Kill Anybody For No Reason...

"They're really pressing hard!" Roberts said as he fired off a few shots from his balster down the hall. The autodroids weren't holding up very well. They had lost two defenders in the last 10 minutes and that allowed the deceptidroids to move down the corridor another 30 feet towards them. They're only advantage seemed to be that the enemy wasn't willing to use explosives and risk damaging whatever machinery was in the Combine.

Power Lifters laser cannon was going nearly non stop now and large chunks of rubble were flying out of the hallway. Robert's pistol still had little effect but he did manage to deflect an attack here and there with his light saber. All he needed though was a power source, something he could rechannel and he had a strong feeling that it would be enough to help in a big way but being pinned down, he could do nothing.

Shard took up the rear. He hated the idea of leading from the rear but with this few people under his command he doubted it mattered. "My scanners are being blocked in here. This structure... it's interfering with my networking as well. Its like hundreds of networks merged into one. I can't make sense of it."

He followed after Drake, Steelhide and Roshi. Inwardly, Shard wondered if the Romulus had enough firepower to destroy this Core to keep it from getting into the big bad's hands. He didn't say it out loud though, for fear of upsetting steelhide.

Drake continued on with Roshi, Shard and Steelhide "Well we won't know till we get there" Drake replied about the Romulus having enough power to destroy the core. "I do not htink destroying the core is such a good idea" Steelhide started to say "We must think of another way to help it if we are to continue to live here" he continued on.

Roshi came to a stop and held his hand up "Wait wait wait" he said to them, Drake and Steelhide came to a slow stop as well "I think we've run into company" Roshi said, Steelhide went over to the corner and peaked around it "We got 5 enemies making their way through the tunnels, looks as if they are lining it with explosives" he said. Drake looked up "Maybe they want to cut off your only means of getting here"

Roshi ignited his saber "We have to stop them now" he said preparing to move out. "Wait" Drake grabbed Roshi's shoulder "Shard whats the plan on this one?" he asked their acting commander.

If shard had learned one thing in his time with these Jedi, it was that the best destraction he could ever hope for would be to send Drake out there with his lightsaber on and in full berrserker mode but Shard wasn't going to risk his life like that. "Master Roshi, Master Hellion take up the rear. I'll head out first and take the one on the left. Steelhide, you hit the one on the right. Masters, you take the 3 in the middle while they're distracted with us. Ready? GO!"

Shard spun around the corner and began firing his sonic cannon. The blasts didn't do much against the large droids but it did push it back off balance. Shard ducked under the return fire and when he got close enough he activated his lightsaber. The red blade sunk into the droids chest right through it's power cell. Shard grabbed it by the shoulder and turned it towards the others to use the now lifeless droid body as cover from counter attack.

Drake, Roshi and Steelhide all nodded when Shard told them his plan, they were going to follow it to the tee. Steelhide followed out behind Shard and fired his ion blaster the blast slammed into the chest of the deceptidroid on the right causing it to fall over and its head to roll off. The 3 in the middle turned around and started firing at Shard and Steelhide.

Drake and Roshi rolled out of cover when the droids started firing. Both Drake and Roshi pulled their arms back and charged a hadoumehameha, both of them released the attack the same time, the blasts slammed into the three droids pushing them into the wall and crushing their chest.

"Well" Drake said breathing hard as he had to concentrate alot harder to use a stronger version of that attack. "Which way now Steelhide?" Roshi asked, Steelhide looked around "There" he pointed "We should be more careful now, when his men do not report back Galavatron will send more scouts, more dangerous scouts" Steelhide said to them. "If you wish to back out now humans we will understand"

Drake smirked and reignited his saber "Sorry but backing out of a fight isn't our style" he smirked and ran off ahead. Roshi started to follow behind him.

Shard agreed with Drake and deactivated his lightsaber. They weren't going anywhere. Something on this planet had caused a group of droids to attack a girl on tatooine. That alone was important enough for the three Jedi to risk their lives.

"Right with you Steelhide." Shard said. He nodded once and then ran after Drake and Roshi.

Drake continued running with Roshi until they saw something strange, large black crystalized spikes were sticking out the ground everywhere. "What is this?" Drake asked Roshi stopped "Don't know" he walked over to touch it but before he could Steelhide blocked his path "Do not touch it" he said to them. Drake looked up at him "What the hell is it?" He asked.

Steelhide turned to the crystals "Dark Energon, Galvatron must have begun corrupting the energon core of the planet, worse yet this stuff will destroy anything biological" he said to them. Roshi stared at it "It feels strange, almost as if its force sensitive, like like a person" he held his hand out to it and closed his eyes, Roshi fell forward and Drake caught him. "Old man, are you okay?" he asked.

"I know what Galvatron is trying to do, like the crystals talked to me" Roshi started "Once he's finished corrupting the core, he's going to use the mass power of energon to try to corrupt other planets using the force, one planet at a time." he said coughing. "He just needs someone who can use the force to combine them with the core"

Drake looked at Roshi weird "Is that even possible?" he questioned Roshi shook his head "Don't know, but I would rather not find out" he said standing up all the way.

"I don't see why it couldn't be possible." Shard said. "I am after all, a Force Sensitive life form integrated into a machine. Perhapse Galvatron desires to do something similar with these crystals." Shard postulated. It was merely a theory but since they lacked details, a theory was all they could get.

"We should hurry then and prevent as much corruption as possible." Shard concluded.

Roshi looked at Shard "He's right, if Galavatron is trying it, it has to be possible" he said as he started to run down the hall Steelhide "Is there a way to reverse the corruption?" he asked Steelhide sighed "Without a liason to the core there is none, we need a Prime" he replied.

Drake looked at him weird "What is a Prime?" he questioned "A Prime is one who has a direct connection with the core, he would be able to slow the corruption atleast, however the only way for a Prime to be choosen is one must connect with the core and if Galvatron does that, all hope will be lost" he answered as they continued on down the hall. Drake came to a stop "How far is the core from here?" Drake asked

Steelhide looked around "About another 3 miles from here, we need to hurry " Drake pointed to a small corridor "That looks like it was designed for humans to get through, me and Roshi will head that way, you two keep going down this way." Drake said as he and Roshi went down the smaller corridor.

Shard looked down both passage ways. He didn't like the idea of splitting up but Drake was right, they didn't have much time. They needed to get Galvatron away from the core as soon as possible. Shard followed after Steelhide and left Roshi and Drake behind. "Steelhide. If we get to the core before Galvatron, can you intereface with the Core and become a Prime so that Galvatron can't?

Drake and Roshi ran down the hall until it seemed to come to a dead end "What the hell is that pit?" Drake said looking down, it seemed like a steep fall but it probably wasn't "Not sure" Roshi said he pointed "We're going the right way though, see the Deceptidroids, looks like their trying to corrupt more of the area" he told them, "So, this is a service tunnel, means we should be able to by pass them right to the core" he said looking around.

"There" Drake said going over to an elevator "This must be it" Drake and Roshi climbed on and rode the elevator down it dinged the door opened and Drake sighed as the Deceptidroids had guns pointed at them. "Stupid elevator!" Drake yelled activating his saber, Roshi did as well as they both took cover from the fire.

One of the Deceptidroids looked around "Galvatron we've found the two Jedi" he said "Fools walked right into my trap" Galvatron said he was nearly at the core, everywhere he stepped was turning into black crystal.

Steelhide continued down the hall with Shard "No, I cannot connect with the core, it is not within my programming, perhaps you can though. As a force usser you have a better chance than I" he looked around at the corruption "We are close" Steelhide could hear the sound of battle "Something is happening, we must hurry"

Shard rushed forward into a band of Deceptidroids. They were firing at someone down the hallway. The area was a vicious choke point so neither side could gain any ground. Shard however had the drop on them from behind. He fired a mini concussion missile from his wrist and yelled "TANK MISSILE!" right before it hit one of the deceptidroids in the back with a *tink* sound and exploded, blowing the huge droid up.

The others turned around to face him and he ignited his lightsaber. Steelhide came in behind him, weapons blasting. Shard leaped forward and sliced into the nearest droid, cutting his arms and legs off, then deflected two blaster bolts back into the chest of another droid.

Drake and Roshi was still behind cover as the droids continued to fire on them. Drake smirked and whipped around the corner throwing his saber cutting the legs off one of the droids Roshi then force pushed it to the ground causing it to shoot some of its buddies. Drake noticed that a few more were exploding, it was Shard and Steelhide. "Hmm back up" Drake said he ran out there and jumped on one of the droids cutting its head off.

Roshi followed suit going over to a large door once the droids were distracted "Is this it?" he asked Steelhide fired again "Yes that is the final door to the core" he yelled.

Shard drove his lightsaber through the chest of another droid and then body slammed it into the ground. "Can we open it and then seal it shut from the other side?" Shard yelled. The droids in this area were many and getting through the thick door would provide them with some protection while they figured out what to do with the Core.

His sonic cannon blasted away at Galvitron, pushing against him harmlessly.

Galvatron continued to walk to the door of the core, he looked at the Jedi that were fighting "Pathetic!" he yelled holding out his hand black crystals started to rush towards everyone destroying everything in its path "No one is going to stop my reign!" he yelled out.

Drake growled as he stepped back some avoiding the crystals "Shit" he growled as he slamed into the wall. Roshi turned towards Galvatron as he made his way over to them "The core shall be mine!" Growled Galvatron as he pointed his cannon at Shard and fired a large blast at him.

"Down" yelled Steelhide as he pushed Shard down and was shot in the back Steelhide rolled over hurt. Galvatron laughed as he stopped at the door of the core and held his hand out, dark energon started to force the door open.

Shard's sonic cannon fired and struck the dark energon crystals that were blasted towards him. the crystals shattered into powder from the blast and Shard held his ground. When Steelhide took the hit for him, Shard knelt next to the fallen droid and covered him with his own body, shielding him from the falling dark energon crystals. Shard waved a hand out sending a wave of the force to clear the crystals from the air.

He looked down at Steelhide and patted the droid on the back before standing back up and reaching out with the Force to Galvitron. "Oh no you don't you giant bastard." Shard tugged on his arms to try and pull him over. Shard advanced with his red lightsaber ignited.
