Thane was born to the Dathomirian Cross clan, who believed their people had been uprooted from Korriban, and thrown to the stars. They held fiercely to tradition, and as such, males were tattooed at an early age to show their allegiance, and then trained for combat.
As soon as he was 4, Thanes sisters began training him in combat, and use of the force, like all of his brothers. They were trained brutally, forced to fight until they could not fight, and trained until they were completely exhausted. Injuries were treated quickly using the force if it was serious, or left to mend itself, if it was minor. By the age of 8, Thane and his brothers were learning to hunt and kill bigger prey for food, as well as to weed out weakness. Thane acceled in strength, and speed, as well as his hunters instinct.
A few years passed before Thanes ambition finally found him as his clans shamans began to sense a growing dark presence taking hold of the galaxy. Gathering what little ships they had, the clan sent most able bodied males to the stars to meet up with the darkness sensed, and armed with rare Blackwing crystals. They found Revan and joined his conquest. Thane, still young at the time and fought for the sith lord on numerous battlefronts, against republic and jedi, felling at least three knights. When Revan fell, so to did most of the remaining Dathomirian warriors of his clan, but Thane was not present, and the news of the deaths drew the man into near insanity.
He joined with an older warrior named Korth Naas, who had been one of Revans earlier followers, and learned a few techniques from him that strengthened his connection to the force, but the two were always at odds, The mans death in a battle following one particular argument, showed that the youth had outgrown the master. Thane claimed the mans dual lightsabers as his own, and continued to serve the sith until the fall of Malak, when he went into hiding for the next couple decades.
During the time, he traveled through the galaxies outer rim, staying out of sight, and keeping himself alive. He worked as an assassin for hire for most of the time, killing diplomats, rebels, and anything else that payed good credits. Thane fell back upon the training he had received by revans sources in Jedi killing, as well as his old masters harnessing of rage to improve his abilities.
The years served him well, until he heard of the rise of a man named cain, whom had sent the jedi reeling and captured the galaxy into his hands. The thought occured that a man this powerful would be able to gift to Thanes people one of their longest held hopes, that of receiving their homeworld once again, and believing the man to be worth following, Thane came out of the outer rim, to join with cain, but was not long for the job. Instead of reaching cain, Thane came to find that in his indecision, cain had been overthrown, and his replacement, a prince of Panatha, had come to hold the title of Dark lord of the sith.
The mans first request was that thane clean up his family ties, and in exchange, Thane would be made Warleader of Korriban, and his people would be free to colonize the planet. With the information available, Thane was easily able to find the first of his targets, a young sith renegade who lay in a coma, and slew him quickly, but when a jedi recovery squad showed up with the mans sister, Thane was forced to retreat or be ground under the boot of the jedi. Reporting his partial success to the prince, it quickly became apparent through the mans hostile nature towards those of power, that it would come to blows with the man, before the pay was handed over, Thane left the area, disgusted by who the sith had come to follow.
Throwing away his search for the royalty of Panatha. Hatred over the weakling sith grew within him, as his goal to take korriban was once more, out of his reach, Thane headed towards Nar shadaa, a planet where the republics laws were not present, and the chances that he would run into the sith stayed minimal.
A few years past with thane once again playing the role of an assassin for hire, and very few attacks on him. Having gained some renown on the planet, and tiring of the backroom politics that accompanied being on Nar Shadaa.
One evening, a young man showed up asking for him specifically, named Saerel, who held the appearance of an old republic/imperial Fleet commander, with his secrets of the force, and knowledge of a military base, as well as records from before cains downfall. After a deal had been struck, where Thane would take the man to the ruins of an old military base, and in exchange, the man would assist him in Taking Korriban. Thane decided that it was time to take his first step towards the goals he had set for himself decades ago, and moved to take steps leading to the reclamation of Korriban.
Armed with the gear he had owned for decades, and selling his home for a starship, Thane departed Nar Shadaa with Saerel, on a course towards Hoth.
