Bio: Alex is the son of Yuki Uramachi, the Mitsukai Elder, and Zilfer "of Shadows", the Wandering Kumori. Alex knows not of his father. Zilfer left when Alex and his sister Akari were very, very small. Alex held no great love for their absentee father, unlike his sister Akari. His sister loved to hear their mother's stories about him, but Alex did not. Alex and his mother and sister lived on Chinine in the old Kumori village. Alex's mother Yuki would bring them to the waterfall outside of town and as Alex and Akari swam in the water, their mother would meditate under the waterfall. When Alex and Akari were three, Yuki took them to Coruscant, she did not tell them why. Alex and Akari were excited about seeing such a big city. Yuki took them all the way to the Jedi Temple.
Jedi Initiate Life (3-11)
Yuki talked with the Jedi Council and the Council tested Alex and Akari's capabilities. The next thing the children knew they were saying goodbye to their mother and meeting the other younglings. Alex was assigned to the Squall Clan. The initiates in Squall Clan were told that it was because they were swift and agile. Upon entering into the Squall Clan, the clan began basic training in the Order's academy. In the morning they would have Force studies, political science classes, and study the histories of the universe. At midday they would have their midday meal. Alex sat next to a purple twi'lek girl named Ly'ara. Ly'ara was 10 years old, she was old enough to be a padawan already. Soon she would go through the Initiate Trials. She was kind of like an older sister to him; she helped him cope with his feeling of abandonment. After their meal they went to do physical training to hone their bodies into prime condition. Ly'ara seemed such a natural at physical training, she was like an acrobat. Alex was mediocre at best. After Physical Training they were given time to meditate and read their Jedi Initiate Handbooks. Alex caught up with Ly'ara.
"Could you teach me, you know, to be as good as you?" Alex asked pleadingly. Ly'ara laughed, she thought it was funny. She took him to the Room of a Thousand Fountains. Inside younglings were meditating. The Initiates had to fit in 7 different meditations in one day. Ly'ara sat down cross-legged in front of the fountain, away from the other younglings. She encouraged him to do the same. Alex sat down and frowned. He wanted to be good at fighting quickly. Ly'ara looked over at him and told him to close his eyes and breathe deep. "Listen to the fountains, let the noise fill you and breathe." Alex closed his eyes and listened to the fountains; he concentrated on the noise. Soon, he lost himself; he was completely immersed. He opened his eyes and Ly'ara was gone. He realized that he had been meditating for an hour. He went back to where his clan was supposed to meet up.
By the time he was 7 years old, he saw less and less of Ly'ara. He felt almost completely alone. He hardly got to see his sister since joining the academy, and when he did see her she was always too busy for him. He also had not seen his mother at all since joining. She apparently had visited a couple of times but not to see her kids.
Alex took this loneliness and channeled it into training harder. He practiced with his training lightsaber every chance he could get. He would work himself to the point of exhaustion. One day Ly'ara came up to him while he was training. He looked at her and at that moment fell to the ground. He had skipped midday meal that day to train. The training lightsaber fell out of his hand and as Ly'ara tried to catch him, the lightsaber burned her arm. Alex felt really guilty. It was lucky it was a only training lightsaber otherwise the burn would instead be a lost limb. Ly'ara told him she would keep this their little secret if he promised her that he would never skip a meal again, and cut back on training so hard. She said that she came to tell him that she had become a padawan. Alex hugged her being mindful of her burn.
"I am so happy for you. Here let me wrap up your burn; there is a first aid kit in here somewhere." He said looking around for the first aid kit. "Found it!" He said turning back to Ly'ara and he noticed her seemingly healing herself through the force. "That's okay, I got it." She said as she finished healing her burn. Alex smiled. "That is amazing!" "Not Really, most Jedi learn to heal through the force. It is a very useful power to learn." Alex smiled and realized this meant he would see even less of her, if he even did get to see her again. Ly'ara gave him one last hug and waved goodbye as she left the room.
Alex was now 10 years old and he was nearing the days when he would be tested in the Initiate Trials and hopefully be chosen as a padawan. He still trained very hard, but he remembered to eat everyday and not over work himself because he could not pass out like that again. He needed to be strong not fatigued and exhausted. Alex also studied very hard in all his classes and recited the three pillars over and over so that he wouldn't forget. He wanted there to be no reason he could fail. Alex even started to meditate more often; as well as building his control of the force, it also helped him to center himself when he felt overwhelmed.
Finally the trial day came around. All the initiates around Alex's age were to be tested on the three most important things of becoming a Jedi;
