A single Omega 13 class starfighter exited hyperspace over the planet Mandalore. It had been a long time since Jor Halcyon had done any starfighter flying and it had been a welcome relief to him. That relief however was now overshadowed by the tension of being in the lion’s den. It’s true that the Jedi haven’t taken sides in the war, but they’re still technically allied with the republic. The Mandalorians have never been too friendly with the Jedi to begin with, but being buddies with the enemy during a war is usually not taken too well.
“Mandalore ATC, this is Jedi Master Jor Halcyon. Requesting permission to land. I’m here due to a historical investigation, I would like to land and access your records. I will do so unarmed if you so desire.” Jor said into the com, praying for a response in words rather than blaster bolts.

"Sir the unidentified aircraft is claiming to be a Jedi here to see our records. Should I blast the idiot out of the sky?" asked junior officer Tanos.
Davros turned to look at the screen and recognized the name as indeed being a Jedi. One of the masters, Mandalore would have ordered him shot down but they Jedi hadn't interfered really with the war. They weren't leading assaults against them.
"Allow him access to land, I'll meet him at the docks." said Davros patting the Tanos' shoulder. Tanos shrugs almost seeming bored all of a sudden.
"It's your hide if Mandalore finds out, she's cold as Ice about things like this," said Tanos making a move to the confirmation message of landing. "Your free to dock at station C-25. Unarmed if you will."
Davros headed down to the Docking bay waiting the arrival of Jedi Master Jor. Taking a drink from a flask that he had picked up ever since the Previous leader of the Mandalorians had been phased out. He hoped Bermfad found that mask.... and soon. The Republic and Mandalorians would tear each other apart. Tattooine Sunrise soothed his nerves as he watched a Deathcommando unit walk on by. They had been instated to find and ferret out those who did not live by the code... or rather the new mandalore's version of the code.

Jor landed his fighter in the designated landing zone and popped the canopy open. He saw a man waiting for him so he made a show of unclipping his gunbelt and dropping it into the cockpit onto the fighters seat before climbing down. He felt a little naked without the pistols or lightsaber but not so much he was willing to start an incident over it. Besides, at least he knew the guy waiting for him wouldn’t just outright try to kill him. A Mandalorian would make sure his opponent was armed before attempting that.
Jor climbed down the side of the fuselage and dropped down to the ground. “Greetings. I’m Jedi Master Jor Halcyon.” He said, introducing himself. “I’ve come here on a quest to find something I think might be hidden on your planet. An artifact of great power and great evil.” In all of Jor’s years, he found that lying or tricking a Mandalorian was rarely a good strategy so Jor preferred the straight up truth approach.

Davros crossed his arms momentarily as if giving thought to what Jor had said and then one hand slide up to his chin. "I'll take your word for it. Your not the first one to arrive today looking for it, whatever this artifact is," said Davros as he dropped his arms to his side. "If your wondering why you needed to be disarmed it was for your own safety not ours. Anyone holding a weapon is expected to use it or be ready to use it should the need arise. No one will attack an unarmed man or at least they'll give it a second thought if they are on any level honorable."
Though he wasn't particularly happy with the sudden attention into the planet's history he trusted this man more than the one before who had instead basically paid his way through the front docks. He grunted bringing himself back to the conversation. "The names Davros and I'd recomend watching your step around here even if you are unarmed. Place isn't like what it used to be before... well the changing of the guard," said Davros as he turned motioning for the Jedi to follow him. "I'm guessing your going to want to go over what records we have of the history of this place, and the hunting of Mythosaurs. I can still remember the last hunt, the previous Mandalore Canderous Ordo had ordered a hunt to bring up the morale of the Mandalorian people."
It wasn't long before they aquired a speeder and Davros piloted accross the plains to one of the holding sites of Lore. Not the most visitied place on Mandalore but it held the original Manda code which all Mandalorians lived by, and some history on the race that had come before them. Taung, if he remembered right but they were all supposed to be dead.
"They say this planet used to be covered with Mythosaurs and during the golden age mandalorians would hunt them down to prove their strength, been a long while since their population was anything near huntable," said Davors as they finally pulled into an open courtyard made of stone, Taung statues lined this place with a few human statues here and there. Jor would possibly recognize the similarities to the Dark Jedi Bulgender that had left the Force Orb behind in an attempt to escape the Jedi's reinforcements. "Now come on, lets go get you to the archives maybe you'll find something worth while there. The other man, some sort of Dr. from Metellos I keep forgetting his name, has already been here for a few days."

“There’s someone else looking for…?” Jor half said. His mind whirled with possibilities of who it could possibly be. Someone had been searching for the orb they found on Dathomir. Jor himself had almost been crushed by falling debris trying to get it back from their mystery thief. From what he saw and John’s description the similarities between the surrounding statues and their Orb stealer was not lost on the Jedi Master.
“Was this other person disarmed like me?” Jor asked. He didn’t like being unarmed but as long as the odds were even he couldn’t complain. He still had the Force.

“He didn’t seem to have any weapons on him when he landed. A labcoat type, the only ‘weapon’ he had was a few scalpels on him that he let us confiscate. The man doesn’t even look like he’s seen a day of battle in his life,” said Davros holding his hand up to a holoscanner and the door unlocked to let them in. He walked down a few guarded passageways to another door in which he opened again.
The room it opened up to was large, holding old tapestries depicting ancient looking battles amongst the stars, as well as statues, old tombs, and barely functioning terminals holding data. In the room was a man and a woman standing next to each other going through terminal data. The man looked up from the Terminal and started walking towards them. “That’s him,” Davros said under his breath as he hailed the man with a wave.
“Greets, and salutations.” Said the man calmly as he held out a hand to Jor. “I am Dr. Tigaro Valesco here on a research project. I think since you’re here, our goals may lie in the same direction. You are…?”

“Labcoat types can sometimes be the most dangerous of all.” Jor muttered under his breath as they walked.
When they reached the man Jor sized him up quickly before taking his hand and giving it a firm shake. Two people coming to Mandalore within days of one another with the same goal was far too much of a coincidence for Jor to simply ignore. The Force was at work here. “I’m Jedi Master Jor Halcyon of the Jedi Order.” He said, introducing himself. “We recently became aware of an object that might have been buried here on Mandalore a long time ago. Something dangerous. The Jedi Order has no interest in taking this object from the Mandalorians as it will probably be culturally significant to them but we would like to confirm its existence and location.”
Jor felt around a bit, letting the Force take in his surroundings. Nothing seemed amiss but that didn’t mean it couldn’t change rapidly. Still, he let some of the tension ease out of him as the Force told him he wasn’t in immediate danger.

"Yes, then we are looking into the same thing. It seems as you might say it, the force wanted our path's to cross," said Tigaro knowing the Jedi were often prone to such sayings. "Don't worry, our goals here are purely academic, and I have a feeling I have already confirmed, its existance on this planet. Going through the histories the Taung had come here many lifetimes ago seeking larger things to hunt. The Mythosaur's I think are an alteration to the natural evolution of this planet. If you'd like to take a look at my notes I can forward them to you. It doesn't seem like there is much cause for a predator of that size to be able to sustain itself on this planet."
Pulling up a datapad he hands it over to Jor with what he had thus far. Under his current theory all the Mythosaurs had been effected by this artifact or perhaps only a few were affected and grew to such a size. The larger ones would then of course come to eat the smaller ones, and with a grown intelligence the Mandalorians could not help but find it a worthy foe to challenge. Much to the Guardians dismay no doubt it was hidden away in a tomb somewhere, and there had been an expedition to Mandalore the First's tomb undertaken by a group of people assisting the previous Mandalore.
"As you can see I've done some extensive research myself, if this has any bases, I would predict that one of the members of a Mandalorian trail has it.... particularly one that is no longer on this planet. Samantha Aran, I would count as the most likely canditate, though Clan Aran left Mandalore when the previous Mandalore Bermfad was.... dishonored. Facinating that loosing just a mask can have so much influence!" said Tigaro musing to himself. He turned back to Jor to get his oppinion. "I'm always open to second oppinions however, take a look for yourself. It's always good to have an Academic second oppinion."

Jor examined the notes. They were quite thorough. He made a copy and sent it to his datapad. Later he would sift through the info and provide his own cliff notes for the profile he was building. Somehow he doubted Samantha Aran had such an artifact in her possession. Jor knew her once and Mandalorian or not, he had a gut feeling that she would know the danger it presented and would have left it where it was. "Is there any record of the Aran clan having such an artifact? Something that ancient, from that long forgotten part of Mandalorian history would carry a great deal of honor. not the kind of thing they would keep hidden."
jor checked his own datapad to make sure the data transfered before pocketing it. "If it had been picked up by any mandalorian wouldn't they have declared the find?"

"I think you mistake the Mandalorian custom for being accepting of Force sensitive items," said Tigaro looking over at Davros. "Was not the prior Mandalore dethroned for such activity of seeking to develop force users amongst his people."
"What he says is true, though there is some arguments about it, they are not voiced loudly and the overwhelming consensus was against the prior Mandalore, in fact that has possibly caused the most amount of schism amongst our people in recent years... this is why I choose to accompany you, Jedi. Some despise you so much for wielding a power they do not understand and they see it as a weakness to rely on the force. One should rely on skill," said Davros.
Tigaro looked from Davros, back to Jor. "That is putting it mildly, some accounts say that during the 'schism' any force using members of the Mandalore order were hunted down and killed for their loyalty could never be trusted now that they were corrupted. Is it any wonder why someone as reasonable as the records of Aran seem to indicate, would find this line of thinking inadequate? My records on Aran however are far from complete." Tigaro pushed glasses up his nose and took a quite look through his notes again.
"As far as I know Samantha Aran went with the prior Mandalore to Mandalore the First's tomb, a place hidden from the knowledge of most Mandalorians. The trial they went through was said to be done for each Mandalore albeit always with an Aran Clan member present to go there. Claims that the journey must be made without the aid of technology lead me to believe that there is a technology old hidden at this location that must interfere with technology. Would this not match the fluctuations a massive force presence might cause? I would deduce so. With the secretive nature of hiding the tomb of the first, and clan Aran's position as one of the oldest Mandalorian clans I cannot help but wonder if there was a secondary motive to that 'trial' and why had Mandalore so pushed his campaign of 'Anti-Sith' no matter the cause. It did not matter if it was republic, federation, or rogue mandalorians. Bermfad Ordo Mandalore succeeding Canderous Ordo came back different from that trial. What had he gained from the insight I may never know, I've tried locating the location to do my own investigation."
"We wouldn't permit you even if you found it," said Davros slightly grating in the doctor's calm and collected voice.
"I have other ways of observing without setting foot upon your sacred ground but rest assured Darkhand Enterprises respects culture's rights on their homeworlds as well as their wishes. We would not seek to entrench upon your homeworld nor incur the wrath of your retribution.
Tigaro's eyes leap from Davros to Jor. Something in that sentence made him uneasy, though he couldn't quite post it down. There was a sudden beep from his commlink and he held a hand up to his ear and turning around.
"Yes I've confirmed the Mandalorians either have one or did have one. It may or may not be in the possession of Clan Aran. I've yet to determine with 100% accuracy it's location. You should know the Jedi are investigating into the matter was well, is there anything you want me to--- alright will do." Tigaro turned back around to face the two men and he sighed.
"It looks like my time here is up, though the head of Darkhand would like to extend an invitation to meet him on Metellos to discuss the matters of the artifacts you study. He has a great interest in them. Bring weapons if it makes you feel safer but he promises you will not be harmed. If you should find the time, it is on a stratablock owned by the company."

"using the force is a skill." Jor said in response to davros. "But heres the problem with your theory Doctor. your assuming whomever found this artifact knew what it was. While the artifacts are powerful enough to make a noticeable effect on non force sensitives, if the person who found it wasn't a force sensitive he or she wouldn't know truly what the artifact was."
Jor thought for a few moments. He wished he'd brought the Botany Bay with him. Goose had been with the group that plunged into that tomb, purely by accident and falling off his ass drunk if his report was right but he had been there and he remembered enough of it to know it wasn't a fun time. Probably the only time in his life he was forced to use a sword. His report however did not mention any orb or sphere of ultimate evil. But then again goose isn't a force sensitive... and he was really drunk.
When the doctor made his offer to join him and his... financier? superior? boss? on mettalos Jor's interest was peaked. "Well, it's good to know your boss isn't so stupid as to purposely piss off the most famous warriors in the galaxy. He might be smart enough to warrant a visit."
Darkhand Enterprises... it just sounded like an evil corporation when he said it in his head. The stranger they met on Dathomir had known more about the artifact than the Jedi had, that was for certain. Jor believed this doctor was not being entirely forthcoming as well. Jor made a mental note to check into this darkhand business and see if they had any holdings in or around the Dathomir system as well as mandalore.
When the Doctor left Jor turned his attention to Davros. "The new Mandalore, the one that booted out Bermfad Ordo, did he make the trip to this Tomb of the first?"

Davros watched the doctor leave his gaze cooly tracking him. "I really don't like that guy," said Davros before Jor asked his question. "It's actually a She, and no. The Doctor was right that Clan Aran hasn't been seen amongst our Ranks in some time, neither has the remaining Clan Drakain who was also prociding on that mission. The previous Mandalore is being hunted accross the galaxy, and the other's on that tomb exploration were of little consequence."
"Do you think the Doctor's right about any of this? I mean it'd be a safe place to hide whatever it is your looking for, and while most people don't feel anything force related wise. I think it was rumored Bermfad had a sixth sense about him, heard that was a sign of sensitivity. Never saw him move anything with his mind though." said Davros rubbing his head for a moment.
Tigaro as he got onto a speeder to head back to the docking bay received yet another call.
"Yes, the offer's been extended though I don't agree with revealing what we know to the Jedi. The less they know the better, and it would have been more prudent for us not to relate our findings in front of a Mandalorian, let alone their security system that has no doubt recorded this information and sent it to Mandalore. She will be interested, despite the Anti Force User campaign she's been leading no Mandalore can pass up the shot at something powerful...."
"Leave that to me, Doctor. We need the Jedi's help to keep the situation under control, I've only been able to dedicate resources to keep leads hidden but with the sudden buzz out there someone's bound to find out. Soon we may have not just a war between the republic and mandalorians but also over those orbs. Pray the mandalorians don't make a shot for it... their bad enough as is."
"Fine. Don't say I didn't warn you however,"

"I don't like that guy either. Nothing i can put my finger on, but he was... a little too forthcoming with his information." Jor replied to Davros. "If the new Mandalore hasn't visited the tomb of the First and clan aran hasn't been seen since the new Mandalore came to power, then maybe I should start at the beginning of the trail. That tomb might hold the answer to a lot of questions."
Jor sat down and thought. He didn't know the exact location of the tomb but he could find it. The location would be in the Goose's report, he could get that from the Jedi database easy enough. The problem was that he was persona non gratis at this tomb. It was a Mandalorian tradition. "Don't suppose you know of a way I could go there without soiling the honor of every Mandalorian within 300 lightyears would you?"
