Johana looked over at Miki and it was easy to see she could hardly contain her excitement. Johana simple smiled. She had made X.O. of the Sourne around the same age, but she also spent a large amount of time in the command chair on third watch and was a distinguished graduate of the naval academy. However Miki’s test score were good and Johana had a gut feeling she would be a good commander. “Don’t go running to the ship right away. We do have the launching ceremony to go to. That means we get to listen to politicians praise us and the Destiny; Oracle giving a little speech about the start of a new era and… of course drinking. Lot and lots of drinking.” Johana said.

The elevator door open and an Arkanian offshoot stood in front of them. She had pink with pointing ears, solid green eye’s instead of white and a geometric tattoo on her face and forehead. She did not look like most Arkanian offshoots but that was because he group did not require large numbers. “Command Miki, this is Lieutenant Commander Lilith Savant. CAG of the Destiny.” Johana said. Lilith was the squadron leader of Red Squadron and was Johana’s one request for transfers for the fighter corp. She did not want to separate to much of the Enterprise crew, hell most had server on together under her command for three years now. Johana just felt it was lucky that she was able to convince the Council to allow the Enterprise to remain in Blackstar’s hands.

The pink Offshoot looked at Johana then over at Miki. “It is nice to meet you Commander.” She said politely. Lilith turned back to Johana. “Johana, the shuttle is ready. Do I really have to go, Veeshas Tuwan don’t mingle.” Lilith added with distain towards the idea of the launching ceremony.

Johana shook her head and patted Lilith on the back. “Yes you do. You wear the rank you pay the price. I take it that the Veeshas Tuwan don’t drink.” She said with a smile as they headed to the shuttle which would take them to the shipyards.

Miki looked down for a moment before back up and smiled. She was slightly surprised when the elivator doors opened and a Arkanian offshoot stepped in. She scanned the alien quickly before smiling to her and bowing slightly.

Its a pleasure to meet you as well.[/color]

Miki fully stood up, and listen to the exchange of words between Johana and Lilith. A small smile remained on her face the entire time.[/center]

Johana, Miki and Lilith walked to the hanger bay and took the shuttle towards the shipyard. On the way towards the shipyards Johana looked out the port window and smiled. “Look at her. One of the most powerful ships ever built, second in size to only the Harbinger which was being disassemble to make way for a number of smaller ship. So the Destiny was now the power in the galaxy, capable of even dealing with Gaia. The ship’s silver grey fresh paint job glisten the Dac star. On the side in bold black lettering was USS DESTINY with the lettering VSD-001. Also the Federation Star was painted on either side of the hull. “Ain’t that a magnificent ship. Something has to be said for a ship wearing the Federation Star.” Johana said looking at the ship.

Lilith did a quick flyby of the ship in the shuttle allowing Johana and Miki to get a good look at it before docking with the shipyards. They got off the shuttle and were greeted by several Mon Calamari. “Well, what do you think of her Admiral?” The lead engineer of the shipyard said. “First Star Defender of the Federation and a shining example of Federation strength.” He said extending his hand to lead the group to the observation lounge.

Johana smiled. “I don’t know if such a powerful warship is needed to keep the peace, but I don’t mind having one to make the Empire or Mandalorians think twice about coming after use. Although a ship which serves as a flying city well be nice however.” Johana said with a smile as they walked into a room. There were a lots of people with high ranking marks on their uniform along with large number of civilians. Waiters were walking around with trays of champagne in crystal glasses. Johana walked in and scooped up a glass. She then turned to her two officers. “You to have fun. Drink, mingle, and try to be somewhat diplomatic. I will be hiding in that corner if you need me.” Johana said with a smile as she pointed to a window which had a good view of the Destiny. Johana was not one to go from group to group but have people come to her. She took her glass and headed to the window knowing it would not be long before a few diplomats or high ranking officer came over to chat. It seemed like it might be Oracle to the first over along with General Martka and Councilor Zan.

Miki looked out the window closest to her as she looked out at the Destiny. It truly was a massive ship, scary to her now that she thought about it. Gaia was no where to be seen, like her master, Zero. This didn't really concern Miki. There were things he could be doing while the Federation wasn't using him.

Miki was still looking at the SVD when the shuttle landed, and the group was greeted by a group of Mon Calamari. She was then led into the observation lounge. People were mingling everywhere, obviously overjoyed with the sompletion of the ship. Miki left when Johana gave permision, not that she really needed it. She was the second in command of this massive ship. Miki stood against a wall, sipping on the cool liquid drink in she skooped up. A older woman, perhaps around Johana's age walked up to her and the two began to talk randomly, like a couple of teenage friends. After a minutes worth of talking, Miki found this woman to be the chief medical officer for this new ship.
