As some of you may be aware, Proboards is going to be switching to version 5 soon. What does this mean? It means the look of the board will be overhauled, but more importantly the user interface will be getting a substantial upgrade. While this will lead to a coding nightmare, for most of you this will be a welcome change. The main thing you need to know is when the actual transition occurs (not sure of the exact date, just that it will be within the month most likely) everyone will need to log in again to link their profiles from v.4 to the updated forum. Not really that hard to do. If you'd like a preview of v.5, you can visit the BHOD's test board which I've had converted early so that I can play with the new coding style before having to apply here on the main forum. Feel free to sign up on the test board and try out all the new features. (The built in free shout box is an especially welcome upgrade). carashi.proboards.com/Regards ~Cain

Just an update on this; the official date given to me for the switch to Proboards v.5 to begin will be April 29th. At that time all Proboards forums will be updated. If I decide to make the transition any sooner than that date I will be sure to let you all know.
Again, if you're confused about what this all means, visit our test board (linked above) and check it out.

Yet another update: The transition to version 5 will be taking place either tonight or tomorrow, so if you notice things to be a bit different, do not be alarmed.
Just a reminder, when the transition does take effect you will all be prompted to log in again.
EDIT: It's here.

Alright, a little info to keep you all updated. I have good news and bad news, so we'll do the bad news first.
Some of you may have noticed a bunch of coding gibberish in your custom titles. That would be the remnants of the old RPG stat code we used for v.4. The bad news concerning this: the values in the "Experience" do not reflect the actual experience your characters had. The Levels should be correct, however. I've not figured how we're going to sort this out yet, but unless you remember your XP amount exactly, it's likely we'll just have to reset everyone's characters to the beginning of their level (i.e. if you're level 1 you have 0xp, level 2 would have 100xp, level 3 would have 200, etc, etc). I apologize for the inconvenience. Also, if you'd like that crap removed from your CT, just PM myself or one of the other staff and they can remove it for you.
Now to the good news! I have found a rather awesome new code that works with v.5. This code will keep track of Experience, will do so in the correct boards, and does not require that we turn off post counts throughout most of the forum to do so. The only hitch so far is that the code only covers one field (meaning only keeps track of one character per member), but I have submitted a request on support to have this rectified.
Level has also been added. For my staff, this can be edited by going to Edit Profile > click the 'Personal' tab, and enter the Level into one of the fields at the bottom.
I'll be sure to post updates whenever I have new information. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions.
Regards -Cain

Does this code include "bumping the person's level' automatically or do we still need to edit their profile as well as their character profile.

You'll need to edit the profile when they level up, but that shouldn't be too much hassle.
