Mackenzie King was a normal college girl. Studying space flight science, and droid science and keeping up her marks in the high honors range was tough work and quite stressful. She didn't need the course really, her father was loaded, but he wouldn't allow her to free load even though he could afford it hundreds of times over. Being eighteen years old and a rich kid living in a house most would consider to be on par with a five star resort, the only think Mackenzie really had to worry about was her father finding out about her wrong side of the tracks boyfriend.
Tonight was no different. It was a school night, and he snuck his way up the side of her house to her balcony just like he had every other night this week. Johnson was a bit of a rube, and his family was one of servants at the resorts. He didn't have a lot of money, but he wasn't the gold digger people made him out to be. Right now the two were hanging out in the pool, splashing about. And while they were doing that, the assassin was inside the mansion impaling her parents to death with two swift strikes from his dagger. This assassin was smarter than the others. He wasn't going to use a lightsaber, and he was going to kill the whole family so that it couldn't be linked back to the other killings.

Zilfer after a long trip on autopilot and a rather uncomfortable sleep in the cockpit he had arrived just before dawn. Checking in his ship he had decided to head straight there, and notified the local authorities of a possible hit in the neighbhorhood. Since it was a nice neighbhorhood they only promised to send out one officer to patrol the night. Zilfer thanked them regardless of their lacking support. Such as the Jedi way.
When he arrived at the location he already saw the lights were mostly off. Well a 'good jedi' would probably knock at this point but Zilfer wasn't one of those. He preferred a more active approach, and he looked about making sure no one was watching and summoning the force he leap high into the air and unto a balcony. Checking the door he found that it was open.
'They never lock their balcony doors... high borns...'
After walking through the doorway he checked the room, and what he found wasn't quiet what he was expecting. Two bodies already slashed two adults possibly the parents of the target. He was starting to take this a bit more serious now as he proceeded from the bedroom drawing the hilt of his lightsaber but not activating it. He put glasses on and touched a button on his datapad switching on nightvision mode. He moved carefully proceeding down the hallway and after arriving at a window he looked out and saw people in the pool.
'She doesn't even know she's in danger...'
Zilfer started to look for the stairs to the ground floor again, he needed to get out there.

This man thought he could out stealth an assassin? Was he mad? Vossler had him tagged and mentally bagged before he even set foot on the property. Vossler saw the good jedi put on what appeared to be night vision goggles, and it became clear how to mess with those. He flicked on all the lights that were nearby and tried to blind the man with his own goggles. "So, it looks like we've got ourselves a hero then..." Vossler growled in an Australian accent, as he turned around a corner and took a swing at Zilfer with his prized dagger. As he staggered forward, the datapad with information all about King and her family slipped out of his pocket and landed on the stone stairs. He didn't really care. The house was huge, and Mackenzie was too busy splashing around like a goof to notice that her family was being slaughtered.
Johnson had a glance up when all the lights came on. Mackenzie's father never turned them on at this time of night, and if he had, Johnson was sure to hear his roar if he was seen in the pool with the girl. But her father's voice didn't follow. Only the sound of the data pad screen cracking as it fell down the stone steps toward the pool. Johnson put his hand on the girl's shoulder, and directed her attention to what was going on up there.
"Who is it?" She asked him. He shrugged. "I have no idea, Kenzie but we should be careful. That crash was loud, and I know your dad would be all over me if it was him. The only way up here is through the house... I don't like the look of this..."
Johnson was from a rougher part of town, and he could fight a little bit. He also had street smarts and an instinct about this kind of thing. Meanwhile, Mackenzie had only ever come in contact with the jedi once and since then her life has been reasonably uneventful. Still, a sixth sense told her Johnson was right, and that she was in danger.

Zilfer’s flare compensators kicked in turning everything opaque before it could harm his eyes. He saw the now black dark hand and dagger coming his way and caught the hand by the wrist with a knife block to halt it. The reverse color world of his glasses made him have a hard time identifying the man’s face but he had more important issues. The blade had stopped two inches from his chest and he was still unsure if the blade was just a normal blade that would bounce off his chest piece or if it was a vibro dagger that vibrated so fast it increased the sharpness of the blade to where it could cut almost as well as a lightsaber.
Using his lightsaber as a blunt object he tried to smack the perpetrator with his lightsaber hilt twice and then followed up with a kick to the man’s chest to create some distance between the two. Whoever this guy was he wanted to take him in…. Alive. He could perhaps provide more information on who was putting out the hits and thus they could cut off the head of the snake.
“Hero? Heh, I wish I got that recognition but the Jedi are selfless. I take no credit, but you….” Said Zilfer whipping his lightsaber hilt up again behind him. “Well you’ll be wishing you had just struck before revealing yourself.”

The kids watched their assailant fly down the stairs and land on his back on the pool deck, growling and tossing a thunderbolt of force lightning down on top of Zilfer. The lightning was potent, and even the static from it burned and festered one's skin with the dark side. If Zilfer had a mixed or darker past, it might cause some flash backs.
"I'm going to go find my father's pistol." She told him. Johnson nodded, and the two left the pool area. Both dressed in nothing more than swim wear.
"You're not going anywhere kiddo!" Vossler told her, as he got up and marched over to them. "Kenzie, run!" Johnson told her. The boy stood his ground, and landed a punch into Vossler's armoured mid section, before recoiling and realizing his hand hurt like hell.
Vossler looked on him dismissively. He activated his crimson blade with a hiss, and shoved the humming blade through Johnson's chest, before looking up and examining Zilfer's status. No point hiding that he was a sith now. Mackenzie's boyfriend died almost instantly, and he flopped over and took one final dunk in the pool.

As Zilfer saw the man’s hand fly up he realized the force was being pooled through the man’s body to be unleashed. He was going to bring up his lightsaber for a moment but it wouldn’t be fast enough to stop the lightning. Instead his hands closed close together near the impact area and he was sent flying backwards onto the ground.
Most of it he had caught in an orb he was slowly squeezing the energy out of into himself, and he stood up a few moments later… but it was too late. He saw a young man’s body fall into the pool, and he felt the pent up energy that needed a place to go. His hand found focus in a clenched fist as he sent out a cannon ball of force straight at the man to punch him into the pool, water would go spraying every direction upon the detonation of his orb.
He activated his double bladed lightsaber as it hissed to life as a dark blue lightsaber. “I won’t kill you, but you should give up now, while you still have the chance,” Said Zilfer flatly as he twirled his lightsaber into an altered Makashi Salute.

Just as Vossler looked up he was hit with a dense and powerful ball of force energy, and he skipped across the surface of the pool twice before colliding with the metal fence on the other side, and subsequently landing back on the pool deck with a terrible headache. He cracked his neck, and slowly rose to his feet again.
Kenzie returned and started unloading blaster shots at Vossler while she ran down the stairs, and this made the assassin grin. He used Shii Cho to deflect them back at the girl, who didn't have enough training or speed to dodge them on her own yet. If Zilfer wanted to protect the girl, he'd have to take his attention away from Vossler for the time being.
Vossler began to charge energy in and around his whole body, getting ready for a final confrontation with Zilfer in which he would have the upper hand.

Shots behind him fired forward and he glanced for a moment and saw it was the girl. Well now it was two against one, and as the bolts started coming back at the girl, well Zilfer was never the defensive type of person and if he was it was usually done in an offensive way much to the Jedi Master’s discontent. His hands shot forward creating a barrier in front of himself to deflect blaster fire. He ran straight forward placing his path in front of hers.
Bolts strayed off his barrier as he hit the end of the line at the pool but he didn’t stop two quick steps on the last he leapt forward and then with the aid of the force he managed to ‘skip’ on water placing just enough firmness on the water’s surface to push off of as he closed the distance. He yelled back at the girl now that his focus wasn’t on the force.
“Go to the authorities and tell them Commander Zilfer sent you to be held until I can reach you, go now!” said Zilfer as he spun his saber confidently looking at the man who had risen up, he mimicked his movement from before.
“This doesn’t have to go down the hard way…. But I’m not opposed to this ending that way. Any reason your using your abilities for the wrong side Dark Jedi?” asked Zilfer calmly.

Before Mackenzie could so much as nod to Zilfer, she was flung head first into the side of the brick wall holding up one of the flower gardens. A small bit of blood came down the side of her head, but her breahing and pulse were still there, and she was stunned.
"The hard way? It's already more annoying than it had to be." he grumbled. "I was sent here to kill the girl for a one-hundred thousand credits... There was no talk of resistance or Jedi in my dossier. I almost didn't bother bringing my gear or weapons, it was such a rudimentary sounding kill... Who are you?"

Zilfer didn't bother with a response after a quick glance back at the girl. Well if he wanted to play dirty, he'd had to make sure the man knew this wasn't a negotiation. He pushed outwards on both the man's feet to try and trip him into the splits as he came forward with a lifting knee aiming for the assassin's face. Not a deadly blow but it would hopefully disorient and discourage any more struggle. He kept his blade ready to parry the blows the man sent his way, and Zilfer started to find the place where he found Zen, the middle of combat.
He made a mental note to thank the assassin later that had tipped the Jedi off to this but that didn't make him any less suspicious about her morals or reasons for doing this. For all he knew she was the one who had set it up in the first place. Well time for questions AFTER he beat this man to a pulp.

Vossler was somewhat surprised his his legs parted and he fell down into the splits, even more so when so much ground was gained on him. He took Zilfer's knee straight to the center of his face which resulted in a broken nose and a fountain of blood.
"I don't get paid enough for this shit..." he growled, and with that, he shoved his own hunting knife into the side of his neck, destroying his carotid artery, and killing him pretty well instantly. This swift death was better than answering any of the Jedi's questions and being tried by the republic. He knew he was going to lose, so he took his fate into his own hands.
Kenzie on the other hand started to stir a little bit. She found herself adjusting the position of her jaw, and rubbing her head. Her vision stopped blurring, and she looked over at Zilfer.

Zilfer looked down at the man like he was pondering whether it was worth the effort to save the man's life. He knew he could possibly save the man's life but he didn't know if it was a singular assassin and if he would need to conserve his energy for later. He pulled the datapad on his wrist close to his mouth and gave the address to the local republic officers to show up. Three dead, the suspect had committed Seppuku as some liked to nickname it. He turned his lightsaber off as he drew his gaze away from the body.
He wandered over to check on the girl and she was in a fog as she came back up. He put his hands on either side of her head. "Does this pressure hurt?" asked Zilfer gentling checking her head to see how badly she was hurt, as well as working healing energy into her head as he did so. Most people when they touched where they hurt, didn't realize that most of the time it was the body trying to draw small amounts of force energy to heal or at least ease the pain.
"You look a little worse for wear," said Zilfer examining her injuries further. "Tell me your name, mine is Zilfer. I'm a Jedi Knight sent here on a tip that someone was out to get you."

"I'm Dizzy... but my head is too numb to hurt. The old brain didn't like the wall very much..." She told him. Her sense of humor was still intact at least, although she wouldn't be feeling very humorous after she found out what happened to Johnson and her family. He asked for her name.
"Ma... Mackenzie..." She struggled. "Mackenzie King." She added. "A Jedi huh?" She asked him. She was able to compose herself after a few moments
"The Jedi came when I was just a little girl... they told me I had great gifts that I could share with the galaxy. What they didn't tell me was that my gifts were so great that I needed to die for them..." She told him with a frown. "I've been through the conversation before... the force, the lightsaber. I wanted to join, but my parents vitoed it. They're wealthy, and they didn't want me to get my hands dirty I guess..."
"How did you know he was going to come tonight?"

"Yeah, that's kind of complicated and a long story but first we need to get you to safety first," said Zilfer standing up. He could already hear siren's in the distance. "Sounds like they won't be long now. The republic should be able to take care of you while I investigate more of why they are targeting you."
Zilfer looked back at the floating body in the pool and then back up to the house. Three dead people and one dead assassin wasn't good for the books, well maybe he kept something personal on him that he could track down. He wanted back to the assassin and searched his body pulling out a datapad it was locked, but good thing he knew a few datapad crackers. They weren't always.... legitimate but they got the job done.
OOC more to come later.... xD

"I didn't see them...but somehow I know my parents are dead..." She told him softly. A tear went down the left side of her face, as she acknowledged that Johnson was no longer present either. "It's too bad... if they had let me train as a Jedi, they wouldn't have been in any danger. And even if they had, I likely could have saved them. Surely you're not going to leave me with the police. You saw what that guy can do...he deflected the blasts from my pistol. I'll be a sitting duck. Zilfer, my sixth sense is telling me I should go with you. I'll make it up to you, and fill the position I was supposed to."
Luckily for Zilfer, the datapad had the information on each of the marks on Corellia. The bad news was, each of them was in a different city.
