(OOC: I want a bit of practice writing combat scenes and working with other characters. This particular thread is just a duel between Amon Fel and the first person to respond to this topic. There are no rules of engagement, but I'd like to make the fight to end in a draw between the two characters. Introduce yourself and we can begin. ;D)
Amon Fel sat on his bed in his small quarters in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He should have been asleep, but his frustration over the last mission made him too restless to relax. While he had succeeded in killing Gordon Rixar, his Master's ability to sneak up on him and the foolishness he had displayed in believing the holodroid was really Rixar irritated him. He should be better than that.
Perhaps some exercise would calm him down. He left his room and wandered down the corridors of the Temple until he came upon a large, empty hall. This was the main training room used for lightsaber sparring. It was unlikely that anyone would still be up at this hour, but if worse came to worse Fel could always activate one of the practice droids. He began doing a set of simple stretches to loosen himself up while he waited.

ooc: I may not have any imperials for ya, but I'll help ya out =) Feel free to tell me to take a hike though. bic: Kayla Iscariot walked quietly through the jedi temple. The midsummer harvest had dropped her off on coruscant hours earlier, and her first "site" for seeing, was to see what had become of the old jedi temple on coruscant. She was not with any of the sides, despite her having ties to Malum, so, she hoped that nobody would have a problem with her remaining there for a while. She knew that it was dangerous to be a force user in this area, though, and so she did her best to hide her presense in the force. As she walked through the hallways, she walked by the training room, where a young force user had just entered, and was looking about, and deciding to test his abilities, as well as her own after the long break from not using the lightsaber, she stepped into the room, revealing herself. She wore black robes, tied in with some sage green material, such as a jedi would, and had her hair done up a bit, with two brades, as a padawan would have, on either side of her head. Apearing to be only 20 years old, Kayla had the experiences brought on by 150 years of life. As she stepped into the room, fully, she said, hello there. What are you doing up?

(OOC: Sorry for the delay, life's been hectic. Glad you joined, though.) Fel paused in mid-stretch to consider the woman before him. While similar to what a Sith might wear, the cut of her robe seemed as out of place as the green cloth wrapped around her waist. New apprentices tended to be either overly cocky or painfully fearful, but she was neither. He also doubted that any Sith master would address him so casually. He supposed this could be one of the illusions the Emperor created, but he'd always imagined such a powerful Force effect to be more... impressive than this. There was something about her, though. She was pretty in her own way, but that was irrelevant; what was important was that Fel could sense her trying to hide her Force sensitivity from him. Intriguing.
"Lightsaber exercises," he replied. Then a thought occurred to him. Could Vaj or one of the other master's sent her here as some sort of a test? If so, what was the purpose and how could he pass? His hands casually slipped down to his belt where his two lightsabers hung. The Sith had installed energy dampeners in the training room that lowered the power of a lightsaber's blade from a lethal cut to a painful sting, but they would serve him well enough no matter what was going on. "What brings you here?"

ooc: its all good. life goes. bic: Kayla noted, cooly, as the siths hands slid down to his saber hilts. She smirked, as she noted the movement, as her hands remained at her sides, but slightly summoned upon the force, to keep a grip on her saber, if the need be. I am here to take a look around, nothing else... However... She paused for dramatic effect, for a moment, before continueing on, I do so enjoy surprises... As she finished, she summoned her lightsaber hilt to her hand, a smile crossing her face. The hilt of the saber looked ancient in design, resembling the hilt of a sword, over the comon lightsaber, but when she flipped the sword on, the blade emerged a startling silver. Her smile remained, as she stood back, and said, Care to dance?

Fel smiled but said nothing. Whatever was going on, it was clear that he had to fight. He drew his own lightsabers in one swift movement. Their hilts were of a more traditional design, but their blades were not. Unlike most Sith lightsabers who used synthetic red crystals, Fel's weapons used organic orange gemstones from the distant world of M'haeli. The two blades ignited with a soft hiss.
With that Fel pushed aside all questions about who his opponent was and charged the enemy. He began by using a number of simple Shii-cho maneuvers to gauge his opponent's strength. Caution was one of Fel's weak points, and he didn't want to lose because of it now. He aimed a slashing attack at the woman's neck with one lightsaber while keeping the other blade close to his own body in defense.

ooc: well, only problem i have with the combat so far, is nothing to go off of. XD It would help if you posted how you strike, such as a double thrust, low, or something, so i know what i am reacting to. Merely saying you are using shii'cho style, means its all up to me on what your attack is like, and whatnot.

The topic's already paying off, it seems. I'd actually left things open on purpose, but I can see the greater benefit to your way. You'll find something to respond to in the last post now.

Kayla blinked once, as she brought her lightsaber up and across her body, to block the first blade, as it made a deadly arc towards her neck. She kept her blades momentum moving as far as it would go, with the block, in an attempt to move fels blade away for a moment, before cutting the blade back across, more angled, and aimed towards fels arm.

Fel parried the blow easily and used the opportunity to pull back from the fight. Clearly his opponent was holding back as much as he was. Her identity remained a mystery as well, as there was nothing about her fighting style that stood out as particularly distinctive. Perhaps if he could press her into actively using the Force...
Shifting forms, Fel charged in once more with both lightsabers twirling in rapid circles. As their weapons clashed once more, he changed tactics and brought his blades in to strike at the woman from either side.

Kayla was not surprised as her strike was parried, but when her opponent switched up, to using both blades in offensive forms, an eyebrow raised. As the blades rotated, she kept her eyes focused on fell, and at the last moment, hopped backwords, just enough so that the sabers passed closer to each other, if he kept the slash going, and brought her saber around, to slam into the side of both sabers. A smirk crossed her face, as she bagan to enjoy the fight.

Fel grunted as his lightsabers made contact with his opponent's weapon. He considered using a trakata maneuver to slip past the woman's block, but he suspected her reflexes were good enough that she would use the moment his lightsabers were deactivated to strike at him as well. Instead he Force-leapt backward to the other half of the room. Using his frustration and anger to amplify his connection to the Force, he let loose a yell that turned into a cone of sonic energy. It slammed into the other side of the room like an ancient battering ram.
OOC: Shall we end this soon? I believe I have a good enough hold on cooperative combat scenes now. Something dramatic where we both have the other's figurative throat, perhaps?

As fell jumped away, and did his cone attack, Kayla was ill prepared for it. At the last moment she began forming a barrier from the force, but was not quick enough. As the cone met her barrier, it threw kayla backwards towards the wall, but was cushioned a bit by the barrier. Needless to say, the impact jarred her, and dropped kayla to her knee's. With a smirk, she looked to Fell, and said, We'll meet again, youngling. Before begining to cloak her presense, both in the force, and visibly, by bending the light around her, to her will. After the cloak, she slowly moved to leave, before noticing a familiar presense in the temple. Ignoring it, She continued on route to the pickup zone where her men waited. ooc: sounds good fell, if this is too soon, srry, but it seemed you been distracted, so figured it would help ya a bit.

Fel stood alone and confused in the training hall. The woman was gone, that much was certain. Her ability to conceal herself was powerful, even more so than his own, for she hid her presence from the Force as well as his eyes. He would have to ask his master about that one.
His body felt weak from the Force scream he had unleashed, but his mind was energized. He would find his opponent some day, and then they would have a rematch where there were no energy inhibitors to prevent a lethal strike. He quietly laughed to himself. To kill that one would be a wonderful challenge. After he found out what she was, of course.
Fel walked back to his quarters. After going through a brief routine of cool-down exercises he slipped into bed. He had business to attend to tomorrow and would need his rest. He entered the void of sleep and thought no more.
OOC: Sooner than expected, but it works just fine. Now Amon Fel has a mysterious rival. ;D Much better than the boring revelation of names I had expected at the end of the match. Topic closed.
