Bio: Jezred Chaulsin was born on a mid-rim planet called Aargonar which remained primarily under the Galactic senate’s control. Secret from the senate however, was of Jezred’s father, who while maintaining the guise of a normal citizen, was in actuality a Kumori runaway. Given his status of exile and a history unknown to any but himself and his now deceased wife, Ahmedar began to gather information about the Sith in order to form a hypothesis about whether they could be reasoned with or not. Thanks to this Ahmedar did eventually find reason to try to communicate with the sith, and to an extent his cause was successful. A total of three sith started to recognize that the constant fighting would completely rip apart any way of life either for the sith or the Jedi and so the Sith, Darth Malus, Darth Xifos, and Darth Inara, along with his father Ahmedar Chaulsin, struck a deal and began simply training together.
Among the three sith that joined his father’s cause and adopted the teachings of the Kumori with his father’s tutelage, Inara (formerly Darth Inara) took the biggest liking to Jezred. For a woman who had once been a sith she seemed surprisingly warm and accepting of him, and noting that he had the potential to become a force user, she even, on one occasion, removed the dark core crystal from her dark core red lightsaber and gave it to him. Unbeknownst to Jezred was the crystal’s rarity, and he wore it around his neck constantly up to the age of four. That was when, with Ahmedar’s permission, she began to train Jezred in the ways of the force. Originally Ahmedar had planned on training Jezred himself but thus far, Inara had proven to be the better force user in terms of skill and overall strength.
Training was brutal in every imaginable way. Inara would force Jezred to dodge, not block but simply dodge multiple lightsaber strikes. It was done with a training lightsaber but it still hurt. What she didn’t tell him, was that this training was to enforce his natural agility and speed and to ensure that he furthered the three things about him that he had surpassed her on as far as physical and mental attributes. When Jezred wasn’t training with Inara, he was watching his father train against Xifos and Malus. On one occasion, Ahmedar fought against Xifos while reading a book on quantum loop gravitational theory. To Jezred’s surprise, his father was standing ground. The effort seemed to require a great deal of focus, but as a whole his father was definitely the one on top. It probably helped that Xifos was the youngest and least experienced of the three but this placed a whole new level of fire in Jezred’s soul.
The very next training session he underwent with Inara, he pulled out one of his favorite books, at the age of five this was nowhere near the level his father was reading but it was a book on the a less complicated scientific principle. Unfortunately, Jezred wasn’t even close to his father’s skill level and while trying this, he was almost immediately disarmed with the trainingsaber at his throat. Expecting to be severely punished for being arrogant or impudent, Inara instead, encouraged this and so for the next year or so they fought, Jezred trying to read a book about a subject his father would be questioning him on later, while fighting with Inara. He never defeated her using this method, but when he gave her his full attention during battle, he noticed that their fights would last longer and longer until finally, one day, he was able to end a match in a draw… With Malus. Inara on the other hand would still beat him every time.
By eight years of age, Jezred had utterly mastered lightsaber training, having learned it along with his speed and reflex training techniques exclusively. The senate had even learned about Malus, Inara, and Xifos living with Ahmedar and had given them permission to stay there, ignoring their past as sith. This made learning from them easier and as Jezred continued his training in the ways of the force he was put through the ringer intellectually as well, his mind being an important trait to all of the people he currently called his family. On a number of occasions, Inara would toss him her red lightsaber (as she had a red one that had previously contained a dark core, and had recently made a blue one) and would have him disassemble it using the force and then reassemble it. However after so long of doing this, she stepped it up a notch, giving him only one minute to assemble it after disassembling it, then thirty seconds, then twenty; finally stopping at five seconds, making him charge at her, assembling it as he ran so that he could strike at the end of his charge. Though he never understood why this was so important, and wouldn’t until he was much older, he did manage to exceed her expectations.
By age ten it all seemed like a dream. Jezred had managed to surpass Xifos and Malus as far as light saber combat went and even inara had stated that she would only fight him using training sabers because a battle could go either way. The constant training blaster barrage that Jezred had been forced to undergo had surprised them by his mastery of harmonizing his own body and performing such feats as blocking the blaster bolts with his hands by shielding them with the force, pulling multiple blasters from the hands of the ones shooting at him (given that they acted as though they weren’t fully expecting it after he did it the first time), knocking all four of them down with a powerful outward wave of the force, and using his mind to control his trainingsabers in a pattern around his body and blocking or deflecting oncoming blaster bolts and melee attacks using them. For a ten year old force wielder in training, Jezred showed great promise to all of them and for once, the fruit of the dreams that Malus, Xifos, Inara, and Ahmedar had kept in mind up to this point was becoming a reality.
This reality all came crashing to an abrupt and sudden conclusion a group of sith descended upon Jezred’s house and family. Jezred, who was only 10 at the time, tried to fight back but it became quickly apparent that the person leading this group was far stronger. Unfortunately, Ahmedar, Xifos, and Malus had the same problem. Jezred’s father, realizing how the tide of battle in this case would turn, asked Inara to take Jezred and get as far away as she could, Jezred of course standing there beside her as his father asked. He wouldn’t give up though.
He had not yet made a lightsaber but he used the weapon he did have, the force. He launched large pieces of his house at the mysterious sith attackers, dodged actual lightsabers, deflected blaster bolts with his hands by using the force as a shield over his skin, and to the surprise of everyone of his family members watching, lifted one of the sith into the air with the force, creating a tornado around the hapless victim as he targeted the heart and lungs which he promptly gripped, channeling his anger through the force, and crushing the organs. As another attempted to throw objects at him using the force, so that he could close the distance, Jezred created a small vortex around him, drawing it closer to himself before violently bursting it outward, launching debris and different objects away from him. One of the basic powers that his father had taught him, the force leap, even came in handy as a rather large stone flew towards him. He leaped up into the air, landing on top of the stone slab and as soon as it landed, he jumped from it, simultaneously launching it back at the attacker, only to watch in horror as the one leading the assault, one bearing a blackcore red lightsaber snatched the rock and threw it back at Jezred, knocking him several feet back, most of which was accomplished as he rolled along the ground. The last thing he saw before he lost consciousness, was Xifos and Malus taking up arms against the remaining attackers. In that last moment before he passed out, Jezred realized something he had not noticed from sparring with the three males of his house. They had all severely held back on him.
Age 11, and the day that Jezred had fought back to protect his family still weighed heavily on his mind. He had failed to protect anything and his anger had take hold of him. Inara however, had learned something as well, Jezred was capable of attaining a level higher than her and in a short order of time he would do it if she trained him right. So train him she did, now focusing on his mastery of the force. Oh it was simple for things like the force orb but he, after watching her only once, took note of the physiological principles behind bio electricity and was able to recreate the effect after only the third try. He was far from mastery in that regard, though Inara took care to ensure that he did. He was made to learn about both the dark side and light side of the force and the associated powers therein. She taught him how to augment his natural bio electricity with the force so that he could use it to a fuller extent.
In less than six months he was launching force lightning like she was and by age 12 he was able to use the force lightning in a storm, encompassing an area, something that had taken Inara more time to learn than it had taken Jezred. Still thought, despite this and his lightsaber skills, and his natural speed and dexterity that allowed him to use two lightsabers at once, he still had not surpassed Inara in overall skill or force mastery.
He did, however, surpass her in the regard that he was much more creative than her. She had him master force lightning, and master it he did by the age of twelve. He was taught combat and force power use almost exclusively at this point, but Jezred was the one who figured out how to launch lightning separately from both hands, and Jezred was the one who figured out how to launch it from both hands to create and opposed lightning field between his hands and then wrap that in a telekinetic sphere and launch so that it would explode in a shower of force lightning. She was sure that he would surpass her at some point soon and that he would be a great Kumori master by the time he was age twenty though still she never told him of his heritage.
At age 13, she finally acknowledged him as her equal in the ways of the force. By this point his focus had gone up drastically, he had learned how to enter a frame of mind during lightsaber combat that augmented his morale and fighting spirit to a level that drove his lightsaber skills up even further. In the course of time that he had learned to do this though, he had also learned to heal himself with the force. Minor cuts, scrapes, or burns he could heal in a few minutes and while more serious injuries required meditiation, she could only theorize about what he could do with it. Obviously though, his organs would be another story. What was more, was that somehow he had managed to make it through all of his training without breaking any bones or obtaining any detrimental injuries. Finally, one day, while Jezred was training, she told him it was time to make his first lightsaber.
The training she had given him when he was younger, where he was forced to assemble the lightsaber while running, had deeply familiarized himself with the makeup of the lightsaber. First he meditated for three days, attuning himself to the lightsaber crystals that were available to him. One such crystal was the dark crystal that Inara had given him on his birthday many years before this point. Now that he recognized the value of it, he attuned it to himself, adjusting the design of his lightsaber so that he could put a secondary focusing crystal into his lightsaber. What he ended up with was a black lightsaber emanating with a white light. Inara was proud of his make and how he had adjusted in a way that truly made it his own.
“Now that you have your lightsaber, you are a knight. Moreover, the black core of your lightsaber, marks you as a unique warrior. I hereby declare you as a Kumori, in place of your father who wished to do this himself.” She said to him. Inara had come a long way from her sith background and was now warm and welcoming to a degree.
“For your first mission, I’m sending you to two different planets. One trip will be to planet Hurikane. You’ll need to obtain one of their crystals for the completion of your lightsaber as you had envisioned it. The second part of your mission will take you to Corulag. You’ll be entering an illegal fighting ring there, the prize for winning it is a crystal from a now extinct Volice worm. It’s called a Saphith Crystal and will be the focus crystal for the other half of your armaments.” She said to him.
It was hard for her to let him go out on his own, especially at the age of 13 but she didn’t imagine she would be seeing him for a while and the experience would harden him. With no one to depend on but himself, he would develop more quickly. She gave Jezred a corellian star ship so that he could travel to his destination planets, and gave him a hug before turning him off on his own.
During the course of his travels, Jezred trained daily on his ship. During the course of his trip to Hurikane, he did however think back to his father’s studies on loop gravitational theory, and while he hadn’t read into it too much, he began to think about the lessons on quantum principles of light and matter that his father had made him read. With those principles in mind, he began to act upon the wave-like qualities of light, bending the waves around him by harmonizing with them through the force and bending them around him. At first this effect was a field around him but he eventually learned to bring the field effect in closer and closer to him until he was able to create a mobile field around his body. It couldn’t have been better timing for he managed to master it only one day before arriving on Hurikane.
The voyage had taken two weeks but it only took two seconds after he landed on the planet for them to storm his ship and yank him off of it. Fortunately they let him keep his lightsaber (this in part to the fact that he kept it neatly hidden up his sleeve and had an empty lightsaber tube on his waist), but they kept him bound until they got him to stand before the elders.
“Young Jedi, what brings you to this planet?” One of the apparently high ranking creatures demanded.
“I’m not a Jedi, I’m here to ask for one of the purple crystals of this planet.” He explained. Apparently he would have been better off saying he was a Jedi for they seemed taken aback by the fact that he was carrying a lightsaber and was not a Jedi.
“Are you a sith then, intruder?”
“I am not a sith, I am here of my own accord as a personal request. My mission is completely peaceful.” He explained. In that instant, Jezred wished so desperately that something would happen that would allow him to prove himself. He got his chance in the form of a death threat only a few moments later and after another pointless round of questioning and another of the crystalline insectoid creatures rushing in shouting something in gibberish before the elder looked at him with scrutiny.
“It seems more of your kind have followed you outsider. We will deal with them and then with you.” It said. At that point Jezred closed his eyes. Another of the elders watched him carefully.
“I came alone, those people are not with me. If you let me go I’ll prove it." I said to them. As expected though, the elder walked away, ignoring his suggestion but the other that had been watching him, approached him once the room was empty. A shrill vibrating chiming sound came from the creature and it released his retraints.
Jezred stood now, looking at the creature but keeping his hands in an unthreatening position. He bowed deeply and looked at it for a second before saying “thank you” and rushing out of the crystal cavern. He used the force to augment his speed, another basic padawan trick, but an effective one in this case as he rushed out to confront the problem.
As soon as he was out of the cavern he noticed an all too familiar scene. This time though, he was more prepared. He took note of the location of the familiar dark core lightsaber which was wielded by the elder and in that moment a startling revelation came to mind. If this woman was alive, his father, Xifos, and Malus were dead. Jezred remained calm, he was angry, but he knew that it wouldn’t help him. Then he saw it, Xifos. It was Xifos stepping out of the ship that had carried the mysterious woman to this planet. He slid the lightsaber from his sleeve, and rushed, force leaping forward and bringing his lightsaber down on one of the three sith that was there. Xifos, once again Darth Xifos, remained at the back but as Jezred’s mind entered its battle-trance, he brought himself as close to the force as he could, attempting to synchronize with it fully. He knew this to be an impossible task but the attempt definitely made him more capable in battle.
The sith Jezred had attack blocked as predicted but he wasn’t about to step there, with his palm held outward, he made an unarmed attack against the fighter and as soon as his hand made contact, he launched both a blast of force lightning from his hand before attacking with a violent force push. A whiring/buzzing sound started to move closer to him, causing him to duck down low, but in an instance his hand reached back behind him, force gripping the thrown lightsaber and deactivating it. In less than an instant after that, he force pulled the light saber towards him and slashed through the first sith before wrapping force lightning around his blade and cutting through Darth Xifos’s thrown lightsaber. At age thirteen Jezred Chaulsin had become a formidable opponent and Xifos realized this as he pulled out a second red lightsaber from his belt.
Jezred held the force closer to him, drawing from it as a whole rather than from one side or another, and it that regard he felt confident. He let go of his lightsaber, whirling it around him telekinetically using the force as it blocked some stray blasts from the Hurikane natives. Meanwhile, Jezred attacked Xifos, dodging lightsaber strikes and in one instance where he found he had been cornered, Xifos struck, confident that his lightsaber would finish the job but Jezred blocked the blow with his hand, wrapping the force around his hands and arms, and taking in Xifos’s blow while gripping his lightsaber once more with his right hand and cutting off one of his enemy’s legs.
“Why?!” He shouted. “Why did you betray my father, and Malus. Why did you join-“
“Darth Tivara.. Lady of the sith and the one who orchestrated the assault on your house, gave your father and Malus the same option. Join her or die. They chose death and her student Darth Inara would have done the same as me in the same situation.” Xifos explained, cutting Jezred off. “Your father was weak, Malus was weak, and Inara was a coward. The strongest of us ran off with a kid like you. They’ll all get what they de-“ This time it was Jezred who cut Malus off as he lifted Xifos up in the air using the force, and with all his might, crushed everything he could picture as Xifos’s being. The result was the sith warrior imploding, defeated and broken as his ribs erupted from his body as his flesh tore over them.
Seeing this, the one known as Darth Tivara, only smirked. She had only come here with three sith and this boy, the one she had let go with her former apprentice had managed to destroy two of them. Moreover the destruction of the second one was from a power she had only seen from sith lords. With only her left she was forced to retreat but before that, she threw a lightsaber, deactivated though it was, to Jezred.
“Tell Inara to get back in touch with her old master.” She said to him cooly as she walked onto her ship. The thrusters started, the ship was set to take off, but for some reason it was not moving. A guttural roar escaped Jezred’s throat and he gripped the ship with all of his might. By this point the Hurikane natives noted how Jezred had fought for them and began to fire at the ship. Tivara didn’t have time to stay here and get shot at as she had decided that a failed attempt to obtain the crystals of the Hurikane planet natives would result in a stern tongue lashing from the other members of her group. Using her own considerable power she resisted Jezred’s pull and while she acknowledged that in a pure battle of wills he would have won, but her powers were working in conjunction with the ship's attempts to take off. It took only seconds for her to break away and in just as little time she was out of range of the blasters.
With the battle over, Jezred collapsed to one knee, panting heavily and he gripped the lightsaber that she had thrown him and slid his own back in his sleeve and out of sight. With that he picked up the one she had thrown him and placed it on his belt.
“Apparently, we were wrong about you young one. Here, take your crystal that you came here for and leave. We do not enjoy being indebted to anyone, let alone an outsider.” The elder said to him, dropping a hurricane crystal, presumable from the body of one that Tivara had cut down, into his hand. With a bow he turned and headed back to his ship but soon came back out, walked up to one of the fallen and piecing it back together with the force. He telekinetically moved each piece together and then used the healing aspects he had learned from Inara to keep the pieces together.
Once the crystalline insectoid had been placed back together, Jezred proceeded to work on several others. For two months, Jezred remained there, healing and repairing the fallen crystalline natives. Finally when he was ready to leave, he had attuned the gifted Hurrikane crystal to himself and placed it in his lightsaber. Jezred’s main weapon now held a black core with a violet outer blade.
It took seven months to get to Corulag. With that knowledge in mind, Jezred continued to work on his force power mastery. He practiced extending the force wraps from his arms to the rest of his body and in six months, had learned to make a protective bubble around himself (and presumably others) in order to block attacks. Thus far it had only been tested against practice blasters but it had shown great promise minus the fact that it was very very draining.
One month before landing on Corulag, Jezred took a day off… His birthday. Usually Inara would take him somewhere nice to eat, being his closest thing to a big sister, it was nice to know that someone cared about him enough to do that. On this day, he simply dreamed, but most of the rations on his ship were used up and now he would have to resupply before going back to Inara.
On corulag, Jezred got his first taste of reality. Lesson number one, don’t trust anyone. On day one there someone tried to pickpocket him (something he immediately caught and deterred). Lesson number two, information isn’t cheap, the few credits he had on him were used to pay for information as to where the underground tournament was. Lesson three, if you want to sleep, make sure you’re sleeping lightly. If he hadn’t had as much training as he’d gone through he would have gotten ripped off his first night in. Still he quickly became accustomed to life on corulag and even managed to pick up a job delivering goods to businesses, all the while, keeping his training as a force user secret. To those around him he was just a really capable fighter and he liked this image because as he worked for two months, at the age of 14, as a delivery boy, he wanted it to be known when he entered the tournament.
On the day of the fights, Jezred was awoke to the sound of blasters. Apparently one of the fighters from last year was entering and at the bottom floor of the hotel, was gunned down, being accused of cheating as he hadn’t taken any injuries. As it turned out the man had three brothers that looked exactly like him and had been switching them out as he went through. With that known, he made a mental note to let himself get hit a few times and take some superficial injuries and then let himself heal naturally so that he didn’t arouse and suspicion. With that known, he walked down to the basement of the hotel, his credits safely stored in the bank, and entered his first match.
“Today we have a rare treat. Returning runner up from last year’s tournament Raz Togil from Correscant.” At this the crowd jeered. And his opponent, a newcomer and a gambler at that, at the age of 17 (oh yes Jezred did lie about his age and his name) the newcomer from am I pronouncing this right? Some planet called ‘Hekatine.’ Oh well, the fighter’s name is Zed Noir.” The announcer finally finished. The crowd was divided, some cheering for the new face, others booing for the obviously fake name. Bearing that in mind he simply ignored them and prepared for the fight.
Predictably, Raz charged forward and Jezred of course simply moved out of the way. If Raz would fight with brute strength, Jezred would follow with dexterity and end it at that. What Jezred had neglected to factor in, was that his punches were going to do less damage and he found this out as his first hit barely scuffed him up. The heavily built gigantic humanoid proceeded to attack once more and Jezred used his speed, side-stepping and moving extremely close, in that moment, he also grabbed the man’s jaw and as Jezred went to step once more, he applied his own body weight to the man’s head and stepped hard, all in one direction. As a result, Raz’s head smashed hard into the solid stone floor. With that Jezred stepped back, allowing the man to get back up.
To his surprise, Raz’s head was only just bleeding. With the fact that he couldn’t allow himself to be defeated in mind, Jezred wrapped his hands with force and as Raz went to punch, Jezred stepped forward and under the man’s arm, hitting him with both fists and knocking the man backwards to the ground, winded and unconscious from the blow to his solar plexus. For a moment, the crowd remained silent, then, just as suddenly, they all began to scream and cheer.
“The win goes to Zed Noir. Best of luck with the rest of your matches.” The announcer said, somewhat less than emphatically.
The next two days of Jezred’s matches went smoothly, no more giant wookie wannabes and, to his surprise, another force user. His opponent was older though but still rough around the edges and highly untrained in unarmed combat and though Jezred wasn’t too much better, he at least had books and the heavy training he had undergone at Inara’s hands. On day three though, his luck changed. This wasn’t a wookie wannabe, this was a full-fledged wookie and Jezred was not looking forward to it.
Presumably, wookies had roughly the same anatomy as humans but there was no way to tell for sure and he knew the crowd would know something was up if he was blocking a wookie with what would seem to be his bare hands. He had to think, unfortunately he didn’t get the chance. The wookie charged at him with full strength, roaring loudly, and as Jezred went to block, the monkey punched him in the stomach, launching him across the room and into a wall. He was happy to have the muscle over his frame but oh how that had definitely hurt.
The rest of the match went about as expect, Jezred dodging, moving out of the way but as he did this he realized the significance of training in the lightsaber duels while reading a book. It allowed him to think while fighting. Thanks to that he came up with a strategy, and as the wookie ran towards him, he did the one thing the wookie would never expect, he ran towards it. As he ran though, he dropped to the ground and slid, knocking the wookie off balance, and almost as quickly, he jumped onto the wookie’s back, smashing its head into the ground over and over until it lost consciousness. Again the crowd screamed, jeering at the young ‘Zed Noir’ defeating the wookie known as Kaft.
As the semifinals approached, Jezred realized that he had been on corulag for a total of almost three months now and he was ready to leave and go back home. However, on the day of the semifinals, Jezred found out exactly why this match was illegal. As they entered he found that in his waiting room, Jezred had a very lovely female assistant who offered him weapons. With a quirked eyebrow, Jezred haphazardly accepted the vibroblade. It was heavy compared to his lightsaber but it was usable. He wore it at his waist, trying to mimic one of his lightsaber styles and as his opponent came out he realized exactly why it wasn’t going to work. His opponent was one of Tivara’s sith, he knew this from the crest that had been on her ship. Originally he had thought nothing of it but as it turned out, this was a significant factor in her appearance.
“And for our first semifinal match, Arias Thorn versus Zed Noir, the kid from Hekatine that has captured all of our hearts, and wallets. Fighters, begin!” The announcer finished as the fight began. Apparently Arias wasn’t going to bother hiding the fact that he was a force user and with a speed that almost couldn’t be achieved without using the force, he charged. Bearing that in mind, Jezred also chose to use force enhanced speed and so the two fought, their blades singing a low sorrowful song as they clashed, but finally, Jezred managed to get an opportunity to end it. In an instant, a fast cut removed the enemy’s sword arm and a circular slash removed the remaining arm and both legs. With this done, Jezred simply turned and walked away from the arena. Or at least he would have if it hadn’t been for two large wookies blocking his path.
“Fight is to the death ki-“ before the announcer could finished informing Jezred of the rules, the vibroblade had left his hand and embedded itself in the skull of the fallen enemy sith.
“winner! Zed Noir. Damnit how the hell am I supposed to make any money, the first time I bet on-“ Again the announcer stopped short, this time though, because he realized he had left the microphone on. With that ‘Zed’ Walked to his room at the hotel.
The final day, Jezred walked out into the arena, this time grabbing two vibroblades and stepping out expecting an epic battle against an interstellar badass. As soon as he walked out onto the field though, he was declared the winner. It was an odd turn of events, but apparently the other finalist had forfeited on account of being late for his next birthday. The opponent had succumbed to injuries derived from his last match during the semi-finals. Anticlimactic as it was, Jezred was glad. He needed to heal his bruised ribs from his battle with the wookie and he needed to rest someplace safer than here, like the middle of a black hole.
After being presented with his prize, which he tested to ensure it was the real article, Jezred took his Sapith crystal and left. On the way back to Inara, Jezred took the parts from the lightsaber that Tivara had thrown to him, and started fitting pieces into the empty lightsaber tube that he had brought with him. After six days of mediation he had prepared the sapith crystal and the remaining fragment of the Hurikane crystal as his lightsaber focus and primary crystals. The result was a dark violet glowing blade of brilliant light. The heat coming off it was pretty intense and while that was definitely very nice, this would be his offhand weapon.
When Jezred returned to Inara’s space station, he found the place looked like it had been ransacked. Several blast doors had been slammed shut and some even had dents. He rushed frantically, searching for her, but when he found her he wished he hadn’t. She lay there, dead, and in her hand was a hologram. Given the way it wasn’t burnt like the obvious lightsaber cuts on her body and the blaster marks on the rest of the area, he had come to the conclusion that she had grabbed it from a hiding place after her attackers had left. After picking up the holochron he watched it carefully, his back to the wall so that he couldn’t be taken by surprise, and he readied himself to take in whatever was on it.
As soon as he pushed the button, Inara’s image came up on it just as he had expected.
“Jezred, if you’re watching this it means that I’m already dead. My old master, Darth Tivara, the one who gave me this name, originally told her apprentices which consisted of me, Xifos, and Malus; to search for young children who could be trained as sith and further her cause. She wanted only the best and when your father was looking to convert us to view the light side of the force as an equal factor in an equation, we were almost speechless. It had been so easy to infiltrate and find someone with a child who could be easily trained to become a sith lord. Over time though, Xifos, Malus, and I all thought of you as our little brother and we wished to train you and accept what your father was teaching. You are descended from a group of people called the Kumori. They excel at using both sides of the force but in the past they lost their way, fell from grace, and were essentially spread thin by their own arrogance according to what I’ve been able to gather.
I don’t know how much of what I know is accurate but what I do know is that you need to find another Kumori Master who can teach you something your father wanted to teach you called “the shadow arts.” I’ve barely been able to find any texts and what I’ve been able to piece together is that you’re going to have trouble finding anything about them, but while you’re searching the galaxy for someone to teach you these things, know that my master is searching for you as well. She has seen you and she wants to continue the training but to extend the sith touch to it. It’s an empty existence and you can never trust anyone in that kind of a life. Right now you need to continue your training and gain further tutelage.
To that end, I have a friend, one you can trust and one that will be happy to teach you everything she knows. Her name is Seren Coltor and you’ll be able to find her on Ansion, an mid-rim planet near vortex and Bilbringi. She will continue to teach you the things that I cannot and could not in life. Don’t give up hope, you will be fine. You must destroy this holochron though. Self destruct this space station and go, quickly. There is an cargo ship in the docking bay, leave with that and make haste.” The message did explain a lot and it answered quite a few questions but it also created new ones. What were the shadow arts? Did the Kumori follow the same beliefs as his father? Where should he start looking for a Kumori master? Right now all he could do was trust in his master and so with that, he left, self destructing the space station as per her request, though he knew that would only alert Darth Tivara that someone had escaped. Ignoring that fact though, he headed toward Ansion, eager to meet this Seren Coltor.
Upon Reaching Ansion, Jezred was quickly taken aback by her appearance. She was beautiful, young, smart, and practiced. At the age of only 24 she herself was an accomplished young Jedi Master. Jezred sincerely looked forward to training with her and he continued learning the ways of the force from this new master, foreign though she was to him. With her though, his lightsaber skills were pushed to the limit, for she too was a dual blade user and she could easily keep up with him. Still Jezred fought against her day after day with training sabers, a never ending necessity in his learning processes. She would ask, while the fought, about his combat experiences and at first, this seemed to distract him but as they continued to spar and Jezred continued to get better, he would regale her on the tales of his adventures away from home and it seemed to help him refocus himself. She taught him to incorporate the force into attacks, swinging, striking, blocking, using force push and force pull, and even lightning attacks to devastate enemies. Then she started teaching him how to incorporate his speed and agility into the mix.
They did this until Jezred’s sixteenth birthday, his training having gone exceptionally well and he had managed to surpass even Seren with just two years of the additional training. Things were definitely different here and his skills had gone from exceptional to exemplary. Melee weapons in general were his forte and while he had used blasters before, he simply could not wrap his mind around how to use them in an efficient manner. It was fine however, as Seren had made sure that deflecting and reflecting blaster shots were in his repertoire of talents and skills. He would use his hands or feet now, as wrapping the force around his limbs required less concentration for him than one would normally expect. His talents at simply channeling the force and his telekinetic gifts were his strongest suits. By now it was decided that Jezred could serve as an excellent Jedi knight and someday, Jedi master. In the short time that they had spent together, Seren had pretty much adopted Jezred as her little brother. Like the days of the past, this was also to be short lived.
The day that Inara’s Master came was a wakeup call for Jezred and Seren. Darth Tivara had finally come to collect Jezred and as he hid, per Seren’s request, he could not help but this this was the last time he would get to see her again. He hid very well, concealing himself with the force and bending the light around his body just as he had learned to do three years ago. By hiding like this he was able to stand less than twenty feet away, hiding in plain sight without his master or Tivara’s knowledge, as he watched his master battle viciously with a Sith he had never been able to truly test himself out against. His master’s beautiful Permafrost lightsaber traced along a specific pattern and she used some things she had learned from Jezred, such as fighting while turning the lightsaber on and off in order to take advantage of the sudden attack possibilities, but in the end, Seren was not better than Tivara.
As Seren was stabbed, and she fell down in a heap on the ground, Jezred force pushed the sith lady with every bit of his might, sending her flying several yards back but not onto her back. Two masters, two people he had cared about had been killed because of him. He was angry, he was hurt, but he was also extremely focused. His skills in every category had been honed to a fine point and he would not dishonor his teachers by throwing all of their training away.
He lept into the air, spinning like a cat would to land on his feet but his lightsabers both flew from his hand. They spun in a wave like pattern, complex but in reality they were like the electrons in an atom, with the difference of course that they were controlled. When she went to swing inside his guard a saber was suddenly there, when she attacked another saber would be there to block while the second countered. Finally, when she had disrupted his flow by forcing his sabers to block her force lightning and a blow made it inside his guard, she was astonished to see him block the saber with his hand, wrapped of course with force energy. Inara marveled over this, and didn’t happen to notice as the both sabers, with her lightning trapped by his lightning against the blades, returned to his hands and, with one blade striking and with force lightning exploding against her lightsaber, forcing the blade to the side and causing her grip to loosen as the second blade, also wrapped with force lightning struck her lightsaber again, knocking it from her hand and forcing her back against a wall. She did manage to get up, however shakily. With this movement she asked him to be her apprentice. At that moment he realized that he was so angry that he had come full circle. He charged though, ready to destroy this woman who had caused him so much pain.
“You have killed my father,” He said calmly as he launched a force blast against her chest.
“Malus, my brother,” His voice was still unmistakably calm as he charged force lightning between his hands and then launched a force orb at her, which she dodged, she did not however, dodge the explosion of force lightning which further weakened her.
“My master, Inara,” his tone rose now, but his voice was still calm only slight anger apparent as he stretched out his hand, swirling wind and telekinetic energy around her to create a maelstrom which lifted her up into the air. She retaliated to this though, launching force lightning back at him which he rolled to the side to avoid. As her buzzing, telekinetically thrown lightsaber launched at him, the dark core with the red blade mirroring his own weapon, he wrapped force lightning around his blade and blocked it with his own dark core lightsaber before slashing the hilt with his Sapith crystal lightsaber.
He then force jumped, flipping backwards against a wall and used force speed to fly straight at her, punching her in the face with a hand wrapped in force energy and passing her to leap off of another wall.
“And even my master,Seren!” This time he yelled, his voice showing his anger as he knocked her out of the air and into the ground, force blasting her into the ground harder before landing on her spine with the heel of his foot. He then lifted her up in the air telekinetically and slammed her down on the ground repeatedly. He could sense it though, somehow she was still alive, and he took care to fix that. He lifted her into the air, her battered and bruised body severely weakened from the beating thus far, and targeted her entire being just as he had done to her subordinate on Hurikane.
“Farewell.” He said his voice once again completely calm as her flesh flayed open to reveal her ribcage as her internal organs imploded and she fell to the ground as nothing but a bloody mass. With that done, and only one real reason to travel remaining, he left, taking his master Inara’s cargo ship and heading to various outer rim planets in search of a Kumori master but he soon started to go hungry as the supplies on the ship dwindled.
It was almost by accident, his cargo ship was destroyed after multiple fights and he couldn’t fight anymore with it. A group of mercenaries and bounty hunters managed to capture him, but instead of killing him, they threatened him, cajoled him, and browbeat him into working for them. Unfortunately, they had no way of knowing that the fake name he had given them (Zed Noir), and the star cruiser that they lent him to do their bidding was all he needed to free himself from them. He completed the mission, collecting a huge debt from a poor family and when he came back he invited them onto his ship, using a holographic droid they had provided him, while he used the force to conceal himself. The mercenary group walked onto the ship which promptly exploded.
After dealing with the mercenary group though, Jezred decided that would be a good job move and he used a portion of the money to buy a cargo freighter because he wanted to be able to move around inconspicuously. He returned the rest of the money to the family that he had confiscated it from to appease the mercenary gang to which the family, lovingly took him in and told him to come back if ever he needed food or supplies.
Now at age 19, Jezred Chaulsin is a strong, independent, capable young grey jedi. Over the course of his occupation as a mercenary, he has managed to obtain a small number of ships including an assassin class corvette, a Tie Phantom, a stealth X starfighter, and another cargo freighter. He is alone though one day, with enough support he has decided he might create a mercenary gang, one that does things right while simultaneously getting the job done. Given enough time and money, Jezred dreams to start ”The Salivan Mercenary Gang.”

Training after joining the brotherhood
Over the course of his days wandering the galaxy, Jezred spent much time wondering about ther perplexities of the force. It was during this time that he began to start training more heavily, doing what he could on his ship, but he would often go into crowded areas and try to coerce people into doing something he wanted. Over time he began to feel his will power growing stronger but that would not be enough. Existential discrepancies had lead him to believe that nothing he was doing right now would be his limit. Afterall, to have been this strong at the age of 19, there had to be more he could accomplish.
One part of the process involved his understanding of his telekinetic powers. He had pulled ships out of the sky but in the past, the thrusters had posed an issue in the past, though he could now firmly ignore that. What he sought to do this time, would be to not only grab the ship, but to combine it with what he had learned about disassembling and reassembling his lightsaber. He spent several days meditating in a galactic junkyard but he was determined.
The toxic fumes around him went largely ignored as he upgraded his metabolism using the force to filter out the poison. Meanwhile, he pulled a broken down x-wing from the scrap heaps and began focusing his mind on each individual part. Within two weeks he had learned the basics of ship structure to a degree that would allow him to start disassembling the ship while he held it. He even practiced moving it back and forth as he learned to disassemble its outer hull, part of its inner hull, and rip off the thrusters. Furthermore, in the event where time was of the essence he began to practice crushing the ships into balls of metal using the same principles he had used to crush the woman who had killed his family.
At first the practice was difficult, ships took more effort than a human but the force was not limited by his physical form, only by his personal reality. It only took a week to expand upon the knowledge that he already had and learn to crush the ships. Despite this, anything much bigger than a tie-fighter or an x-wing would be a bit beyond his abilities to crush, although he would probably still be able to pull it out of the sky. This lead him to wonder what he could further do to increase this power but besides adding force lightning to the mix he was having a little trouble. That was when he remembered it, combustion.
He began by playing with the fundamental aspects analyzed in Solan Lissier’s book “spontaneous combustion: principles and dynamic exothermic physiological reactions.” Unfortunately, this didn’t help him with combusting inorganic matter. The concepts involved would imply that enzymes were necessary to catalyze the combustion reaction but there had to be a simpler way. That was when the idea came to him. What if he used his own physiological reactions as the template? With that he expanded upon the bioelectrical signals that comprised his body’s neurological system. He then targeted specifically the flammable gases in the atmosphere, ranging from hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen and breaking their chemical bonds with the force. The result was a small, but powerful explosion, catalyzed by electricity. It was awkward at first, and energy consuming, but eventually he did learn a simpler way. He would reach out with the force and simply increase the pressure, forcing the gases closer together and igniting them.
Once he had gotten a hold of combustion, he started to reach out, gripping things with the force and crushing them. He even managed to grab larger ships and objects and would counteract their size by disassembling them and combusting them as he crushed them. Obviously he still wouldn’t be able to do this with flagships or star destroyers but he was prepared to be creative with them. Of course he also experimented with combusting things as he used his force repulse ability. He watched as he exploded the fire outward and combined with the wind he had learned to create with the force, he would cause a raging inferno to expand from him as well and after seeing the devastation it caused to the ship yard, the molten metal dripping down and further damaging other objects. With that scene in his mind, he left the planet and headed for Corruscant.
Once he arrived at Corruscant, he picked up training his telepathic powers as he had not done any work with it in a while. At first it was easy, standard junkies were simple enough to trick, but he began trying to copy what the second presence had done to him while he was fighting scar. He influenced their minds, implanted thoughts and made them believe different things about themselves. In one instance he even managed to make a large burly man who had tried to rob him, believe that he was a seven-year-old girl. He felt confident now that he could probably handle fighting off others and influencing people with moderate to semi strong wills. It was another two weeks of work and in the mean time he hadn’t been taking any missions from the brotherhood. He was however, hopeful, that after this he would be more useful, and he hoped he could maybe handle scar.
The next and final step of Jezred Chaulsin’s intergalactic training, was to work on training his body. For this he flew to fellucia where he practiced with the natives, using the force only to enhance his speed, strength, or reflexes in order to keep up with them. He refused to use his lightsabers, and would not use the force to attack them and he learned a lot about physical condition as he got repeatedly beaten down for the first three weeks. After that though, he started to catch on shortly after that and he would use his force powers in small spurts, the fellucia natives were doing it as well, the force sensitive natives were enhancing their physical features and they were damn good at it. Jezred had learned to heal faster and better from all the beatings he was taking. He learned to enter his battle trance more quickly, it had become a matter of life and death. He continued this training for another week, extending his skills as far as he could within that amount of time. It was now time to head back to the Brotherhood and pick up his next mission.
As he left fellucia, a small group of the natives attacked from seemingly nowhere. One of them kicked dirt into his eyes. He fought though, dodging and moving, paying attention to the feelings he sensed from each one and the way the wind seemed to move as it went around them. Darkness became sounds and movements. After reflexive dodging, blocking, and counter attacking, Jezred could open his eyes finally. When he did he noted the position of each one of the natives on the ground. He had indeed been the one to knock them unconscious. Apparently the time he had spent on that planet had increased his force sensitivity and the wind which he normally used as a method of attack, had suddenly become his greatest defense now. Over time he would learn to move like a leaf blowing in the wind, and utilize this new tactic whenever it became possible.
After age 21[/i][/u]
Shortly after the battle on Korriban, Jezred returned to Coruscant and purchased and located a space station which chose to set up at an undisclosed location. Once it was fully operational, he proceeded to see to the personnel. He was fairly selective, choosing mostly federation friendly people, though this was not completely the case. Several women were chosen that had been trained at the imperial academy but a number of these had actually only gone because of the fact that they wanted an education and the empire had readily taken them in. Over the course of several months, all the ragtag employees he now had, which did also include several skirrans, Aing-Tii, and various other races began to work together and the space station was set up as a place where refugees could rest and perhaps start a life of their own outside the influence of the empire.
One particular employee, the head mechanic, was a Kiffar Human that had learned from Jezred back when they were only kids about combat and controlling his emotions. Of course they had both gotten much better at what they did since then but the fact was that they knew each other. And the second-in-command of his station was Tala, jezred’s human replica droid but none of the currently enlisted people knew that about her as she was expertly done and had more than enough knowledge to run things in Jezred’s absence. Baring her, Azel, the mechanic was left in charge. He had a good heart and more than enough talent to run the station as well. Most of the time Jezred was fine with calling the shots and rarely were the others left in charge, but one day, Jezred disappeared, his assassin class corvette and his TIE phantom were both gone, and he hadn’t even left a note. Not even the brotherhood, Jezred’s currently employer, knew where he had disappeared to.
The reason Jezred hadn’t told anyone where he was going was because he had gotten a distress call from a nearby space station, the person from the message had said they were a former student of Darth Inara, his former master. He hadn’t thought about the situation that had led to her death in a long time but now it would seem that his past was catching up to him. It didn’t take him long to find this former student. This time he wouldn’t be caught unaware, this time he would finish it quickly, and no one that he knew would have to worry about getting hurt or killed because of him. He couldn’t decide if fear or hatred guided his actions, but the conscious decision to pursue this problem was already made, and he wasn’t about to give it up on protecting his friends.
The message he had received originated on Kiffu. The planet already had some minor battles going on but more than that, he felt that the person who had only addressed themselves with the initials “K.S.” was here. Searching only mattered for a few moments as he followed his feelings to an abandoned warehouse.
“So nice to finally meet you! I’ve heard so much about you Jezred Chaulsin.” A voice spoke from the shadows. Jezred closed his eyes for a second before opening them and looking at his surroundings not just with his eyes, but with the force. After a quick scan of the warehouse he could only help but think that the person was hiding themselves with the force.
“Yes, I’m Jezred Chaulsin, and you are?” Zed responded. At the person who had referred to himself as K.S. revealed himself, and he looked angry.
“Kendar Sol! First apprentice of Darth Inara?! Master of the dark side of the force?! Sith Lord?!” He screamed. He looked insane but Jezred sensed truth in his words.
“She never said anything about you, I’ve never heard of you from anyone else, and I did have another master after she was murdered by a Sith.” Jezred responded.
“Liar!! Tivara told me you killed her! Tivara told me, that, and she said you killed Tivara too!!” Still screaming Kendar continued to annoy Jezred, but now he was starting to get angry.
“I tell the truth, I killed Tivara, gladly, but I would never have hurt Inara. She was killed by Tivara!” At the last part Jezred started to yell. A feeling came over him like his emotions were being touched by some outside force. Despite this Jezred attempted to keep his emotions in check.
“ You’re lying! You’re lying!!” Kendar screamed, this time his fury and frustration was channeled into the force and took the form of a sonic wave. This was something Jezred had absolutely not expected and as a result he was pushed back, just barely using his force repulse to shrug away the energy, and force shield to block the remaining oncoming force shout. Moreover, Jezred was now angry as well.
“You accuse me of dishonoring my master, of killing her, it was Tivara, your second master that killed her!” And with that he focused his seething hatred into a glare, he pictured it as a huge wave all around him and finally those waves became little circles the size and shape of his eyes, as it did he fit that energy over his eyes and channeled it toward the enemy before him. Jezred’s eyes turned red with a dark black slitted pupil as he did this and the energy flowed toward Kendar (who had become visible after unleashing the force shout). In an instant, Kendar had moved, leaving only his left arm in Jezred’s line of sight. That left arm suddenly started dissolving, pain wracking the owner. A split second later, Kendar had drawn his lightsaber and cut the offending appendage off.
Jezred panted heavily after using the power. He noted that he could do it and wondered still if there was a counter for it, but right now wasn’t the time to try to overexert himself. What Jezred had failed to realize was that this place was a droid manufacturing facility and that, while it had been shut down, it was still full of active droids. Kendar telekinetically activated the facility’s backup generator and just as he did, a large group of droids began to swarm the facility.
“I used the force to reprogram all of these droids to obey me. Now, destroy him!” He shouted as the droids turned on him, some of them firing blasters.
Three hundred droids fired at him and all Jezred could do was activate his force protection. There were simply too many though, and within minutes he was starting to feel the drain. That, however, was when he got an idea. He began to soften his shield as he prepared his telekinetic energies into a powerful force repulse. Combined with the combustion effect he had learned to apply to it before, many of the droids around him were melted. His own training had managed to strengthen his force prowess past what his masters had expected from him.
