Solar is a hammer when using the Force in combat. Every problem is a nail and he has the telekinetic hammer to smash it. Don’t expect mind tricks, finesse or anything subtle. He will kick, punch and smash you with pure telekinetic whammy’s until you are no longer a threat.
His senses with the Force have been shaped by his environment. He has a fairly well developed ability to sense life through the Force and how it connects with all the other life around it. He can sense intentions almost as if he could smell them and he can pick out individual life forms like insects crawling on a forrest floor. That being said, he’s not so good at spacial awareness. Some Jedi can feel out an entire room with the Force to the point they barely even need their eyes. This is not Kolar.
He’s also very good at growth, channeling the Force into living things to accelerate their growth. This in league with his medical knowledge makes him a fairly adept healer both with and without the Force.
Skills:
Wildlife survival
marksman with his bowcaster
extremely fit and strong from living in the shadowlands
Can not only read, write and understand the language of the Wookies, but is one of the few non wookie's who can actually speak some of it.
Bio:
Almost as long as Kolar can remember, he’s lived on Kashyyyk. From an extremely young age, his Jedi Master had taken him to Kashyyyk to live and hide from the Empire. He vaguely remembers life as a Jedi youngling and later as a padawan during the clone wars.
His Master, a Jedi Knight named Rev’ar’el, was a Twi’lek who fought in the Clone Wars. Rev’ar’el was a large man, not nearly as large as Kolar grew to be, but not small by any means. When order 66 came down, Rev took his young apprentice Kolar and traveled to Kashyyyk to hide. They moved down into the shadowlands where they thought the pure, extreme abundance of life on the planet would hide them from Vader’s sense.
It was an extremely tough life. The Shadowlands are dark, dangerous and hostile. Not even the Wookies venture down there for any length of time, although they do occasionally make visits. The Jedi had earned some good will with the Wookies during the Clone Wars so the Wookies who knew they were down there, did not report the presence of aliens living on the surface to their Imperial masters.
Wookies had a very tough life all on their own dealing with the Empire. Used as slaves and oppressed, the Wookies had to fight for every inch of freedom. Rev and Kolar aided when they could but dared not venture to far above the shadowlands in fear that if they were spotted by imperial forces, a report of two Jedi might go out and bring even more pain upon the Wookie population they shared the planet with.
Mostly they stayed in the shadowlands, giving shelter to wookies who found themselves down there for whatever reason. Rev grew old and began having trouble navigating the forest floor without assistance from Kolar or the Force. Kolar cared for Rev in his age, reading medical books whenever he could and working with the local wookies to gain some medical training. Whenever they could get a connection to the holonet, he’d download whatever medical texts he could and spent his nights reading. He practiced on a few wounded animals the found out in the wild and the occasional wookie.
One day, the old Twi’lek had a vision of Alderaan and felt that a great event was going to take place there signaling the end of the rebellion. Rev told Kolar he had to go and help because surely the Jedi would be needed there. He gave Kolar some exercises to practice, headed to the upper levels of the forest, snuck aboard an imperial transport which he immediately hijacked and flew to Alderaan. He was promptly obliterated with the rest of the planet when the Empire destroyed Alderaan with the Death Star.
This left Kolar all alone. He had his lightsaber, only the very basic of knowledge in how to use it properly in a fight. He had his Masters old armor, which was much to small for him originally but after some modification he made it fit. He added a bit to it using some metal they found on the forest floor that looked like it might have been from some old navigation computer or star chart that had long since been overgrown.
He had never become a full Jedi Knight as everyone with the authority to grant him that rank had long since been dead. Rev had trained him as best he could, but the constant fight for survival in the shadowlands and the lack of any sort of structure or curriculum caused Kolar’s training to suffer. He isn't fully a Jedi, nor is he fully not a Jedi. He would like one day to find a way to become one to honor his Master if for nothing else.
Pet:
Kolar has a pet Katarn that he found wounded as a baby and nursed back to health. He named the Katarn Cougar after he remembered something his master had said about creatures that had once assailed him while he was trapped in a cabin.
