Name: HB-13C “Orion” Speeder Bike
Information: When Aratech Corporation was near bankruptcy after the failure of G0-T0 infrastructure planning system droids they realized it was time to go back to their roots and ground vehicles. The first part of their plan to upgrade their older landspeeder and speeder bike designs. The HB-13C was designed to be faster and more maneuverable than there ten year older HB-10 Speeder Bike. The HB-13 series speeder bike was also design to be easily upgraded to an armed speeder bike for military, police or security use.
Dimensions:
Length: 12 Feet
Width: 5 Feet
Height: 4 Feet
Picture:
Vehicle Appearance:
The HB-13C “Orion” speeder bike was built to be ridden in a forward leaning position in the same manor of the 74-Z speeder bike which would be design much later. When someone is holding onto the handle bars, the person is protected by the windscreen and forces the air to form a protective pocket at 250 miles per hour. The forward velocity and is controlled by foot pedals while steering is controlled by the handle bars. The handle bars also have several buttons which allows one to manipulate the HUB projected onto the windshield and the detailed screens. The screen is also a touch screen which one an touch different topics.
Weapon Payload:
The HB-13C “Orion” Speeder Bike does not come equipped with weapons.
Defensive Systems:
The Orion main defense is speed and maneuverability rather than shields or heavy armor plating. In order to reduce the mass of the speeder bikes low enough to operate with a small repulsor drive they only used light armor plating. The light armor plating only protects the craft from light blaster fire; this means that that a man getting a five or six good rifle shots in a tight cluster can punch through its armor.
Sensor Systems:
The sensor systems of the HB-13C are rather advance because of the high speed nature of the speeder bike. The bike has a forward sweeping radar which picks up objects in an one hundred and seventy degrees arc in front. The radar and map information is then projected on the forward windscreen of the bike to provide the ability to better navigate obstacles along with critical information about the bike. Mounted below the windscreen is single screen which can access the information on the bike such as communications channel, bike diagnostic, area maps, and any other information.
Engines:
The HB-13C Orion uses a very small repulsor engine which is only powerful enough to lift the bike to an altitude of 32 feet which allows it to travel quickly over the roughest terrain without slowing down. The speeder bike is propelled forward with a set of two thrusters which gets it to a sustained top speed of 250 mile per hour.
Classification: Ground Repulsor Craft
Recommend Price: 250 Credits
