Bio: Loren grew up on the planet Mirial with traditional Mirialan values, that everyone's action contribute to the ones destiny. She was raised with this basic value, and taught that the force guides all things regardless of whether they are listening. In the Imperial remnant, her family moved around a lot to avoid the suspicions of imperial officials, and due to Mirialan's frequency of showing force sensitivity she learned at a young age to stay out of view. This is when she learned some basic street sneaking. At the age of ten her family was accused of aiding recruiting for the Resistance, an Illegal offense in the Imperial Remnant according to the Galactic Concordance. She still does not know whether this was true or false, but an Inquisitor by the name of Jarik Tillisk and Stormtroopers came and took her father in for questioning. He never came back. The following two years she kept herself busy. When skipping academy, she found herself busy running with street kids, and racing through back alleyways. Loren always found it much more exciting than studying for the future her mother wanted for her.
One day the Imperials came looking again, and her mother forced Loren to run saying they had finally come to take her because of her 'gift'. Not understanding at the time she was pushed by her mother towards the back of the house. She was spotted going out the back and the stormtroopers gave chase. She kept running and going until she lost the imperials with her street knowledge. She wandered learning quickly that she would need to steal to eat. Her inner morals chaffed against this reality but a hungry stomach isn't one to argue with. It wasn't long before she ran into trouble and before long she was picked up by a street gang. Most of the time only the skilled kids off the street made it into a gang. The Spitfire gang trained her for breaking an entry into houses and stealing stuff. Loren was at first resistant to the idea like she had been stealing to eat, but if she wanted to fit in she had to go with the flow. Perhaps this was part of her destiny.
Throughout the years she grew up with a hatred of the Imperials. While the Spitfires didn't have an allegiance except to themselves, they cautioned her habit of escalating issues with the Empire. However, if she got the chance she to steal from the Old Empire or hinder them she would. This got the attention of the Resistance. They ended up sending someone to recruit her, but she flat out denied them. She couldn't identify why she was angry at the time, but later she would come to realize it was because it had been the original reason her parents disappeared.
Around age eighteen she started working with a crew of offworlders who through a series of jobs allowed her to join them. She had originally gotten caught sneaking into their ship, but one of the members had stopped the others from turning her in. Jarlan the Rodian captain ended up taking a liking to her and offered a space on the crew. Rylar an Enchani warrior began to teach her hand to hand combat, while she learned a basic understanding of computer systems helping a Iridonian named Glitch, fix the computer systems of the freighter. The most curious of the members however was Yai'Long a Lasat and the one who had decided to vouch for her saying if she could sneak into their ship maybe she could be useful getting into other places.
She was always paired with Yai'long during her first few missions off world and he seemed to take an interest in asking her specific but ultimately frivolous questions of why she decided to sneak a certain way, and why she choose the route she did. After a mission on Nar Shaddaa he decided to make a game of hide and seek to double her pay. She eagerly set about to find the most obscure places she could hide, and despite always have a thirty minute lead he would always find her. By the end of the day she thought she had finally lost him, but a noise made her jump. The hiss of a weapon she'd never heard before. Turning to look she saw Yai'long held two glowing laser swords. Tossing her one he told her she was gifted with the force. She looked at the weapon in her hand glowing blue and then back to him. She hadn't talked to anyone about the force since her mother and father had taught her about everyone's destiny.
Yai'long's face grew stern as he told her he was the reason for her parents disappearance. They had been helping him. It didn't make sense, but his tone and body language left no room for mistake. He spoke the truth, and he proceeded to tell Loren that he had not been able to save her father, but at least her mother had died of her own choice. That set her into motion attacking him rapidly in a blind rage, that was not fully aimed at Yai'long, but everything that had happened to her since. By the end she had worn herself exhausted and proceeded to curl up and cry. She hadn't allowed herself to really grieve her parents, but Yai'long was there and seemed to know on some level that she needed to come to terms with their fate.
The day after she learned he had lied to her in order to provoke the reaction out of her. She had developed a wall to fend off all the bad things that had happened and he had to break it in order for her to live. She wasn't grateful at first, and even put off asking about Yai'long's lightsabers and the force but eventually curiosity caved Loren's hesitance. Yai'long never ended up telling her about his past simply passing over that the more she knew about him the more danger she would be in, for now it was enough for her to learn the force and the basics of the lightsaber. They trained first in Shii Cho for a basic understanding of techniques and then eventually moved into the Double Bladed lightsaber forms. Yai'long seemed to believe that her skill with a lightsaber and the force would be important in the future.
Her crew ended up taking a job on a distant unnamed planet in the outer rim. It was said there was a facility testing out weaponry and they were to steal the prototype of the new rifle. It was said to use energized mag rounds not unlike the wookiee bowcaster. The plan went well until the end when a surprise inspection by one of the Imperial Inquisitor's showed up. It was none other than Jarik Tillisk. Loren ended up recognizing the Emperor's hand and blew the groups cover attacking him brashly and in the open. He had been the one who had killed her father, and she would make him pay. Yai'long ended up helping fending off the Inquisitor while the group beat a retreat to the shuttle.
In the end Yai'long sacrificed himself to save Loren force pushing her onto the ship with his lightsaber. Yai'long called for Jarlan to leave without him, and it took Glitch and Rylar to hold her back from jumping out. After her initial anger she began to understand it was her fault that had ended up getting Yai'long killed even after he had tried to train Loren on her temper. She decided then to put her trust in what Yai'long had taught her and throw everything into learning what she could on her own. As much as she wanted to hunt that Emperor's hand she was part of a crew and they needed her even more with Yai'long gone.
Despite being part of the Imperial Remnant she had hardly gotten into any politics and stayed introverted to herself. As time goes on she is beginning to see that she may have to eventually choose a side, and she may have to convince the rest of her crew to as well. Now, years have gone by and while she still has that lingering urge to avenge her family and mentor, she focus on the jobs that come their way no matter what 'side' or for who they are for... but something whispers that she will have to choose very soon....
