Favorite soundtracks of games, for me the music in every game is the most important if it can't produce the right mood in a game than it can ruin the experience.
10. Dark Souls. Now while limited to boss fights and a few select areas in the game, Dark Souls dose a great job in their boss themes of matching silhouette bosses to big lumbering bosses. Motoi Sakuraba dose a fantastic job in capturing the environment of the game though music and even making you feel a bit of a dick at times.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgpYfCnLhAo9. Legacy of Kain. My all time favorite series yet it's ranked low on my list of soundtracks. Like dark souls the whole feel of the world of Legacy of kain is grim, the concept of the two main character's themes Raziel and Kain is depicted beautifully from Raziel's revenge and his struggle of unlife to Kain's struggle to maintain balance Jim Hedges, Kurt Harland, Greg Shaw, and Mike Peaslee really did an amazing job.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdb8aFrkMMA8. Sins of a Solar Empire. Not often you hear an RTS game have a kick ass soundtrack but Sins pulls it off. When you at war you know your at war with it's dramatic music when fighting or when your creating your own legacy. The music can either make you feel proud to serve or dominate troughs under the treads of your boots.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs89QkgzSCY7. Skyrim. Relly it's only up here for the dragon fights and it's main theme, Bethesda kinda dropped the ball of the soundtrack, the only redeeming quality in the music are the dragons.
6. Armored Core For Answer. One of the if not the best mech games out there, high speed combat shit blowing up and the music never makes you forget that. The music never forgets to tell you that shit is going down.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cl9FQIT-6iY5. Castlevania symphony of the night. What can I say that hasn't already been said, the music is just perfect it really tugs at your emotions and makes you feel how Alucard is going through.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lm36RIydUw4. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance. Great music very imposing from start to finish. The soundtrack truly makes you feel that you doing something great, parts of the game has the music very intimidating. An example is the first time you meet the black knight, his music is an example of "if you fight him you will lose." and the game does a great job placing that in and not overdoing it.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqrCmPga46w 3. Mass Effect Trilogy. No I'm not saying anything it's done to death.
2. The Last Remnant. This is a game where the soundtrack changes depending how well you doing in a fight, and it dose it well, if your kicking ass at the start but things suddenly change so the music. It lets you know shit's going down and you better get it together.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQXIhUhIg1U1. Neverwinter Nights 2. My god the theme is breath taken, it's calm, it's intense , it's eerie it's all things blended together. Jeremy Soule is a genius with his music not only composing NWN2, but as well as KOTOR, Elder Scrolls 3, 4 and 5. The music sweeps you away and takes you away wither it's the Astral Plains or the Shadow Realm.
The Combat music is fonominal with each battle it truly makes you feel that you on the filed of combat fighting Orcs, Githyanki and demons.
