory fade? O the wild charge they made! All the world wondered. Honor the charge they made, Honor the Light Brigade, Noble six hundred.

I have never seen a wild thing feel sorry for itself. A little bird will fall dead, frozen from a bough, without ever having felt sorry for itself.

second one was hard to get, but here we got to revive the topic!
TS Eliot - The Hollow Men
A penny for the Old Guy
I
We are the hollow men We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw. Alas! Our dried voices, when We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry grass Or rats' feet over broken glass In our dry cellar
Shape without form, shade without colour, Paralysed force, gesture without motion;
Those who have crossed With direct eyes, to death's other Kingdom Remember us - if at all - not as lost Violent souls, but only As the hollow men The stuffed men.
II
Eyes I dare not meet in dreams In death's dream kingdom These do not appear: There, the eyes are Sunlight on a broken column There, is a tree swinging And voices are In the wind's singing More distant and more solemn Than a fading star.
Let me be no nearer In death's dream kingdom Let me also wear Such deliberate disguises Rat's coat, crowskin, crossed staves In a field Behaving as the wind behaves No nearer -
Not that final meeting In the twilight kingdom
III
This is the dead land This is cactus land Here the stone images Are raised, here they receive The supplication of a dead man's hand Under the twinkle of a fading star.
Is it like this In death's other kingdom Waking alone At the hour when we are Trembling with tenderness Lips that would kiss Form prayers to broken stone.
IV
The eyes are not here There are no eyes here In this valley of dying stars In this hollow valley This broken jaw of our lost kingdoms In this last of meeting places We grope together And avoid speech Gathered on this beach of the tumid river
Sightless, unless The eyes reappear As the perpetual star Multifoliate rose Of death's twilight kingdom The hope only Of empty men.
V
Here we go round the prickly pear Prickly pear prickly pear Here we go round the prickly pear At five o'clock in the morning. Between the idea And the reality Between the motion And the act Falls the Shadow For Thine is the Kingdom Between the conception And the creation Between the emotion And the response Falls the Shadow Life is very long Between the desire And the spasm Between the potency And the existence Between the essence And the descent Falls the Shadow For Thine is the Kingdom For Thine is Life is For Thine is the
This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends This is the way the world ends Not with a bang but a whimper

Now I cannot resist.
"Serpentine"
See the dogs come running Smelling blood now To an open sore On a parasite Countless hearts have fallen Hard to number Damnation’s whore Is looking for a victim tonight With an angry soul And a wicked design Your will cannot endure And your heart is torn away
[Chorus:] I was caught up in the moment You were alone and You seemed to harness the light Even though I felt cold inside When you told me it would be alright I had given up control and I didn’t focus hard enough to see The warning signs Your heart is serpentine
Damn what I’m becoming One of them now Just an opened door On an endless night Dark desire burning In my blood now How can I be sure? I don’t know if I’ll be able to fight With a tortured soul And an honest design My will cannot endure If my heart is torn away
[Chorus]
Now that I’ve been torn apart Will there be an end to this? Will there finally be release? Will I finally rest in peace? I’m determined to believe My prayers will be received With a tortured soul And an honest design My will cannot endure As my heart is torn away
[Chorus]
The warning signs Your heart is serpentine Evil personified Your heart is serpentine

More boredom
Day by day my life gets colder My ice grows thin, as I get older Peace in peaces, bloody and bruised I feel so helpless and confused
Cuz I hear screamin on the left yellin on the right I’m sitting in the middle tryin to live my life
Cuz I cant stop the war Shelter homeless, feed the poor I can’t walk on water I can’t save your sons and daughters I can’t change the world and make things fair The least that I can do The least that I can do The least that I can do is care courtesy of OriginaLyric.Info
I pray and pray for life’s salvation Faith is tried and true in tribulation Love is lost and lonely, check the news And with these open arms I’ll wait for you
Cuz I hear screamin on the left And yelling on the right Im sitting in the middle trying to live my life
Cuz I cant stop the war Shelter homeless, feed the poor I can’t walk on water I can’t save your sons and daughters I can’t change the world to make things fair The least that I can do The least that I can do The least that I can do is care
For the life of me, I can’t see how the devil keeps enticing me All u sees a felon, I know god can see whats right in me How I can be labeled as a villain in the first place When the worst case senerio is my birth place Im just tryin to keep from fallin victim to the murder rate Take my life lesson convincing the adolecents There’s a god up in heaven, sending down blessins And ur furture ain’t brighter than ur present Quit Stressin They re screamin on the left Yellin on the right While im sittin in the middle trying to live my life Cuz I cant stop the war Shelter homeless, feed the poor Cant walk on water I cant save ur sons and daughters I cant change the world to make things fair The least that I can do is care Yeah I cant stop the war Shelter homeless feed the poor I cant walk on water I cant save ur sons and daughters I cant change the world and make things fair The least that I can do The least that I can do The least that I can do Oh is CARE
