Name: Granite Crushammer
Species: Exo
Sex: Male Designation
Height: 5’ 11”
Weight: 356 lbs
Classification: Warlock
Sub-Classification: Voidwalker
Bio: Granite, a strange name for an Exo, was revived by his Ghost within an ancient mining facility on the moon. In his past life, he was most likely a miner, built for the strength and endurance required to work long term on the moon. He has no recollection of his past, like most Guardians, and instead of taking the designation programmed into his firmware, he chose to go by the name Granite Crushammer.
Almost immediately upon his resurrection, he became obsessed with the Light he was now imbued with and its many uses. He joined the ranks of Warlocks in order to gain access to the knowledge and abilities they possessed.
Along with his fascination in the Light, he nursed a budding obsession with its absence, inquiring about the Darkness and finding no concrete answers. Having worked on the moon for months before finding a ship suitable to bring him back to the Tower he was very familiar with the Hive and their presence there on the Moon. He began to believe that the secret to understanding the Darkness lay in understanding the Magic employed by the Hive. The Hive Wizards seemed to him to have some sort of connection with the Darkness which is what granted them their impressive array of powers.
His theories and opinions were mostly shunned and derided by others at the Tower. Some people accuse Void Walkers of dabbling in powers that resemble that of the Hive Wizards. Granite wished to replicate their powers identically. He felt that the intelligence it could potentially give the Guardians about the Darkness itself was worth the risk, since there was next to nothing known about the enigmatic Darkness itself.
To this end, Granite was forced to construct a laboratory outside The City’s walls. Still under construction, he hopes to one day have a facility that can contain and monitor Hive prisoners as subjects for scientific testing. The more he can understand about them, their culture, their biology and their connection to the Darkness the more information he can provide to the City in how to defeat them and maybe one day retake the moon.
In conjunction with his research into the Hive, he studied the powers of the Void, harnessing the powers of the alternate plane for both offense and defense. He also learned, like some Warlocks do, to travel through the void for short teleporting jumps. He prefers this method of travel to almost all others, jumping around the battlefield and engaging his enemies in close range attacks.
Physiology: Like all Exo’s, Granite is a fully robotic individual with an independent sentience. At some point in his past he sustained some sort of damage to his head which his Ghost is unable to repair without affecting his current memory or personality so he’s opted to leave that damage in place.
His body is built sturdy and strong, most likely to suit some sort of hard work in his previous life. Through the use of some reverse engineered Fallen technology and the help of his Ghost he has integrated outside electronics into his system. As such, the armor that he wears is almost as much a part of his body than any of his internal electronics. He finds that he gains access to his armors abilities faster and more efficiently when its integrated into his systems than when he simply wears it.
His gauntlets specifically are considered extensions of his hands rather than pieces of armor. His left hand is lined with capacitors and Void energy emitters which allow him to use throw his energy grenades and launch his Nova Bombs, both of which create large vortexes of swirling, damaging Void energy.
His right hand has complex electronics built for navigation during teleportation jumps, as well as energy absorbing panels and capacitors that allow him to channel energy from his enemies into himself. Finally, his palm contains a single large kinetic energy emitter that augments a palm strike into a powerful push of pure kinetic energy. Powerful enough to hurl a Dreg across a room and into a wall and sophisticated enough to drain them of their energy before they die.
His feet and legs are augmented with powerful braces to absorb impact as well as energy emitters which can be used to give him extra lift, reaching heights no normal human could ever reach.
Weapons/Equipment: His primary weapon is a powerful but slow firing auto rifle which fires high caliber rounds which hurt its max range but make up for it with increased force of impact.
His secondary weapon is a pump action shotgun which he keeps close at hand, especially when dealing with the Vex, since their slow movement and large vulnerable spots make them perfect shotgun targets.
To round out his armament, he carries a FWC Rocket launcher for dealing with larger, armored enemies or groups of smaller enemies.
In addition to these offensive weapons, he carries a Dreg shock pistol on his hip as well as a drew shock knife which he’s customized and used to torture information out of Fallen and Hive. He’s even learned to hurl the knife at high speed using the kinetic blast of his melee attack. He prefers the knife for finishing off enemies who are wounded, as well as using it and his teleportation trick to great effect.
