M-234P is an uninhabited system in Wild Space. It has no habital planets, or any planets of any kind. It was originally charted by an old republic survey team looking for systems with high resources. It's a Trinary star system, littered with asteroid belts and fields. It's very rich in metals and minerals but it's remote location, the high gravity fluctuations caused by the three stars, as well as their high energy output makes mining to difficult to be cost effective.
Around the orbits of the stars is a ort cloud of rock particles and a few larger asteroids orbiting around the whole system as well as gas that may one day turn into a gas giant or two.
The energy coming from the stars scrambles sensors at even extreme ranges and the gravity well put out by the stars makes hyperspace jumps difficult. In all, the system is gassy, dangerous and very difficult to navigate.
Joe Halcyon had constructed the headquarters of the Union of the Force within one of the larger asteroids. It was a secret base from which he could launch intelligence gathering missions and consolidate forces. The Union HQ has been abandoned for thousands of years but is still located in the asteroid field at the systems center. Orbital drift charts are required to navigate the field safely but a skilled pilot can move through the field without getting killed if he has a lot of luck on his side.
Large ships can not enter the asteroid field without sustaining a lot of damage. the size and speed of some of the rocks can cause catastrophic damage to larger ships in minutes. Ships 1,000 meters in length will have a serious problem navigating the field but it's possible. 1500 meters or longer and the ship will be nearly impossible to get through the field without getting smacked by a big rock.
Hyperspace jumps are tricky both into and out of the system. Because of the high gravity and all the debris, an improperly plotted jump can and often will mean certain destruction.
