Chapter 15
Cameron’s body stiffened as a surge of electricity passed through her systems. Her body immediately went limp.
Jesse coughed and rubbed her neck for a split second. “I need a knife...NOW!” she yelled, as she quickly flipped Cameron over onto her stomach, moving the wires away carefully. “We’ve got two minutes before her systems reboot.” She gritted her teeth as she began moving Cameron’s hair away in preparation to cut open her epidural layer to get to her chip.
Jango quickly reached down and grabbed a spare knife that he had in his boots, and ran over to Jesse, handing her the knife, handle first.
Jesse nodded in thanks as she began to cut into the right side of Cameron’s head. “Seventy seconds!” she said, as she continued to cut. “Fifty seconds...Come on...Yes, there!” Jesse gritted her teeth again as she began to pry the chip covering off. “Twenty seconds,” she muttered to herself. She began to grab the chip when she suddenly felt movement beneath her. “Shit. She’s waking up!” Jesse quickly scrambled off Cameron, putting as much distance as she could between herself and the female terminator. “Must have mistimed it,” she growled.
Sabe looked at Chris and said, “And take us to safety Commander.” She put her hand on his shoulder. “Be calm and patient,” she said. “Now lead us to safety.”
Obi-Wan watched as Jango, Jesse, and the other dealt with Miss Tin.
Chris nodded, inhaling a large breath. “Right...right, stay calm. Sorry...this is just getting really crazy,” he said, leading the decoy Queen as well as the actual one out of their quarters. He slowly led them through the halls. “Not sure where we’re gonna go, but we can’t stay here while Cameron’s going insane.”
“Our rifles don’t have the right temperatures to penetrate her,” Panaka said, firing a few shots anyway. “Got any other ideas?”
Jesse exhaled softly as she held the knife in her hand. “Come on...come on, Tin Miss, come get me!” she yelled, trying to draw Cameron’s attention towards her. “Shock her again! I need to get that chip out!” she said quickly. “It’s the only way we can stop her.”
Kira thought for a moment, then shot Cameron three times in the back of the head. “Hey! Get the hell away from her!” she snarled.
Cameron turned around quickly to face Kira, and promptly returned fire. Three shots left her 9MM, one missing and lodging itself into a wall, the second bullet embedded itself into Kira’s right shoulder, and the third into her stomach.
Jango snarled as he quickly knelt down beside Kira, firing several shots into Cameron with one of his Westar blasters.
Stupid woman, why the kriff did she do that for?! Jango thought angrily as he ducked, a bullet whizzing past his ear and out the loading ramp. Glancing down at Kira, he wrapped his arms around her carefully and pulled her in towards him. “Brilliant idea, gorgeous,” he whispered sarcastically into her ear.
“Shut up, you’re not helping,” Kira hissed back, her left hand resting on her stomach wound.
Obi-Wan pulled out a lightning whip and his saber. “Here,” he said giving the lightning whip to Jesse. “Damn Kira,” he cursed.
Sabe smiled at Chris and said, “Our chamber quickly. Come along Padme and my other friends.”
“Right, let’s go,” Chris said, keeping his eyes and ears as open and alert as possible, while he led the way to the main chamber.
Panaka watched as now both Kira and Jesse were shot, and Jango was busy tending to Kira, while Obi-Wan was still by Jesse. He was pretty much the only one left completely unoccupied, with Chris off trying to save Sabe and Padme.
Cameron’s attention had shifted entirely from him...that was a good thing, at the moment. It’ll take more than average firepower to get her down, he thought to himself.
An idea sprang to mind. One so insane, that to him it looked almost too mad...it had the small potential to kill them all, but if done right, however crazy it may be, it could kick Cameron out of commission for a time and save their lives.
Without a moment to spare, Panaka took out a grenade, and darted forward.
Cameron, no doubt, had three times the strength of him, if not much more. However, she was distracted, so he may be able to get a hold of her for a millisecond, which was all he needed. He grabbed her quickly, calling upon all his strength, and in the next instant, activated the grenade.
He proceeded to shove it right into Cameron’s mouth.
Cameron quickly dropped to the ground and kicked out, planting her foot into Panaka’s knee. She remained crouched and glanced up at Jesse just in time to see the lightning whip wrap around her neck.
SZZZZT!
Cameron’s body stiffened again, and she slumped to the ground motionless.
Jesse quickly scrambled over to Cameron’s body and grabbed hold of the top of her chip. “Here we go,” she muttered, turning Cameron’s chip counter clock wise half a degree, then she yanked it out, deactivating Cameron for the time being.
Kira gritted her teeth as she leaned against Jango. “Goddamn it,” she muttered, grimacing at the pain in her stomach and shoulder.
Obi-Wan walked over to Kira knelt down beside her and said, “Let me look.” He examined her wound on her shoulder and stomach. “Relax I am going to heal you with the Force,” he said. “So Jay don’t bite my head off.”
Obi-Wan put his hand on Kira’s stomach and shoulder and used the Force to heal her. Ten minutes later he walked over to Jesse and examined her leg. “Are you all right?” he asked with concern in his voice.
Anakin ran as fast as he could once he heard Watto’s voice. He tripped over a few things and hoped that Watto didn’t hear them. “I’m here! I’m here!” Anakin cried appearing before the toydarian.
Jesse nodded. “Yeah, I’ve had worse,” she said, giving a bit of a laugh, while struggling to get up onto the nearby bench.
Jango scowled as he looked at Kira. “Don’t do that again, you hear me?” he growled softly. “I can’t afford to lose you, ever,” he whispered quietly. “I love you. I want you to know that,” he added softly.
Kira smiled softly as she hugged him. “I know,” she said, blushing slightly.
Jesse thought for a moment as she glanced down at the chip in her hand. “I guess I could try reprogramming her,” Jesse mused, pondering the idea.
Mos Espa Watto gave Anakin an annoyed look as he spoke. “Coona tee-tocky malia?” he asked, raising his hand slightly.
Obi-Wan glared at Jesse and said, “No! You are not reprogramming.”
Mos Espa Kayla pulled out her comlink to contact Obi-Wan. “How did it go?”
Ship Obi-Wan heard the comlink. “Everything is fine and under control,” he said signing off in a haste. If he master found out about this he would be in deep shit.
Anakin dashed over to where Watto was. He knocked over a few things hoping Watto didn’t hear it. “Sorry, I was busy fixing some tech you broke earlier,” Anakin said, with his head down avoiding eye contact. “Won’t happen again.”
Jesse glared back. “Hey! If I don’t and Carter comes back, I don’t want to go through this again! Taking down Carter, if and when he’s reactivated will be much easier if we have Tin Miss on our side!” Jesse retorted. “And I may not like any of the metal that have been reprogrammed, but I’m not suicidal either.”
Jango thought for a moment, and frowned slightly. “And what if she reverts back again?” he asked, pulling Kira closer towards him.
Mos Espa Watto scowled even more as the boy came in late. “Chut-Chut! Ganda doe wallya. Me dwana no bata,” he snarled, before turning towards Qui-Gon. “Soooo, let me take thee out back, huh? Ni you’ll find what you need,” he said, grinning while chuckling, and fluttering back towards the junk yard, Qui-Gon silently following him.
Qui-Gon paused for a moment, the grabbed a part from Jar Jar’s hands. “Don’t touch anything,” he warned.
Obi-Wan looked at Jesse and said, “Fine go ahead, but if he comes after us. I’m kicking your ass.”
Mos Espa Jar Jar stuck out his tongue and he continued about his business.
Panaka limped forward, with one leg up in the air. “I think she broke my knee in the middle of that attempt,” he commented in pain, before looking to Obi-Wan and Jesse. “But at least she’s taken down now...good work, you two, or we’d all be dead by now.”
Chris heard that the large battle has ceased. He hesitantly looked to Sabe and Padme. “Queen Amidala, I believe the fight is over,” he told Sabe. “Everything’s gone quiet, and she hasn’t come to kill us yet, so I think we’re good.
Anakin just noticed the new customers that were with Watto. “I can show them around. I am better at explaining things,” Anakin said trying to please Watto.
Mos Espa Watto grunted in agreement. “Fine,” he said, turning his attention back towards Qui-Gon.
Main Hold, Naboo Cruiser Jesse sighed as she glanced down at the chip in her hand again. “I’ll see what I can do with it,” she mused, gently putting the chip in her pocket.
Obi-Wan walked over to Panaka and healed his leg. “There you are good to go,” he said.
Panaka nodded, feeling the pain in his leg ease up with the help of the Force. “Thanks...may ache for a little while but this’ll continue to let me do my job,” he said with a nod of gratitude towards Obi-Wan.
Chris very hesitantly entered, making sure the coast was clear. He breathed in relief once he saw that everyone was fine. He turned to Sabe. “Queen Amidala, everything’s alright now,” he assured.
Obi-Wan looked at Panaka and nodded.

Chapter 16
Sabe head her head up high and looked sternly at Chris and then that stern face of hers turned into a smile. “I believe you Commander Chris,” she said. “However lead me to my chamber so I can change.”
“You’re right, don’t want anyone to see you out of your outfit...sorry about all of this, both of you,” Chris said, also looking to Padme, the true Queen. He gave her a nod as he led Sabe back to her quarters.
Once inside, the two were alone. Chris looked at Sabe’s face for a long moment...he didn’t know what to think or feel.
He had kissed her once randomly, she had kissed him twice...was there something brewing, or was it just his imagination?
Would this even be condoned in a time like this, where Sabe was posing as a Queen on the run?
“You’re so beautiful,” Chris simply whispered, still looking at her face. Right now, just this once, it won’t matter.
Chris did what his gut was telling him to do, and leaned in and kissed Sabe.
Sabe was shocked when Chris leaned in to kiss her. Sabe smiled and then she wrapped her arms around Chris’s waist and kissed him back. Then she broke the kiss for air and she sighed. “So...what does this mean?” she asked while still having her arms wrapped around him.
Chris was actually surprised when Sabe wrapped her arms around him, though he really shouldn’t be. “I...I don’t know. This is all so sudden...we’re running for our lives, and you and I are kissing each other...I’m not sure what I feel right now, or if I should feel anything at the moment,” he told her.
Sabe smiled and said, “Well I suppose this means no matter what happens...” She paused for a moment as she looked at Chris. “That we’ll be with each other in the end?”
Chris smiled lightly. “Honestly....I don’t know, but...but...maybe I’d like that. A lot is going on right now, and I think we both have feelings, but right now, we just need to take it easy and focus on all the current stuff we’ve got going on,” he told her.
Sabe smiled and said, “I’d like that too. And yes we should take it slow.” She released him and kissed him one last time. “I better get changed,” she said. “You don’t have to leave, you can stay in. I’ll be in my changing room but before I do…” She went to her closet and pulled out a dark blue dress and a red dress. “Which dress should I wear?” she asked.
Chris actually laughed. “Are you serious? You’re asking me, a security guy, which dress you should wear? I’m not really experienced in that sort of area, but if you really want me to tell you...uhhh, I guess the red one?” he replied with a shrug.
This was far from his area of expertise, indeed.
Sabe grinned. “My thought exactly,” she said as she put the blue dress in the closet. She went to her changing room and she changed her clothes and then she put on her make-up.
“You look nice,” Chris commented, glancing around afterwards. “Wow...what a day. I’m just glad everyone is okay.”
But they may not be if that Terminator decides to come back...
Sabe smiled and said, “Thanks.” Then she nodded her head in agreement. “I’m glad everyone is fine too,” she said. “Lead the way commander.”
Chris nodded, turning and heading out the door with Sabe behind him. They walked through the halls together once again, much more freely than five minutes ago. They soon came upon everyone else in another room.
“We heard all of the chaos,” Chris commented. “Looks like everyone made it out safe, though.”
Panaka nodded at Chris, then looked to Sabe. “I apologize, Queen Amidala...I think we’ve all made some mistakes. But like the Commander said, luckily, we all made it out alive.”
Sabe nodded and said, “That’s all right Captain. You go and get some rest and I won’t take no for an answer.”
Panaka hesitated slightly, looking to everyone else. “I really should stay and monitor everything else, like the Jedi out in Mos Espa, and make sure everything stays alright here...but if you insist,” he said, beginning to leave.
Sabe smiled and said, “We will be fine Captain. Besides...” She paused to glance at Chris. “We have the Commander who can take care of things. When you are feeling better you may come back or I will send Padme to get you.”
Panaka nodded, then looked to Chris. “Keep things under control, Commander,” he ordered.
Chris saluted. “Yes, sir!” he said obediently.
With that, Panaka left.
Jesse glanced down at the chip in her hand as she sat in the storage room. Now...let’s see if I can actually remember how to reprogram the damn things, she thought for a moment, then gently began scraping away some the residue on Cameron’s chip. “She’ll be apples,” Jesse mused, continuing her work.
Obi-Wan watched as Jesse went about her business. “Need some help?” he asked.
“So is there any way to keep Cameron from reverting to her original programming again? In fact, I’m not sure how she did in the first place...minus the wanting to kill Panaka incident, she seemed pretty calm and civil,” Chris said, crouching down beside Jesse.
Jesse shrugged. “Don’t know. Though, she was beat up pretty bad when she came onboard...must have gotten into a fight before she came back to the cruiser,” Jesse mused, continuing to clean off the remaining residue on Cameron’s chip. “And I’ll be fine, I don’t need any help, but thank you,” she added, smiling softly at Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan smiled. “No problem,” he said. “I’ll just watch. If she goes crackers I’m blaming you.” He smirked cheekily as he kissed Jesse on the cheek.
Jesse shook her head in amusement. “If she reverts again, I’m burning her to a crisp,” she replied, a slight red tinge adorning her cheeks as Obi-Wan kissed her cheek. She thought for a moment, then glanced down at the chip again. “I think we’re just about ready to test to see if Tin Miss will be fixed,” she finally said.
Kira sighed as she stood in the doorway of the Storage area. “I still don’t think that’s a good idea,” she said, frowning slightly. “What if it doesn’t work?” she asked. “What then?”
“Then we blow her head off with this,” Jesse said, pulling out a 12 gauge flechette shotgun from the footlocker sitting beside her, and resting it on her lap.
Obi-Wan smirked and then he backed out of the way. He was surprised Jesse did not kill him for doing that.
Chris stood, nodding. He was glad that someone had the proper weaponry to take these things out, because right now, he sure didn’t. Whenever the chance came around, he’d have to make a note to upgrade all of his weapons.
He also spotted Obi-Wan kissing Jesse...it wasn’t any of his business, so he would not comment, but he and Sabe were starting to fall for each other...Kira had come back with that random guy that seemed to like her, and now the Jedi was kissing Jesse. Hormones are raging on this ship.

Chapter 17
Jesse breathed in deeply as she moved over towards Cameron’s body. “Here we go,” she muttered, inserting Cameron’s chip in all the way, reactivating her.
Two minutes later Cameron’s head twitched slightly to the right as her systems rebooted.

Cameron’s eyes remained focused on the wall as she sat up, smoothing out her hair and the chunk of epidural layer that Jesse had cut into, back down onto her head where it belonged, effectively hiding her chip port.
“Hey, Tin Miss, look over here for a moment,” Jesse breathed in again as Cameron turned her attention towards her. “Promise not to kill me or anyone else on board this ship?” she asked, handing a 9MM pistol over to Cameron.
Cameron raised the gun slightly, then paused.
IDENTIFICATION_JESSE SOLO OBJECTIVE_TERMINATE................ TERMINATION OVERRIDE IN PROGRESS...........ORDER OVERRIDDEN
She smiled and lowered the 9MM handgun. “Promise,” Cameron said, handing the gun back to Jesse.
Obi-Wan smiled and said, “Good. She’s back to normal.” He sat back and sighed.
Jesse smiled again and stood up, walking out of the storage area. Thank God that worked, she mused, entering the main hold.
Cameron watched as Jesse left the storage area completely, before turning her attention to Obi-Wan and Chris. “Don’t let her do it again. If I ever go bad, don’t let her bring me back,” she said seriously, getting to her feet.
Obi-Wan nodded and said to Cameron, “All right if that’s what you wish.”
Chris raised an eyebrow at Cameron’s request...it was a weird one, to him. But he had to keep in mind that she wasn’t a human, as much as she looked like one on the outside. She had different logic than any of them did. “Alright...like Obi-Wan said, if that’s what you want,” he said with a nod.
Anakin bowed before the tall simple looking man, Qui-Gon Jinn. “I’m Anakin Skywalker. You got something broken. I’m the guy who can fix it.”
Anakin looked at Kayla and asked, “Are you an angel?”
Kayla looked at Anakin with a puzzled look. “What?” she asked.
“An angel,” Anakin said. “I heard the deep space pilots talk about them. They are the most beautiful creatures in the universe. They live on the moons of Iego, I think.”
Kayla smiled. “You’re a funny little boy. How do you know so much?”
“I listen to all the traders and star pilots who come through here,” Anakin said. “I’m a pilot, you know, and someday I’m gonna fly away from this place.”
“You’re a pilot?” Kayla asked with great interest.
“Mm-hmm,” Anakin said. “All my life.”
“How long have you been here?” Kayla asked.
“Since I was very little. Three, I think. My Mom and I were sold to Gardulla the Hutt, but she lost us, betting on the Podraces,” Anakin said.
“You’re a slave?” Kayla asked.
“I’m a person, and my name is Anakin,” he corrected.
“I’m sorry,” Kayla said. “I don’t fully understand.”
Jar Jar pushed the nose on what appeared to be a little droid, and it instantly came to life, legs and arms, and started marching around, knocking over everything. Jar Jar tried to hold on but can’t stop it.
“Hit the nose!” Anakin said.
Jar Jar hit the nose, and the droid collapsed back into its original state. Anakin and Kayla laugh. Anakin watched Kayla straighten her hair.
Sabe watched as everyone got distracted and she took this moment to leave the room unseen and then she heads to her quarters.
Junk Shop Watto grinned as he glanced at a portable monitor before turning his attention back towards Qui-Gon. “A T-14 hyperdrive generator. Thee in luck. I’m the only one hereabouts who has one...but thee might as well buy a new ship. It would be cheaper I think, huh?” He chuckled for a moment. “Saying of which, how’s thee going to pay for all this, huh?” he asked, staring at the older man curiously.
Qui-Gon gave a casual shrug. “I have 20,000 Republic Dataries,” he replied.
“Republic credits?!? Republic credits are no good out here. I need something more real...” Watto replied, giving Qui-Gon a look of disgust.
Qui-Gon shook his head. “I don’t have anything else.” He paused for a brief moment, and waved his hand in a subtle manner. “But credits will do fine.”
Watto snarled. “No they won’t!”
Qui-Gon scowled slightly and waved his hand again, using his Jedi Mind Trick. “Credits will do fine,” he repeated.
“No, they won’t! What, you think you’re some kind of Jedi, waving your hand around like that? I’m a Toydarian. Mind tricks don’t work on me. Only money. No money, no parts, no deal! And no one else has a T-14 hyperdrive, I promise you that!” Watto said, pointing his finger in Qui-Gon’s face.
Naboo Cruiser, Main hold Kira blinked as she gently leaned against Jango. “Cameron, what the hell are you doing?” she asked, looking at the female cyborg.
Cameron stood perfectly still, not bothering to look at Kira as she replied, “This is the absolute center of the ship.” She tilted her head slightly, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
Jango gave Cameron an amused look. “You can actually detect the center of the ship?” Jango asked, his arms wrapped around Kira’s waist.
“Yes,” she replied, finally glancing over at the pair. “My systems are much more advanced than the cybernetics that are currently used in this universe,” she added.
Should Chris be surprised at this point at anything that the ‘Tin Miss’ as Jesse had cleverly coined her did? No, he shouldn’t. So, instead, he’s going to check on Sabe.
Chris turned to leave the room, heading after Sabe. He knew this had to be tough on her...not only the circumstances of their main mission, but the feelings that seemed to be growing between them. It was confusing, and hard to take all at once.
He slowly entered her quarters. “Hey, are you okay?”
Into Watto’s Junk Shop Jar Jar pulled apart out of a stack of parts to inspect it, and they all came tumbling down. He struggles to catch them, only to knock more down.
Anakin and Kayla were oblivious.
“Wouldn’t have lasted long if I weren’t so good at fixing things...” Anakin muttered.
Kayla looked at Anakin and watched as he fixed a part.
Naboo Cruiser, Main hold Obi-Wan watched as Cameron went to the center of the ship.
Sabe heard someone enter her room and she looked up when she saw it was Chris and smiled. “Yeah I’m fine,” she said. “Just have a lot on my mind is all. About this and about...us. Not that I regret kissing you or anything like that because I don’t.” She changed out of her outfit and put on her handmaiden outfit that was dark blue and she sat down on her bed. “Come sit,” she said as she patted a spot next to her.
“I know...I’ve sorta thought the same,” Chris said as he sat down. He stared right at Sabe, long and hard. “It may be best if we just...wait. Don’t rush into this, just wait until this whole thing is over, then we can figure out what to do about...us.”
Junkshop Qui-Gon scowled slightly as he entered the Junk shop, walking past Jar Jar. “We’re leaving, Jar Jar,” he said.
Naboo Cruiser, Main hold Jesse smirked. “Must admit, they’re pretty, unique advanced cybernetic systems. Coltan endoskeleton…which explains why they’re so dense,” Jesse said, grinning in amusement.
Cameron turned to Jesse, who was standing beside Obi-Wan. “Not density, heat resistance. T-600 models had a titanium alloy endoskeleton, but it was vulnerable to heat. Coltan alloys have a much higher melting point,” she replied.
Jesse snorted. “God, you know what I love about you guys? Even when you’ve evolved into the ultimate indestructible killing machines, you’re not above self-examination and improvement,” she retorted.
Cameron smiled slightly. “Thank you.”
Jesse rolled her eyes. “Please shut up,” she muttered, crossing her arms over her chest.
Jango chuckled softly, and shook his head. “Think that one flew right over her head,” he mused, gesturing towards Cameron.
Kira snickered slightly. “You think?” she asked, gently resting her head against Jango’s shoulder.
Junk Shop Kayla turned to look at Anakin and said, “I’m glad to have met you, Anakin.” She smiled sweetly.
“I’m glad to have met you too!” Anakin called out to her.
Naboo Cruiser, Main hold Obi-Wan listened as Jesse spoke and he wrapped his arms around Jesse. “You know you are rather cute at times.” He kissed her on the lips.
Sabe looked at Chris. “I have thought about that, but I can’t help the way I feel about you,” she said. She needed to get her feelings out into the open. “I’ve always...felt something for you.” She looked at Chris. “Even before all this happened those feelings kept coming no matter how much I wanted to deny it.”
“Um, wow,” Chris said breathless. He didn’t know how to take that in, though it explained her kissing him when she first saw him back on Naboo, before she began officially playing the Queen. “I...I’m starting to like you, too, but I don’t know. We just need to...wait, in my opinion. Until we have our planet back.”
Jesse gasped softly as Obi-Wan kissed her. What the hell is he doing? she asked herself, pulling away abruptly. “What the HELL did you do that for?” she asked, still somewhat surprised.
Jango gave an amused snort. “He’s dead,” he muttered under his breath, an impish grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
Kira glanced at Jango and flicked his forehead with her index finger. “Shut up, will you?” she asked, giving him an amused look.
“And since when do I ever listen to yo---” Jango paused for a moment. “Wait. Never mind, forget I said anything,” he said, giving his head a light shake.
Junk Shop Watto snarled as he watched Qui-Gon, Kayla and Jar Jar leave his shop. “Ootmians! Tinka me chasa hopoe ma booty na nolia,” he grumbled, glancing at Anakin.
Obi-Wan smiled and said, “Because I can. And don’t pretend that you didn’t like it.”
Sabe smiled and said, “That works just fine for me, but I ask for one little favor.” She smiled. “Kiss me and make it a good one.” She smirked slyly for a moment. “I hate for anything to happen to you in this mess.”
Junkshop Anakin jumped off the counter. “Yippee!” he said as he went to clean the rack.
Chris hesitated at first, but then he grinned. “You know what...one kiss can’t hurt. One until we can solve all of this.” he said, then leaned in. He gently touched Sabe’s face and kissed her, giving in entirely for a long moment.
Jesse glared at him, a slight red tinge creeping across her cheeks. “Right and you would know that how?” she asked sarcastically. “Did your Jedi senses tell you that?” she added, leaning against the wall.
Jango smirked even more, crossing his legs at his ankles. “One for Jesse, zero for Obi-Wa---” He started to say, before Kira’s hand shot out, and clamped over his mouth, silencing him.
She sighed and shook her head. “Idiot, I said, shut up,” she said, glaring playfully at him.
Obi-Wan smirked and said, “Yes, they did and they also told me that you are being a hard ass about this.”
Suddenly Kayla appeared onboard the ship and quipped, “Well, well, well. If it isn’t love at first site?”
Sabe smirked and wrapped her arms around Chris’s broad shoulders and she kissed him back deeply. She pulled back slightly for air though her lips never left his and she said softly, “I have loved you for a long.”
“Wow...I never knew. I...I’m starting to develop feelings for you, too, Sabe,” Chris admitted, smiling. “But let’s see this mission through before we do anymore.”
“Yeah? Well, why don’t you go and shove that lightsaber of yours up your a---” Jesse’s retort was interrupted as Kira coughed loudly.
“Now, now, children, play nice,” she quipped, grinning wickedly, linking the fingers of her left hand with Jango’s right.
Jesse rolled her eyes slightly. “You should know by now that I never play nice,” she responded, before glancing back at Obi-Wan. “By the way, your fly’s still open,” she added, her face completely blank as she walked past him.
Obi-Wan laughed and kissed Jesse again. “Just do us a favor and shut up,” he said. Then he glared at Kayla. “Why don’t you take Jesse’s advice about the saber thing?”
Kayla sat there laughing. “Hell no then I have to kill you,” she retorted.
Sabe smiled and said, “I know, but I just thought you should know though. I mean you would have eventually found out.” She pulled herself up and laughed softly. “A bit weird, isn’t it?” she asked. “That we start having feelings for each other right in the middle of a crisis with the Federation? If you had feelings for me before why didn’t you tell me?” She looked at him with a curious expression.
“I’m not sure I did, Sabe...I mean, you were cute and all, but I don’t think I started to feel anything until this all started...and yeah, it’s pretty weird. Which is why we should sort this all out after it’s over, in my opinion,” Chris told her.
Sabe nodded. “I know and I understand what you’re saying,” she said with a smile. She wasn’t upset or anything at what Chris said. She understood and plus they both had their duties to perform. “I was just letting you know how I felt. But like you said though we still can wait until after the mission and see where that leads us. Your honesty is one of the things I admire the most after all.” She changed into one of her lighter outfits that was red.
“Thanks...I’m glad we can be honest with each other. That’s a good sign, and after this is over, then we’ll talk,” Chris assured her with a nod. “But for now, any orders, my Queen?”
Sabe smiled and wrapped her arms around Chris’s waist. “No problem Commander,” she said. She thought for a moment and then smiled slyly and quickly kissed Chris on the lips before he could protest and then smirked. “I couldn’t help myself,” she said with an innocent smile. “Hmm...what could my orders be?”
Chris laughed. “You’re the most affectionate girl I’ve ever known...not that I am complaining,” he told her with a smirk. “And yeah, what could your orders be? Technically I am still serving under you so I need something to do.”
Sabe smiled and said, “Why thank you. You are a very charming man Chris.” She thought for a moment and said, “I can’t really think of any orders for you to do at the moment to be honest. Although you can take me down to where the holo net is so I can check on our people back home.”
Chris raised an eyebrow. “Sure that’s the best idea? They could find out you’re on it and trace our location. The Federation probably has control of everything on the planet,” he pointed out, worried slightly at this desire of Sabe’s.
Sabe smiled reassuring. “I’m not going to contact our homeworld,” she said. “I’m going to check and see if we’ve had any messages from Bibble. I remember Padme telling him to contact us if things get worse.”
Chris nodded, suddenly understanding what she was saying. “Oh, yeah, that’s a good idea. Come on, I’ll lead the way,” he said, heading for the door.
Sabe shook her head and smiled slightly. She followed Chris out the door. “Lead the way Commander,” she said.

Chapter 18
Qui-Gon pondered for a moment, as he and Jar Jar had left the shop shortly after Kayla. He pulls out his commlink, and steps near a wall. Activating it, he finally spoke. “Obi-Wan?” he asked.
Naboo Cruiser, Main hold Kira thought for a moment, then glanced at Cameron. “Tell me, what’s the chance of that other Terminator coming back here?” she asked, gently running her thumb against the back of Jango’s hand.
Cameron tilted her head to the side as she glanced at Kira. “There’s an 85% chance of him coming back within the next one to two days,” she replied calmly.
“And a 15% chance of him not coming, or actually being destroyed,” Jango said, a small frown tugging at the corner of his mouth as he hugged Kira against his side.
“The metal are unpredictable...well...sometimes at least,” Jesse added. “Though they do have a knack for appearing out of nowhere when you least expect them to...or when you don’t want them to.” She mused, sitting down on the bench across from Kira and Jango.
Chris led the way to Sabe’s main chamber near the front of the ship, where they could contact Bibble. “Whenever you’re ready, Queen Amidala,” he said to her with a bow.
Obi-Wan heard his communicator going off. “Yes Master?” he asked.
Kayla walked off the ship and headed back to where the others were and she ran into Jar Jar. “Damn it Jar Jar watch where the hell you are going,” she quipped.
“Hey, that will be seven truguts!!” the Vender said.
Jar Jar opened his mouth in surprise, and the frog snapped away, ricocheted around the market, and landed in Sebulba’s soup, splashing him. As Jar Jar moved away from the Vendor, Sebulbla jumped up on the table and grabed the helpless Gungan.
“Chuba!!” Sebulba growled in Huttesse. (“You!!”)
“Who, mesa??” Jar Jar asked.
“Ni chuba na??” Sebulba asked. (“Is this yours??”)
Sebulba held the frog up to the Gungan threateningly. Several other creatures start to gather. Sebulba shovedJar Jar to the ground. The Gungan desperately tried to scramble to safety.
“Why mesa always da one??”
“Because you’re afraid,” Anakin said.
Jar Jar turned to look at Anakin pushing his way next to him. The boy stood up to Sebulba in a very self-assured way.
“Chess ko, Sebulba...Coo wolpa tooney rana,” Anakin said. (“Careful, Sebulba...This one’s very connected.”)
Sebulba stopped his assault on Jar Jar and turned to Anakin.
“Tooney rana nu pratta dunko, shag?” Sebulba asked. (“Connected?? Whada you mean, slave?”)
“Oh da Hutt...cha porko ootman geesa...me teesa rodda co pana pee choppa chawa,”Anakin said. ( “As in Hutt...big time outlander, this one... I’d hate to see you diced before we race again.”)
“Neek me chowa, wermo, mo killee ma klounkee,” Sebulba said. (“Next time we race, wermo, it will be the end of you!”)
“Una noto wo shag, me wompity du pom pom,” Sebulba added. (“If you weren’t a slave, I’d squash you right now.”)
Sebulba turned away.
“Eh, chee bana do mullee ra,”Anakin said. (“Yeah, it’d be a pity if you had to pay for me.”)
Kayla walked over to where Jar Jar was and asked, “Do you like to cause trouble?” She shook her head.
“Hi! Your buddy here was about to be turned into orange goo. He picked a fight with a Dug. An especially dangerous Dug called Sebulba,” Anakin said.
“Nosir, nosir. Mesa hate crunchen. Dat’s da last ting mesa wanten,” Jar Jar said.
Sabe smiled and entered the main hull of the ship. “Well commander get the holo net up,” she said.
Chris set up the holo-link, trying to tap into the holonet on a secure channel back on Naboo. “Here we go,” he said to Sabe.
Qui-Gon scowled as he watched Jar Jar get into trouble...again. He shook his head as he turned his attention back towards Obi-Wan. “Obi-Wan, you’re sure there isn’t anything of value left on board? “ He asked.
Naboo Cruiser, Main Hold. Jesse thought for a moment, then shut her eyes, leaning her back against the wall as she began to sing quietly to herself. “I just got down from the isle of sky, I’m not very big, but I’m awful shy. The lassies shout as I walk by, Donald where’s your trousers?” She paused briefly before continuing. “Let the wind blow high, let the wind blow low. Down the streets in my kilt I’ll go, all the lassies cry hello, Donald where’s your trousers? “A small smile tugged at the corner of her lips as she continued to sing. “I went to a fancy ball, it was slippery in the hall, I was a feared that I may fall, cause I nay had on trousers. Let the wind blow high, let the wind blow low, through the streets in my kilt I’ll go, all the lassies cry hello, Donald where’s your trousers? The lassies love me everyone, but they must catch me if they can, you cannot put the breaks on a highland man, saying Donald where’s your trousers? Let the wind blow high, let the wind blow low, through the streets in my kilt I’ll go, all the lassies cry hello, Donald where’s your trousers? I went down to London town, to have a little fun in the underground. The ladies turned their heads around, saying Donald where’s your trousers? Let the wind blow high, let the wind blow low, through the streets in my kilt I’ll go, all the lassies cry hello, Donald where’s your trousers? Let the wind blow high, let the wind blow low, through the streets in my kilt I’ll go, all the lassies cry, hello. Donald where’s your trousers? Donald where’s your trousers? Donald where’s your trousers?” She smiled again, as she finally finished singing.
Obi-Wan thought for a moment. “The queen’s wardrobe maybe but not enough for you to barter with,” he said. “Not in the amounts you’re talking about.”
Then he heard Jesse sing and he literally was shocked. “Well this has been a shocking a day,” he quipped.
Outside Junkdealer shop Kayla looked at Anakin and smiled; he smiled back. They start walking down the crowded street.
“Mesa doen nutten!” Jar Jar said with indignity.
“Fear attracts the fearful. He was trying to overcome his fear by squashing you...be less afraid,” Anakin said.
“And that works for you?” Kayla asked.
“To a point,” Anakin said with a smile.
Fruit Stand Anakin and the group stop at a fruit stand run by a jolly, but very poor, old lady named Jira.
“How are you feeling today, Jira?” Anakin asked.
“The heat’s never been kind to me, you know, Ani!” Jira replied.
“Guess what? I’ve found that cooling unit I’ve been searching for. It’s pretty beat up, but I’ll have it fixed up for you in no time, I promise,” Anakin said.
“You’re a fine boy, Ani,” Jira said with a smile.
“I’ll take four pallies today,” Anakin said as he looked at Kayla. “You’ll like these...”
Anakin reached in his pocket and comes up with three coins. He dropped one. Qui-Gon picked it up, revealing for a moment, his lightsaber.
“Whoops, I thought I had more...Make that three, I’m not hungry,” Anakin said.
The wind picks up. Shop Owners are starting to close up their shops as Jira gave them their pallies.
“Gracious, my bones are aching...storm’s coming on, Ani. You’d better get home quick,” Jira said.
“Do you have shelter?” Anakin asked.
Qui-Gon frowned again. “All right. Another solution will present itself. I’ll check back,” he said, deactivating the commlink. He smiled slightly as he walked over to Anakin. “We’ll head back to our ship,” he said.
Naboo Cruiser, Main Hold Jesse shrugged. “Eh, it’s just a song I remember my mother singing to me as a child,” Jesse explained, glancing over at Obi-Wan.
“Is it far?” Anakin asked.
“On the outskirts,” Kayla said.
“You’ll never reach the outskirts in time...sandstorms are very, very dangerous. Come with me. Hurry!” Anakin said.
The group followed Anakin as he rushed down the windy street as Qui-Gon, Jar Jar, and Kayla follow Anakin down the street and into a slave hovel.
Anakin’s Hovel Qui-Gon, Jar Jar, Artoo, and Kayla enter a small living space.
“Mom! Mom! I’m home,” Anakin said.
“Dissen cozy,” Jar Jar said.
Kayla looked at Jar Jar and said, “Try not to touch anything.”
“This is Kayla Solo,” Anakin said.
Shmi Skywalker emerged from her work area, and is quite startled to see this large group before her. However, she looks gentle and sweet, a woman no more than forty. “Oh my, Ani, what’s this?” she asked in shock, looking to her son.
Qui-Gon gave a respectful bow. “I’m Qui-Gon Jinn, and this is Jar Jar Binks,” he said, gesturing at the Gungan.
Naboo Cruiser, Main Hold Cameron’s hand twitched as she walked down the ramp, her optical sensors compensating for the resulting sandstorm. Cameron tilted her head slightly before....
Thud!
Her body suddenly flew backwards and slammed into the wall opposite of the landing ramp. Cameron picked herself up immediately, and walked over to her assailant, backhanding them across the face. She ducked under a right cross, and grabbed her assailant’s arm and slammed them into a wall. She lashed out again, sending her knee into the assailant’s gut.
Crash!
Thud!
She hit the wall face first after being thrown across the main hold. One point two seconds pass before Cameron got to her feet again gracefully, stalking over towards her opponent, grabbing him by the shoulder and slamming him into the wall again. Cameron backhands him again, then a second time, only to have her arm grabbed by her opponent. She twisted her body, rotating her arms sharply to break his grip. She succeeded, and slammed him head first into the wall repeatedly. Her right hand gripped the back of his neck, and she took a couple large steps back, throwing him onto the floor face first. She crouched down and flipped him over, her fist colliding with his face, over and over again.
IDENTIFICATION_CARTER, T-888 SERIES THREAT LEVEL_10 REACTION_IMMEDIATE OBJECTIVE_TERMINATE
He tilted his head to the side, then grabbed Cameron by the shoulders. He flipped her onto the floor beside him, then quickly got to his feet. Briefly, for one point two seconds, he glanced over at Jesse, his eyes flashed red for a split second before his legs are swept out from underneath him.
Thud!
He turned his attention back to Cameron and slammed his fist into her face.
Cameron rolled to the side and got to her feet, she stared at Carter for one point five seconds before grabbing his wrists and flinging him into a nearby wall again. She backhands him across the face repeatedly, before her wrist was caught. She tilted her head slightly as Carter threw her down the hallway.
Thud!
Her body slammed against the metal floor, though she wasted no time getting back up, while pulling out her 9MM handgun. She fired several rounds into Carter’s chest, despite the fact that he just shrugged them off. She was thrown down the hall again, towards the storage area. Cameron glanced around, then grabbed a nearby metal pole, and slammed it into the side of Carter’s face. She swung the pole again.
Carter ducked and spun quickly on his right foot, allowing him to grab hold of the pole that Cameron was using against him. He yanked it towards the side, sending Cameron into the wall. Using his free hand, he delivers a quick hand chop to Cameron’s forearm, in an attempt to loosen her grip on the pole.
Cameron allowed her arms to stiffen completely, as she stepped backwards, letting go of the pole in the process. She lashed out, and kicked Carter directly in the chest, sending him flying down the hallway. She stalked after him, pulling out her switch blade.....
“Come on! Let me show you Threepio!” Anakin said.
Anakin led Kayla into the other room.
Artoo follows, beeping all the way.
Qui-Gan took five small capsules from his utility belt and handed them to Shmi.
Anakin entered his bedroom to show Kayla his protocol droid who was lying on his workbench. There was one eye in the head; the body, arms, and legs had no outer coverings.
“Isn’t he great?! He’s not finished yet,” Anakin said.
“He’s wonderful!” Kayla said with a smile.
“You really like him? He’s a protocol droid...to help Mom. Watch!” Anakin said.
Anakin pushed a switch, and the Droid sits up. Anakin rushed around, grabbed an eye and put it in one of the sockets.
A tall figure sat in the back of a local cantina. He was completely covered in black Armour except for his head. His helmet sat in front of him on the table, revealing his short brown hair, and below that, his stern face. Ifbo ‘Cmadee was currently acting as a bounty hunter. He held a comlink to his mouth and quietly spoke into it.
“Been hired to hunt some of those ‘Jedi’ again. They aren’t those magical creatures of spacer myth i keep hearing about.” He gave out a hearty chuckle.
“Last few ones I killed were just old hermits carrying sticks. None the less, I get great money for taking down these guys.” Ifbo looked to his sides to make sure no one was listening to him.
“My Intel says there are possible two or more Jedi here on Tatooine. The only one they had a description on was another old man. I think his name was Qui-Gin or something like that. Either way, he should stick out like a sore thumb down here.” Ifbo took a sip out of his drink and set it down.
“Killing has never been my thing, but it brings in the money. Money that I need to find my sister.”
Ifbo finished his drink and put on his helmet. He clipped the comlink to his belt and got up. He slowly stride to the door with his Kama swaying around his legs.
“Sandstorm going on out there,” A patron said to Ifbo as he walked to the door.
“I’m not afraid of sand,” he replied and walked outside.
Chunks of dirt and sand hit Ifbo’s Armour, but did nothing other than make an almost continuous clinking sound. He pulled out his data pad and turned it on.
-Last know location of Jedi: “Jira’s fruit stand”.
He turned off his data pad and started heading into the marketplace to begin his search.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you...sorry for being abrupt. I’ll never get used to Anakin’s surprises,” Shmi said with a chuckle as she looked at Qui-Gon and Jar Jar.
C-3PO, a barely put together droid, suddenly lifts up. “How do you do, I am See-Threepio, Human Cyborg Relations, how might I serve you?” he asked.
Naboo Cruiser Chris sighed. “We’re receiving a transmission from Governor Bi----” Chris began, but then heard a large ruckus echoing from the other part of the ship.
Here we go again.
He looked to Sabe. “Stay here,” he told her.
Chris rushed out, just in time to see Cameron nearly hit him as she was flung down the hallway.
“What the hell?!” he yelled.
He then saw Carter.
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she slammed Carter head first into a nearby wall. Two point three seconds pass as she grabbed his arms and lifted him into the air. A second passed before Cameron threw him down the hallway. She stalked after him again, grabbing him by the neck, she lifted him up slightly and slammed him back down onto the floor, over and over again.
Thud!
Cameron was sent flying, as Carter kicked her in the chest. She rolled to the side, then stood up. Her hand twitched slightly as she delivered a right cross to Carter’s jaw, causing him to stumble. Cameron grabbed the front of his shirt, then threw him down the landing ramp. She watched as the triple eight’s body started sliding down said ramp...
Thud!
Cameron’s body hit the ground, as Carter lashed out, grabbing her ankle and pulled her down with him. She stared down at him, and kicked him in the head while rolling to the side. She glanced up at Chris. “Get everyone to a safe area. Do not let anyone leave until I come and get you,” she said, getting to her feet at the exact same time that Carter was.
Carter tilted his head half an inch as he grabbed Cameron by the shoulders, and slammed her face first onto the edge of the door frame. He pinned her there, and backhands her across the back of her head. He briefly turned his attention towards Chris.
IDENTIFICATION_CHRIS THREAT LEVEL_5.5 REACTION_MEDIUM OBJECTIVE_NONE
He tossed Cameron back into the main hold of the ship, her body hitting the floor with a resounding ‘thud’. He paused for a moment, allowing Cameron to snap kick him in the chest.
Cameron pushed herself up onto her feet by using her hands, the epidural layers on her right cheek were almost completely torn away, leaving the Coltan metal exposed beneath. Synthetic blood trickled down from the wound. Cameron ignored it as she backhands Carter across the face again. She stared at Carter as her CPU came up with a solution to her problem.
She grabbed Carter’s arms and forced them upwards, her hands gripping his wrists. Slowly, she pulled both his arms back behind his head, causing the hydrolics in Carter’s arms to groan in protest. She pulled them down to a point where they jam almost completely. At the same time, she kicked out, sending Carter to the ground. She knelt down and grabbed his left leg. She smiled slightly as she began to bend Carter’s leg upwards, and behind his head. She did the same with the other one, in essence, turning the triple eight into a metal pretzel. She moved behind him and grabbed his neck with both hands, and with one violent twist, she broke Carter’s neck.
Carter’s body went completely stiff as he was deactivated: for good. Cameron tilted her head to the side as she removed Carter’s chip from the right side of his head. She stood up, while picking up Carter’s body in the process. She walked down the hallway, and towards the chamber that she saw Chris enter. She stepped into the room and tossed Carter’s pretzelized body onto the ground. “He won’t be a problem anymore,” she said, giving a small smile.
“When the storm is over, you can see my racer. I’m building a Podracer!” Anakin said.
Kayla smiled at his enthusiasm. Artoo let out a flurry of beeps and whistled.
Naboo Spacecraft Queen’s Chamber Amidala, Eirtae, Rabe, and Obi-Wan watch a very bad transmission of a Sio Bibble hologram.
“Cut off all food supplies until you return...the death toll is catastrophic...we must bow to their wishes, Your Highness...Please tell us what to do! If you can hear us, Your Highness, you must contact me...” Bibble said.
Amidala looked upset...almost nervous.
“It’s a trick. Send no reply... Send no transmission of any kind,” Obi-Wan said sternly
Anakin’s Hovel Qui-Gon’s comlink goes off and Obi-Wan’s voice comes through. “Master we have a bit of a situation on our hands,” he said. “We just receive word that Naboo’s death toll is catastrophic and that the people are dying.”
Threepio looked at R2 suspiciously. “I beg your pardon...what do you mean I’m naked?” he asked.
Naboo Cruiser Chris saw everyone listening to the message from Bibble, and decided to leave them for now, as the Terminator situation has also been resolved. He looked to Cameron. “Damn, you’re good,” he said, whistling. “Now, let’s go burn the body this time. We can do it outside.”
Qui-Gon shook his head and sighed. “It sounds like bait to establish a connection trace.” He thought for a moment, and scowled. “Either way, we’re running out of time.”
Naboo Cruiser Cameron smiled slightly as her hand twitched again. “Yes,” she said, picking up Carter’s body again. “We should. Everything needs to be burned. Though I’ll need to cut off the epidural layers. Those won’t be necessary to burn,” she added.
Kira gave Cameron a look of disgust at the last portion of her sentence. “That’s a lovely thought,” she said sarcastically leaning against the wall.
Artoo beeped at C-3PO.

Chapter 19
Coruscant Balcony overlooking the city at night, Darth Sidious and Darth Maul look out over the vast city. Darth Sidious stood high on a balcony overlooking Coruscant, his concealing black robes made him look like he was a creature produced by the night. Sidious’ thoughts were of the Sith and of the history of their order.
The Sith had come into being almost two thousand years ago. They were a cult given over to the dark side of the Force, embracing on the full concept that power denied was power wasted. A rogue Jedi Knight had founded the Sith, a dissident in an order of harmonious followers, a rebel who understood from the beginning that the real power of the Force lay not in the light, but in the dark.
“Tatooine is sparsely populated. If the trace was correct, I will find them quickly, Master,” Darth Maul said.
Threepio looked at himself, then made a mechanical gasp. “My parts are showing! Oh my goodness! How embarrassing!”
Naboo Cruiser Chris nodded. “You’d know best...now let’s go before he tries to repair himself again,” he said, leading them outside.
Sidious sneered as he glanced at Maul. “Move against the Jedi first...you will then have no difficulty taking the Queen back to Naboo, where she will sign the treaty,” he replied, a wicked grin tugging at the corner of his lips.
Naboo Cruiser Cameron finally gave Chris an amused look. “I don’t think he’d be able to repair himself this time,” she said. “I snapped his neck and took out his chip,” she added, tossing the body onto the sand. She knelt down, and began undoing the damage that she had done earlier. Finally, she straightened Carter’s right left out, so that he now looked completely normal again. She turned her attention back towards Chris. “Would you mind helping me with this?” she asked, taking out a second switchblade.
Darth Maul smirked wickedly. “At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last we will have revenge,” he said.
Naboo Cruiser Obi-Wan listened to the conversation at hand and said, “Yes, go burn his decaying corpse.”
“Sure,” Chris answered, starting to help Cameron with the switch blade. He smirked at her. “By the way, I think I actually saw a look of, dare I say, emotion on your face just a minute ago?”
Sidious smiled again. “You have been well trained, my young apprentice. The Jedi will be no match for you. It is too late for them to stop us now. Everything is going as planned. The Republic will soon be in my command.”
Tatooine desert Cameron smiled slightly again. “I don’t think you understand how we work,” she said, trailing off for a split second. “I have sensation. I feel. I wouldn’t be worth much if I couldn’t feel,” she added, as she finally began cutting away the epidural layers on Carter’s endoskeleton.
The hologram of Darth Maul faded off as Darth Sidious looked out over the city.
Mos Epsa Sandstorm the giant sandstorm engulfed the town, including the Naboo spaceship on the outskirts of the city center, where Watto’s shop was and the slave quarters, where sand began building up against Anakin’s house.
Anakin Skywalker’s Hovel, Main Room, Qui-Gon, Jar Jar, Kayla, and Anakin were seated around a makeshift table, having dinner as the wind howled outside.
Jar Jar slurped his soup rather loudly. Everyone looked at him. He turned a little brighter red.
“All slaves have transmitters placed inside their bodies somewhere,” Shmi said to the group.
Tatooine Desert Chris smirked. “Could’ve fooled me. I mean, no offense, but you’ve been cold as ice since we met you back on Naboo...but nice to know you’re a little more than that,” Chris commented, looking around as he felt some sand hit him, also feeling that the storm was very close by. “We should hurry and finish up.”
“Go. I’ll finish up,” Cameron said. “Besides, the chemical I’m going to use is potentially harmful to humans in its vapor form,” she added, gently sprinkling a white powdered substance around Carter’s body. She stood up and pulled out a lighter. Two point three seconds pass before Cameron flicked the lighter on and tossed it into the powder. She stepped backwards, taking several steps.
Flash!
Carter’s body went up in a controlled fire, due to the powder. His endoskeleton began to melt way quickly, the heat was intense. Several minutes went by and Cameron finally looked down at the pile of metal ashes that were once and endoskeleton. Glancing back at the ship, Cameron casually closed her right hand, concealing the chip that she did not burn, she quickly, and smoothly put the chip into her pocket. She walked back up the ramp and looked to Chris. “It’s done. The endoskeleton is burned. You can go look for yourself if you wish,” she added, giving a small smile.
“I’ve been working on a scanner to try and locate them, but no luck,” Anakin said.
Obi-Wan watched from the distance. He looked at Jesse and asked, “So you think we will have any more of them?”
“Any attempt to escape...” Shmi began.
Tatooine Desert Chris smirked. “No thanks...I think I trust that you got the job done,” he said, proceeding to head back up into the cruiser.
“And they blow you up...poof!” Anakin said.
Kayla and Jar Jar were horrified.
“How wude,” Jar Jar said.
“I can’t believe there is still slavery in the galaxy. The Republic’s anti-slavery laws...” Kayla said.
“Don’t know. I think Tin Miss over there is now the last of them,” Jesse said, gently leaning against the door frame. “As long as she doesn’t revert again, she’ll be apples,” she mused, as she watched the coming storm.
Storage Area Cameron’s hand twitched again as she walked into the storage area. She sat down at a nearby bench and pulled out her switch blade. Cameron stared down at her forearm as she began to cut into it. She made a small cut across her wrist, then cut down along her forearm and to the crook of her elbow. She made one more cut across her elbow before pulling the skin back on either side, exposing the hydrolic systems of her arm. She flexed her hand, carefully watching the metal in her arm to try and determine the amount of damage done. Her HUD showed her the connections for all of her fingers. All of them seem to be working, all except her thumb. She tilted her head to the side, her CPU trying to come up with a solution.
“The Republic doesn’t exist out here,” Shmi interrupted. “We must survive on our own.”
An awkward silence followed and Anakin attempted to end the embarrassment. “Have you ever seen a Podrace?”
Kayla shook her head no. She noticed the concern of Shmi. Jar Jar snatched some food from a bowl at the other end of the table with his tongue.
Qui-Gon sent Jar Jar a dirty look, before turning his attention towards Anakin. “They have Podracing on Malastare. Very fast, very dangerous,” he said, giving the boy a small smile.
Storage Area Jesse shook her head as she watched Cameron perform self-mutilation. “Even after all these years, I still don’t understand how you guys work…or what the hell possesses you to do the things you do,” she said, giving Cameron a look of disgust.
Cameron didn’t reply at first. She continued to work on repairing her arm, then finally she looked up. “You’ve tried to fix me: twice now. It isn’t working,” she said, turning her attention back to her arm.
Jesse sighed and shook her head. “So, any brilliant ideas, then?” she asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
“I don’t know,” Cameron replied. She closed her hand into a fist for a moment, then relaxed it again. “The damage is pretty deep,” she added.
“Right, well. Have fun then,” Jesse quipped, as she walked back into the main hold.
Anakin smiled and said, “I’m the only human who can do it.” He looked at his mother. “Mom, what? I’m not bragging. It’s true. Watto says he’s never heard of a human doing it,” he quipped.
Storage area Obi-Wan was sitting that with his arms crossed over his chest when Jesse came in. “Well this has been one hell of an adventure for me,” he said.
Qui-Gon smiled slightly again. “You must have Jedi reflexes if you race Pods,” he said. Suddenly, Jar Jar attempted to grab another piece of fruit with his tongue, but Qui-Gon caught it between his thumb and forefinger. “Don’t do that again,” he said, glaring at the Gungan.
Storage Area/Main Hold Jesse smirked slightly as she sat down beside him. “Can’t argue with you there,” she said, leaning her back against the wall. “And Tin Miss is currently performing self-mutilation on her arm right now.” A soft chuckle escaped Jesse’s lips as she spoke. “Seems that she’s still not one hundred percent,” she added, frowning slightly.
Anakin smiled.
Jar Jar attempted to snare another bit of food from the bowl with his tongue, but Qui-Gon, in a flash, grabbed it between his thumb and forefinger.
Jar Jar was startled.
Kayla rolled her eyes in dismay at Jar Jar.
Storage area/Main Hold Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow and said, “Oh great. More trouble.”
Sabe poked her head out and looked at Chris. “Is it safe to come out yet?” she asked.
Chris nodded with a smile. “Yeah, that first Terminator’s gone...this time, for good. Cameron and I made sure of that. His body was burnt, so we won’t see him again. I think we’re in the clear unless Cameron reverts again, which hopefully will not happen,” he assured Sabe.
Qui-Gon smirked slightly as he held Jar Jar’s tongue, while said Gungan mumbled incoherently. Suddenly, he let go, causing Jar Jar’s tongue to snap back into the Gungan’s mouth.
Main Hold Jesse thought for a moment. “We’ll just have to keep an eye on her, then,” she said with a shrug. “She’s an infiltrator. She wasn’t designed to fight other machines,” she added, shifting slightly so that she was now sitting cross-legged.
Jar Jar tried to acknowledge with some silly mumbling as he shook his head.
Anakin looked at Kayla and Qui-Gon and asked, “You’re both Jedi Knights, aren’t you?”
Kayla looked at Anakin and asked, “What makes you think that?”
“I saw your laser sword. Only Jedi carry that kind of weapon,” Anakin answered.
Main Hold Obi-Wan nodded his head in agreement.
Sabe followed Chris out of the room. “Lead the way Commander,” she said.
Chris nodded. “Back to your quarters, I guess?” he asked, already heading back to Sabe’s room. Wherever they were going, he was just glad that they were all still alive and that the Terminator ordeal had been overcome...for now.
He wouldn’t be surprised if that threat popped up again, though, but he just hoped they could get off this planet and deal with the Federation, first.
Qui-Gon smiled slightly and leans back. “Perhaps I killed a Jedi and stole it from him,” he said slyly, wanting to gauge the boy’s reaction.
Storage Area Kira smirked slightly as she sat down beside Jesse and Obi-Wan. “It’s been one hell of a ride, hasn’t it?” she mused, leaning back and crossing her ankles over one another.
“That it has,” Jesse mused, staring at the wall. Wonder what will happen now? she thought, gently rubbing the back of her neck with her hand.
“I don’t think so... No one can kill a Jedi Knight,” Anakin said.
Storage Area Sabe followed Chris to her room.
Obi-Wan nodded at Kira and said, “That is has indeed.” Obi-Wan looked at Jesse and said, “We’ll find out soon.”
Qui-Gon smiled sadly at the boy. “I wish that were so,” he said quietly.
Main hold Jesse gave a bit of a sigh as she glanced about the main hold. “Well, the only good thing about the metal is that they provide good entertainment when you have two of them trying to kill each other,” she mused, grinning slightly. “What to do now?” she muttered to herself, while gently running her hand through her hair.
Anakin looked at Qui-Gon and said, “I had a dream I was a Jedi. I had a dream I was a Jedi. I came back here and freed all the slaves...have you come to free us?”
Kayla drank her Jawa juice as she listened to Anakin talk.
Main hold Obi-Wan looked at Jesse and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her on the lips passionately.
Qui-Gon chuckled and shook his head. “No, I’m afraid not,” he replied, resting his elbows on the table, and clasping his hands together.
Main Hold Jesse gasped as Obi-Wan kissed her...again. What the HELL!? she thought, as she gently pulled away. “What the HELL do you think you’re doing?” she asked, moving away slightly while crossing her arms. She stared at him with a look of curiosity and shock. “I mean really, why the hell would you---” She was interrupted by a loud shout coming down the hall.
“KRIFFING HELL, WOMAN! WHY THE KARK DID YOU DO THAT FOR?!”
Kira laughed as she hurried into the main hold, holding a fairly large canister that was full of ice cold water. She grinned even more as she watched Jango come into the main hold, currently shirtless and holding his soaking wet shirt in his right hand. She gave a casual shrug. “Boredom?” she replied.
Jango glared at her as he ran his left hand through his slightly dampened hair. “Sometimes I question your sanity,” he grumbled, before throwing his wet shirt at Kira.
Kira grinned even more. “Really bad move, Jay....” She trailed off, grabbing his shirt from out of the air. “Cause like hell you’re going to get it back,” she added, sprinting towards the Storage area.
He swore again and took off after her. “Get back here, damn you!” Jango snarled.
Jesse blinked, then grinned in amusement. “That was entertaining,” she quipped, leaning her back against the wall.
Chris had escorted Sabe back to her quarters, when he heard more chaos going on in the Main Hold.
What in the hell can be going on now?! Seriously, what more can these people do?! This is just a Naboo Cruiser, not a blasted Coruscant Nightclub!
However, he smiled at Sabe. “I will go see what that is all about, Queen Amidala...” he told her.
Chris marched off, but as he was charging forward, Kira and a shirtless Jango ran past him.
Yeah, this is a nightclub.
He walked into the Main Hold, and looked around at everyone. “Yeah, so what’s going on now? I hear you scream something,” he said, motioning to Jesse. “Then I see Kira and her boyfriend running down the halls with him half-naked!”
“I think you have...why else would you be here?” Anakin asked.
Main hold Sabe sighed and sat down in her room. “Total chaos,” she muttered as she shook her head.
Obi-Wan looked innocently at Jesse. “Boredom?” he replied with a smirk. He followed her to where Kira and Jango were and he started laughing. “If Kayla was here she would be having a field day,” he quipped.
Jesse shrugged, and glanced at Chris. “From what I’m guessing, Kira dumped ice water on him while he was sleeping in the main guest cabin. Then he decided to be stupid and throw his wet shirt at her.” She thought for a moment, and chuckled. “It’ll probably be a while before he gets his shirt back,” she added, grinning.
Storage area Kira grinned as she sat on a nearby bench, swinging her legs back and forth in a casual fashion. She suddenly glanced up as Jango came into the room. “Having fun yet?” she asked innocently.
Jango glared at her playfully. “Not even going to answer that. Now give me my shirt back,” he replied, extending his hand out. “Besides; no need to start rumors on board,” he added, an impish grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“You’re no fun,” Kira grumbled, as she threw Jango’s shirt back at him.
He chuckled softly as he caught it in mid air. “Really?” Jango mused. A wicked gleam suddenly appeared in his eyes. “And I’d be careful in the near future if I were you. I’ll be getting my revenge, gorgeous. Even if it means getting Kayla involved,” he added slyly.
She blinked. Then blinked again. “You’re a jerk, you know that?” she asked, finally standing up.
Jango chuckled again as he took a step towards her. “Isn’t that why you love me?” he replied, gently wrapping his arms around her waist.
She glared at him as she gently rested her hands on his shoulders. “No comment,” Kira quipped, before pulling herself out of his embrace. “Now go get changed. Like you said before, no need to start rumors on board,” she mused, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Fine. Have it your way, then,” Jango replied, wandering out of the storage room and towards the main guest cabin again.
Kira rolled her eyes as she wandered back down to the main hold. “Men,” she muttered to herself.
Chris snorted. “Yeah...guess not. What happened with you? Maybe it was my imagination, but I thought I heard you yelling right before they went on their little adventure,” he said, looking right at Jesse.
Qui-Gon chuckled softly. “I can see there’s no fooling you, Anakin...you mustn’t let anyone know about us...we’re on our way to Coruscant, the central system in the Republic, on a very important mission, and it must be kept secret,” he replied.
Main hold Jesse thought for a moment. “No actually. That was Jay screaming,” Jesse replied, giving a soft laugh.
Kira grinned wickedly as she sat down beside Jesse. “That was fun. And so worth it,” she mused, resting her hands behind her head.
“Crazed woman,” Jango muttered, as he finally came out into the main hold while rolling up the sleeves of his secondary flight suit. He thought for a moment, then finally sat down beside Kira, gently wrapping his right arm around her waist in the process.
Anakin gapped. “Coruscant...wow...how did you end up here in the outer rim?”
“Our ship was damaged, and we’re stranded here until we can repair it,” Kayla replied.
“I can help! I can fix anything!” Anakin said.
Main hold Obi-Wan sighed and shook his head. “One hell of a damn day,” he muttered.
Chris just shook his head. “Looks like everything’s okay here...I need to get back to guarding the Queen,” he told them all, turning to leave. He went back to Sabe’s quarters.
“Everything’s okay, my Queen, just got a little crazy out there for a second,” Chris informed her.

Chapter 20
Ifbo slowly trudged through the harsh sandstorm. It had been getting stronger and stronger but it seemed to be letting up a little bit. The vendor, Jira, had been all too easily “persuaded” into telling Ifbo where the “Jedi” had gone. She told Ifbo that she had seen an odd man traveling with a Gungan, a girl, an astromech and a local slave boy by the name of Anakin. She then pointed Ifbo in the direction of the Slave commons.
Ifbo trudged through the slave commons until he came upon the apartment owned by the slave boy and his mother. He walked around the back until he stumbled over a Podracer.
“This looks like a good spot...”
Ifbo crawled under the tarp covering the Podracer and then climbed into the driver’s seat to wait.
Cameron smiled slightly as she exited the ship. She turned her attention towards the small town of Mos Espa, and started walking towards it. Her attire consisted of black pants, a white tank top, and a black leather jacket that was currently slung over her left arm. She continued walking, the sandstorm being no concern to her, though it seemed that the current storm was beginning to ease off a bit, but nonetheless, she made her way into Mos Espa twenty-five minutes later. She tilted her head to the side by half an inch. Her optical sensors constantly bringing in data. Cameron turned her attention towards a small apartment and walked up to it. She stared at the door before gently knocking.
Skywalker apartment, Mos Espa Qui-Gon chuckled at that. “I believe you can, but our first job is to acquire the parts we need...” He trailed off, and glanced at the door as he heard a knock. “Seems that we have company,” he mused.
Obi-Wan sighed. “I don’t like where this is going.
Skywalker apartment, Mos Espa Jar Jar added, “Wit no-nutten mula to trade.”
“These junk dealers must have a weakness of some kind,” Kayla said.
Shmi looked at the group at the table. “Gambling. Everything here revolves around betting on those awful races.” Then, she heard the door knock. “Hmm, I wonder who that could be...perhaps more people seeking shelter. I will be right back,” she said, smiling at her son and the others.
Shmi approached the door, and opened it. She saw Cameron, a young girl, standing there. “Hello there.”
“Hello,” Cameron replied, giving another small smile.

She tilted her head slightly, and spoke again. “May I come in?” she asked, putting her jacket on in the process.
Qui-Gon thought for a moment. “Podracing...greed can be a powerful ally…if it’s used properly,” he said, before turning his attention towards Cameron. “Is everything alright back at the ship, Cameron?” he asked, glancing at the young woman.
“Everything’s fine,” Cameron replied calmly. She brushed a loose strand of hair behind her ear, her eyes focusing in on the inside of the apartment, taking in every detail.
“I’ve built a racer! It’s the fastest ever...There’s a big race tomorrow, on Boonta Eve. You could enter my pod. It’s all but finished...” Anakin said.
Kayla looked across the room over to Shmi. “It’s okay to let her in,” she said with a smile. “She’s with us.”
“Oh, good, you may certainly come in then. It seems you all have been travelling in a large group,” Shmi said with a chuckle, leading Cameron inside and to the kitchen. She then looked to Anakin at his mention of him podracing. “Anakin, settle down. Watto won’t let you...”
Anakin looked at his mother and said, “Watto doesn’t know I’ve built it.” Anakin quickly glanced at Qui-Gon. “You could make him think it’s yours, and you could get him to let me pilot it for you.”
He glanced at Cameron and asked, “Do you guys always travel in packs?”
Kayla couldn’t help but snicker when Anakin asked that.
Cameron tilted her head slightly, her gaze shifting towards the boy.”Sometimes,” she replied, pausing for a brief moment. “But most times no. In regards to me anyways,” she said, gently pushing up the sleeves of her jacket, allowing the staples in her left forearm to be visible for a brief second.
Qui-Gon frowned slightly as he glanced over towards Shmi, then back at Cameron. “Has your friend come back yet?” he asked, lacing his fingers together in a casual fashion.
She smiled slightly. “Yes,” Cameron replied. “But he’s no longer a threat. I made sure of that,” she added, the fingers of her left hand twitching slightly.
Shmi glanced to Cameron and Qui-Gon, not quite sure what they were speaking of, but then looked to Anakin, more concerned for him at the moment. “I don’t want you to race, Ani...it’s awful. I die every time Watto makes you do it.”
Kayla looked at Cameron and raised an eyebrow and shook her head. “He better be gone,” she muttered.
Anakin looked back at his mother. “But Mom, I love it...and they need help...they’re in trouble. The prize money would more than pay for the parts they need.”
Cameron smiled again. “He is,” she said, finally taking off her jacket, leaving her in a white tank top. She thought for a moment, then hung her jacket on her chair. “I took the necessary precautions,” she added.
“Your mother’s right,” Qui-Gon said, glancing at Anakin, before turning towards Shmi. “Is there anyone friendly to the Republic who might be able to help us?” he asked.
Shmi shook her head no.
Anakin looked at his mother and said, “We have to help them, Mom...you said that the biggest problem in the universe is no one helps each other.”
Anakin glanced at Cameron and noticed the notices the staples running along Cameron’s wrists and down her forearm and across the crook of her elbow. “You’re not human, are you?” he asked Cameron.
Cameron tilted her head to the side, glancing at Anakin in the process. “Why do you say that?” she asked, casually flipping her left arm over so that her forearm was no longer visible. She thought for a moment, then smiled. “Perhaps I am human,” she added.
Qui-Gon gave her a worried look. Is this the wisest course of action? he thought to himself.
Shmi listened to what Cameron was saying, but her mind remained on what Anakin had said about the racing. “Anakin, don’t...” she began.
Jar Jar belched. There was silence for a moment as they eat.
“I’m sure Qui-Gon doesn’t want to put your son in danger. We will find another way,” Kayla said.
Anakin looked at Cameron and said, “I’ve never seen a human have staples for stitches.” He smirked wickedly.
Cameron shrugged slightly. “It’s all that was available at the time,” she replied calmly. “Otherwise, there is no proof that I’m not human,” she added, a small smile grazing her lips.
Qui-Gon sighed and shook his head. “This should prove to be interesting,” he muttered under his breath, before glancing up at Cameron.”You never cease to amaze me,” he added, giving a bit of a chuckle.
Cameron smiled again. “Thank you,” she replied, her left hand twitching slightly again.
“No, Ani’s right,” Shmi replied, glancing from Cameron back to the others. “There is no other way. I may not like it, but...he can help you. He was meant to help you.”
Anakin smiled when his mother gave in. He looked at Cameron. “Oh really?” he asked with a raised eyebrow. Well we’ll see about that.” Anakin left the room to get R2 and 3-PO. R2 scanned Cameron and beeped. Anakin looked at 3-PO. “Say something in Huttese 3-PO,” he said.
Kayla raised an eyebrow and knew that this was going to be very interesting.
“Bi tigh cic C-3PO ajinaw qola,” Threepio stated, saying his usual greeting in Huttese. (“Hello, I am C-3PO, Human Cyborg Relations.”) “Was that alright, Master Anakin?” Threepio asked.
Cameron shrugged slightly, as she finally replied in the same dialect as Threepio. “Bi tigh cic Cameron.” She paused for a moment, then glanced over at Anakin. “Just because someone knows a certain language or knows a certain number of languages, doesn’t mean that they’re not human,” she added, giving a small smile.
Qui-Gon chuckled as he watched the scene play out before him.
Kayla snickered again.
Anakin looked at 3-PO and said, “That’s good 3-PO.” He thought for a moment and smirked. “Well I still think you’re not a 100% human,” he said with great indignity.
The storm continued to rage outside the slave hovel.

Chapter 21
Mosa Espa Junk Dealer Plaze the storm had passed. Vendors and street people cleaned up the mess and rebuilt their food stalls. Jar Jar sat on a box in front of Watto’s parts shop, watching all the activity with growing nervousness. Artoo was standing next to him. Kayla stopped Qui-Gon as he is about to enter the shop.
“Are you sure about this? Trusting our fate to a boy we hardly know,” Kayla asked. “The boy does have something special.”
Qui-Gon shrugged. “The Queen doesn’t need to know,” he replied, walking into the shop.
Cameron tilts her head as she watches Watto and Anakin argue. Her CPU constantly ran and brought in data. She pondered for a moment, quietly listening to what the two are saying.
“Patta go bollai!” Watto snarled, glancing at the boy.
“No batta!”Anakin said.
Kayla sighed and said, “This is going to take a bit.”
“Pedunky. Maa kee cheelya!” he replied heatedly, crossing his arms over his chest in the process.
Cameron stared at the Toydarian as her CPU continued to bring in data.
IDENTIFICATION_WATTO THREAT LEVEL_6.9 REACTION_MEDIUM OBJECTIVE_INTIMIDATE
She stepped forward so that she was in front of Watto. She stared at him for one point two seconds before speaking in Huttese. “You really shouldn’t speak to him like that,” she said, her face completely blank. “And I don’t care if your his master.”
Watto glared at the girl. Who was she to tell him how to treat or talk to his slaves?! And in Huttese, no less. Stupid girl. She’d get what she’d deserve. “Watch your tongue girl! Or wise you may find yourself facing against the Hutts!” he snarled back.
Cameron tilted her head to the side slightly for a brief moment before taking another step towards him. “I’m not someone who you should threaten. Both you and the Hutts, and any of their guards are no match for me,” she replied, her left hand twitching again.
Watto snorted in amusement. This puny girl? A threat to him and the Hutts? That was completely laughable. He glanced back and sneered at Cameron. “Stupid outlander. Don’t get involved with things you don’t understand,” he replied, glaring at her.
Cameron smiled slightly as she quickly grabbed Watto by the throat. ”I’m not,” she replied, pausing for a split second. “Just voicing my opinions. Thank you for explaining, though,” She added.
Watto choked as his hands scrambled uselessly over Cameron’s iron grip. “Stupid girl! Let...Me...GO!”
Cameron gave another small smile as she released her hand from Watto’s neck. “Fine. Just watch your tone of voice next time,” she replied, switching back to basic.
“Bayno, Baynoi!” Anakin said.
Anakin watched in amazement as Cameron choked Watto. I knew it, Anakin thought. After Cameron put Anakin down, he leaned over to whisper in her ear. “Relax I’m use to the way he talks to me,” he whispered with a smile that showed he appreciated her threatening Watto.
Kayla watched what Cameron did and she cleared her throat and whispered to Qui-Gon.
“I’ll take Tin Miss outside and wait for you guys to finish up here,” she said.
She turned to Cameron. “Come on Cam,” she said. “How about we wait go wait outside while these two finish up here.” Then she whispered softly. “We can keep a lookout too.” She headed out the door. “If Watto agrees to sponsor him in the race we’ll need a backup plan in case things don’t go our way. The scum that participate in these races cheat.” She began to form a plan in her mind and a wicked smile formed on her lips.
Watto glared as he turned his attention towards Qui-Gon. “The boy tells me you want to sponsor him in the race. You can’t afford parts. How can you do this? Not on Republic credits, I think.” He grinned wickedly, then laughed.
“My ship will be the entry fee,” Qui-Gon said, while pulling a small object that looks like a watch out of his pocket, and a hologram of the Naboo spacecraft appears about a foot long in front of Watto. He studied it.
He smirked slightly. “It’s in good order, except for the parts I need,” Qui-Gon replied.
Watto thought for a moment, then scowled. “But what would the boy ride? He smashed up my Pod in the last race. It will take some time to fix it,” he said, glancing at Anakin.
Cameron tilted her head as she glanced at Kayla. “I’d prefer to stay here,” she replied, sending a brief glance towards Watto, causing the blue Toydarian to shrink back ever so slightly, before turning to attention towards Anakin. She smiled. “Thank you for explaining,” she said softly, her eyes flashing blue for a split second before turning back to their normal hazel brown.
Anakin was embarrassed and stepped forward. “Ahhhh....it wasn’t my fault really...Sebulba flashed me with his vent ports. I actually saved the Pod...mostly,” Anakin said.
Kayla cursed under her breath and said, “Fine just don’t strangle anyone.”
Watto chuckled. “That you did. The boy is good, no doubts there,” he replied honestly.
“I have...acquired a Pod in a game of chance. ‘The fastest ever built’,” Qui-Gon stated, smirking slightly, while crossing his arms over his chest.
Watto sneered at him. “I hope you didn’t kill anyone I know for it.” He thought for a moment, then laughed. “So, you supply the Pod and the entry fee; I supply the boy. We split the winnings fifty-fifty, I think,” he added, grinning greedily.
“Fifty-fifty!?! If it’s going to be fifty-fifty, I suggest you front the cash for the entry. If we win, you keep all the winnings, minus the cost of the parts I need...If we lose, you keep my ship,” Qui-Gon said simply, earning a pointed look from Cameron. He smiled slightly as Watto pondered the idea. “Either way, you win,” he added.
Watto grinned even more as he slapped Qui-Gon’s hand. The deal is sealed. “Deal!” he replied, before turning to Anakin. “Yo bana pee ho-tah, meedee ya,”he said, giving a short laugh.
Anakin noticed Cameron’s eyes lit up blue and he smirked at Kayla and said, “I know she’s not human.”
Kayla snickered and said, “You catch on quick.”
Naboo Spacecraft Tatooine Desert Obi-Wan stood outside the Naboo spacecraft, speaking into his comlink. Qui-Gon was on the back porch of the hovel.
“What if this plan fails, Master? We could be stuck here for a long time,” Obi-Wan asked.
Qui-Gon sighed and shook his head. “A ship without a power supply will not get us anywhere, and there is something about this boy,” he mused, before clicking his comm link off.
Qui-Gon put the comlink away as Shmi came onto the porch
Kayla, Anakin, Jar Jar, and Artoo work on the engines of the Podracer in the courtyard below.
Qui-Gon smiled slightly as he glanced back at Shmi. “You should be proud of your son. He gives without any thought of reward,” he said.
Mos Espa streets Cameron glanced about the area as she walked along the crowded streets. She paused on occasion to look at some small kiosks with parts or other items that may be of value. She tilted her head slightly as a particular kiosk caught her eye. She walked over and picked something up. She finally glanced up at the owner. “How much for this?” she asked.
The alien shrugs. “One thousand credits,” he replied. “And no bargaining!” he added with a sneer.
Cameron tilted her head again, half an inch to the right. She stared at him for a split second, then finally spoke. “Here’s my offer. You give me this and I’ll let you keep your neck intact,” she replied calmly, pulling out her 9MM and pointing it at the owner.
He paled slightly and swallowed. “I..I..F-fine. T-t-t-take it!” he stuttered. “Just get out of here!” he added, panicking.
Cameron smiled and nodded, slowly pointing her gun down to the ground. “One question...” She trailed off for a moment.
“What? What do you want to know?!”
“Where did you get this?” she asked, glancing back down at the item in her hands.
The alien shrugged. “Just some space pilot who found it in a ship wreckage,” he replied, a little calmer now.
Cameron smiled again as she quickly raised her silenced 9MM and shot the owner in the head. “Thank you for explaining,” she said, walking away with the item in one hand, and her 9MM in the other. After a few minutes, she put her gun back into its holster on her leg and made her way over towards the others. She stared at the item again, three small lighted dots glaring back at her.

Chapter 22
Shmi smiled as she watched her son, and nodded. “He knows nothing of greed. He has...” she trailed off.
Qui-Gon smiled slightly. “He has special powers,” he finished.
Cameron sat down on a bench near the Podracer that Anakin was working on. She paused for a moment as her CPU began scanning...
PRELIMINARY SCAN IN PROGRESS.................SCAN COMPLETE. MATCH FOUND ITEM IDENTIFICATION_ TURK,THE AUTHENTICITY_GENUINE OBJECTIVE_PROTECT AT ALL COSTS MISSION MUST NOT FAIL
Cameron thought for a moment, before pulling out a comm link that the Queen had given her. “Cameron to Commander Chris. Do you read?” she asked.
Chris had been with Sabe for a long while, guarding her like usual, and had continued to ponder over everything that had happened...they also hadn’t received much updates from the Jedi and co. in Mos Espa, probably due to that storm.
However, as if on cue, his comlink buzzed, and he activated it, hearing Cameron’s voice.
“Commander Chris here. What do you need, Cameron?” he asked.
Cameron pondered for a split second, then spoke. “I’ve found something in one of the local junk kiosks. Something vital,” she replied, glancing back down at the item in her lap. “It’s called ‘The Turk.’ Jesse knows what it is,” she added, switching off her comlink before Chris could reply.
“....It’s called ‘The Turk. Jesse knows what it is.”
Jesse’s mouth opened slightly, then snapped shut a second later. Her blood ran cold, ice cold as she overheard Cameron’s last sentence before she ended her comm with Chris.
Why…Why...WHY WHY WHY WHY?! Why is it here?! she thought to herself frantically, leaning against the door frame. “The Turk?! Please tell me you’re joking,” she said, shaking her head in dismay.
Chris swerved around to see Jesse standing there, and gave her a look of confusion. He turned to Sabe. “I’ll be back, Queen Amidala...Jesse and I need to discuss something.” he told her with a bow.
He then motioned for Jesse to follow him down the halls. “What’s ‘The Turk’?” he asked.
She gave an amused snort as she walked alongside Chris. “It’s a computer program and right now, it plays a mean game of chess. But in a few years, it’s going to get really pissed off and blow up the world,” Jesse retorted. “In other words, Skynet is what ‘The Turk’ becomes,” she added darkly. “As long as Tin Miss keeps ‘The Turk’ in her possession, we’ll be alright...but if anyone gets a hold of it and realizes what it’s capable of...” She trailed off, a cold shiver going down her spine. “It’ll be J-Day all over again.”
“Wait a minute,” Chris said, something finally clicking in his brain. It was out there, but he was starting to understand better. “So Skynet exists in the future? Is this why no one’s really heard of it yet, except for the people on this ship?”
“Yep,” Jesse said, glancing at Chris. “It’s just a matter of time before the Turk becomes self-aware and gets pissed off at the human race.” She sighed and shook her head again. “J-Day and the war against Skynet are all in my past, but…damn I hate time travel. It completely screws with the mind,” she quipped, giving a small chuckle. “As I said before, as long as The Turk stays with Tin Miss, it won’t have the opportunity to grow and develop its programming,” she added.
“So you’re from the future? Damn, people on this ship never cease to amaze me...Jedi, Terminators, people from another timeline, royalty. Wow...but it looks like you may be staying back here, in the past or present or whatever this is, if you want to keep Skynet from being born. Am I right?” Chris inquired curiously.
“Pretty much,” Jesse replied, before thinking for a moment. “And I’m also pretty sure that’s why Tin Miss was sent back as well,” she mused. “I swear, if there’s any kind of HK prototype’s already made,” she snarled, clenching her left hand into a fist.
Chris raised an eyebrow. “HK prototype? Wait, maybe I shouldn’t ask...hopefully, if Cameron has The Turk, then it’ll all be okay, and we won’t have to worry about any of these things.” he said, hoping that would be the case.
Jesse laughed again. “Trust me, you don’t want to know what kinds of weapons Skynet creates to destroy the human race,” she said darkly. “And I wasn’t exaggerating when I said that three billion people were killed on J-Day,” she added quietly. “They bombed us, nuked us, then finally sent metal after us.”
Chris nodded solemnly. “At least we’ve got one on our side,” he said, in reference to Cameron. “Let’s just hope she doesn’t go bad again...but hopefully, we can prevent that from happening, and everything will be okay.”
Sabe poked her head out of the room and asked, “Is it safe to come out or shall I round up the Calvary?”
Podracer scene Kayla continued working on the Podracer.
Anakin kept working as well.
Chris smirked at Sabe. “It’s fine, my Queen, we were just discussing something small that hopefully won’t grow any bigger...it’s okay for now,” he assured her.
Sabe sighed with relief. “Good,” she said. “Tell me what you lot were discussing now.”
Chris glanced to Jesse, then back to Sabe. He knew it was best if everyone, at least on this ship, knew. “Cameron has found an item that may unleash Skynet if put in the wrong hands...the faction that Cameron comes from. The Terminators, basically...Jesse and Cameron are trying to keep hold of it so that doesn’t happen. It’s called The Turk,” he replied.
Sabe listened as Chris spoke. “I see,” she said.
Mos Espa Slave Quarter backyard Kitster, a young boy about Anakin’s age, Seek, a boy of ten, Amee, a girl of six, Greedo, age six years old joined Anakin, Jar Jar, Artoo, and Kayla securing some wiring.
“Kayla and Jar Jar, this is my friend Kitster, and Seek, Amee, and Wald,” Anakin said.
All whistle, hoot, and speak a greeting.
“Wow, a real Astro Droid...how’d you get so lucky?” Kitster asked.
“This isn’t the half of it. I’m entered in the Boonta Race tomorrow!” Anakin said.
“What? With this??” Kitser asked in disbelief.
Wald laughed. “Ani Jesko na joka.” (“Ani, you are such as joker.”)
“You’ve been working on that thing for years. It’s never going to run,” Amee said.
“Come on, let’s go play ball. Keep it up, Ani, and you’re gonna be bug squash,” Seek said.
Seek, Wald, and Amee take off, laughing. Jar Jar was fiddling with one of the energy binder plates.
“Hey! Jar Jar! Stay away from those energy binders,”Anakin said.
“Who, mesa?” Jar Jar asked.
“If your hand gets caught in that beam, it will go numb for hours,” Anakin said.
Jar Jar peeked at the energy plate; it makes a little electronic pop, zapped him in the mouth and jumped back. Jar Jar tried to say something, but his mouth was numb and his words were jumbled.
“Ouch-dats muy bigo Oucho,” Jar Jar said in gibberish
Kayla growled and took the electro screwdriver from Jar Jar and said, “You go sit over there away from the tools before you fry your brain cells out now.”
Jar Jar nodded and headed toward the house.
“But you don’t even know if this thing will run,” Kitster said.
“It will,” Anakin said.
Shmi looked at Qui-Gon. “Yes,” she said slowly.
Qui-Gon smiled slightly. “He can see things before they happen. That’s why he appears to have such quick reflexes. It is a Jedi trait,” he explained.
Cameron watched silently as Anakin, Kayla and Jar Jar worked on the pod racer. Her CPU continuously scanning and bringing in data. She smiles slightly, then turns her attention back towards the Turk. She turned it over in her hands, her optical sensors taking in every single piece of information on the future computer program that would be responsible for creating her. She paused for a moment, then pulled something out of her pocket. Cameron tilted her head slightly as she stared at the chip. Her CPU accessing a certain memory file.
ACCESSING FILE #184732..............FILE ACCESSED// Cameron is standing behind John Connor as he begins looking at all the information on Vick’s chip.
John blinks, still looking at the information on his laptop. “Wow, what a mess. How the hell do you keep your brain organized?”
“Not like yours,” Cameron replies.
John snorts in amusement. “No kidding.” ...END FILE//
She pondered for two point three seconds before putting the chip back into her pocket. She then turned her attention back towards the group working in front of her.
Shmi frowned, watching her son. “He deserves better than a slave’s life,” she commented.
Anakin looked at Cameron and asked, “What are you?”
Kayla looked at Cameron and waited for her to answer.
Qui-Gon pondered for a moment. “The Force is unusually strong with him, that much is clear. Who was his father?” he asked, glancing over at Shmi.
Cameron tilted her head to the side as she glanced at Anakin. “A Hyper-alloy combat chassis.” She pondered for a moment. “Cybernetic organism. Living tissue over a metal endoskeleton,” she added. “We’re also called ‘Terminators’,” she clarified, turning her attention towards Kayla. “We need to keep this safe,” she said, glancing down at The Turk. “At all costs. If our enemies get their hands on it, it may change the outcome of this war,” she added, her face completely void of any emotion. “The Turk must stay safe. Even if it means sacrificing the Queen to the Federation to do so,” she added seriously.
Kayla looked at Cameron and asked, “What the hell is The Turk and why do we have to sacrifice the Queen for it?”
Anakin listened to the conversation with great interest.
“Skynet,” Cameron replied, glancing up at Kayla. “It’s Skynet in primitive form and if the Federation or anyone else were to get their hands on it, the fate of the galaxy will be changed,” she added, tilting her head to the side. “And Skynet will be born again. That’s one of two reasons why I was sent here,” she clarified.
Kayla growled and said, “Great. Just what we need more goddamn trouble.”
Anakin remains quiet.
“Tell no one else. When it comes to The Turk, no one is to be trusted.” Cameron stared at Kayla and stood up. “Do I make myself clear?” she asked calmly, her eyes flashing red for a split second before turning back to their normal hazel brown. “I will be enforcing the same rule with Commander Chris and Jesse,” she added. “If I find out you’ve told someone else, without informing me first, I’ll kill you.”
Kayla blinked at Cameron and gave her look that said how dare you threaten me you bucket of bolts. “As if I’d tell anyone,” she huffed. “Although Qui-Gon needs to know though.”
Shmi looked to Qui-Gon, knowing she was about to give a strange explanation, even to a Jedi Knight. “There was no father that I know of...I carried him, I gave him birth...I can’t explain what happened. Can you help him?”
Qui-Gon sighed and shook his head. “I’m afraid not. Had he been born in the Republic, we would have identified him early, and he would have become Jedi, no doubt...he has the way. But it’s too late for him now, he’s too old,” Qui-Gon replied.
Cameron stared back unfazed by the look Kayla was giving her. “No he doesn’t,” she replied. “He’d only report it to his superiors.” She glanced back at The Turk and gently wrapped her jacket around it. “The less people know about The Turk and Skynet, the better.” She paused and turned back to Kayla. “I don’t think you understand how Skynet works, how we work.” Cameron tilted her head to the side as she continued. “Skynet’s primary function is to destroy the human race and anyone who is stupid enough to get in the way…” She trailed off for a moment, then spoke again. “The galaxy would be thrown into chaos, the Republic would be destroyed. Skynet’s very efficient in killing.” She paused for a moment, then spoke again. “That’s why I shot the owner of the kiosk I got this from in the head.”
Qui-Gon smiled slightly as he made his way down towards Anakin and the others. “I think it’s time we found out. Use this power charge,” he said, handing Anakin a spare power charge.
“Yes, sir!!” Anakin said.
Anakin jumped into the little capsule behind the two giant engines. He puts the power pack back into the dashboard. Everyone backed away, except for Jar Jar who called for help. Finally Kayla frees him and the engines ignite with a ROAR. Everyone cheered.
“It’s working!” Anakin shouted.
Kayla shook her head and said, “So as long as Skynet doesn’t get their hands on that then we should be fine?” Kayla looked at Cameron. “We need to find someplace to keep that until after the race. We can’t afford anyone to get their hands on that. I would advise taking it to the ship, but that’s your choice.”
Kayla then gritted her teeth and said, “You shot the owner? Great. I hope you covered your tracks Tin Miss.”
Shmi, watching as everyone cheered and talked from the porch, smiled sadly.
Cameron gave a curt nod. “Yes,” she replied, as her CPU accessed another memory file.
ACCESSING MEMORY FILE...........FILE ACCESSED// Cameron is shutting the trunk of a silver car as a young man named Morris hurries over to her.
“Cameron! Hey Cameron…Wow, is that your car?” he asked.
Cameron stares at him calmly. “No. It belongs to the guy I killed and stuffed in the trunk.” ............END FILE//
She glanced back and watched as the Podracer roared to life and tilted her head slightly. Finally, she turned back to Kayla. “I’m going to head back to the ship. There’s things I need to do,” she replied, gathering up her jacket and The Turk.
Kayla nodded and watched Cameron leave.
Slave Quarters Balcony Anakin sat on the balcony rail of his hovel as Qui-Gon tended to a cut. The boy leans back to look at the vast blanket of stars in the sky.
Qui-Gon chuckled as he glanced at Anakin. “Hold still Ani, let me clean this cut,” he said, tending to a small gash on Anakin’s arm.
Naboo Cruiser Jesse scowled as she watched Cameron walk up the loading ramp. “Tell me that you’re kidding about finding...” She trailed off, not even wanting to say it.
“I’m not kidding,” Cameron replied, as she walked towards the storage area, The Turk safely hidden away underneath her jacket.
Jesse shut her eyes and sighed. “Great. So what now?” she asked.
“We wait. And keep it well hidden and protected. Skynet cannot be allowed to come back.” She paused for a moment, then looked at Jesse. “Do not tell anyone about The Turk. The less people know, the better,” she added.” I’ll be telling Commander Chris the same thing.”
Jesse gave a curt nod. “Fine. It’s not like I want to talk about that anyways,” she grumbled, heading back into the main hold.
Chris heard people walking around in the Main Hold, and looked to Sabe. “Queen Amidala, I’ll be right back...need to go see who just arrived.” he said, though he suspected it was Cameron.
Sure enough, as he walked outside to make sure all was well, he saw Cameron in the main hold.
“There are so many! Do they all have a system of planets?” Anakin asked as he looked at the stars.
Kayla was in the hovel sleeping on the couch.

Chapter 23
Naboo Cruiser Obi-Wan entered the room and asked, “What’s going on?”
Jesse shook her head. “Nothing that you need to worry about,” she replied, sitting down on a bench across from Kira and Jango.
Jango raised an eyebrow. “Really? So what was Cameron hiding underneath her jacket? Nothing as well?” he asked, staring pointedly at Jesse.
“Yes. It was nothing,” Cameron said, walking into the main hold. She glanced over at Chris. “Do not tell anyone about what we discussed over the comlink,” she said, before turning her attention towards Jesse. “We have things to discuss in the storage area,” she replied, walking out of the main hold before anyone else could question her.
Jesse sighed as she stood up and followed Cameron. “Lead the way, Tin Miss,” she grumbled.
“So what was that all about?” Jango asked, glancing over at Chris. “Care to let us in on what the kark is going on?” he added seriously.
“Unfortunately, don’t think I can...not after what she just said. I did tell the Queen, though, but it should be okay and she may need to know if it ever grows into something more...otherwise, if she says no one else should know, they shouldn’t,” Chris explained to Jango, with a shrug.
Obi-Wan looked at Jango and Kira and said, “I don’t think they are going to tell us. We may be able get information out of Kayla when she comes back.”
“I doubt it. Cameron probably told Kayla the same thing,” Kira replied, gently leaning against Jango.
Storage area Jesse shut the door, then finally turned towards Cameron. “Alright, talk,” she said, crossing her arms over her chest.
“We need to be prepared for the worst,” she replied. “Skynet’s still a very real threat, now that The Turk has been found.” She paused for a moment, then pulled out Carter’s chip. “I’m going to see if I can get any information out of it.”
Jesse blanched. “I thought you said that you burned everything! Especially the chip! What the hell is wrong with you?!!?” she asked, clenching her hands into fists.
Cameron stood and stared at Jesse, unfazed. “We need the information on the chip,” she replied calmly, putting said chip back into her pocket. “We need to see if Skynet’s already starting to form. Blue prints for HK prototypes, Harvesters, transports, 800-series. Most infiltrator units carry these blue prints,” Cameron replied.
Jesse blinked. “Is that why there’s very few infiltrator units in commission?” she asked.
“Yes. In 2027, there were only ten infiltrator units created in Skynet central.” Cameron tilted her head as she pondered on something. “The shop owner. He said that a space pilot found The Turk in an abandoned ship wreckage,” she said.
Jesse blinked. “So someone could have already been experimenting with The Turk?” she asked, not really wanting to know the answer.
“It’s possible. Then again, they may have not been able to figure anything out. Or they could have been using The Turk for something different,” Cameron suggested.
“Great,” Jesse said, rolling her eyes. “I’d better get back to the main hold, before the others start to get paranoid,” she muttered, opening the door and walking out.
Obi-Wan nodded his head when Kira said that. “Maybe,” he agreed.
Flash!
The year is 2027, Earth is about 90% burned though a few pocket of Human Resistance groups still exist, fighting for their lives, their species, against the computer programming called Skynet. The war against the machines.
Flash!
Jesse Solo ran across the barren ground, gripping her plasma rifle tight in her hands. “Shit! We’ve got an HK on our asses! Fall back. I repeat, fall back!” she yelled frantically into her radio. She glanced over her shoulder, a monstrous ship hovering over the boarders of one many Human Resistance territories. Two beams of light crisscross each other as the AI controlled Hunter Killer continued to search for human prey. Its sensors sweeping every single millimeter of the ground, its infra red scanners working continuously to pick up heat signatures.
Flash!
Sweat trickled down the back of a young human male’s neck as he peeked out from behind a large piece of debris. “Damned metal,” he muttered. Suddenly, he stiffened, then slowly turned around, only to see a massive six foot two endoskeleton staring down at him. A T-888 Terminator. The man screamed as the 888 grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him off the ground. Red eyes flash momentarily before the 888 violently snapped the young man’s neck and threw his body off to the side as if it were a rag doll. The cyborg didn’t even spare a glance as it walked away, to find its next victim....
Flash!
Jesse gritted her teeth as she pressed her back against the wall, her plasma rifle raised and ready to fire. She darted out into the next room, only to see not one, not two, but THREE T-888’s staring back at her.
“Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. SHIT!” she swore, raising her plasma rifle and firing at the nearest 888. “Go rot in hell!” she screamed, as the plasma bolts bounced harmlessly off the 888’s endoskeleton. She began to step backwards slowly, as all three Terminators began to advance on her. Sweat trickled down the back of her neck as she finally backed up into the wall. “God, where are you when I need you?” she whispered quietly, as her world faded to black....
Flash!
She groaned as she finally came to. Glancing around, she took in her surroundings. She’s in a laboratory, strapped to a bio bed. “What the...” Jesse blinked as she glanced to her left, her hatred bubbling up into her veins. A Grey, and not just any Grey, Charles Fischer. “Traitor,” she spat, struggling against the leather straps holding her down. She heard him chuckle softly, then he spoke, but not to her, to them. She glanced to the right, a window was seen, and three T-888’s watch as Fischer instructed them on how to talk to humans, how to get information out of humans. How to BE human. Jesse shut her eyes as an IV pricked the skin in the crook of her elbow, the substance in it effectively drugging her. This went on for weeks, and weeks. The first infiltrators are born. Born with the knowledge on how to blend in with human beings. Making the infiltrators one of the deadliest kind of Terminator next to the T-1001, or also known as liquid metal.
Flash!
Jesse glanced out the Submarine window, then back at the Captain, Queeg. A reprogrammed T-888. She walked over behind him and leaned forward. “Just tell me one thing, Captain. Why are we 300 miles off course?” she asked. No response. She gave an annoyed sigh and walked back to her station.
Flash!
Jesse stared as the T-1001 taking the form of Goodnow. “What do you want?” she asked.
Goodnow stared back as she finally spoke, “Tell John Connor, the answer is ‘No.’”
Kayla woke up from her vision sitting lightning rod straight. Her heart pounding slightly. What the hell? she pondered. I have got to talk to Jesse.
Kayla got up off the couch and she stepped outside, trying to remain calm but it was not working.
He shrugged slightly. “Most of them,” Qui-Gon replied. He glanced at Kayla and asked, “Something wrong?”
Naboo Cruiser Jesse bit her lower lip as she sat down on the bed in one of the guest rooms. “Damn it all,” she muttered, lying down on her back. She shut her eyes as flashes of her past life began to surface. “Damn it all to hell,” she added, pushing the memories aside.
Kayla nearly jumped out of her boots when Qui-Gon spoke to her and she whirled around, her hair whipping in the wind slightly as she glanced at Qui-Gon. “Nothing’s wrong,” she said quickly. “What makes you think something is wrong?” She smiled a little. She knew she was going to regret fibbing but she didn’t want to risk getting killed over it.
“Has anyone been to them all?” Anakin asked.
Qui-Gon smiled slightly. “Not likely,” he said, before glancing at Kayla. “Considering how pale you are right now, I’d say something is wrong,” he replied.
Naboo Cruiser, guest room Jesse scowled again as she sat up, resting her elbows on her knees, and her chin in her hands. “This is gonna be interesting to say the least…” she mused, closing her eyes again.
“I want to be the first one to see them all... Ouch!” Anakin said.
Qui-Gon wipes a patch of blood off Anakin’s arm.
Kayla made a face and said stubbornly, “I ain’t pale.” She folded her arms across her chest. “Actually I prefer this conversation alone. I had a vision or something of the sort. One that made no damn sense whatsoever.”
Naboo Cruiser-guest room Obi-Wan sighed and just listened.
Shmi looks out from inside the hovel. “Ani, bedtime!” she called.
Qui-Gon smiled again. “There, good as new,” he said, wiping a patch of blood of Anakin’s arm. He thought for a moment, then stood up. “Very well, Kayla. Lead the way,” he said.
Naboo Cruiser, main hold Kira yawned slightly as she curled up against Jango. “God, I could fall asleep right now...” she mused, gently resting her head against his chest, and wrapping her arms around his torso.
He gave her an amused look. “Fine by me,” Jango replied, gently kissing the top of her head. “Gives me more time to think of a way to get my revenge on you for dumping that bucket of water on me,” he added, an impish grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. “And I think I will let Kayla in on the plan,” he mused, grinning now.
Naboo Cruiser, Guest room Jesse thought for a moment, then glanced over at Obi-Wan. “You’re lucky, you know? You’ve never known how close the human race was to extinction...You’ve never seen bombs, nukes, and plasma fire rain down on your home planet…” She trailed off, frowning slightly. “You’ve never thought that God had transported you to a living hell,” she added quietly, more memories surfacing again.
“What are you doing?” Anakin asked.
Kayla looked at Qui-Gon and said, “I said when he is asleep. Too complicated to explain.”
Naboo cruise Obi-Wan listened to Jesse as she spoke. “You’re right,” he said as he moved a little closer. “I can’t imagine what all you’ve been through.”

Chapter 24
Shmi peeked out again after Anakin did not come inside. “Ani! I’m not going to tell you again!” she shouted.
Qui-Gon glanced at the boy. “Checking your blood for infections,” he replied, placing a blood sample on his comlink.
Naboo Cruiser Kira sighed with annoyance. “How do you suppose this is all going to turn out?” Kira asked, glancing up at Jango again.
Jango shrugged slightly. “Don’t know, to be honest.” He thought for a moment, then smirked slightly, pulling Kira in towards him. “We’ll still be together though...no matter what happens. Alright?” he said, kissing the tip of her nose.
Kira smiled again. “I know,” she replied, kissing him lightly on the lips. “I love you. That’s all I’m going to say,” she added quietly.
A small smile tugged at the corner of Jango’s mouth as he kissed her back. “Feeling’s mutual,” he agreed, pulling her in towards his side.
Naboo Cruiser, guest room Jesse sighed. “Trust me, you don’t want to know the details of the war against Skynet,” Jesse replied, glancing at Obi-Wan again. She shook her head, memories of the battles she was in, and the memory of her capture began to resurface once more.
“I’ve never seen…” Anakin said and heard his mother yell again.
Kayla smiled at Anakin and said, “You better get inside. Go on, you have a big day tomorrow.”
Anakin nodded and headed back inside.
Naboo cruiser Obi-Wan rested his hand on Jesse’s shoulder as she spoke. He had no idea about everything she had been through.
Kayla took a deep breath and said, “The vision seemed like it was taking place in the future in the year 2027, Earth is about 90% burned. Though a few pocket of Human Resistance groups still existed, fighting for their lives, their species, against the computer programming called Skynet. The war against the machines. Then I saw Jesse Solo running across the barren ground, gripping her plasma rifle tight in her hands. She was yelling about having an HK on her ass. I saw two beams of light crisscross each other as the AI controlled Hunter Killer continued to search for human prey. Its sensors sweeping every single millimeter of the ground, it’s infra red scanners working continuously to pick up heat signatures. I saw A T-888 terminator. The man screamed as the 888 grabbed him by the neck, and lifts him off the ground. The cyborg didn’t even spare a glance as it walked away, to find its next victim....then I saw Jesse having a hissy fit about one of the Terminators chasing her. Then I saw something like a BE human. Then Jesse glanced out the Submarine window, then back at the Captain, Queeg, a reprogrammed T-888. She walked over behind him and leaned forward. “Just tell me one thing, Captain. Why are we 300 miles off course?” she asked. No response. She gave an annoyed sigh and walked back to her station. Then another flashback Jesse stared as the T-1001 takes the form of Goodnow. “What do you want?” she asked. Goodnow stared back as she finally spoke. “Tell John Connor, the answer is ‘No.’”
Kayla looked at Qui-Gon and waited for an answer.
Qui-Gon blinked as he listened to Kayla. “Interesting,” he mused, thinking things over. “I’d suggest talking to Jesse. See if you can get some more incite in regards to this war between the human race and Skynet,” he added, before turning his attention towards his comlink. “Obi-Wan?”
Naboo Cruiser, guest room Jesse smiled slightly as she sat cross-legged on the bed. She paused for a moment, then gently rolled up her left sleeve of her military uniform, revealing a barcode like tattoo on her forearm. “It’s been a while since I’ve seen that...” she mused, staring at it.
Kayla nodded. “After you talk to Obi-Wan I’ll talk to Jesse.”
Naboo cruise Obi-Wan pulled out his comlink. “Yes Master?” He glanced at the tattoo on Jesse’s arm.
“Make an analysis of this blood sample I’m sending you,” Qui-Gon asked, as he sent said blood sample.
Naboo Cruiser, Main hold Kira yawned slightly and stood up, stretching out her back in the process. She glanced around, and wandered down the hallway of the cruiser, and towards the storage area. “How come you’re still up?” she asked, glancing at Cameron, who was currently sitting at a bench, working on something.
“I don’t sleep,” Cameron replied, as she glanced over at Kira. “I’m a machine, I don’t need it,” she added, turning her attention back towards the laptop like computer in front of her.
She shrugged slightly as she sat down beside the young woman. “What are you working on, anyways?” Kira asked, somewhat curious.
“Thing’s in regard to Skynet,” Cameron replied, turning to look at Kira. “And it would be best if you didn’t ask any more questions. The less people know about this, the better,” she added.
Kira rolled her eyes. “Fine, I won’t ask,” she quipped, crossing her arms over her chest. “Just tell me one thing, is this the last we’re gonna see of this Skynet?” she asked.
Cameron tilted her head to the side. “I don’t know. Thing’s have become complicated,” she said, glancing back to the computer screen, her fingers moving rapidly across the keyboard.
“O-kay....” Kira replied, somewhat confused now. “I’ll leave you to your work now,” she added, standing up.
Cameron didn’t reply as she continued her work.
Kira rolled her eyes again as she left the storage area, and wandered back down to the main hold.
“Wait a minute,” Obi-Wan said. “The reading’s off the chart... over twenty thousand. No one has a count that high not even Master Yoda.”
Kayla pulled out a comlink of her own and said, “Jesse answer this damn thing now. This is important.”
Qui-Gon shook his head. “No Jedi has,” he replied, thinking thing over.
Naboo Cruiser, guest room Jesse rolled her eyes as she pulled out her comlink. “Yeah?” she said, smirking slightly. “What do you want, hon?” she asked, giving her head a bit of a shake.
“What does it mean?” Obi-Wan asked.
Kayla sighed with relief when Jesse answered. “Good you’re awake,” she said. “Now I’ve had a vision or something of the sort and can’t make sense of it. Hopefully you can.” Kayla took a deep breath and said, “The vision seemed like it was taking place in the future in the year 2027, Earth is about 90% burned. Though a few pocket of Human Resistance groups still existed, fighting for their lives, their species, against the computer programming called Skynet. The war against the Machines. Qui-Gon shook his head. “I’m not sure…” he replied glancing up at the door way.
Naboo Cruiser, Guest room Jesse remained quiet for a minute, then swore. “Those are mostly my memories. Why the hell would you have a vision about them!?” she asked, anger bubbling up inside her.
Shmi watched Qui-Gon, but when he noticed her, she became embarrassed, and went back into the kitchen while he pondered the situation.
Kayla shook her head and sighed. She could sense the anger in Jesse. “How the hell should I know?” she asked. “I’m a Jedi and we’re known to have visions but this makes no sense.”
Obi-Wan was listening to the conversation the two seemed to be having. This could be interesting or turn to be downright ugly, he mused.
“Alright, look. I don’t...I don’t care if it was a vision, or whatever the hell it was.” Jesse said, gritting her teeth. “This conversation ends now. Do not ask me again about those memories. I came here to forget about Skynet, not remember what it did,” she added, deactivating the comlink. She shook her head and stood up. “I think some fresh air is in order,” she muttered, walking out of the guest room and towards the main hold.
Kayla cursed under her breath and sighed when the comlink cut off. “Well that didn’t go so well,” she said to Qui-Gon. “I’ll see what Cameron has to say since she done threatened my ass anyway about telling anyone.”
She contacted Cameron onboard the ship and said, “Cameron answer.” She was not going to let the matter drop very easily. She knew that this was not something she could let go lightly.
Naboo Curiser Obi-Wan took a deep breath and looked at Jesse. “You know Kayla isn’t going to let this matter go away,” he said.

Chapter 25
Knowing that the Terminator situation was out of his hands for now, Chris took a seat in a chair, silent and still...his mind was wandering back to Sabe and he still didn’t know what to think.
He didn’t like it that this....whatever it was with her was distracting him so much, but it was. Sabe was a beautiful, kind, courageous woman, and feelings were growing for her, but he wasn’t sure about everything...were these feelings actually true? It had all been such a whirlwind, were they just getting caught in the moment?
And they were co-workers, technically, and were in the middle of a huge conflict. As he had told her, now wasn’t the best time to have some romantic entanglement. There wasn’t anything that said they couldn’t be together, but would the Queen approve? Would Panaka approve? They’d have a lot of other things to do, even after this was over.
If it ever is over...will we even get to go back to Naboo? Queen Amidala seems determined, but I don’t know...will this ever really end?
He had to have faith that it would, as hard as it may seem.
Romance, and love, was a complicated thing, and Chris was only just trying to figure it all out.
Sabe sat down in a chair in her room thinking. Things were starting to get a little out of hand with the homeworld of Naboo being controlled by the Trade Federation. She knew something had to be done but she was not sure exactly what that something was. Her mind began wandering about Chris. Chris was brave, sweet, and about a million other things that came to her mind. Her feelings for Chris ran a little more deeper for him than she was willing to let herself admit.
Love was complicated, but she knew that she wanted and that one person had already wrapped his way around her heart.
Men, she thought with annoyed smirk.
Cameron tilted her head as she answered her comlink. “Yes?” she asked. “Do you need something, Kayla?” she added.
Jesse glanced back at Obi-Wan and shrugged. “Maybe, but that’s all the information she’ll be getting from me,” she replied curtly. “My past is just that. My past. Not anyone else,” she added, crossing her arms in the process.
Kayla sighed with relief when Cameron answered her comlink. “Actually yes I do,” she said. “Let’s see how to explain it. You see I just had a vision of some sort. I told Jesse about it and she said it was about her past and that was it.” Kayla paused for a moment and said, “The vision seemed like it was taking place in the future in the year 2027, Earth is about 90% burned. Its sensors sweeping every single millimeter of the ground, its infra red scanners working continuously to pick up heat signatures. I saw A T-888 terminator. The man screamed as the 888 grabbed him by the neck, and lifted him off the ground. Red eyes flash momentarily before the 888 violently snapped the young man’s neck, and threw his body off to the side as if it were a rag doll. Then another flashback Jesse stared as the T-1001 taking the form of Goodnow. “What do you want?” she asked. Goodnow stared back as she finally spoke. “Tell John Connor, the answer is ‘No’.”” She waited a moment.
“Any idea what that means?” she asked. “It doesn’t make sense for me to be having this vision. Even though Jedi do have visions.”
Obi-Wan looked at Jesse and said, “I think it may be something more.” He paused for a moment and said, “I mean it doesn’t make any sense for her to be having visions of your past.”
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she listened to Kayla. “Flashbacks,” she said, her left hand twitching slightly. “Flashbacks of the war against Skynet.” She paused again, her CPU trying to come up with a possible theory for Kayla’s visions.
“I don’t know why she’s having visions of my past, but...” Jesse trailed off, frowning slightly. “I’m assuming that we’ll get to the bottom of this...” she added reluctantly.
Kayla agreed. “That’s what I’m thinking,” she said. “I’m going back to sleep. I need sleep. We’ve got things to do tomorrow. How about you come and watch the race?”
Obi-Wan looked at Jesse and nodded. “Aye,” he said.
“Yes,” Cameron replied, before turning off her comlink. She turned slightly, grabbing her jacket in the process. Two point one seconds pass before Cameron walked out in the main hold, she turned her attention towards Kira. “The Podrace is tomorrow, we should be there,” she said, putting her jacket on.
Kira sighed as she glanced at Jango, earning a curt nod in reply from him. She turned her attention back toward Cameron, and stood up. “Alright, let’s go,” she said, as her and Jango followed the female cyborg down the loading ramp of the ship.

Chapter 26
Tatooine Desert twilight hour agleam of bright metal caught the last of the fading suns’ rays, and a small transport sped out of the Dune Sea toward Mos Espa. Shovel-nosed and knife-edged, its wings swept back and its verticial stabilizers crimped inward top to bottom. The aft hatchway slid open, metal stairs lowered, and Darth Maul appeared. The Sith Lord has discarded his black robes and wore loose-fitting desert garb, a collared coat belted at the waist, and his lightsaber hung within easy reach. His stunted horns fully exposed now with his hood removed, formed a wicked crown above his strange red-and-black colored face. He looked through his electrobinoculars. He picked out the lights of three different cities in the distance, then pushed buttons on his electronic armband. Six football-sized probe droids floated out of the ship and head off in three different directions toward the cities .Darth Maul stood on the mesa and watched them through his electrobinoculars.
Mos Espa Slave Quarters Kayla exited the hovel of the Skywalker’s porch. As the twin suns rose, Artoo were busy painting the racing Pod. Anakin was asleep. Kayla passed Artoo and walked over toward Anakin. “I hope you’re about finished,” Kayla said.
Artoo whistled a positive reply. Kayla saw Kitster riding toward them on an Eopie, a strange camel-like creature. He was leading a second Eopie behind him. Kayla walked over to Anakin. He looked very vulnerable as he slept. She watched him, then touched him on the cheek. Anakin woke up, yawned, and looked at her, a little puzzled.
“You were in my dream...you were leading a huge army into battle,” Anakin said.
“I hope not. I’m a horrible leader. Your mother wants you to come in and clean up. We have to leave soon,” Kayla said.
Anakin stood up and stretches just as Kitster arrived.
“Hook ‘em up, Kitster,” Anakin said as he looked at Kayla. “I won’t be long. Where’s Qui-Gon?”
“He and Jar Jar left already. They’re with Watto at the arena,” Kayla said.
Mos Epso Arena Main Hanger Race crew mill about outside the main hanger. Inside the hanger bay was a large building with a dozen or so Podracers being readied for the race. Alien crew and pilots rush about, making last minute fixes on their vehicles. Watto, Qui-Gon, and Jar Jar walk through the activity.
Watto sneered as he turned towards Qui-Gon. “I want to see your spaceship the moment the race is over!” he said, glaring at the older man.
“Patience, my blue friend. You’ll have your winnings before the suns set, and we’ll be far away from here,” Qui-Gon replied, smirking slightly.
He gave a bit of a laugh. “Not if your ship belongs to me, I think....” He trailed off for a moment, then spoke again. “I warn you, no funny business,” he added, crossing his arms.
Kira thought for a moment, then chuckled. “And if that toydarian cheats us out of parts, we’ll sic Cameron on him,” she whispered quietly in Jango’s ear, earning an amused look in response.
Qui-Gon raised an eyebrow. “You don’t think Anakin can win?” he asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
Watto stopped before an orange racer. Sitting to one side, having his shoulders and neck massaged by Twin Yobanas, is Sebulba. He turned back to Qui-Gon and sneered. “Don’t get me wrongo. I have great faith in the boy. He’s a credit to your race, but Sebulba there is going to win, I think,” he replied.
Jango thought for a moment, then stepped forwards. “Why do you think that?” he asked, his hands clasped firmly behind his back.
Kira rolled her eyes at Jango’s actions. “Men,” she muttered under her breath, glancing over at Cameron, who was currently watching the discussion between Qui-Gon and Watto in silent curiosity.
Watto sneered even more, while turning his attention towards Jango. “He always wins!” he replied, laughing. “I’m betting heavily on Sebulba!”
Qui-Gon perked up at that. “I’ll take that bet,” he said, surprising his other companions that were with him at the moment.
Watto choked slightly. “What?! What do you mean?!” he asked, glancing at the undercover Jedi suspiciously.
Cameron finally steps forwards, and looks at Qui-Gon. “This is not the wisest course of action,” she said, her voice unmistakably cold. Her left hand twitched slightly. “You are endangering all of us. Do not forget who I am,” she added, her eyes flashing blue for a split second, before turning to their normal hazel brown.
Qui-Gon scowled as he glanced back at Cameron. “I know what I’m doing. Trust me,” he said, turning his attention back to Watto. “I’ll wager my new racing pod against...say...the boy and his mother,” he replied.
Watto glared at him. “No pod is worth two slaves!” he spat. “Not by a long shot!” he added.
He thought for a moment, then spoke. “The boy then,” Qui-Gon replied.
Watto thought for a moment, as he pulls out a small cube from his pocket. “I just happen to have a chance cube here… Blue...Is the boy...Red........His mother...” he said, sneering as he tossed the cube onto the ground.
Qui-Gon smirks as he moves his hand slightly, allowing the cube to land, blue facing up. Watto snarled and pointed his finger in Qui-Gon’s face, outraged.
“You won the small toss, outlander! But you won’t win the race. So it makes little difference!!” he yelled, fluttering away, as Anakin, Kayla enter the hangar on Eopies, pulling an engine in. Kitster followed after them on a second Eopie, pulling another engine in. Threepio walked alongside, with Artoo pulling the pod with Shmi sitting on it.
He laughed as he passed Anakin. “Bonapa keesa pateeso, o wanna meetee chobodd.”
Kira rolled her eyes again as she looks towards Jango. “This is going to prove interesting to say the least,” she mused, gently taking his hand in hers.
Jango nodded and gave Kira’s hand a light squeeze. “True enough,” he mused.
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she walked over towards the group entering the hangar bay, she glanced over at Anakin. “Are you ready for the race?” she asked, her hands clasped behind her back in a casual fashion.
“What did he mean by that?” Anakin asked as he looked at Qui-Gon.
Artoo beeped at C-3PO.
Kayla snorted and she saw Jango and Kira. “You two are already joined at the hip,” she said smugly.
Anakin looked at Cameron and said, “You betcha.”
C-3PO looked down at R2, shocked at what he said. “Oh my! Space travel sounds rather perilous.” he commented.
Jango glared at the young woman. “Shut the kark up,” he replied, only earning a smack upside the head from Kira.
“Both of you shut up.” Kira thought for a moment, then looked at Kayla. “And side comments from the peanut gallery are not needed,” she added, smirking slightly.
Jango blinked as he gave Kira a knowing look. “Must you hit me for everything I say?” he asked sarcastically.
She grinned slightly. “Only when you say something stupid,” Kira replied, wandering over towards Anakin. “You’ll do fine. I know you will,” she said.
Qui-Gon waved off Anakin’s question. “I’ll tell you later.”
Kira smirked slightly as she glanced over at a nearby air speeder that was abandoned. “I call shotgun,” she quipped.
“I call nine millimeter,” Cameron said, without missing a beat.
Jango blinked as he glanced at Cameron, resisting the urge to facepalm himself at her comment. He sighed and shook his head, deciding not to comment as he walked over towards Kayla, extending his hand. “Don’t delude yourself into thinking that we’re friends. I tolerate you only for Kira’s sake,” he said, gritting his teeth.
Artoo emitted a series of beeps.
Kayla sneered at Kira’s comment. “Peanut gallery? I take it I missed some action. Well Obi-Wan will have to fill me in or I will take his manhood from him before he can have children,” she drawled.
Kayla then glared at Jango and rolled her eyes at him. “I wouldn’t dream of deluding into that thought,” she drawled lazily as the corners of her lips twitched up into a smirk. “I only tolerate you for Kira’s sake. Just consider yourself lucky that I haven’t told anyone what your real name is...yet.” Kayla turned her head and she walked away over toward where Anakin and his friend Kitster are.
“This is so wizard! I’m sure you’ll do it this time, Ani,” Kitser said.
“Do what?” Kayla asked.
“Finish the race, of course!” Kitster said.
“You’ve never won a race?” Kayla asked.
“Well...not exactly,” Anakin said.
“Not even finished?!” Kayla asked.
Anakin looked sheepish.
“But Kitster’s right, I will this time,” Anakin said.
Kayla smiled. “I know you will,” she said. “I have faith in you.”
Kayla glanced at the speeder Cameron and Kira were in. “I call final shot on the mark,” she said as she hopped into the seat. “All the men can walk.” She smirked slightly.
C-3PO shakes his head. “I can assure you they will never get me on one of those dreadful starships!” he vowed.
Kira laughed as Kayla and Cameron wandered over to the air speeder. “Kayla...don’t piss him off, please. That’s my job,” she quipped, grinning wickedly at Jango.
Jango glared at Kayla again. “Karking...” He thought for a moment and sighed, before turning his attention towards Kira. “You’re hilarious, you know that?” he said sarcastically.
Qui-Gon smiled as he glanced at Anakin. “Of course you will,” he said.
Kayla smirked and said, “Of course. Let’s get the hell to the stadium. And step on it.”
Kayla glanced over and saw a speeder bike and she jumped off the speeder and she leaped onto the speeder bike and she took off on it to the field and let a trail of dust fly toward Kira, Jango, and the others.
Mos Espa Streets one of Darth Maul’s probe droids slowly floated down the main streets of Tatooine. It looked in shops and studied people as it searched for Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, Kayla, and the Queen.
Mos Espa Desert Race Area an extreme high wide angle revealed a vast arena in the Tatooine desert. A large semi-circular amphitheatre that held at least a hundred thousand people dominates the landscape. Large viewing platforms loom over the racetrack.
Mos Espa Arena Announcer’s Box two two-headed announcer described the scene.
Announcer #1: “Toogi! Toogie! Toong mee cha kulkah du Boonta magi! tah oos azalus ooval Poddraces.” (“Greetings! We have perfect weather today for the Boonta classic. The most hazardous of all Podraces.”)
Announcer #2: “That’s absolutely right. And a big turnout here, from all corners of the Outer Rim territories. I see the contestants are making their way out onto the starting grid.”
Mos Espa Desert Race Arena on the left side of the tracks across from the grandstands, a line of Podracers emerged from the large hanger, surrounded by several crew members. Pods were pulled by a wide variety of creatures and were led by aliens carrying flags. The pilots stand facing the royal box.
Announcer #1: “La Yma beestoo!”(“Yes, there they are!”)
Announcer #2: “[/i]I see Ben Quadinaros from the Tund system.[/i]”
Announcer #1: “Gasgano doowa newpa Ord Petrovia!” (“And Gasgano in the new Ord Pedrovia.)
Announcer #2: “Two time winner, Boles Roor.”
Announcer #1: “Poo tula moosta, woe grane champion Sebulba du Pixelito! Splastyleeya bookie ookie!!”(“On the front line the reigning champion, Sebulba from Pixelito. By far the favorite today.”)
Announcer #2: “And a late entry, Anakin Skywalker, a local boy.”
Announcer #1: “Wampa peedunkee unko.” ( “I hope he has better luck this time.”)
Announcer #2: “I see the flaggers are moving onto the track.”
Grandstand colorful canopies shade some of the Spectators. Vendors sell barbecued creature parts and colorful drinks.
Mos Epsa Arena Royal Box all the pilots bow from the waist as Jabba the Hutt entered the box and waves to the crowd.
Announcer #1: “O grandio lust, Jabba Du Hutt, amu intoe tah parena.” (“His honor, our glorious host, Jabba the Hutt has entered the arena.”)
The crowd loud roared. Several other slug-like Hutts follow, along with human and aliens. Several slave girls on a chain are led alongside Jabba. “Chowbaso! Tam ka chee Boonta rulee ya, kee madda hodrudda du wundee!”Jabba the Hutt said. (“Welcome!”)
Mos Espa Arena Starting grid, Sebulba, who was right next to Anakin, stood and waved to his. A small pep band played as his fans waved and cheered.
Kitster attached the giant engines to Anakin’s Pod with a long cable. Shmi gave Anakin a big hug and kiss. She looked him right in the eye.

Chapter 27
Shmi stared at her son for a long moment. “Be safe,” she said calmly. She couldn’t bear the thought of Anakin getting into anymore danger than he already did.
Cameron glanced about the stadium, her eyes taking in every little detail, from the riders to the pods schematics. She titled her head as she glances at Sebulba. Her CPU creating an electronic file....
IDENTIFICATION_UNKNOWN ALIEN MALE THREAT LEVEL_ 8.0 REACTION_MEDIUM OBJECTIVE_TERMINATE
She started to walk toward him, but pauses for a moment. Her CPU coming up with an alternate solution to the problem. Turning back towards the way she came, she walked over and leaned against the pillar of the observation tower. Waiting....
Kira blinked as she glanced over the edge of the viewing platform. “Wonder what Cameron’s up to now?” she mused, glancing at both Jango and Kayla.
“Well whatever she is planning she better not kill anyone or ass is going to be wanted by the Hutts,” Kayla drawled sarcastically as she went over to where Kira was. “And they say that I’m always the trouble maker,” she added under breath.
“I will, Mom. I promise,” Anakin said.
“Dis berry loony, Ani. May da guds be kind, mesa palo,” Jar Jar said.
Kayla came up and gave Anakin a little kiss on the cheek. Sebulba broke on a part protruding from Anakin’s engine. He looked around to see if anyone had noticed.
“You carry all our hopes,” Kayla said.
“I won’t let you down,” Anakin said.
Kayla moves away as Sebulba edged his way next to Anakin and gave him a sinister grin.
“Bazda wahota, shag. Dobiella Nok. Yoka to Bantha poodoo,” Sebulba sneered. (“You won’t walk away from this one, slave scum! You’re Bantha poodoo.”)
“Cha skrundee da pat, sleemo,” Anakin snapped. (“Don’t count on it, slime-ball.”)
Anakin looked the evil Sebulba in the eye with a cold stare.
Qui-Gon approached and Sebulba backed off toward his racer.
“Ka bazza kundee hodrudda!” Jabba boomed. (“Let the challenge begin!”)
The crowd let out a loud cheer. Qui-Gon helped Anakin into his Pod. The boy strapped himself into the tiny racer.
Qui-Gon smiled slightly as he glanced at Anakin. “You all set, Ani?” he asked, getting a small nod in reply. “Remember, concentrate on the moment. Feel. Don’t think. Trust your instincts,” he said, before taking a step backwards.
Viewing tower Jango scowled slightly as he glanced down at Cameron, then back up at Kira and Kayla. “She was walking towards one of the racers...” He trailed off for a moment. “But...I guess we’ll wait and see,” he mused, gently resting his arms on the ledge, and leaning forwards slightly.
Kira nodded slightly. “Hopefully she won’t do anything rash,” she said, gently resting her hand on top of Jango's.
“Yep!” Anakin said.
Kayla looked out. “She’s going near that damn dug who almost killed Binks,” she said. “Like Jay said wait and see what the hell she does.”
Kira nodded slightly as she watched as the pilots made their way onto the track. “What do you think the outcome of the race will be?” she asked, glancing at both Kayla and Jango.
A casual shrug was given in reply as Jango spoke. “Don’t know.” He pondered for a moment, then gently linked his fingers with Kira's. “Hopefully the boy will do alright,” he added.
Kayla looked at Kira and smirked. “He’ll win,” she said. “If anyone gets in his way then Tin Miss will make sure they don’t live to see the life of another day.”
Qui-Gon stepped away as Anakin put on his goggles. The pilots flip their switches, and powerful energy binders shoot between the engines. Anakin flipped a switch, and his engine started. The incredible ROAR of high-powered engines igniting echoes throughout the arena. One driver, Ody Mandrell yelled at a droid (DUM-4) to get away from the front of his engine. The crowd is tense.
Mos Espa Arena Starting Grid the giant power-house engines torque as the pilots gun them.
The pilots flip switches, and powerful energy binders shoot between the engines. Aliens carrying large flags move off the track. Jar Jar covered his eyes.
“Mesa no watch. Dissen ganna be messy!” Jar Jar said.
Announcer #1: “Ya pawa culka doe rundee!” (“The power couplings are being activated.”)
Announcer #2: “Hey, it looks like they’re clearing the grid.”
Mos Espa Area Viewing Platform Shmi looked nervously to Qui-Gon as he entered a viewing platform. Jar Jar were already on board. The platform rises like an elevator.
Shmi bit her lip, with partial fear, while glancing back at Anakin. “Is he nervous?” she asked.
Qui-Gon smiled slightly. “He’s fine,” he replied, standing beside Shmi and Kayla.
Cameron stood perfectly still as she watched, keeping her attention focused on Sebulba. She tilted her head slightly to the left, her CPU still bringing in and analyzing data.
VEHICLE STRUCTURE_MEDIUM WEAKNESSES_BOTTOM RIGHT HAND CORNER IN THE FRONT OBJECTIVE_OBSERVE RACE, STAND BY.............
Her left hand twitched again, then she finally glanced up at her companions in the viewing tower.
Announcer #2: “Start your engines!”
The earth-pounding ROAR of the engines revving was verydeafening.
Jabba bit off the head of a frog and spit it at a gong, signaling the start of the race.
Mos Espa Area Starting Grid on a bridge over the track, a great green light at the center flashed. The Podracers shot forward with a high-pitch scream. Anakin’s engine flooded and coughed - then died. All the other Podracers except one swerve around him and disappear down the track. The slave boy struggled to get his racer started. The two-headed announcer report.
Announcer #1: “An dare ovv!” (“And they’re off!”)
Announcer #2: “Oh...wait. Little Skywalker has stalled.”
Jar Jar was very disappointed with Anakin. Qui-Gon put his arm around a very worried Shmi to comfort her. Finally, Anakin’s engines ignite. He zoomed away after the receding pack of competitors, leaving one quadra-Podracer still trying to get started. The two-headed announcers describe the race as it progressed.
Announcer #2: “And there goes Skywalker... He’ll be hard pressed to catch up with the leaders today.”
Mos Espa Racetrack the Podracers flew across the desert. Sebulba was running neck and neck with Mawhonic. They made their way around the first turn in the track, side by side. Sebulba drove his Pod into his rival, forcing him into the wall of a large rock formation. Mawhonic crashed in a spectacular display of fire and smoke. Anakin was much faster than the back-end stragglers and passed them easily.
One of the drivers, Gasgano, wouldn’t let Anakin by. Anakin tried to pass him on one side and was cut off. He then tried to pass him on the other side and was cut off. As they came up on a cliff drop-off, Anakin backed off, then gunned it as Gasgano went over the cliff. Anakin accelerated so fast that he sailed right over the top of Gasgano and sped away.
Four Tusken Raiders perched above the race course fired their rifles at the Pods racing in the canyon below them. One shot ricochets off the back of Anakin’s Pod.
Announcer #2: “Looks like a few Tusken Raiders have camped out on the canyon dune turn.”
Mos Espa Arena Viewing Platform Jabba the Hutt and the crowd watch the progress of the race on small, hand-held view screens. Jar Jar was looking over the shoulder of a strange alien named Fanta.
“Where’s Skywalker?” Jar Jar asked.
Fanta moved the view screen out of Jar Jar’s view. Shmi and Qui-Gon watch another screen and look worried.
Artoo, down in the pits with Kitster, let out a worried sigh. The driver of the quadra-Pod looked worried.
Mos Espa Racetrack Anakin was powering around corner and over hills and cliffs, passing other racers right and left. Sebulba was in the lead. He was being challenged by another racer, Xelbree.
Sebulba slowed a little, and as Xelbree pulled alongside, he opened a side vent on the racer’s engine and the exhaust started to cut through the alien’s engine.
The blast cut along the engine until finally it exploded.
Sebulba deftly veered away.
Anakin worked his way through a dense mass of racers as they zoom over a dune sea, kicking up dust. His Pod shook violently as he webt over a jump.
One of the Podracers, Ody, caught one of his engines in the sand, and the whole thing exploded
Mos Espa Arena Viewing Platform Qui-Gon sat quietly, meditating. Shmi search the landscape for any sign of the racers. Jar Jar was still annoying Fanta for information. The crowd screamed. Watto was laughing with his friends, confident in Anakin’s defeat.
The quadra-Pod engines start just as the racers come around the corner. The Driver, Ben Quadinaros, puts it in gear, and the four engines go off in all directions in the arena, closely followed by all the other racers.
Kitster strains to see as Artoo beepeds excitedly. The announcer continued.
Announcer #2: “There goes Quadinaros’ power couplings.”
Announcer #1: “Sebulba! Ka pa me cheespa wata!” (“Here comes Sebulba in record time.”)
Qui-Gon, Shmi, and Jar Jar yell for joy as Anakin passed. Jar Jar was very nervous and pounded on the back of his alien neighbor, Fanta.
“What gooie-on?” Jar Jar asked
“Bug off,” Fanta said.
Lap two. Sebulba and the pack race past the main arena. The crowd stood and yelled as the Podracers scream off into the distance. Qui-Gon looked worried.
“He musta crash-ud,” Jar Jar said.
Kayla looked through a pair of binoculars. “Here he comes!”
Artoo let out an excited whistle as Kitster yells.
Mos Espa Racetrack sure enough, coming around the bend was Anakin, quickly gaining on the pack.
The two-headed announcers describe the action. The crowd goes wild.
Announcer #2: “It looks like Skywalker is moving up through the field. He’s in...”
Announcer #1: “Steeth pa nagoola!” (“Sixth place, not bad.”)
Anakin continued to gain on the pack. Tension for Shmi is unbearable.
Ody stopped in the pits. Droids work on his engines. DUM-4 stood in front of the engine and was sucked in, causing the engine to die. DUM-4 is spit out the back of the engine, very bent up. The engine let out one final wheeze, then exploded in a puff of smoke.
Announcer #1: “Ody Mandrell! Coona wa wunda dunko!” (Ody Mandrell into the pits for some attention.)
“Droids!” Ody said.
Terter was getting close to Sebulba, who purposely broke a small part off his Pod, sending it into Terter’s engine, causing him to veer into Anakin, and unhooked one of the main straps on Anakin’s engines that linkthe Pod to his engines. Anakin struggled to keep control of the little Pod. It whipped about wildly.
As the Pod swung near the broken engine strap, Anakin grabbed for it.
Finally, he caught the strap and managed to unhook it to the Pod.
Sebulba cut the engine of Obitoki with his side exhaust, and the racer crashes with a cloud of dust. A third racer, Habba, flew into the cloud of dust and crashed into Obitoki. Anakin round a corner and headed into the cloud of smoke. He hit a part of one of the engines but regained control.
Announcer #2: “At the start of the third and final lap, Sebulba is in the lead, closely followed by Skywalker...”
Anakin finally caught up with Sebulba, and ran neck and neck over the rough terrain. Jar Jar, Qui-Gon, and Shmi all scream. Anakin came through the arena. The lights in the tower indicate that this is the third and last lap. Watto began to worry.
Sebulba used his side exhaust port to try to cut through Anakin’s engines.
Anakin managed to avoid having his engine disabled but was forced off course.
Announcer #2: “Skywalker is forced onto the service ramp!”
Announcer #1: “Oh noah!”
On a tight corner, Anakin dove to the inside and takes the lead.
Announcer # 2: “Amazing... a controlled thrust and he's back on course! What a move!”
Sebulba was furious. He stayed right on Anakin’s tail, crowding him and pushing him through the turn.
Sebulba pushed Anakin harder, and the young boy had a difficult time keeping control. One of the parts on Anakin’s engines began to shake loose. Anakin saw it and switched over to an auxiliary system. While he was trying to accomplish this maneuver, Sebulba raced past him.
Anakin tried to get around Sebulba, to no avail. Every move Anakin made, Sebulba was able to block.
Cameron tilted her head again as she watched the race on a portable monitor she's holding in her hand. She paused for a moment, then dropped the monitor, her CPU deciding her next course of action. She stalked onto the racetrack, in a way that only a terminator can. She stood off to the side and waited.
Jango blinked as he watched Cameron walk onto the track. “What the kark is she doing?” he asked.
“What…the...hell?” Kira asked, as Jango drew her attention to the young female cyborg walking onto the track.
Shmi continued to watch, probably more anxious than she ever had been in her life.
Please, Ani, stay safe...this is getting too intense. she thought to herself, even though Anakin couldn't hear her.
She looked away for a moment, trying to control herself. But then she turned back to continue to watch the race, hoping her son would be alright.
Kayla looked through her binoculars and noticed Cameron had walked on the tracks. “What the hell?” she growled.
Announcer noticed Cameron walked onto the track. “Uh-oh apparently someone has walked onto the track.”
Sebulba raced past Cameron and he continued to push Anakin’s pod.
Cameron lashed out, both her hands striking the side of Sebulba’s pod, sending it through the air, and flipped it over. She stumbled slightly as the force of Anakin’s Podracer whipped past her. Regaining her balance, Cameron glanced back at the pod she just flipped. Her hand twitched again as she casually walked over towards it, her right hand resting on her 9MM locked semi-automatic handgun.
Kira blinked, then blinked again. “She did not just…” She trailed off, giving her head a light shake before glancing back towards the cyborg. “She did. Shit,” she added in a soft mutter.
He sighed and closed his eyes, resisting the urge to facepalm himself again for the second time in an hour. “She better be thankful that she’s a machine,” Jango said, rubbing the back of his neck with his right hand. “This is definitely causing an uproar,” he added, glancing around at the crowds.
Qui-Gon cast a worried glance to all of his companions. “What do you suppose we do now?” he asked.
Jango shrugged again. “Pray that the Hutts don't get involved,” he replied seriously.
Shmi’s jaw dropped, and her eyes went as wide as dinner plates. She could pretty much tell the audience had the same reaction, as well.
“What....what....” she muttered, trying to get her bearings after what she just witnessed. “Where’s...where’s Anakin?”
Kayla cursed under her breath. “That damn Terminator is going to be the death of all of if she doesn’t learn how to control her bloody self!” she snapped as she walked over to where Kira and Jango were to get a better view. She glanced at Kira and quipped, “I think someone else just took my place in being an insane crazed lunatic.”
The crowds gasp in shock when Cameron flipped Sebulba’s pod.
The announcer gasped in shock. “I don't believe my eyes,” he said. “She literally flipped that Pod to hell. There’s no way he survived.”
Sebulba screamed and then he crawled out of the Pod. “Poo doo!” he cursed. Then he glared at Cameron and snapped, “WAT DA KARKING HELL WASA DADA FORA YOUSA RETARD STUPIDITY WAMON?” (“WHAT THE FACKING HELL WAS THAT FOR YOU STUPID GIRL?!”)
Kayla growled. “This is going to get ugly real quick,” she drawled. “I don’t think the hutts can handle her even if they get involved.”
Cameron stared at Sebulba, her eyes flashed blue for a split second, before speaking in Huttese. “Doing what is necessary.” She paused for a moment, then smiled slightly. “People die all the time. Accidents or on purpose.” Her left hand twitched again. “I can’t let you leave. What am I going to do with you?” Her left hand twitched a third time. “I should kill you,” she added seriously. “But they don’t always like how I do things. What am I going to do with you?” she asked.
Sebulbla glared at Cameron and pulled out his blaster. “I don’t know about you girl,” he said. “But I’m going to turn you into bantha poodoo.” He fired a few rounds at Cameron.
Anakin raced over the finish line, the winner.
Mos Espa Arena Announcer Box the two-headed announcer excitedly called the finish.
Announcer #2: “It’s Skywalker! The crowd is going nuts! Oh Ah Oh Ah!”
Cameron tilted her head again as the blaster bolts slammed against her chest and abdomen. “Your logic is flawed,” she replied, kneeling down slightly and grabbing Sebulba by the neck. “I am not someone who you should threaten.” Finally, she stood up, her eyes flashing red this time as she made eye contact with Sebulba.
Sebulba gasped and snarled, “PUT ME DOWN NOW YOU STUPID GIRL!”
Kayla cursed and said, “Shit. To hell with this.” She pulled out her comlink. “Qui-Gon I think we’re going to have a problem with Cam,” she said.
Qui-Gon sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck with his hand. “I can see that,” he replied dryly, watching as the female cyborg continued to strangle Sebulba.
Race Track Cameron tilted her head slightly. “What am I going to do with you?” she repeated, her left hand tightening around the Dug's neck.
Viewing Tower Jango growled. “Kriffing,” Jango muttered, glancing over at Kira and Kayla. “Any bright ideas on how to deal with this?” he asked. “Short of one of us going down there and taking out her chi---” He paused mid-sentence, and thought for a moment, a wicked grin tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Be back in a moment,” he added, giving Kira a quick kiss on the lips before jumping off the viewing tower.
“You idiot! What do you think you’re doing?!” Kira yelled, glancing over the edge of the viewing tower, as Jango landed on the ground in a crouched position.
Race track Jango gave a quick glance back up to the viewing tower, before pulling out his knife and one of his Westar blasters. Finally, he turned his attention back towards Cameron and Sebulba. Hopefully this will work, he mused.
Sebulba growled and then he clawed Cameron with his hands on her arms.
Viewing Tower Kayla growled. “Damn it,” she cursed and looked at Kira. “Jay is just as crazy as you.” She watched what he was doing. “What the hell? He’s not about to do what I think he's going to do, is he?”
Cameron stared at the Dug, unfazed by the scratches on her arms. “You can’t stay here. But I can’t let you leave.” Her eyes flashed blue for a split second. “What am I going to do with you?” Suddenly, her hand twitched again, much more violently than before.
Snap!
Cameron stared at the limp body, still holding it by the neck. Her CPU trying to figure out what exactly happened. Two point three seconds pass, and she drops the body of Sebulba on the ground, unconcerned.
“Great...just what we need now,” Jango muttered under his breath. He glanced at Cameron, pointing his Westar blaster at her in the process. “Was it really necessary to kill him?” he asked, gripping his knife tightly in his right hand.
Cameron turned around to face Jango. “Maybe. I don’t know what I was going to do,” she replied, dropping her hands to her sides.
Jango blinked at her response. Kriff...This is getting even worse, he thought darkly. “Well...If you’re going to kill any of us again. I think we’d all like a head start,” he replied, keeping his blaster pointed at Cameron.
“If I was going to try and kill any of you again, we wouldn’t be having this conversation,” Cameron said, her left hand twitching again.
Viewing Tower Kira glared at Jango as he made his way over towards Cameron. “He better not...otherwise, I’m going to kill him...stupid, idiotic, suicidal Mandalorian...” she grumbled, glancing back towards Kayla.

Chapter 28
Sebulba’s eyes rolled in the back of his head.
The crowd gasped in shock.
Kayla looked at Kira and asked, “Think we better go get Jay before he becomes the next victim.”
Mos Espa Arena Anakin stopped the Podracer, Kitster turned up, and they embrace. Hundreds of Spectators join them and put Anakin on their shoulders, marching off, cheering and cheating. Darth Maul’s Probe Droids move through the crowd.
Mos Espa Area Private Box several aliens leave Watto’s box, laughing and counting their money. Watto saw Qui-Gon standing in the doorway.
Kira snorted in amusement. “Oh, he’s going to be the next victim alright, but not Cameron’s.” She thought for a moment, then grinned evilly. “He’s mine,” she added, following Kayla down onto the racetrack.
Jango thought for a moment, then glanced over his shoulder, giving a bit of a sigh as he watched Kayla and Kira walking over towards him. “I’m in trouble now,” he muttered under his breath in a sarcastic manner, as he put his blaster and knife back onto his utility belt.
Cameron remained quiet as she watched Kayla and Kira walk over towards her and Jango.
SCANNING................PRIMARY SCAN COMPLETE. PROGNOSIS: PRIMARY SYSTEMS_RUNNING. 89% STABLE SECONDARY SYSTEMS_ RUNNING. 85% STABLE CHIP INTEGRITY_89% STABLE
Kira bit her bottom lip for a moment before glancing at Jango. “You’re an idiot, you know that?” she finally said, grabbing the front of his flight suit in her hands. “Why the hell would you go and do such a stupid thing?!” She glared at him again.
Jango narrowed his eyes slightly. “Something had to be done,” he replied, resting his hands on her shoulders. “Even though she killed him, one of us had to make sure that she was alright and not malfunctioning again,” he added.
Kira shook her head as she let go of his flight suit, her left hand curling into a fist. “Yeah…maybe,” she said, glancing up at him again. “And by the way...” She trailed off, suddenly punching Jango in the face as hard as she could. “That’s for jumping off the viewing tower!” she snarled.
He grimaced slightly and wiped away a trickle of blood from his nose. Jango sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. “Alright, maybe I deserved that,” he mused. “Nice left hook, by the way,” he added, smirking.
Kira rolled her eyes as she hugged him. “Thank you,” she replied. “And you say that I’m suicidal when it comes to stunts,” she quipped, giving a small chuckle.
Jango smirked again as he gently kissed her on the lips. “Well...I put the blame on you for that,” he whispered quietly, kissing her again.
Kira snickered and began to kiss him back.
Watto’s box Watto snarled as he looked to Qui-Gon. “You! You swindled me! You knew the boy was going to win! Somehow you knew it! I lost everything,” he said, glancing away for a moment.
Qui-Gon shrugged slightly. “Whenever you gamble, my friend, eventually you’ll lose. Bring the parts to the main hanger. I’ll come by your shop later so you can release the boy,” he replied, leaning against the doorframe.
Watto snarled again. “You can’t have him!! It wasn’t a fair bet!”
He raised an eyebrow slightly. “Would you like to discuss it with the Hutts? I’m sure they could settle this,” Qui-Gon said, smirking slightly.
“No! No! I want no more of your tricks!” Watto said, glaring at the Jedi. “Take him!” he finally added.
Qui-Gon nodded and smiled, leaving the private viewing box as he did so.
Kayla snickered when Jango and Kira made out after she punched him in the face. “All right you two love birds,” she drawled. “Go get a room and get laid.”
The Sith probe droids watched with great interest.
Mos Espa Area Main Hanger was almost deserted as racers depart.
Jar Jar gave Anakin a great hug, then Kayla gave him a hug, then Shmi.
“Ah, gee...enough of this,” Anakin said.
He looked at Cameron. “Why did you kill the Dug?” he asked.
Kira choked as she spun around to face Kayla, missing the extremely amused look on Jango’s face. “Kayla, seriously! Grow up,” she grumbled, turning to glance back at Jango.
An impish grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Actually, that doesn’t sound like a bad idea,” Jango grinned even more as Kira punched him in the shoulder.
“And you, shut the hell up. You’re not helping matters by encouraging her,” Kira replied, sending death glares towards both Kayla and Jango. “God, men are stupid,” she muttered under her breath, crossing her arms in the process.
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she glanced at Anakin. “I don’t know,” she replied, her left hand twitching again. “I don’t know what I was going to do,” she added.
Anakin looked at Cameron and said, “I’m sure you didn’t mean to.” He noticed she had an opened wound on her arm. “Your arm is injured,” he said. “Want me to fix it when we go to my home?”
Kayla looked at Kira and smirked wickedly. “Now where would the fun be in that, Kira?” she asked and then she snorted. “Seriously you two need to just get it out and be done with. One minute you hate each other and the next minute you two are all lovey dovey and it’s just sick. So go rent a hotel or something or go to the Legacy and get laid and get it done.”
Jango shook his head as he spoke. “That’s not going to happen....” He paused for a moment, then glanced at Kira. “For a while, anyways,” he added.
“Agreed,” Kira said, before smirking slightly. “And if you try anything, Jay...” She trailed off for a moment, the grin on her face slowly increasing. “I’ll kick your ass from here to the end of the galaxy and back.”
“Thank you,” Cameron said, as she glanced at the gash marks on her arms. “We’ll have to find substitute parts if needed since I burned the endoskeleton of the T-888 that came back here,” she added.
Kayla laughed and said, “Yeah yeah whatever lovebirds.”
Anakin looked at Cameron and said, “I'm sure we can find something. What kind of metal? Spare metal from wreaked ships should work. I have some extra stuff at home. I can fix anything.”
Cameron tilted her head as her CPU began running diagnostics. “Maybe,” she said, glancing at the exposed Coltan metal beneath her epidural layers. “My endoskeleton is made of Coltan,” dhe explained. “It's a high density metal, with a much higher melting point."
Kira blinked as she glanced at Cameron. “You mean that someone could torch you with a flamethrower and it wouldn't do anything?” she asked.
“Yes. But only if the heat is below 2500 degrees c,” Cameron replied, her left hand twitching again. “Several resistance fighters tried using high powered grenades against the T eight hundred series…Ninety eight percent of the attempts failed due to the lack of sufficient heat.”
“You’re obviously built to last then,” Jango mused. “I don’t even want to think of what the Trade Federation would do if they found out about you,” he added seriously.
Kayla snorted and said, “Let’s not even think about that.” She thought for a moment.”Well at least the Feds don’t know about them. The less they know the better. Otherwise this would be a battle we couldn’t win.”
Anakin nodded and said, “Let’s get going. It’s getting late.” Anakin glanced at Cameron. “What are you exactly?” he asked.
“A cyborg,” Cameron replied. “We’re also called 'Terminators',” she added, before turning towards the hangar exit. “We should go.” Not bothering to glance back, Cameron walked out of the hangar bay in a way that only a Terminator could.
Kira shrugged slightly as she and Jango followed Cameron out of the Hangar bay
“Interesting,” Anakin muttered as he looked at Cameron.
“Thanks Anakin,” Kayla said as she hugged Anakin and kissed him lightly on the cheek.
Anakin blushed and said, “Aw...it was nothing really. I didn’t mind helping.”
Shmi walked over to her son as Kayla thanked him, smiling down at him. She had never been more proud, and she had been proud of her son plenty of times in life...but today, he had done so much.
“It’s so wonderful, Ani,” she said, feeling tears well up in her eyes. “You have brought hope to those who have none. I’m so very proud of you...”
Anakin shrugged and kissed him mother back. “Don’t cry mom,” he said. “Just feeling this good was worth it.”
Kayla smiled and rolled her eyes at Kira.
Cameron glanced around as the group made their way back to Shmi and Anakin’s small hovel. She paused briefly, casually placing her right hand in her jacket pocket, ensuring that Carter’s chip was still there. Finally, she pulled the chip out of her pocket and stared at it. “Skynet may have made an error in sending Carter back,” she said, still staring at the chip in her hand.
Kira blinked as she noticed what Cameron was holding. “I thought you said you burned everything?” she asked, somewhat stunned.
“Not everything. Infiltrator units have vital information stored in their memory banks.” She paused for a moment. “If Skynet really wanted to kill Jesse, they should have sent a T-1001. Not a T-888.” Cameron added. “It would have been much more efficient.” Quickly, she palmed the chip and placed it back into her pocket.
Kayla rolled her eyes and said, “Great more trouble.” She looked at Qui-Gon and quipped, “This has been one hell of an adventure.”
In the background, Qui-Gon was harnessed the Eopies to containers full of parts.
“We really need to get back to the ship and get these parts to Obi-Wan so he can fix the damn ship,” Kayla said. She looked at Cameron and asked, “What the hell is a T-1001?”
Cameron glanced over at Kayla. “T-1001’s are more advanced than the T-888’s. They’re more advanced than I am,” she explained.
Jango blinked at that. “And you said that you were more advanced than the T-888’s?” he asked, somewhat curious.
“Yes,” Cameron replied. “T-1001’s are deadly.” She paused for a brief moment, then spoke again. “They’ve been given the nick name 'Liquid Metal'.”
Kira felt her blood run cold. “'Liquid Metal'?” she asked. “Do I even want to know?”
“They’re shape shifters. They can change their appearance if needed, and they can shift their arms into metal spears,” Cameron explained. “It takes a lot to take down a T-1001.”
Qui-Gon chuckled softly as he glanced at Kayla. “Kayla, Jar Jar, let’s go, we’ve got to get these parts back to the ship,” he said.

Chapter 29
Naboo Cruiser Kira smiled slightly as she, Jango and Cameron followed Qui-Gon and Kayla back to the ship. “Certainly has been one hell of a day,” she mused, as they entered the Naboo Cruisers main hold.
Cameron paused for a moment as she spotted Chris in the main hold. “There’s something that you need to see,” she said, walking towards the storage area.
She raised an eyebrow slightly as Cameron walked into the storage area. " She can't keep us in the dark forever.." She mused, glancing at Jango, then following after Cameron.
Jango sighed and shook his head as he walked alongside Kira. “You’re sure that this is a good idea?” he asked.
She shrugged again as they entered the storage area. “What the hell is going on Cameron? You can’t keep us all out of the dark forever, you know,” she said seriously, leaning against the doorframe, while Jango stood just in behind her.
Cameron glanced up at Kira. “I’ve found something vital,” she said, glancing down at The Turk. “It’s a computer program…” She trailed off slightly, before speaking again. “It’s Skynet in primitive form,” she finally said.
Chris followed Cameron immediately once he saw that she was back, knowing that Sabe would be alright on her own for now...he was also pleased to see that the parts were here, as well. Perhaps they could finally get off this desolate planet soon.
“Yeah,” he said slowly, looking down at The Turk. “We need to figure out how to keep this from forming into Skynet. Any ideas?”
Cameron didn’t reply as she sat down at a nearby bench and pulled Carter’s chip from out of her pocket. “First, we’ll need to see if Skynet’s already starting to develop,” she finally said, opening a laptop like computer and attaching Carters chip to a USB port.
Jango scowled slightly. “Are you sure that's wise?” he asked, resting his left hand on Kira’s shoulder.
Cameron ignored him as she began searching through the massive amount of data on the chip. She paused suddenly, her right index finger resting against the screen at a particular spot. “There. Look.” She paused again, her CPU decoding the data as she read it.
DECODING IN PROGRESS..............DECODING COMPLETE// SKYNET SYSTEMS_OFFLINE CURRENT PROGRESS_ 50% ESTIMATED TIME TO SKYNET COMPLETION_ 4 YEARS, 7 DAYS, 45 MINUTES, 13 SECONDS.....
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she kept reading. “April 21st,” she said. “Judgment Day.”
“What did you find?” Kira asked, as she walked over towards Cameron, looking over the cyborg’s shoulder in the process.
“Blue prints,” Cameron replied. “And Skynet’s statistics. We have four years,” she said, turning her attention back towards the data on the screen. “These are HK prototypes,” she said, pointing to another data block on the screen. “And these,” she said, pointing to the data block below. “Are blue prints for the T-888 and T-1001’s.”
Chris sighed. “We can’t let it happen...there has to be some way to stop it. If Skynet manages to activate, and we see a bunch of people like you running around...well, we’re screwed. And, to make things worse, if the Federation ever got a hold of this or got wind of what’s going to happen...” He trailed off, shuddering at both thoughts.
Cameron glanced up at Chris. “See this block of data?” she asked, pointing at the screen. “It’s Skynet’s completion rate,” she said, as she continued reading.
Jango blinked. “Dare I ask what that completion rate is right now?”
“50%” Cameron replied, scrolling through the data. “As I said before, we have four years,” she added, glancing at The Turk. “Someone must have already installed the necessary software for it to continue to build on itself,” she added. “Maybe by accident or on purpose.” She turned her attention back to the screen, her fingers moving rapidly across the keyboard.
“First off, who’d do that?” Chris asked curiously, scratching his chin in thought. “And secondly, I am still wondering what we can do about it...if anything. Are you saying that if this thing’s building on itself, we can’t stop it, or what?”
“Yes,” Cameron replied. “It’s only a matter of time…” she added, glancing down at Carter’s chip.
“Great. Great," Jesse said, standing in the door way. “You try to open your hands just a little, and it’s too soon,” she added, shaking her head.
Cameron tilted her head as she looked at Jesse. “Is it? The world ends in four years,” she replied, turning her attention back to the laptop. She stared as the screen flickered for a moment. Suddenly, Cameron sees herself on the screen. White text appeared on the bottom as her face was scanned.
IDENTIFICATION_PHILIPS, CAMERON, UNKNOWN T-SERIES THREAT LEVEL_10 REACTION_IMMEDIATE OBJECTIVE_TERMINATE
Cameron glanced down at the chip, and quickly yanked it out of the USB port, causing the screen to go black.
“Make sure he stays gone,” Chris said with a sigh. He did not want to have yet another face-off with Carter. Two times was enough. “And so what are we supposed to do? Just sit and wait until the world ends?”
Kayla and Jar Jar looked at Qui-Gon. “Coming,” she said. Then she rolled her eyes. “Great, just what the hell we need more trouble.”
Tatooine Desert Naboo Spacecraft Artoo cruised ahead of Qui-Gon and Kayla, who are riding one of the Eopies; Jar Jar ridses the other. They stop in front of the sleek Naboo spacecraft.
Obi-Wan cameout of the ship and joined them.
Jesse shrugged. “It’s hard to tell with Skynet,” She mused. “Though I’m all for destroying The Turk…” she muttered darkly, glaring at said computer program.
“Not yet,” Cameron replied. “We can’t destroy Tthe Turk. Not yet. Thing’s maybe different this time round,” she added, turning her attention towards her companions.
“ 'Different'? What do you mean by that?” Jango asked, clasping his hands behind his back.
“I don’t know yet.” Cameron turned her attention back towards The Turk. “Something seems different this time. Whether it’s a good different or a bad different, remains to be seen,” she added.
Naboo Cruiser, Outside Qui-Gon glanced over at his apprentice as he spoke. “Start getting this hyperdrive generator installed. I’m going back...some unfinished business. I won’t be long,” he said.
Chris crossed his arms, wondering what Cameron was talking about. “I hope it’s a good different, but with our luck, it probably won’t be. I just think we need to stop Skynet from being born again, but it’s up to you, Cameron...you know more about them than any of us,” he told her.
Naboo Cruiser, Outside Obi-Wan shook his head. “Why do I sense we’ve picked up another pathetic life form?” Obi-Wan asked with indignity.
Kayla snickered. “Not everyone is pathetic Obi-Wan,” she retorted. “Talk about your own self.”
Obi-Wan flipped her off and Kayla sent a massive Force-push his way that knocked Obi-Wan on his ass.
On a hill far overlooking the Naboo spacecraft, the Sith Probe Droid turned and sped away.
Tatooine Street Slave Quarters Anakin and a Greedo were rolling around on the floor, fighting. About a dozen or so kids are standing around them, yelling. Suddenly, a long shadow was cast over the two boys; they stop fighting and look up. Qui-Gon was towering above them. Kitser was with them.
Cameron tilted her head as she glanced at Chris. “Yes,” she said. “I’ll keep an eye on The Turk,” she added, her CPU decoding more data.
DECODING IN PROGRESS.............DECODING COMPLETE// ACCESSING AVAILABLE SKYNET BLUEPRINTS.................. ACCESS GRANTED// T-888 SERIES_ ACQUIRED T-1001 SERIES_ACQUIRED HK SERIES_ACQUIRED HARVESTER_ ACCESSING............ACQUIRED T-1000000/T-MEG_ ACCESSING...............ACCESS DENIED. LEVEL 15 SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED
Cameron paused as she tried to access the last file. “Interesting,” she said. “One of the blue prints has a level 15 security clearance.”
Jesse blinked. “Level 15 security clearance?” she asked. “What security level are you?” She bit her lip slightly, not really wanting to know the answer.
“Level 9,” Cameron replied. “Only the Skynet AI has clearance to all files and blue prints.” She paused again, her left hand twitching slightly. “I’ll inform you if I find anything else,” She said, glancing at both Chris and Jesse.
Mos Espa Qui-Gon scowled as he looked at the two boys fighting. “What’s this?” he asked, pulling Anakin away from the other boy.
Chris hesitated for a moment, not liking what he was hearing. If Cameron couldn't access something, and she was a Terminator, it had to be big. Which spelled doom for them.
This isn't going to go good, he thought to himself.
But there was nothing they could do right now.
“Good...thanks for keeping us up to date,” he simply said.
Slave Quarters Anakin shook his head. “He said I cheated,” he said.
Naboo cruise Kayla laughed and put her hands on her hips. “Get to work, Obi-Wan,” she snapped.
Obi-Wan glared at Kayla and said, “You can help.”
Kayla shook her head and said, “That’s your job not mine.”
Cameron finally stood up. “I’ll be back,” she said, walking out of the storage area. Grabbing her jacket, she walked through the main hold and down the ramp. She paused again, her optical sensors adjusting to the brightness. She continued walking towards Mos Espa. Twenty-five minutes passed before she finally caught up with Qui-Gon, Anakin, and Greedo. “What’s going on?” she asked.
Qui-Gon glanced at Cameron briefly, before turning his attention back towards Anakin. “Did you?” he asked.
“No!” Anakin said defensively. “I would never cheat.”
Anakin crossed his arms over his chest.
Cameron tilted her head slightly. “Do you still think that he cheated?” she asked, glancing at Greedo, earning a small nod in reply.
“Yes,” Greedo replied.
Qui-gon thought for a moment, then glanced at Anakin. “Well, Ani. You know the truth...You will have to tolerate his opinion, fighting won’t change it,” he said, heading back towards the small hovel that Anakin and Shmi lived in.
“He’s right, Anakin,” Cameron added, walking alongside Qui-Gon. Her left hand twitched slightly as she glanced over her right shoulder. “We're being watched,” she said bluntly. “To the right.”
He raised an eyebrow slightly. “What should we do then?” Qui-Gon asked quietly.
“Act casual,” Cameron replied, as the three continued to walk down the streets of Mos Espa.
Farther down the street Qui-Gon, Anakin, and Cameron head toward Anakin's hovel.
Anakin looked up and asked, “Who is following us?”
Cameron tilted her head as she stopped in the middle of the street. “I don’t know,” she said, before turning her attention towards Qui-Gon. “Keep Anakin safe,” she said, turning towards a dark alley.
SCANNING.............PRELIMINARY SCAN COMPLETE// IDENTIFICATION_ UNKNOWN CYBORG THREAT LEVEL_10 REACTION_IMMEDIATE OBJECTIVE_TERMINATE
Lashing out, Cameron grabbed the arm of a young woman and hauled her out into the open. She studied her for a split second, her CPU taking in every detail of her opponent. She made eye contact with the other woman, her eyes flashing blue for a split second.
Qui-Gon nodded, and motioned for Anakin to follow him. “Come on, Ani. Let’s get out of here,” he said, quickening his pace.
She stared at Cameron for a moment, her own CPU bringing in data as well. SCANNING.............SCAN COMPLETE// IDENTIFICATION_UNKNOWN CYBORG THREAT LEVEL_8.5 REACTION_IMMEDIATE OBJECTIVE_TERMINATE
She lashed out, grabbing Cameron by the neck, and smashing her head first into a nearby wall repeatedly. Three point four seconds pass as the TX grabbed Cameron by the shoulders, and flung her down the main street, sending her into a nearby parts kiosk.
ADJUSTING FILE.............. IDENTIFICATION_ TX SERIES THREAT LEVEL_15 REACTION_IMMEDIATE OBJECTIVE_EVADE IF POSSIBLE
She stared at the TX for a moment, then sprinted the other way, in hope of leading the female cyborg away from Qui-Gon and Anakin.
Her head twitched slightly to the right as she ran after Cameron, easily catching up with the younger looking cyborg. She reached out and grabbed Cameron’s arm, spinning her around and slamming her into a nearby wall, causing Cameron to break right though said wall. The TX casually stepped over the debris, and grabbed Cameron by the shoulders again, then backhands her across the face. Pausing for a moment, she shifted her right hand into metal, then into a directed plasma cannon.
Cameron stumbled from the force of the backhand to her face. She glanced up just in time...
FFZZT!
She was sent flying backwards again, the plasma bolt hitting her in the chest. She slammed into the side of a nearby hovel, some of the concrete crumbling down around her. Her head twitched slightly as she turns her attention back towards the TX, bits and pieces of Coltan metal are exposed beneath her skin.
She stared curiously at the younger cyborg, before kicking her in the face. She fired another plasma charge, temporarily deactivating Cameron. Pausing for a moment, the TX’s body shimmered a metallic silver before being replaced with a splitting image of Cameron. She glanced in the direction that Qui-Gon and Anakin went. Silently, she followed the same amount of damage apparent on her skin as the real Cameron.
She paused again, pulling out a commlink from her pocket. “Commander Chris, do you read?” she asked.
Chris was walking down the hall, heading back to tell Sabe that the parts had arrived and they’d be off his planet in no time, but suddenly, his comlink buzzed. He stopped dead in his tracks and answered it.
He heard Cameron’s voice chime through.
“Yes, it’s me,” he replied. “Need something, Cameron?”
“Tell Jesse to meet me outside the ship in twenty-five minutes,” the TX said, in Cameron’s voice. “I have information vital to Skynet,” she said, cutting off the comm abruptly. Glancing around, the TX turned and head back towards the Naboo Cruiser, the scouting she did before hand finally paying off...
INITIALIZING................ MAIN SYSTEMS_ONLINE SECONDARY SYSTEMS_ONLINE UPPER EXTREMITIES_89% LOWER EXTREMITIES_80% CHASSIS_NO APPARENT DAMAGE CHIP INTEGRITY_STABLE
Getting to her feet, Cameron glanced around, looking for any sign of the TX. Finding none, she makes her way back to the hovel, only to pause half way there. Her CPU coming up with a hypothesis as to where the TX had gone.
“Uhh, alright,” Chris said, a little confused at the suddenness of the message, and the fact that she had somehow gotten information while out in the streets of Mos Espa.
But most things Cameron did were confusing, so he’d go along with it. No reason not to.
He turned around and went back to the storage room, finding her there. “Jesse...uh, this may sound a little weird, but Cameron just contacted me and wanted you to meet her outside the ship.”
“Ok-ay....” Jesse replied, shrugging slightly. “If that’s what the Tin Miss wants,” she mused, heading towards the Main hold.
Cameron quickly pulled out her commlink. “Commander Chris. Respond,” she said firmly. “Now.”
Chris watched Jesse walked out, still confused about what Cameron needed to tell her, but he heard his comlink beep again, and answered it to hear a very urgent tone from Cameron.
“Hello again, Cameron...I sent Jesse outside. Anything else?” he asked.
Cameron paused at what Chris said. “No. Do not let Jesse out of your sight. Do not let her leave the ship. Do not let anyone in until I come back,” she said, trailing off for a brief second. “We need a security system for the comm.,” She said, thinking back to the technique that she, John, Sarah, and Derek had used. “Do the commlinks have key tones?” she asked.
“Hmm, well...kinda. We have a particular ring, or buzz, when it’s someone from the security team and not anyone else...other than that, nothing. I’l go find Jesse now, and why are you asking about the security tone?” Chris asked, getting more confused by the second.
She wanted me to send her out there....now she wants her back in? Why do I even wonder about anything this woman does?
He rushed around the ship, and managed to see Jesse in the Main Hold. “Jesse! Wait!” he called.
Jesse raised an eyebrow. “What is it?” she asked, crossing her arms lightly over her chest.
“I’ll tell you about the security system when I get back. It may be tapping the commline,” Cameron said. “It’s what I’d do,” she added, before finally revealing what she found out. “There’s another one here, Chris,” she said seriously. “And it’s not a T-888. It’s something worse.”
The TX tilted her head slightly as she walked towards the Naboo Cruiser, her optical sensors scanning for any sign of Jesse or any other human around.
Anakin blinked. “What the heck is going on?” he asked. He was more confused than ever.
Naboo cruiser Kayla blinked as well. “What the hell is going on?” she asked.
Sabe was starting to get confused as well. “What is going on?” she demanded.
Main Hold Obi-Wan entered the room. “What the hell is going on here damn it? We don’t have time for foolishness.”
Kayla glared at Obi-Wan and said, “Chill.”
Chris scowled at Obi-Wan. “This isn’t foolishness...it’s actually serious business,” he told him, then looked at everyone else. “But to answer all of your questions: I’m not even sure, but Cameron’s on the line and she just told me that there’s another Terminator on the loose...and it’s not a T-888, it’s something worse.”
“Cameron, someone that sounded just like you, someone who I thought was you, told me to send Jesse outside...was that you, or whoever this is?” he asked, getting very confused himself.
Qui-Gon shook his head. “I don’t know. We’ll have to ask Cameron when she gets back,” he said, before pulling out a handfulls of credits and giving them to Anakin. “These are yours. We sold the Pod,” he said.
