Kuat space, Drive yards, Warehouse 11-03.
Things were set up for the time being, two guns covering the major entry ways into the Warehouse, men patrolling each other corridor into the repository in shifts, as the event could take longer then anticipated, Tycen Malone’s condition was easily still the worse situation out of everything, the man had improved but was still in shock to some degree, or something the doctor’s words again were in some foreign not quite basic language. As a pleasant change of pace the medic from before, Cameron, approached him to deliver an update, as oppose to the Major asking for one.
“So?” He started before she stopped a few feet away from him, She was flipping some object around in her hands, Bra couldn’t discern what it was.
“He’s in phase two of hypovolemic shock, he seems to be surviving to some degree off the force, but Major not even the force can keep a man alive forever.” She warned again strongly suggesting that whatever rescue team was coming, it’d better happen fast.
“How long would you say?” Major asked trying to get an estimate of how things would have to go in order to get everyone out of here alive.
“Not long.” She answered bluntly, and without at all fulfilling what he actually wanted to know.
“How long?” He asked again.
“Not long.” She again responded, The major scratched his head before finally addressing her one more time.
“How much time, like a number?” She looked at Malone and then back briefly tucking her hands under her chin in silent contemplation.
“Two, maybe three hours if he keeps this force thing up.” She finally answered straight, giving the Major exactly what he wanted to know. He rest a hand on her shoulder looking toward some of the men watching the hallway leading to the Kuat main spaceport, though close, really close, to their position the Major still though so much moment wouldn’t be good for Tycen, and he was sure Cameron would agree with that.
“I need free hands up front!” He called some men ether providing additional security or just chattering until assignments were handed out moving up. The Major turned to regard Cameron one last time. “Alright, I have a plan for getting you, him, and the other medics off this station.” With that he departed rushing over to the free arms.
Kuat Space, Memento Mori, Command deck.
“Any word back from the Mandalorians, Lieutenant Pions?” Raines requested shifting her gaze from the datapad detailing information around the system, as far as the sensors would go at least, including the position of the Normandy teams.
“No Ma’am.” Was the sharp reply offered to Raines, and one that came as something of a surprise.
“Nothing, no confirmation of any kind?” She repeated sure there was a mistake of some kind, maybe her hearing was going bad.
“Uh…no Ma’am nothing at all.” He again told her. Raines expected some form of corroboration on their part, but ultimately it saved her the trouble of elaborating on the matter, now she could only hope things stayed quiet.
“Um Ma’am we have an incoming transmission, from Tycen Malone’s comlink.” Abruptly piped in one of the officers monitoring communications in the system.
“Get it on a secure line and patch the message through.” Raines ordered hoping to hear some good news out of this mess Tycen had to have helped to create, she hadn’t seen whatever holo-footage might have been recovered yet, but was sure he had a hand in the initial start of this all.
“Yes Ma’am!”
Entering Kuat space, Audere Est Facere, Bridge.
Torlow slowly moved down the bridge as the countdown began, five second until they had real space, and if Trinity’s prior behavior was any indicator something wasn’t right in the system, now was the time to find out if she was right. Three seconds. Torlow moved to the center of the view screen to achieve what would be the first glance at what was happening.
“Someone inform the captain.” Torlow said directing a finger at the first body he saw out of the corner of his eye. Something wicket was brewing that’s for sure, the Mori was not alone at this point, as it should have been, the enemy ship had unusually positioned itself between the Mori and a portion of the drive yards, to what end?
“Open a encrypted line with the Mori, Jankins.” Torlow instructed as he continued to gaze forward at the scene before him. “Jankins also run a check on the other vessel, find out what it is, and who it belongs to.” He added running a eye over the vessel from the viewport, the imagine magnified by the scoops outside the ship.
“Torlow what’s it look like?” Came the low, generally cool, tone of Trinity Sorel-Malone, whom today was shaky with fright a pouring concern over Tycen’s well being filling the room with her presence, even a none force sensitive person could detect it. Torlow had suggested she get some sleep while in transit to Kuat, what little sleep she might have managed did not seem to help the overly pale complex her skin has taken.
“I don’t know what Trinity, but it seems something’s happened since our departure, best to-“ Torlow was cut short by Jankins, whom seemed to have forgotten his place and interrupted a superior officer.
“Sir, we’ve identified the craft as Mandalorian, and I have a secure link with the Mori, Raines is awaiting an audience with you.” Torlow looked both glad and concerned over the revelation, glad cause he has never been a fan of Tycen’s, but worried because why would Malone ever give up the spotlight unless he wasn’t able to take it? His concern was bred only out of worry for Trinity however. He took a deep breath and crossed the room to take the transmission one on one, passing Tina who took a spot directly in front of the viewport where he just was.
“Thank you Jankins, and do not interrupt me in mid speech again.” He warned snatching the comlink from the officer’s hands and holding it up to his mouth.
“This is Adkons, Raines what’s the situation?” He asked getting straight to it. Torlow turned his attention away from Jankins and looked toward the viewport. Jankins in the meantime took it upon himself to transfer the conversation to the head captains terminal, assuming of course it would need to be heard by the top ranking members in the area.
“We are okay for now, Malone issued a bombing of the Drive yards.”
“The whole thing!?” Torlow cut in unbelieving that Tycen would fool himself into thinking that ship alone could destroy the un measurable length that was the orbiting ring of kuat’s drive yards. Raines voice Crackled over the line as she formulated a rather agitated response.
“If you did not interrupt, Adkons, I could clarify.” She pointed out the anger hard to miss in her tone after a brief pause to compose herself, Torlow assumed, she again came over the link. “Tycen entered the drive yards in an attempt to capture them for the Federation, he took a large quantity of troops with him, however as of fifteen minutes ago I received word that he’s been injured, lightsaber wound, and according to my last report entered shock. But-“ Raines was again interrupted by the sudden and unannounced presence of Tina on the comline, whom sounded even more upset.
“Tycen’s in shock, What are you doing to help him?” She outright demanded of Raines the explantion she might have been moving onto, but before another word could be spoken by ether the shocked Torlow or Raines Tina interjected to continue herself.
“Forget it, you all may have it out for him but I don’t!” She rose in her chair firmly placing both hands on the control terminal before issuing a direct command to the bridge.
“Prime all weapons, shatter fighters. Aim for the enemy craft!” A simultaneous and surprised “What?!” Rang throughout the bridge, and one could hear Raines question the order as well through the com. Torlow moved quickly to try and intercept.
“Trinity you’re over reacting. I’m-“ The commander was cut short in his sentence as Tina lifted one hand and projected a wall of telekinesis energy to hurtle him across the room until he was pined against the back wall, unable to speak.
“Fallow through with that command, Now!” She ordered the deck, no body questioning the command this time as stationed busied themselves I the act of compliance.
Kuat Space, Memento Mori, Command deck.
“Adkon, Adkon? Damn it!” Raines tossed the small hand held device to the floor shattering it to an uncountable number of pieces, and then preceding to step on the remains. She moved to the communications station grabbing another transmitter.
“Tina, Torlow, someone respond!” No answer. Raines slammed the tiny electronic communications device down on the table, a hallow thud taking its beat not seconds afterward. She marched back to the center of the command deck as she eyed the Mandalorian ship. Suddenly one of the officers popped up and waved Raines down.
“What now?”
“Um…Ma’am it seems like the-“ He didn’t finish the sentence instead a sudden stream of super turbolaser fire detailed what he was going to say, without all the words. The blast definitely originating from the Audere’s super long ranged turbolasers, otherwise they’d be out of range to attack. Raines gave up, she just tossed the datapads she’d carried on the steel flooring behind her.
“Well that just fucked everything. Open Fire.” The mando cease fire was surely screwed after that, and Raines didn’t want to be the one getting blow into space dust. The Mori started all weapons systems again, and powered all shields to their maximum without taking energy from the turbo weapons, and fired at the Mando ship, sending a wave of missiles afterword in the event a shield arch went down.
Kuat space, Drive yards, Warehouse 11-03.
“Yeah, so you, Malone, and the other medics are going through the emergency hatch, I set it up with Raines, she recovered the longsword in the hangers and dispatched it to connect to the hatch outside.” The Major was explaining to Cameron as they stood just aside the hatch, two men carrying Malone on a stretcher behind them, fallowed by the additional two medics.
“What about you and your men, Major?” She pressed, she’d asked the same question only seven minutes previous when he first pitched the idea to her.
“We’ll be extracted when the Normandy’s get back, shouldn’t be five minutes behind you if things go-“ A sudden shack raked the drive yards bouncing everyone about, the Rookie almost dropping Malone. The Major looked around the warehouse before finally addressing the attack.
“what the hell; I thought I called a cease fire? Okay there’s no time, get them in the ship and on their way.” He said addressing the corporal; leaving it the rook’s would only spell disaster. With a slap on the shoulder the Major moved passed his troops and toward the comlink he’d left on the table.
“Raines, come in, what the hells happened?”
Kuat ground, traffic control tower, Imperial airstrip.
“Khris, we’ve received a transmission.” One of the Mandos said moving toward him with a listening device, the cleanup effort nearly done after half an hour, twenty sever deaths, sixty three various injuries, and six, or was it eight? Tanks destroyed, he felt it was a good day.
“A message, and I am only now hearing about this?” He asked getting up from the chair he’d been drinking on, stashing the bottle back into his coat.
“We’ve only just picked it up.” The mando countered, sticking the comms unit in his face.
“How can we only now be getting a transmission, we’re in the air traffic control tower for the force sake!” He took the comm. link and replayed the audio recording.
Beware any ships in the system. The feds are planning on destroying the yards!
Khris shook his head in disbelief, I mean if that had happened they would have at least seen some kinds of explosions from the ground. He stuffed the device back into the mandos arms.
“Hold that.” He asked moving toward the exit of the tower, Once out he looked up into the crystal clear kuat day sky, to find flash of red mixed with orange blooming fourth.
“What the…How long ago was that message originally sent?”
“Not more then half an hour.”
“Shit, get the men, ready the transport, you guys started digging that out right?” Khris asked moving down the line of the strip.
“We’re Mandalorian, what do you think?” Was his smart guy answer while he stalked behind Cada, having lost the comm. equipment somewhere in the tower. The two moved passed unused TIE’s and other imperial ships, the possibility of using them sticking the Khris as he overheard some Mandos commenting on them.
“That’s genius! Get as many of these into the air, it seems there are problems upstairs.”
