Name: Rane Solari
Species: Firrerreo
Age: 36
Sex: Female
Height/Weight: 5'7" 110lbs
Appearance: Rane is a beautiful young woman with deep violet eyes and long raven hair. Her skin tone is fair, unlike some among her species who have gold tinted flesh. Like most Firrerreo, however, Rane has longer than normal canine teeth, which is the only thing about her appearance which might be considered "sinister". Rane also has a tattoo under her right eye in a pattern which traces the path of a tear down her cheek.
Personality: For a Sith, Lady Solari is uncommonly approachable, charismatic and perhaps even pleasant. As a young Jedi, Rane was always quite sociable, but her likability was an "advantage" Rane never had any qualms taking advantage of. Drawing others close to her was an extremely effective way in which to make them pliable, open to suggestion. As a Jedi, Rane never intended such manipulations to be malicious, but the ability to affect the dispositions of even some of her superiors was a talent with potential Rane could not ignore.
A feeling of superiority eventually led Rane to betray her Jedi Master for the promise of higher power. Her decision to leave the Jedi had not been an easy one however, and the sting of the circumstances surrounding her master's end would linger. As a Sith, manipulation would come much easier to Rane. Though still extremely charismatic and charming, there is no doubt that Lady Solari is snake in the grass. Her greatest weapon is her ability to hide what she is from her unsuspecting prey.

From Humble Beginnings... (Age 0 - 4)
Rane Solari's life began on the Outer Rim world of Firrerre. Rane was the daughter of Adum Cross and Felicia Vel Tare. Both had been educators at the Firrerre's capital's University for many decades. After nearly fifty years of marriage the couple finally decided to it was time to have a child of their own.
Rane's time on Firrerre was brief, and her memories of her homeworld and her parents are sketchy, only images and flashes really. When Rane was four years old, the Jedi came to Firrerre. The Jedi were a Knight and Padawan pair who had come to the Outer Rim world on a humanitarian mission. The clan system of the Firrerreo operated as such that the Firrerreo cared very little for those outside of their own clan. As such, drastic class divides were created, and many Firrerreo outside of the capital lived in poverty and were near starvation. With the wealthy Firrerreo unwilling to give any kind of aid, it was up to the Republic to offer support.
Jedi Knight Ganner Dysar, along with his young Padawan, Xero, were sent to Firrerre to attempt to sway the sympathies of the Firrerreo government and people into action. Surprisingly it wasn't Ganner, but his Padawan Xero who first noticed Rane. Xero was an energetic and eccentric human boy, taking after his master Ganner Dysar in that respect. Xero was an orphan Ganner found to be Force sensitive while on Taris. The boy had no parents and no name of his own, so Ganner took it upon himself to name him. Ganner wanted to call him "Xero Dysar", but the Council suggested that the sharing of a last name might suggest an inappropriate level of closeness for Jedi. Thus the boy's name became just "Xero".
Xero found Rane while the Firrerreo Chancellor Elysar was escorting their honored guests on a tour of the capital. One of the center pieces of the tour was the University where Rane was one of many children beginning a higher education. With his attention span unable to follow the dry political banter between his master and Chancellor Elysar, Xero found himself wandering off on his own for a bit; mainly on a hunt for food. Master Dysar had a bad habit of skipping lunch, especially while he was preoccupied on a mission. During his hunt, Xero felt something strange, an abnormality in the Force. Still a learner, Xero's senses were still a work in progress. The disturbance could have been anything, Xero really had no idea how to decipher these feelings to find any sort of meaning. However, with his curiosity peaked, Xero attempted to follow the feeling to its source. The boy was a bit confused when it led him to a classroom filled with Youngling age children. They were being taught a form a mathematics that might as well have been Durese to Xero. He only had a few seconds to feel stupid, as his master tracked him down.
When Ganner asked Xero what he was up to, the Padawan explained the feeling that had led him here. Ganner felt it also, though he was able to determine what it was. The Force was flowing strongly from the black haired girl in the front row. It was stronger even then Ganner had felt it when he first met Xero on Taris.
The Jedi stuck around and found out the girl was the daughter of two of the professors at the university. Ganner requested a meeting with them, though neither Elysar nor even Xero knew exactly why. That afternoon, Ganner explained the situation to Adum and Felicia. Their daughter was gifted in the Force, and he wanted to bring her back to Coruscant to train to become a Jedi. At first, Adum and Felicia refused. They had waited much of their lives for a child, they didn't wish to have her taken away so soon. As Ganner continued to explain to them what exactly becoming a Jedi would mean, Xero was left to keep an eye on Rane just outside.
Rane asked Xero what the grown ups were talking about. The boy replied, "They're discussing taking you back to Coruscant, to become a Jedi like us."
Rane was only four years old, she had no idea what this meant, nor did she have any concept of the impact on her life this decision would make, "What's a Jedi?" She asked?
"We are," Xero shot back quickly, his answer extremely vague and unhelpful, though being ten years older than Rane, she accepted his explanation.
"Oh..."
After several hours of conversation, Ganner was able to convince Adum and Felicia that becoming a Jedi would indeed be the best thing for her. It would be hard for them, much harder then it would be for Rane, being so young. About four days later, after their mission to Firrerre was complete, the Jedi returned to the University to pick up Rane, and return to Coruscant.
Young Jedis (Age 4 - 12)
Rane found that life on Coruscant wasn't much different for her than her life as a student on Firrerre was. She was already well ahead of the other Younglings when it came to academics, such as reading, mathematics and science. Of course, all the talk about Jedi philosophy and the Force was just as new to her as it was to all the other Younglings.
Upon being brought to the Jedi Temple by Ganner Dysar, Rane was placed under the care of Jedi Master Si Quan, who was the Youngling instructor at the time. Master Quan was an older Epicanthix man with salt and pepper hair and a great love for his work with the youngest members of the Order. From the very beginning, Rane had little trouble fitting in with her fellow Younglings. She was a very outgoing, extroverted young lady who had very little trouble attracting others and inspiring their admiration. The other Younglings would follow Rane around between classes and would even jockey for her attention. Master Quan recognized this ability in his student as an extremely rare and special gift, and also one that could one day lead Rane into trouble if she were careless.
Master Quan taught Rane, along with all the other Younglings, the basics of the Force. The first thing they learned was meditation. It sounds simple, but teaching a room full of five to twelve year olds how to sit still and just listen was a monumental test of "Jedi patience". Luckily Master Quan was just the man for the job. Once Rane was able to meditate she slowly learned how to hear the Force within herself and all around her. Unlike many of the other Younglings, sitting still was not a challenge for Rane, she had an excellent ability to focus. When it came time to learn to use the Force to alter the environment around her, however, things did not come quite so easily. Telekinesis was never Rane's strong point, she was much more comfortable with passive uses of the Force, and her senses were quite highly attuned for a Youngling.
While manipulating objects with the Force gave Rane trouble, using a lightsaber came much more naturally. As a Youngling, Rane was one of the more skilled duelists in her class. She had all but mastered Shii-Cho by the time she was twelve, as that was the only saber form Master Quan taught to the Younglings. Rane had solid work ethic, was talented with a lightsaber and in some areas of the Force, and above all else was a very charismatic and popular young Jedi. By all accounts her future seemed bright.
All Grown up (Age 12)
At around the same time Rane was ready for a master, Xero was knighted into the Jedi Order. At 22 years old now, Xero had grown into a handsome and powerful Jedi Knight. He had long brown hair that he swiped over to the side to keep out of his eyes, and was also one of the few Jedi to wear glasses. At first, taking an apprentice was the last thing on Xero's mind upon becoming a Knight. However, after hearing from his old master, Ganner Dysar, about the progress of Rane, Xero requested to take her on. Rane had indeed gained quite a favorable reputation among the Jedi, and there was more than one master interested in taking her on as a Padawan. Ultimately the Council would decide on Xero, despite his youth. Xero was a Jedi Sentinel, and it was determined that his skill set was the best fit for Rane.
Though the two had not really spent any time together since the day they met on Firrerre, Rane and Xero had an instant rapport. Xero had developed a sharp wit and swagger from his old master which when combined with his sense of humor created a persona that Rane found strangely endearing. As a Jedi, Xero was talented, but still relatively green. Their missions together ofter were as much a learning experience for Xero as they were for Rane.
Their first mission as a pair was a rather mundane trip to Ralltiir, helping treat injured refugees at the local hospitals. There wasn't much action, but it was an opportunity for Rane to demonstrate her talent for healing. As a Youngling, Rane had a great ability to use the Force to augment her own body. This would translate in a talent for using the Force to heal herself, and eventually others as well. Xero hadn't quite expected his Padawan to handle herself so well on her very first mission away from the Temple, but it was a welcome surprise. Honestly Xero wasn't sure how he'd have dealt with it if she weren't able to function. Perhaps there was more wisdom in the Council's decision to pair them both up than he'd initially thought.
The Trials of Al'Har (Age 13 - 14)
A little over a year into her apprenticeship saw Rane's first real action as a Padawan. Several Jedi Knights were dispatched to Haruun Kal in the Al'Har sector of the Mid Rim in response to the mysterious disappearances of the children of the Korunnai people. The Korunnai were a tribe of humans who lived on the mountain tops of Haruun Kal, above the planets toxic clouds which choked the lowlands. Remarkably, nearly all of the Korunnai tribe were Force sensitive, and the Jedi Council suspected this may be part of the motivation behind the kidnappings.
Xero and Rane arrived along with several other pairs of Jedi. Their job was to provide additional protection during the mission, while most of the diplomacy was left to more experienced Masters. For the mission, Xero provided Rane with her first real lightsaber; a loaner for the time being.
