Bio: Bermfad grew up in clan ordo always looking up to his Grandfather, Canderous Ordo who had reunited the Mandalorian Clans. He was not babied for being related to someone like Canderous, and he learned quickly that his family wasn't going to protect him in any way with their station amongst the Mandalorians. You pulled your own weight, earned your own honor. You did it with respect, and for the good of your clan. As most Mandalorians are trained from birth, at least those born into it, so too was Bermfad playing "wargames" throughout his childhood and then being put on recon patrols through the forest of Dxun where he grew up mostly. The dangerous forest got more than one of his friends killed, but also taught him the world was dangerous.
Once he came of age he continued to earn honor away from Canderous' light and wondered if his Grandfather even knew he existed sometimes. Regardless he strove to be better than Canderous, and when he reached adulthood he was approached by Canderous to watch and learn. Bermfad accepted knowing it was a great honor to serve Mandalore. Some would whisper this was special treatment.
He was trained through missions on far other worlds collecting lost Mandalorians, saving allies from past transgressions and the sort. Mandalorians had also gotten themselves involved in small scale wars so the battlefield was no stranger to Bermfad by the time war was brewing galactically.
Tragedy struck when Canderous decided it was his time to move on, but he wanted a battle worth remembering. He took a bunch of older Mandalorians, most survivors from the Mandalorian wars and attacked the old Emperor Cain's Sith Academies, and waged his last war there ending it in the detonation of a nuke to wipe out as much as Cain's ground forces as possible. Canderous had left the mantle of Mandalore to him.
He promised that Cain would loose his seat and the Mandalorians would be the one's to kick his iron grip off the core. In a gambit he lead an assault straight on Coruscant itself, capturing it from the Emperor. At the same time news would reach him that the Emperor had been offed by one of his own. He set about securing the core worlds for a time until a transition could be made to give it back to the people that were fearful of them. He had hoped giving them back to the Republic's control would give rise to the Mandalorian people, and even replenish their ranks. It did for a time.
Word spread through the Mando'ade that this Mandalore was weak, and that he has lost the Mask of Mandalore which was the rightful claim to his title. Bermfad did not deny the loss of the Mask. He had lost it to heavily armed, and prepared pirates that the Mandalorians had taken to waging war against since they had no other enemy to be directed at. Bermfad still does not know who set up the ambush, that resulted in the loss of the helm, but he seeks to obtain it once again. The attack had been designated to kill him but it did not succeed, or at least in the way it had intended.
He was labeled Dar'Manda for loosing the Mask of Mandalore along with some radial views he held. Friendship with the Jedi/Republic and teaching some force sensitives of the Mandalorians to use the force, and then the war against pirates. Many couldn't see that Bermfad was trying to slowly weave their culture in a brighter light so they could be accepted, and grow as a culture. It seemed the Mandalorians culture wasn't ready for change.
His current goal is reclaiming the Mask of Mandalore he lost and coming back to his people prouder than ever. He hates that they have decided to go to war against the Republic and he intends to help the Republic to the best of his ability. The Republic doesn't seem to trust the Ex-Mandalore or the Ex-Mandalorian in him, but they are running out of time to be pickers and choosers. The quicker he finds the Mask of Mandalore the quicker he can end this pointless war.
