Project: QuickStygium
Overview: the QS project is the attempt at giving a humanoid subject the ability to become completely invisible at will. It attempts to do this by implanting a artificial gland within the subject that secretes a liquid crystal variant of Stygium crystals. This substance is excreted through the sweat glands until a thin layer covers all surfaces of the body. This substance bends light around the subject until the subject is completely invisible to the naked eye.
Gland:
QSRA19-B
A regenerative drug targeted at the brain. Injections enhance the regeneration of neurons in the brain to repair damage. Used on QS Projects subject QS11 to counteract the brain damage caused by the QS Gland. Serum successful in repairing brain damage but not in repairing the neurological connections. The brain eventually loses the information stored with in it as those damaged sections regenerate.
Side effects include migraines, spurts of impaired hearing or vision, drastically increased chance of terminal brain cancer. Continued use degrades mental facilities, manifesting in memory loss, loss of motor control, eventual blindness, eventual hearing loss and finally complete loss of all brain function.
Subjects:
QS1 - Died during implanting surgery. Body disposed of via cremation.
QS2 - Died during implanting surgery. Body disposed of via cremation
QS3 - Implantation success. Preliminary tests promising. Subject's mental stability questionable. Subject's mental stability declining rapidly. Subject dead due to infection caused by the implanting procedure. Body disposed of via cremation.
QS4 - Implantation success. Preliminary tests in normal ranges. Subject under close mental observation. Mental stability degrading. Samples of spinal fluid, blood, and brain matter taken. Mental stability degraded past point of lucidity. Subject put down. autopsy performed, information in attached file. Body disposed of via cremation
QS5 - Implantation success. Subjects health failing. Subjects body rejected implant. Subject died, level 10 pain suspected in subject before death. Brain matter samples taken. Body disposed of via cremation.
QS6 - Implantation success. Preliminary tests exceptional. QS Insanity setting in rapidly. Suspect that more frequent use of the gland accelerates mental degradation. Subject killed Rass Torqu, a lab assistant. Subject put down. Body disposed of via cremation.
QS7 - Implantation failed. Subject died during implantation process. Weak immune system combined with improper lab sterilization. Body disposed of via cremation.
QS8 - Implantation successful. Body rejecting gland. Immune system suppressors tried but unsuccessful. Full rejection achieved. Gland poisons subjects body. Subject dies, level 10 on the pain scale. body disposed of via cremation.
QS9 - Implantation successful. Preliminary tests excellent. Subject exhibits remarkable control over the gland. Mental degradation seemingly resisted at first. Commencing drug trials to hold off mental degradation. Blood, spinal fluid and urine samples taken. Subject clinically insane. Subject killed himself. Autopsy performed, information in attached file. Body disposed of via cremation.
QS10 - Implantation Successful. Drug trials to prevent mental degradation implemented. Mental degradation resisted somewhat. Preliminary tests highly successful. New methods for teaching control seem to be successful. Subjects mental stability failing but at a much more manageable rate. Subject escaped captivity for 3 hours. Crews looking for him found him in a storage bay eating all the freeze dried rations. Subject stunned and put back into observation cell. Spinal, blood, urine and brain samples taken. Degradation accelerating. Subject put down. Body disposed of via cremation.
QS11 - Foreign virus found in subject during pre surgery examinations. Virus designated subjected implanted successfully. Samples taken of subject. Special DNA sequence found in QS11's genes. New file opened on studying QS11's DNA structure. QSRA19-B injections used to counteract mental degradation. Mental degradation held off successfully but subject is highly resistant authority. Subjects mental faculties shifting slightly. Subject losing control of bodily functions, QSRA19-B suspected of causing mental problems. QS11 has lost all motor control. Subject put down. Body disposed of via cremation.
