Zilfer took a deep breath… and then let it out. His daily meditation was one of the few indulgences he had left from the time before. A habit he would probably never get rid of regardless of where his path took him. It had been three years since the fall of Cain, yes the “Fall of Cain” it almost sounded poetic in itself. He had spent the last few years hunting down all the remnants of Cain’s powers. Possible places he could have stored hidden knowledge, he needed to gather it all up and possibly do what he had done to Cain’s holocron. That decision had been fleeting and it left him questioning whether or not that was the wisest course.
There was no doubt a wealth of knowledge hidden within that holocron, but aye there’s the rub. That’s exactly the type of thinking that got people into the situation in the first place. Cain had followed a similar path of seeking knowledge, and that was the very same reason he had followed down a similar road. Now those who had freed him, well they were mostly gone or dead. The only constant was his lightsaber, meditation, and the guardianship of an ancient elder of his race who was more naïve than himself. He had fought through dens of Darkside Force Users, delved into cults dedicated to Cain, and what scarred Zilfer the most wasn’t the amount of his remnants behind. It was the lack of his spirit. There was something very chilly about all of this, almost a physical weight pressing down. Then there were moments when all weight seemed to be lifted, as he knew the galaxy had the chance at another new beginning, as with all ends the shining future in the distance sparkled. He secretly wondered at what he would do after his hunt finally was over… would he hunt forever in a self delusion that the danger was still there? He had seen people like that before. No he didn’t want to do that, he would often assure himself. He had a feeling that path ended up right where Ryuu was.
Ryuu had taken refuge on Chinine, a remote place were he could live in the wild. There was something about the lack of technology and people that so appealed to a select few. Ryuu must have been one of those people that needed life around him but not the kind that came from social interaction. He had sensed Ryuu’s presence close by on Chinine multiple times but had never ventured closer. He seemed distance and if he wanted company for whatever brief amount of time they would run into each other for, then he would seek him out.
His current journey had lead him to the planet of Alderaan, he had visited here a few times seeking Jedi to eliminate from the Order long ago. Perhaps it was ironic now that he was returning to do that opposite. The Blade of Shadows, a Warbird class cruiser, was keeping a steady orbit above the planet. It hadn’t bothered with its stealth drive; Zilfer wanted them to know he was coming. As of late he was sure those who were allies of Cain had come to know The Blade of Shadows as an omen; a symbol of approaching end.
He had chosen to stop atop a high hill in the Alderaan Mountains to revisit a site of what he would call murder. He had found at least ten Jedi Knights gathered at a small pool of a Force Nexus. Surprisingly he still felt the slightest bit of it left, even though he had probably sundered the Nexus with the deaths of ten individuals. There hadn’t been any warning when he attacked, just sheer offensive power dropping two of the unsuspecting Jedi. They wouldn’t even see the Shadow of the Emperor, the man named Nanashi. Who’s very name was “Noone”, “Nameless”, and “Annonomous.” He was the nothing that came in the night to wipe out the existence of enemies to the Emperor. It was a rather unfortunate, waste of life…
He had spent about a half hour meditating on nothing in particular just opening himself up to the force around him. The city below the mountains would be his next destination, no doubt they were preparing for his arrival thinking that they could possibly be the one to stop the traitor, and hunter that came in the darkness to erase the stain. Believing that a half myth was after them, and hoping that half human side was killable. He breathed in a deep breath once again and then exhaled…
His eyes opened, and he stood straight up out of his sitting position all the way up to his feet in one swift motion. Redemption was a long winding road, but who didn’t know that? He gripped the hilt of his Crystaline sword just to reassure himself that it was there and then headed down the mountain to the city of Alderaan, and then he would begin his search. No doubt he wouldn’t have to look long, they would find him.
