Rag, as I said mediclorians determine if you are force sensitive. If you have a high enough amount you are considered force sensitive, but it's been proven that medclorians do not designate how skillful you are in the force.
Thus TECHNICALLY Han solo could learn the force if he had ever cared to learn, and tried. Take note however that it is supposed to take YEARS to become a force user. For the Sake of RP however it's speed up, just like in the Kotor games.
So everyone is not force sensitive because they don't have a high enough mediclorian count however! this does not mean they cannot use the force! Most skillful Non force users use it on some basis or another without knowing it.

I'm considering making a character here, but before I do there are some things I need cleared up. I've tried doing a bit of my own research, but I can't find everything, so... 1. How did the Empire form? All of the other groups have some explanation for their existence, but the faction section just lists ranks for the Empire, not any actual background information. What is their connection to the Sith and/or Dark Jedi? When did it form? How? 2. Could any additional information on the Oracle be provided? It's mentioned in the faction thread, but no explanation of what it is, where it came from, or why it did what it did is provided. 3. Where does this RP begin to differ from cannon lore? Did the Yuuzhan Vong (probably mispelled) invade? If they didn't, why are there a number of weapons and units tied to the Vong available in the Galactic Store? That leads me to my next question... 4. How are the very different technologies used in the RP explained (i.e. Sith fighters being sold beside X-wings). Wouldn't the earlier technologies be so outdated as to be useless when compared to more modern weapons? Having such ancient technology also seems like it would cause lore concerns since an old interdictor cruiser isn't likely to survive 4000+ years of near-constant warfare in the galaxy. 5. In regards to new characters, can they begin with a bit of money? Taking on the galaxy with just my fists seems a bit daunting, and transport will be difficult without a ship. If a cash amount can't be provided, could we at least start with a basic blaster or vibro-blade and either a very shoddy space vessel or access to some form of public transportation? 6. I take it allies and companions have to be purchased from the store. How do we deal with apprentices or masters for Force users then? Presumably they would work together (well, Jedi would, anyway). Are they free? 7. Is there any way besides digging through page after page of material on your old site to find out major effects on the galaxy the RP has had so far? I remember someone mentioning something about Coruscant being badly damaged, but it didn't make a lot of sense without context. It will be difficult to roleplay accurately when I don't know the state of the galaxy. Sorry if any of these questions have really obvious answers that I should have seen. I tried to be thorough when looking over your site, but there's a lot of material here for a new person to process. Anyway, I look forward to hearing your response.

let me see if i can help you with some of this feli 1) Empire formed because a sith got control over the republic, and slowly slew the jedi from the inside out. He replaced the senate, along with a few other things, and anounced his alegiance durring an attack by the army of light, an old faction. 2) The oracle is the leader of the federation, one who was "voted" into office, last i heard, however, you'd have to talk to odan to get more info. 3) The site is way before the yhuuzhan vong, it being roughly 50 years after the mando wars. this is where it branches, because we do have references to the wars, and the time after them, however, we go with our own story line. ships, units, and all those things are added in depending on if the admins want them or not. while they are from way way in the future, we like to use them, because its better to have a selection, over just a handful of ships to chose from. 4) Most the tech we use, is durring kotor series, and sometimes later, however, we added in the future things for interesti, as i said earlier 5) for items, you are given any "equipment" you would like, blasters, vibro's and that stuff, all are gained through rping the aquiring of them. the only things you need spend creds on are ships, ground forces, such as soldiers, clones and droids. merely post in your profile that you have 10 lightsabers, 50 blasters, and 10 million grenades, and the only question you will get, is where are you carring them. 6)companions and allies? you can purchase troops, such as in the ground forces, or droid factories, you can purchase clones of yourself, however, masters, apprentices, companions, and allies would all be those who you rp with, unless you want to rp your individual soldiers as well as your main. 7) One good way is by checking out the site history thread, by clicking on the banner that says click here to learn our story. it is fairely up to date up until we swapped sites. You can also ask the people in the topic or what not. only thing we can say, is coruscant is a dark place, being sith centeral. Corellia is a torched wasteland, there isn't much left of myrkr, and the core and inner colonies are at war with the outer rim, being generally where the mandalorians are based. its all good about the questions, if you didn't ask them, it would not give us much to do waiting for posts. we don't expect you to swim through all our junk over the years, but feel free to ask any time =)

Ah, I had no idea this took place so soon after KOTOR. That suits me quite well. Oddly enough, I can accept the technology thing much more easily in my mind if we're making new technology older instead of the other way around. I think I'll head over to the old site tomorrow to satisfy my curiosity about the Empire and the Oracle and then I'll try to get something up. A few years ago I had a character on a different forum that was a Dark Jedi turned bounty hunter that I might resurrect, or maybe I'll come up with something new. Either way, thanks for the help.

Well, since everyone here is so friendly, there are a few other things I've been wondering about... 1. How are purchases of droids and droid fighters that are usually run by a droid brain (think CIS battle droids) handled if droid brains themselves are not available? Should it be assumed that the droids we buy have programming that allows them to operate independently of droid brains? 2. Where do extra crew members come from when purchasing a ship that requires multiple crew positions? Is it assumed that whatever faction we're with provides them for us? 3. Provided we write an adequate explanation, can characters switch factions? For example, could a Jedi fall to the Dark Side and join the Sith or a Sith grow tired of being under Imperial control and aspire to be a mercenary? 4. There's some mention of Shadow Arts and elemental forms invented by Cain (the person, not the character). Could a summary of these abilities be provided? 5. Where are the Yuuzhan Vong? I heard mention of some character or another visiting a colony of theirs in the plot summary, but I don't recall where it was. Are they on Zenoma Sekot? Should there culture be assumed to be like it was post-Yuuzahn Vong War? 6. Why is Malachor listed as an existing planet? I thought it was destroyed by the Mass Shadow Generator after KOTOR II. Also, where do we post a request a planet be added to the forum?

Also, where do we post a request a planet be added to the forum? 1. When you buy the droid it comes with programming. So yes you can assume it comes with. You however could mod the programming if your characters any good at it to perhaps provide different functions. 2. When purchasing a ship it's assumed that all crew members come with the ship. A little unrealistic but hey, it works. Also note that these crew members if you decide to RP them are NPC's and can't really do much if a fight breaks out on the ship. Unless of course you buy some Units from the store and use them as part of the security force on your ship. 3. Indeed you can. 4. Ok, well Force forms and Shadow arts. I'll start off with Force forms. Note i'm going to give you slight story line but it will greatly smeared to save time. It was based off using the force to control the elements of nature, Shadow, Light, Fire, Wind, Water, Earth, Ect. Over a Million years ago a race on Tishi(A planet invented by our members) had a race called Mitsukai(another thing invented by us. They are winged humaniods always strong in the force). Well at one point they had 7 elders for the seven elements who could do some of the most destructive things, but knowledge of most of their techniques has been lost over the million years save for a few techniques. The most glaring example of the force forms having survived is the Shadow form, which from springs Shadow Arts. Later down the line one of the Elders leaves the planet because all of the other elders are starting to off eachother. Well he teaches humans how to use the force,(forbidden back then to the mitsukai) and then there's a war and eventually that war ends unexpectantly. But that is how a group known to be called the Kumori came about originally. Eventually the Kumori began to twiddle down slowly as sort of nomadic tribes with their own superstitions on a different planet called Chinine.(Planet I originally made up. ) Their fighting style and philosophy developed away from the universe for a long time, and if your curious about that I can provide information on that as well. Anyways to Shadow Arts. There are 3 techniques it compromises. The body, Mind and Spirit. The body is called Force Clone, or Shadow Clone, whichever you'd like to call it. Basically it's a clever way to use mind trick. You fool an opponent into seeing something that isn't there. It's most commonly used to make duplicates of yourself, and when it attacks you augment it's blows with precise uses of condensed and sharp telekinetic blows to make the illusion appear "Real" in the minds of your opponent. The second is the art of the Spirit. It's called Konisu in the native Kumori which I believe we use a mix of Japanese and Latin. xD Anyways back to the technique. This technique is used to enter a place called the Void. By reaching out to them through the force, and calling this haunted and mostly darksided souls from the void they will drag you into their dimension and thus you will seemly be enveloped in shadow and then disappear. The Void looks exactly the same as the real dimension except it appears darker, and has no sentient life. If you move in this dimension you move in the real dimension. When you exit you will be in whatever position you are in the Void world. This technique is not without it's dangers however, for the longer you stay in the void the more souls are attracted to you. The only way to exit the void is to expel these souls away from you, and if there are too many souls surrounding you... you may not have enough power to expel them anymore... in that case you'll be stuck to wander forever in that realm with those haunted souls . The Last technique. Tsukikage(might have spelt that wrong) or the Kumori art of the Mind, is again a sort of 'mind trick' that takes over the five senses. You basically dominate the other person's mind completely that you can literally show them anything, and their senses will believe it. They will feel pain, cold, heat, ect. There is a saying that a Kumori has already one the fight before it's even began. Mostly because those who cannot see through the ploys of a Kumori are chasing shadows. 5. This is the Kotor era so while there aren't too many vong, we like keeping options open for people so to answer your question they are where ever they are during 3,950 BBY but you can still RP a Vong or a group of Vong. I know we had an attack of vong on a whole planet once before in the past. 6. First off, it depends on the ending you get in Kotor II, yes cannonly it is destroyed, and so is Lehon.(Planet near star forge) We keep them there for the sake of if anyone wants to go RP there. We aren't quite strictly Cannon here, but we stay close enough. to your second question you post them in the New Ideas board. Look over the templates for getting your Idea excepted. Black Lightsabers were also on this site far before any star wars material listed it if you were curious. Sorry for the long winded explanations

Also, where do we post a request a planet be added to the forum? 1. - Yes 2. - It's assumed that when you buy the ship, the price of hiring a crew is also included in that price. 3. - yes 4. - View the post above at your own peril. 5. - The Yuuzhan Vong are a bit tricky right now. I was the one unofficially in charge of them. The last known location i have them at is Teegeeack on the old site. you can view the thread here... ezekielrage.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=teegeeack&action=display&thread=47226. - Because this site consists of a bunch of KOTOR fanboys. To add a star wars cannon planet, just make a suggestion in the new ideas area with the name and a link to information about that planet. (Wookieepedia being your best bet for that). If it's a competely unique planet you made up, you'll also post it in New Ideas. There is a template for the write up on it already there that you can use to help organize things.

Actually, I prefer knowing what other people have done with the world so that I can make what I create consistent with what they've already made. I do appreciate your concern, though, Zilfer. There's a fine line between continuity and constraint.
Oh, and for one last (ha) question, were Revan and the Exile considered to be dark or light in this RP?

Oh, and for one last (ha) question, were Revan and the Exile considered to be dark or light in this RP? if i remember correctly i believe they stayed Jedi. The site stays as close to cannon as closely as possible until it bumps into the sites own version of history.
