The Federations pathfinder fleet dropped out of hyperspace over the calm world of Chinine. It slowly made its way into system, running scans of the area around the planet, and once deciding that there was nobody hostile around, they moved in to take a closer look, and drop off troopers. Fully 50 basic troopers and 50 engineers, 10 T3-B's, and 6 mobile proton missile launchers were loaded into the 40 LAAT's and ferried down to the planet, along with one shield generator, to keep the planet semi protected. Half of the engineers moved to start digging into caves, and building fortifications, in case the battle was brought there, going so far as to making the tanks virtual bunkers, from the front, but mobile if they back up. The 6 Proton torpedo launchers were stationed near the main encampment.

The rest of the engineers loaded into 2 teams were ferried to the two Homeworld class carriers, who deployed their mobile dry dock arms, the LAAT's sitting near so they could start ferrying supplies down to the surface.

Not long after the arrival of the Federation Pathfinder Fleet, a pair of CR90 Corvettes came out of hyperspace over the planet. Moving towards the waiting Homeworld carriers in orbit, the corvettes docked at the mobile dry docks aboard the ships. There, crews worked quickly to refit the CR90's.

Many of their defensive weapons systems, including their main laser batteries, were removed and placed aboard the waiting LAATs for transport to the surface of the planet where they would we be used to help beef up the base defenses. In place of these weapons systems, the CR90's had some extra plating installed around the bow and near their engine blocks and hyperdrives. Of course, this extra plating didn't just fall out of the sky. It was in fact scavenged from one of the 5 Acclimator II-class Assault Ships fielded in Praetor Aeris' fleet. But, seeing that the fleet still possessed 4 more fully functional and operational Acclimator II's, the call was made to sacrifice the durability of one to support the pair of CR90's now in orbit over Chinine.

As the CR90's were being retooled with the extra armor plating, the ships crews, 200 men in total between both corvettes, were outfitted with civilian clothing and busying themselves with storing hidden weapons in concealed smuggling compartments aboard both ships. Once the crews had hidden their weapons caches and the ships themselves had been fully refitted, they uncoupled from the Homeworld's dry docks and were fully prepared for their assigned duty.
