Gene and PP streaked through the enemy formation at full tilt then arced around to port in a wide circle. Laser fire had raked them but the shields held up.
"Captain, we're receiving an open com." PP said pointing to the blinking light on the dashboard.
Gene grabbed the headset and put it on. He listened to the com message then keyed the com. "I do now. This is Shadow Sworn. I've got 10... make that 9 droid starfighters left on my scopes. I have a request though, I'm about to open my cargo ramp. Can you tell me if two battle droids tumble out of it?"
Gene nodded to PP who flipped the switch on the overhead control panel to open the cargo ramp. The hydraulics groaned as the ramp fought against the wind resistance on the bottom of the hull but slowly the ramp lowered. As they climbed, the low pressure outside the ship began pulling the air out of the cargo hold. Gene pulled back on the yolk tilting his nose up and then turned the inertial compensator down to 80%. He was suddenly pushed back into his seat by the G forces and everything not tied down in the cargo bay began falling backwards and out the open ramp, including the two B2 battle droids and several of the crates they had loaded onto the ship without strapping down.
Gene left the hatch open for a few seconds, waggled his ship back and forth to shake anything else lose then nodded to PP again who closed the ramp. Gene leveled off and put the inertial compensator back to full strength. "Problem one solved, hopefully." Red laser fire streaked up and hit the belly of his ship just as the cargo ramp shut. The shield bore the brunt of the strikes but they left nasty black divots in the hull. Gene rolled the ship right and put her into a dive.
"Captain, this ship was not built to handle these kinds of maneuvers. You're putting severe stress on the frame." PP said in a panic.
"The frame can kiss my ass PP." Gene growled as he brought the ship out of its dive and onto the tail of a starfighter. "Fire the lasers!"
PP opened fire again and the two laser cannons began spewing red bolts into the rear of the Droid Starfighter. It's stabilizer got hit first followed by the reserve fuel tank which caused the fighter to immediately burst into flame and began spiraling off to the west trailing thick black smoke behind it. "Good shot PP."
The droid let up on the triggers and watched the fighter as it plummeted and then smashed into the ground. "Oh dear." The droid said.
