Chapter 30
Mos Espa streets Cameron shook her head. “That wasn’t me telling you to tell Jesse to go outside.” Cameron replied. “That was the TX. It’s one step above the T-1000. I’ve already encountered the TX, she caused my systems to reboot,” she added, making her way back to the ship. “Do not let anyone leave or enter the ship. Not until I contact you again.” She paused slightly, before speaking again. “Terminators have the ability to mimic voices. That’s why I asked about the security tones.” She paused again as the cruiser came into view, along with ‘Cameron’ standing near the loading ramp. “I’ll contact you again. Stand by,” she said, cutting the comm.
The TX turned to face Cameron, her body turning shimmering metallic silver again, returning her to her normal human form. Quickly, she backhanded Cameron across the face, then kicked her in the stomach, sending her flying back into the sand. Her right hand shifted again, turning into the plasma weapon from before. She then fired a shot, causing Cameron to roll to the side to avoid it. She glanced back at the cruiser, then back at Cameron. Her hand shifted back to normal as she stalkedover to the other cyborg.
Cameron stared back as she snap kickd the TX in the head, sending her down to the ground. Getting to her feet, she pulled out her 9MM glock and fired, putting several bullets into the TX’s chest, abdomen and neck. Leaving no room for error, Cameron clicked the safety of her gun back on and pistol whipped the TX in the face as it stood up.
Her head spinned around completely, 360 degrees before facing Cameron again. She grabbed Cameron’s wrists, and kicked out, hitting Cameron in the knee.
Cameron ignored the stiffness in her right leg as she twisted her arms suddenly, breaking the TX’s grasp. She backhanded the female cyborg across the face, then brought her right hand down into the crook of the TX’s elbow. They trade blows repeatedly, both on even ground for the time being. Cameron pausef for a moment, then grabbed the TX by the arms. She then charged forwards, slamming the TX into the side of the ship. She then kneed the TX in the stomach, and backhands her across the face again.
Her head whipped from side to side violently several times before she is able to grab Cameron’s wrists again. She lifted her up into the air and threw her halfway across the sand dunes. She stalked after Cameron again, grabbing her by the front of her jacket. Both cyborgs continue to trade punches and backhands several times, the sound of metal hitting one another can be heard.
Cameron delivereds a quick right cross to the TX’s jaw, then dropped down and attempted to scissor kick her to the ground. She glanced up as the TX jumps over her attack.
Thud!
Cameron was sent flying again, her body slamming into the side of the ship. Getting back to her feet, she glanced up, seeing that the TX has vanished. She tilted her head to the side before taking her comlink out of her pocket again. “She’s gone now, Commander. I’m just outside the ship,” she said, standing in front of the loading ramp.
Anakin watches as the fight progresses. “Holy cow!” he said.
In the background Darth Maul watched.
Anakin’s Hovel Main Room Shmi was cleaning up as Anakin burst through the door, followed by Qui-Gon.
“Mom, he sold the Pod. Look at all the money we have!”
Anakin pulled a bag of coins out of his pocket.
Shmi looked on in amazement after Anakin’s announcement. “Oh my goodness. That’s wonderful,” she said, smiling lightly.
Naboo Cruiser Chris snorted after Cameron’s statement. “Gee, you don’t say? Only you make all of that noise...” he said, referring to the loud clanging that everyone had heard inside the ship, while Cameron was battling the TX. “But it’s a good thing that she’s gone...thanks. Will she come back?”
Qui-Gon smiled slightly. “And he has been freed,” he said.
Main Hold Cameron nodded. “Yes,” Cameron replied, as she grabbed a nearby stapler and stapled a fairly large gash on her cheek back together. “I’m sure she’ll be coming back,” she added, continuing to staple her wounds together.
“That’s disgusting, Cameron,” Jesse said, wrinkling her nose. “This TX...” she mused. “What’s it capable of?” she asked.
“She’s a liquid metal Terminator,” Cameron replied, putting the stapler down on a nearby bench. “It also seems that she has built in weaponry as well,” she added.
“What?” Anakin asked in shock. “Did you hear that mom?” he asked as he looked at Shmi.
Main hold Obi-Wan sighed and finished fixing the hyperdrive. “Hyperdrive is fixed,” he said. “This is interesting.”
Kayla rolled her eyes. “More trouble,” she muttered under breath.
Shmi nodded, practically in shock after what she had just heard. “Tell us more...this doesn’t usually happen. How did you do it?” she asked.
Naboo Cruiser Chris nodded. “Good...thanks for fixing it,” he said to Obi-Wan with a nod. “Now, once Qui-Gon and whoever else comes back, we can finally leave this planet and get to Coruscant. I’ve had enough of Tatooine to last me a lifetime.”
Qui-Gon smiled again. “Let’s just say Watto has learned an important lesson about gambling,” he mused.
Main Hold Jesse nodded. “And the sooner we can leave, the better,” she mused, leaning against the wall.
Kira thought for a moment, then glanced at Cameron. “Is there any way to stop this new Terminator?” she asked, somewhat concerned.
“I don’t know,” Cameron replied, turning her attention towards Kira. “This is the first time I’ve encountered a Terminator like that,” she added.
Anakin smiled and said, “Thank you.”
Main Hold Obi-Wan sighed. “Another long day.”
Shmi felt tears welling up in her eyes...this was even greater than the Podrace. Her son could live his life, something that was a mere fantasy until Qui-Gon and all of his friends came along. She may have had to live in slavery and poverty all of her life, but her son deserved better. He needed better.
She crouched down beside Anakin. “Now you can make your dreams come true, Ani. You’re free!” she said, feeling her voice choke up. She stood and looked back to Qui-Gon. “Will you take him with you? Is he to become a Jedi?”
---Naboo Cruiser Chris sighed. “I can’t disagree with you there,” Chris said to Obi-Wan with a sigh. “But I just say we get out of here before the Terminator returns. And time is already of the essence, anyway.”
Qui-Gon thought for a moment, then spoke. “Our meeting was not a coincidence. Nothing happens by accident,” he said, before turning to Anakin. “You are strong with the Force, but you may not be accepted by the Council,” he added honestly.
Main hold Cameron gave a curt nod in reply. “Yes,” she said. “We need to get going,” she added. “Qui-Gon needs to hurry up.”
Kira nodded as she sat next to Jango. “True enough,” she mused, gently resting her head against Jango’s shoulder.
Anakin’s eyes widen. “A Jedi! Mighty blasters, you mean I get to go with you in your starship and everything?!” he asked.
Main Hold Obi-Wan listened and sighed. Great, he thought. More trouble. “Yes they need to hurry the hell up,” he muttered.
Kayla punched Obi-Wan in the shoulder and said, “Calm down. He said he went to go get the boy and then he’d be back. Patience.”
Obi-Wan glared at Kayla and huffed. “I could say the same thing about you,” he gruffed.
Chris exhaled a large breath, and walked over to Sabe...she was the one he was protecting, after all, and he needed to check on her.
Or maybe it’s more than duty....maybe because I care about her? Oh hell, I still don’t know.
“Queen Amidala, I’m sorry about all of this. I guess we didn’t know how much trouble we’d be getting on this trip...how are you?” he asked Sabe.
Sabe looked over at Chris and smiled. “It’s fine Commander,” she said. “I’m okay for now I think. As long as no one plans on using me as a bargaining chip in any deal or anything I should be safe for now I think.” She looked at Chris. “How are you and everything onboard the ship?” she asked.
“I’m okay, I guess...everything’s been a little hectic, but I think we’re okay. We have the hyperdrive and are almost ready to go, as soon as Qui-Gon gets back from whatever he’s doing...” Chris replied, glancing around.
Sabe listened as Chris spoke. “I see,” she said. “Well what has been going on down their? I am a little behind on updates.”
Chris hesitated for a moment. “Here in the ship? Unfortunately, my Queen, a lot of it I’m not at liberty to say...wish I could, but someone made me promise not to. Let’s just say Cameron’s been having a little more trouble with another Terminator....as for what’s going on in Mos Espa, I’m not sure. I think a boy won some podrace and it got us the parts we needed, or something?” he said, only going by what he had heard through the grapevine of the ship.
Sabe listened and nodded her head. “I see,” she said. “Well hopefully they will be here soon and hopefully no more Terminator invasions on top of the Trade Federation trying to take over Naboo.”
Qui-Gon smiled and knelt down beside Anakin. “Anakin, training to be a Jedi will not be an easy challenge. And if you succeed, it will be a hard life.”
Main Hold Cameron paused slightly as she glanced at Chris. “We should still check the ship,” she said, her left hand twitching again. “The TX may have vanished, but it doesn’t mean that it hasn’t stowed away on board,” she added.
Jango blinked as he glanced at Cameron. “Wait...So this thing could be anywhere?” he asked, gently wrapping his arms around Kira’s waist.
“Yes,” Cameron replied. “The TX is a shape shifter. It can take the form of whatever it touches.” She paused for a moment, then spoke again. “From what I’ve seen.”
Chris looked from Sabe, to Cameron, and then finally to everyone else. “She has a point, actually...we can’t leave Tattooine with this thing on board,” he said, then turned back to Sabe. “My Queen, I think it’s best if I do a sweep of the ship, just for your safety, as well as everyone else’s.”
He looked to Cameron again. “It’s probably best if you help, too. You may be able to identify it easier than any of us could.”
She tilted her head slightly.” Maybe,” she said, glancing around in a certain pattern. “The TX is more advanced than I am,” she added.
“Well...that certainly helps the situation, Kira replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes in the process.
Cameron stared at Kira for a moment. “I’m only stating what is true,” she said, before glancing back at Chris. “Follow me,” she said, making her way down the hallway.
Chris nodded, then looked to Sabe and the others. “I’ll be back once we’re done with the search...let’s hope, for all our sakes, that we don’t find anything.”
He began to walk behind Cameron, and somehow, his gut told him that more action was on the way.
“Okay, how should we get started? I’ve searched before, but not for something that may be completely in disguise,” he said to Cameron.
Cameron stared at Chris, not even blinking once.” As I said before, the TX has the ability to take any form,” she said, her optical sensors taking in large amounts of data as she finally started glancing around the hallways. “We need to be very careful,” she said. “The TX also has on board weaponry,” she added.
“Well, then we shouldn’t waste any time...” Chris said, looking around the halls. Slowly, he began to approach the storage area. “There’s not much on board, but storage has the most stuff inside. That may be a good place to start looking.”
Cameron glanced about as she followed Chris into the storage area. Her CPU scanning the room, inch by inch... SCANNING.................PRELIMINARY SCAN COMPLETE// SURROUNDING AREA_SECURE LOCKER AREA_SECURE WORK BENCHES_SECURE OVERALL STATUS_CLEAR
“There’s no one here,” Cameron replied, glancing out the doorway.
Chris looked around a bit himself while Cameron scanned the room, pulling a few objects aside, and trying to peer into every nook that he could. He continued observing everything for a moment after Cameron’s announcement, but she was right.
“Okay, let’s move on to the next room,” he said, turning and walking out of the storage area.
Cameron followed Chris as they continued to search the ship, section by section. Her CPU continually scanned and brought in data in regards to finding the TX.
Pausing for a few more minutes, she shifted out of the locker form that she was currently in. She glanced around, her body taking the form of a handmaiden for the Queen. She placed the orange-red hood over her head and walked out, eyes scanning the hallway for any sign of Cameron. She paused for a moment, then made her way down towards the Throne room.
As they finished going over another section, Chris sighed. “It doesn’t look like we’ve been able to find anything...it alarms me. If neither of us can find her, and she’s on this ship...what do we do? We can’t go to Coruscant with a TX on board. Enough of us are in danger already, we can’t endanger the Senate or anyone else,” he told Cameron, taking a few more glances around.
Cameron glanced back at him, tilting her head slightly. “We wait,” she said simply. “The TX will reveal itself when it wants to,” she added.
Eirtae blinked as she watched another Handmaiden walk into the room. “What are you doing her---” Her eyes widened as she saw an exact duplicate of herself. Quickly, she scrambled for her commlink, inhaling sharply as a pair of hands grabbed hold of her wrists, causing her to drop said commlink.
She tilted her head again as she let the girl’s hands go. Her CPU creating a new file... IDENTIFICATION_EIRTAE THREAT LEVEL_7.5 REACTION_IMMEDIATE OBJECTIVE_TERMINATE
Casually, she raised her left hand, pointing her index finger at Eirtae’s forehead.
“P-Please...What do you want? Why are you here? What are yo-”
SSHINK.
the young Handmaiden’s eyes widened again as a sharp piece of metal shot through her forehead and out the back of her skull.
She watched calmly as her metal finger retracted back into its normal human form, Eirtae’s body crumpling to the floor in the process. The TX knelt down, slinging the body over her shoulder, and storing it in a nearby waste depository chamber. Shutting the door, she glanced back, a small smile tugging the corner of her lips. ‘Eritae’ paused for a moment, then walked out of the Handmaiden’s room, and headed down towards her original location: The Throne room.
Chris nodded. He knew Cameron was right, though he didn’t like it...they needed that TX off this ship as soon as possible. If they went to Coruscant with it, the havoc it would cause was almost unimagineable. It could walk into a Senate meeting, shoot the Chancellor, and walk right back out to do worse.
He refused to let it get to Coruscant.
“Yeah...I just want it gone soon, but there’s not much we can do until it comes out,” he told Cameron.
However, then he raised an eyebrow. He thought he heard something in the distance, but it didn’t sound too loud.
Just my nerves getting to me.
Cameron glanced around again as she and Chris continued to search the ship for the TX. “There’s nothing here.” She finally said, three hours after the search began.
‘Eritae’ continued to make her way down towards the Throne room, her eyes scanning the area for any other threats. Glancing down the hallway, ‘Eritae’ quickly ducked into a darkened corner as Cameron and Chris walked past. Waiting for a couple minutes, she looked down the same hallway again, then went down the opposite way.
Chris nodded. “No, nothing...this is highly unlikely, but maybe they left? Nevermind, probably a stupid question...they don’t seem to usually just leave,” he said, scoffing at himself for even pondering the thought.
He thought he heard steps nearby, where he and Cameron had just came from...however, he looked around and didn’t see anything.
Cameron paused for a moment, her CPU coming up with another hypothesis. “Everyone should undergo a security check,” she suddenly said, glancing at Chris.
She glanced back over her shoulder again, before turning her attention towards the Throne room. Without pausing, ‘Eirtae’ walks inside. Looking over at the other handmaidens, her CPU begins creating electronic files on each of them, for future use.
“But it’s what I want. What I’ve always dreamed about. Can I go, Mom?!” Anakin asked as he looked at his mother.
Naboo Cruiser Kayla rolled her eyes and said, “This is not my idea of a rescue mission. This is more of suicide mission that involves cyborgs. I’m starting to like dealing with battle droids better. At least when you kill them you don’t have to burn them.”
Obi-Wan sighed. “For once I agree with Kayla,” he muttered.
Chris nodded. “Good idea...we’ll find out if it’s disguised as anyone that way,” he said, turning around and heading for the Main Hold.
This was getting more complicated by the minute.
He walked into the Main Hold, and took a deep breath. “Okay, everybody, we haven’t been able to find anything, but we still think the TX may be on board. Everyone’s going to have to go through a security check.”
Kayla looked at Chris and asked, “Where’s the Queen and her handmaidens?”
Obi-Wan looked up. “She does have a point you know,” he said.
Sabe and the other handmaidens were sitting together in another private room on the other end of the ship. Sabe pulled out her comlink and contacted Chris. “Commander,” she said. “We’re on the far end of the ship if you are looking for us. Away from the insanity.”
Chris looked around a bit, and then heard Sabe’s message. “They went to another private room at the other end of the ship, which is good. They need to stay safe and stay out of this,” he answered, looking back to Kayla and Obi-Wan.
Kayla put her hands on her hips and said, “If that thing can shape-shift into other people. More than likely that TX has done killed one of the handmaidens and the Queen and her handmaidens may not be aware of it. Now go do your job and go check out anyways or I’ll go do it and it won’t be pretty if I have to do it.” She folded her arms across her chest.
Obi-Wan glanced at Chris and said, “Better go check anyways just to be safe. If TX is with the Queen then we will be in deep poodoo.”
Chris scowled at Kayla, trying to keep his temper in check, but his anger was starting to boil over at her for randomly mouthing off.
“Okay, I understand what you’re saying, but we are doing the best we can here. This thing is far more advanced than any of us, so it’s just a little more difficult to try to find it, but we have been doing our job, and we’ve been searching for hours. So tone down on the attitude.”
Chris blinked, shocked at what he just said. “Uh, sorry....I shouldn’t have said that. My anger got the better of me, but you’re right. Let’s go see the Queen, Cameron,” he said, looking back at the Terminator.
Kayla smirked and said, “I didn’t say you weren’t doing a good job. All I did was make a suggestion.” She rolled her eyes slightly. “And besides I’m not the one who said they searched nearly everywhere.”
Obi-Wan snickered under his breath.
Cameron tilted her head as she glanced at Chris. “Yes,” she said, turning towards the throne room. “Let’s go,” she added, walking down the hallway, not bothering to wait for Chris.
‘Eirtae’ stood calmly in a nearby corner as the rest of the handmaiden’s chatted amongst themselves. She tilted her head slightly, her CPU bringing in more data every minute.
Main Hold Kira blinked as she looked at Jango, then at Chris. “How’s this security check going to work?” she asked, trying to figure things out. “I mean, this thing is way more advanced than Cameron. And it can mimic anything or anybody down to the last detail, I’m guessing.”
Chris sighed. “I...I honestly am not sure. It was more Cameron’s idea...but we just check every person, and try to find some way to prove that they’re who they say they are. We’ll tell you if we find anything,” he said, proceeding to chase after Cameron.
“Kira brought up a good point in there,” Chris began, after catching up to the Terminator. “How will this work?”
Cameron paused and glanced back at Chris. “We’ll ask a series of questions,” she said. “That only each of us would know,” she added, still heading down towards the Throne room.
Mos Espa, Anakin’s Hovel Qui-Gon looked at Anakin and said, “This path has been placed for you, Annie; the choice to take it is yours alone.”
Throne room, Naboo cruiser Cameron glanced around as she and Chris finally made their way into the Throne room. “Remember, not only can the TX mimic appearances, it can also mimic voices as well,” she said before adding, “Then again, all Terminators can mimic voices.”
Chris nodded. “Right,” he said, before pausing. “Well, it’s now or never.”
He walked forward, glancing at Sabe, before looking to everyone else. “Okay, everyone...we’re going to talk to each of you for a moment. Just bear with us as we do it.”
Mos Espa, Anakin’s Hovel Anakin thought and then looked to his mother, then to Qui-Gon. “I want to go,” he said.
Main Hold Kayla rolled her eyes and said, “Great more scrap metal to burn.”
Obi-Wan rolled his eyes and Kayla kicked him in the shin.
Obi-Wan cursed. “Damn woman,” he muttered under his breath.
Kayla growled. “Whatever they plan on doing better work,” she said.

Chapter 31
Qui-Gon smiled at that. “Then, pack your things. We haven’t much time,” he said, leaning against the doorframe.
Main Hold, Naboo Cruiser Cameron tilted her head slightly as she glanced at Sabe’. “Chris and I will be asking each of you a series of questions,” she said, clasping her hands behind her back. “They’ll be random at most,” she added.
Jesse shrugged. “Alright,” she said, standing up. “I’ll go first. First question, Tin Miss?”
She remained silent for a moment as her CPU came up with an appropriate question. “What was the name of the Submarine that you were commander of?” Cameron asked.
“U.S.S Jimmy Carter,” Jesse replied. “Next question?” she said, smirking slightly.
“And what was it that attacked your submarine?” Cameron asked.
“A Kraken,” Jesse said, crossing her arms over her chest.
Cameron nodded. “Final question,” she said. “Do you have feelings for Obi-Wan?” she asked.
Jesse choked slightly. “What?! Hey! What the hell kind of question is that?!” she said, throwing an annoyed glance towards the female cyborg. “And no, I don’t,” she grumbled.
“Well, at least we know that thing isn’t impersonating Jesse,” Jango said, giving a soft chuckle at the young woman’s reaction to Cameron’s final question.
Cameron nodded again. “Chris, your turn to ask someone three questions,” she said, turning her attention to the young security officer.
Chris nodded, and walked over to Kira. “Okay, Kira, you’re next. These will be questions that only you would know...you’re anything ranging from assassin to military woman, right? Well, whichever you are, tell me about your very first mission.”
Kira sighed, resisting the urge to facepalm herself. “Great. Of all the questions to ask me,” She grumbled. “My first mission?” she asked. “That was a disaster and a half.” She thought for a moment, then cringed. “Let me just sum it up.. It involves me...Well...” She cringed again. “Let’s just say that a lot of explosives, mainly C4’s and frag grenades were involved,” she finally said. “Also involves me almost getting myself blown up...” she muttered under her breath.
Jango blinked as he gently wrapped his left arm around Kira’s shoulders. “You and I are gonna have a little talk later,” he growled.
“Hey! I was young then,” Kira protested. “And I’m sure that you’ve done some equally stupid things,” she muttered, before turning her attention back towards Chris. “Next question?” she asked.
Chris nodded. “Okay, sounds good enough...next one. Every planet that you’ve visited?” he inquired.
“A lot,” Kira replied. “Naboo, Coruscant, Alderaan, Tatooine of course, Dantooine...” She thought for a moment, then chuckled. “I can’t remember the rest. I’ve been all over the map.”
“Okay, sounds good enough. Last question....hmm,” Chris said, thinking for a moment. “Who were your parents and where were they born? Are they alive today?”
Kira pondered that for a moment. “Deralia,” she replied. “Both my parents were born on Deralia…” She paused for a brief moment, then spoke again. “And no, they’re no longer alive,” she said, gently leaning against Jango. “I prefer not to talk about my biological parents. As far as I’m concerned, the mentors I had in the military are my parents,” she added.
Chris nodded, understanding. “I understand...that information was all I need, anyway. Thanks for the help, you know too much to be the TX.” he told her. He looked to Jango. “You next.”
Kira chuckled at that, as she rested her head against Jango’s shoulder. “And you, be nice,” she whispered quietly in his ear.
The corners of his mouth twitched upwards slightly. “Fine,” he mused, turning his attention back to Chris. “Go ahead. What’s the first question?”
Chris sighed. “Okay, Jay, I don’t know much about you, so it’s going to have to be simple questions. Where are you from?” he asked.
Jango growled slightly at Chris’s question. “That’s really none of your karking busine----” He sighed as he saw the glare Kira was giving him. “Concord Dawn,” he replied, crossing his arms over his chest.
Chris rolled his eyes. “Listen, I’m sorry, but this is kinda something we have to do. If we don’t get the answers we need out of you, then you’re a suspect. Now, two more questions. Now, how did you show up on Tatooine right at the same time we did?”
Jango glared at the young man again. “I just finished a mission that I was on,” he said, resting his hand on top of Kira’s. “I was meeting up with my associate when I had a hyperdrive malfunction. I was forced to land on Tatooine,” he added. “Happy?”
Kira rolled her eyes and shook her head. “Men,” she muttered under her breath.
Chris scratched his head, not liking the next question he was about to ask. “Okay, uh, I hate to do this...but I have one more question left, and I don’t know anything else about you. I’m pretty much going to pull a Cameron,” he said, glancing back at the Terminator. “How did you and Kira get together?”
Jango chuckled softly at that. “Long story,” he mused, glancing at Kira. “We’ve known each other for about seven years now.” He paused for a moment. “She’s managed to corrupt me over the years,” he said, grinning as Kira punched him playfully in the shoulder. “Though in all honesty…” He paused for a moment, then spoke again. “I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he said, gently kissing Kira’s temple. “Aliit ori’shya taldin,” he mused, smirking slightly.
Chris raised an eyebrow...the language that Jango had just used sounded familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it. However, nonetheless, he had all he needed now.
“Okay, you’re clear,” he said, before turning back to Cameron. “Who’s next?”
Cameron tilted her head to the side. “You are,” she replied, before speaking again. “Where were you born?” she asked.
“Naboo,” Chris replied with a nod. “That’s where I lived up until....well, this fiasco with the Federation.”
Cameron nodded. “Your parents, what were they like?” she asked, her face completely blank.
He exhaled softly as he closed his eyes and rested his head against the top of Kira’s. “Think we’ll find this TX?” he whispered quietly to Kira.
She shrugged in reply. “Maybe...I honestly don’t know,” Kira replied, linking the fingers of her right hand with Jango’s left hand.
Chris sighed, thinking back to his childhood. “My father and mother were okay people, I guess....but after my younger brother was born, my dad left us. My mom raised us on her own, for most of our lives, and worked as a handmaiden in the Royal Palace for years. It was what inspired me to become an officer...that’s about it, there.” he answered.
“Thank you,” she said, before speaking again. “And your relation towards the Handmaiden Sabe’?” she asked.
Jango gave an amused snort. “Brilliant,” he mused, grinning wickedly.
Chris felt himself blush, but at the same time, he saw the sense in it: only he and Sabe would know that, and plus, everybody was getting asked romance questions, since it seemed like everyone had feelings for one another on this ship.
“We....we’re, uhhh....good friends, but there may be something more...just nothing official. Not right now,” he replied, embarrassed.
Jango smirked again, glancing at Chris for a moment. “Seems that a lot of people on board are getting hit hard by their hormones, ad’ika,” he mused.
Kira sighed and shook her head. “You’re one to talk, Jay,” she quipped, sticking her tongue out at him.
Chris shot a small glare at Jango, but just shook his head...in the end, what was wrong with anyone knowing that he and Sabe had feelings for each other? If they continued to progress, and if they survived this mess, it may...it may turn into more, anyway.
Panaka then walked in, after getting some much-needed rest after Cameron busted his kneecap. After Obi-Wan had helped him, and after he rested for awhile, everything was better.
“What’s going on out he----wait, there’s a Mandalorian on board?” he asked, looking at Jango.
Jango shrugged slightly, glaring at the captain. Did I ever say that I was Mandalorian?” he retorted, crossing his arms over his chest.
Kira inwardly cringed. Shit...If they find out who Jay really is...This could prove to be interesting...as well as dangerous, she thought, throwing Jango a concerned look.
“You just spoke a Mandalorian word...though you could just know the language. Are you a Mandalorian?” Panaka asked.
“Oh, it makes sense now...whatever he said earlier, it was in Mando,” Chris said.
He smirked again as he glanced at Panaka. “And if I am?” Jango asked, somewhat unconcerned about the situation.
He’s gonna get stuffed if he doesn’t shut up now, Kira thought to herself, glowering at Jango. “Will you stop baiting him?” she hissed softly, so that only Jango could hear.
Jango shrugged again. “I’ll handle this, cyar’ika. There’s no need for concern,” he replied, turning his attention back towards Panaka.
“God, men are stupid,” Kira grumbled, glancing over at Jesse.
“Nothing wrong with it, just interesting. We don’t usually see Mandos around too much...a lot of them stay on Mandalore, or with the rest of a clan. It’d be interesting to find that one is here on the Queen of Naboo’s ship,” Panaka replied, shrugging slightly.
Jango smirked again. “Alright, finem” he said, before speaking again. “I am Mandalorian,” he admitted, crossing his ankles over one another.
Kira sighed and facepalmed herself. “Gott, warum die Hölle Männer immer so ichbezogen sind?” she muttered, with a slight smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. “Und dumm, dürfte ich hinzufügen,” she added.
Jango blinked as he glanced at Kira. “What?” he asked.
Jesse snorted in amusement. “Certainly been a long time since I’ve heard that language,” she mused.
“What did she say?” Jango asked, turning his attention towards Jesse.
Jesse shrugged. “I don’t know. I don’t understand German,” she replied, causing Jango growl in frustration.
“Wow, talk about a variety on this ship. Kira knows German, and Jay isMandalorian...wow. Nothing wrong with it, but we’ve got a very interesting crew here.” Chris said with a snort.
“Very true,” Panaka agreed.
Kira grinned wickedly as she glanced around the room. “Wahr genug. Es ist sicher ein Vorteil kennend eine Sprache, die sonst niemand does,” she mused, before jerking her thumb towards Jango. “Und er ist ein ichbezogener Bastard,” she added, giving a small laugh.
Jango out right glared at her. “Kriffing hell, woman. Speak in a language that we all understand!” he grumbled. “Even more so when you want to make fun of me,” he added.
These two are crazy, Chris thought to himself, almost smirking.
Kira chuckled again as she switched back to basic. “The joys of being in the military...” she mused, giving Jango a quick kiss on the lips. “Come on, Jay,” she said. “I know that you always mutter things about me in Mando’a,” she quipped, earning a playful glare in response. “So why can’t I do that to you in German?” she asked.
He sighed as he kissed her back, briefly. “Because most of the time, I’m complimenting you,” Jango said, rolling up the sleeves of his flight suit, the tattoos on his arms showing now.
Kira chuckled again. “Whatever,” she mused, smirking at him.” By the way…” She trailed off, smiling slightly. “Ich liebe dich,” she said. “It means ‘I love you’,” she added, noticing the glare Jango was giving her.
Jango smirked slightly as he spoke. “Ni kar’tayl gar darasuum, cyar’ika,” he replied, gently kissing the tip of her nose before standing up and wandering out of the main hold.
Chris raised an eyebrow at the tattoos. He wouldn’t pry, but he did recognize them. He couldn’t place them exactly, but he felt like it was the markings of a family...some kind of famous family. Probably had to do with the Mandalorians, with this recent revelation.
But how?
He turned away, but the thought continued to press on his mind.
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she glanced about the room. “How many handmaidens are there supposed to be on duty right now?” she asked.
Jesse shrugged. “Don’t know,” she mused, turning her attention towards Cameron. “What’s on your mind, Tin Miss?” she asked.
Cameron remained perfectly still, her face blank and her eyes unblinking. “Something is out of place,” she said.
“Don’t have an exact number, but not too many...some stayed behind with Governor Bibble on Naboo,” Chris replied, thinking on it for a moment. “Only several are here. What’s out of place?”
“I noticed that there were 4 Handmaidens on board in the last fifteen minutes.” Cameron said, her CPU bringing up the electronic files of all the Queen’s Handmaidens. “There’s one missing,” she added.
Chris raised an eyebrow. “The Queen was originally going to send one out to Tatooine with the rest of the group, but changed her mind after I couldn’t catch them, and that was a few days ago...unless she’s sent one of them out into town, they should all be here. Especially since we’re leaving soon.”
Cameron glanced at Chris, her eyes flashing blue for a split second. “The TX could be anywhere, and could be disguised as anyone,” she said calmly. “Remember that.”
“Tin Miss is right, you know,” Jesse added in agreement. “I’ve seen Liquid Metal,” she said, leaning against the wall. “I’ve seen what it can do. If it wanted, it could shift into a completely different appearance, just to throw us off the track.”
She gave Jesse an approving nod, before turning her attention back to Chris. “Jesse also has a point,” she said. “We need to find the TX.” Her eyes flashed blue again. “Now.”
“I agree,” Chris told her with a nod. “We need to find her as quickly as possible, but the search is a little difficult. We can keep questioning people, but we’ve already talked to several, and nothing’s turned up.”
“TX? Something I should know about, Commander?” Panaka asked, concerned.
“It’s a long story, sir, but let’s put it this way: There’s something on board that poses a real danger to the Queen and every single other person, Cameron included, on this ship. We’re working hard to find it,” Chris said.
“Alright,” Panaka said with a sigh.
Chris glanced at Jango and Kira, before turning back to Cameron. “Listen, I am going to go in the other room for a little while...continue to do whatever you want, and if you come up with anything, let me know.”
He walked off, and headed towards the research terminal in the other room. The one that would connect to the Holonet and beyond.
The tattoo on Jango concerned him...Jango seemed like an okay guy, overall. But still, there was far too much going on to just ignore anything that could be threatening to the Queen, or anyone else on the ship.
The tattoo was like a skull, of sorts, with an interesting shape. One of an animal, no doubt. Chris put that description in, and began to search the galactic records for it.
Most of the results that came up stated that it was a universally-used Mandalorian insignia...but he also saw something else interesting: Supposedly, a Mando bounty hunter used it on his armor, as well.
Could that be him?
Cameron remained silent as she made her way into the storage area. She paused for a brief moment, then tilted her head, her attention currently set on the small black box that would eventually become the program that created her.
SCANNING................SCAN COMPLETE. PROGNOSIS// SKYNET SYSTEMS_OFFLINE COMPLETION RATE_51.4% ESTIMATED TIME TO COMPLETION_ 4 YEARS, 7 DAYS, 9 HOURS, 20 MINUTES, 5 SECONDS….
Loading ramp Kira blinked as she finally spotted Jango standing just at the base of the loading ramp, his hands currently clasped behind his back. “You okay?” she asked, walking down the ramp and stopping beside him.
“I’m fine.” He replied, still staring out into the distance. “Just thinking about a couple things,” Jango added.
“Anything in particular?” Kira replied, moving closer towards him ever so slightly. She thought for a moment, then wrapped her arms around his torso, gently resting her head against part of his shoulder.
“Not overly,” Jango mused, his right arm snaking around Kira’s waist out of pure habit now. “Just wondering how all of this is going to play out,” he added, glancing down at her.
“I just hope that Cameron finds that TX,” Kira said, moving closer to Jango. “Just thinking about how that thing can take any form it wants gives me the creeps,” she added.
He smiled slightly and nodded in agreement, turning his attention back towards the horizon. “Guess we’ll just have to wait and see,” he mused, looking back at Kira again, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards slightly in the process.
“All the more reason why we’re all on edge right now,” Kira pointed out. “Not knowing when this thing will strike…” She sighed softly and shook her head.
He thought for a moment, then gently tilted Kira’s chin upwards with his thumb and index finger. “Try not to think about it too much, alright?” Jango said, kissing her softly on the lips.
Kira smirked slightly as she replied with a kiss of her own. “I love you,” she whispered quietly, as their lips finally parted. “I love you so much,” she added, hugging him tightly.
Jango smiled slightly and nodded. “I know,” he replied, hugging her back.
“Yippee!!” Anakin cheered.
Anakin hugged his mom and starts for the other room, then stopped. Shmi and Qui-Gon gave each other a knowing look. Anakin had realized something.
“What about Mom? Is she free too?” Anakin asked as he looked at Qui-Gon and then back at his mother. “You’re coming, aren’t you, Mom?”
Outside the Naboo cruiser on the Outskirts Darth Maul’s probe droids came across a ship and they spotted the Nubian cruiser.

Chapter 32
Inside the Naboo Cruiser while Cameron and Chris were asking Jesse, Kira, and Jango questions, Kayla kept herself busy inside the footlocker of the weaponry area. She was cleaning a 12 gauge flechette shotgun right now since she done cleaned Kira’s two dual M9 Barettas and Jesse’s 9mm Magnums. She glanced out the window and she saw an outline of a spherical probe droid.
No. Those can’t be what I think they are, Kayla thought as she got a clearer view of the probes. Oh hell yeah it is. Sith probe droid. Who the hell would send them out here? Unless...oh hell no. The Sith have not been around for a long time.
Kayla gave her head a hard long shake and then she grabbed the 12 gauge flechette shotgun and a 9MM. She attached the 12 gauge to her left thigh and she loaded the 9MM. Her face had a look that said kicking ass and taking names later.
“We’ve got a small problem,” she said as she walked out of the footlocker and she walked over to a stack of crates and she raised her right hand and she used the Force to lift the lid off one of the boxes that was filled with some grenades and she pulled out two of them.
“There’s a probe droid out there,” she said. “I’m going to take it out because if that thing identifies us we’re screwed.” She looked at Obi-Wan. “Everyone stay onboard the ship and find that damn TX. I’ll take care of the probe.”
She glanced at Jesse and then at Obi-Wan and then back at Jesse. “And in regards of you not having any feelings for Kenobi is a lie. You do have feelings for him. You have them buried deep down where he can’t sense it. You’re just atin and di’kutla duumir ash’ad in because you will do anything you can to hukaatir them. Even if that means to sacrificing yourself to do so. Obi-Wan has feelings for you too, but you two are just too damn atin to admit it to each other.”
Kayla glanced at Kira and Jay and smirked. “I always knew you two had a thing for each other,” she sneered with a smirk. “I’ve said it all along.”
Kayla shoved Jay out of her way as he was wandering out of the main hold. She glanced at him and added, “Keep Kira onboard. This probe is deadly and could more than likely kill you with a single shot if it’s a deadly probe droid.” She cocked Jesse’s 9MM and she used the Force to open the hatch. Kayla turned around and glanced at Jango and then pulled out a small bag that contained 20,000 credits in it and she tossed him the bag. “That’s my payment for the Thunderbird,” she said with a smirk and then she disappeared outside. She Force-leaped into the air and she landed on top of the ship with a ‘Thud’.
Kayla watched as the probe droid came her way and it fired a shot at her and she dodged out of the way, but the shot caught her right thigh and she hissed in pain and she fired her 9MM, but the shots just bounced off.
“Damn it,” Kayla cursed as she threw a grenade at the probe and missed and it exploded in the distance.
BOOM!
Kayla pulled out her 12 gauge flechette shotgun and she fired a shot at the droid, but the bullet bounced off and it hit her in the lower part of her abdomen. Then the probe droid fired a shot and before Kayla could dodge out of the way it hit her right in the middle of her back and then fired another shot and hit her right side. She growled in pain and then with all the strength she could muster she held the 12 gauge flechette shotgun and she fired a final shot at the probe droid and it burst into flames and she sighed with relief and she panted. She was covered in gunshot wounds and she was losing a lot of blood. Somehow she managed to get off the roof and she landed on the ramp and she managed to crawl onboard the ship and into the area of where Jango was. She managed to prop herself up against the wall and she groaned in pain, leaving a trail of blood behind from where she crawled. She grabbed a nearby box for support and she collapsed to the ground.
Qui-Gon sighed and shook his head. “I tried to free your mother, Ani, but Watto wouldn’t have it.”
Naboo Cruiser Jesse rolled her eyes as she watched Kayla walk past her and into the main hold. “Whatever,” she grumbled, leaning against the wall, her arms lightly crossed over her chest.
Main Hold a knowing smirk tugged at the corner of Kira’s mouth as Kayla walked into the main hold. “I think we both know that, Kayla,” she said, glancing over at Jango.
Jango sighed and shook his head. “Karking right,” he muttered, gently kissing Kira’s forehead, and catching the bag of credits with his left hand. Pondering for a moment, he finally glanced down at Kira, smirking slightly. “Are you sure that you and Kayla aren’t related in some way?” he asked. “I mean, seriously, with some the stunts that you two pull…” He grinned even more as Kira playfully shoved him to the side.
“Shut up. And I’m not going to answer that,” Kira replied, crossing her arms over her chest. Pausing for a moment, she glanced over her shoulder and swore. “Idiot...why the hell would you do such a thing?” she muttered, making her way over towards Kayla was currently lying on the ground.
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she walked into the main hold. “What happened?” she asked, glancing at both Kira and Jango.
“A probe of some sort,” Jango replied, leaning against the wall. “She went to go deal with it on her own,” he added sarcastically.
She remained quiet as she knelt down beside the young Jedi. Her CPU taking in every detail of Kayla’s injuries. “I need a medical kit,” she said, not taking her eyes off Kayla. “Now.”
Jango gave a curt nod as he quickly made his way towards the med-bay, glancing around. He grabbed a nearby medical kit, some sterilizing agents and some latex gloves. He gave a bit of a sigh as he exited the med-bay, and made his way back down the main hold, passing Panaka in the process. “Kayla’s been seriously hurt,” he said. “She’s in the main hold,” he added, walking over towards Cameron, and kneeling down beside her. “Here, I grabbed everything that was necessary,” he said, handing her the med-kit, the sterilizing agents and the gloves.
Cameron gave a small nod as she opened the med-kit. Her attention still completely focused on Kayla. She remained silent as she continued to work. Pausing for a split second, she grabbed a pair of tweezers. Focusing on the first bullet in Kayla’s abdomen, Cameron gently positioned the tweezers prongs on either side of said bullet, and pulled it out in a gentle, yet firm manner. She tilted her head again as she grabbed some bacta patches for the blaster wounds, and gently placed them on the lower part of Kayla’s back and her right side. Turning her attention back to the bullet hole on her abdomen, Cameron grabbed a needle and some surgical thread and begins to sew up the wound.
“But the money from selling...” Anakin said as he looked at Qui-Gon.
Main Hold a sly smirk formed at the corners of Kayla’s lips and she cackled some while coughing. “This ain’t nothing compared to some of the crap that Kenobi and I have pulled before,” she said. Then she thought for a moment.
“Matter of fact,” she quipped. “This is just like that time I was Kessel when I first met those two.” She threw a glance at Kira and Jango. “And the damn hangar bay was full of damn clankers that I didn’t know were in the area of where I parked my ship the Old Fiber before I got the Thunderbird. Kira came in and spotted me and then next thing I knew was a 12 gauge flechette shotgun in front of my face and then appearing behind her was...” She trailed off for a moment and then she swore when Cameron put the bacta patches on her lower back.
“Son of bitch that facking hurts like hell,” she snarled as she hissed in pain from moving her right thigh and when that happened, more blood came out from her thigh and she put her hand on her thigh and tried to heal herself with the Force on her leg. Just as she put her hand on her thigh she felt something sharp like a needle on her thigh and she pulled it out and it was a strange type of device that the probe droid fired at her. Then her eyes rolled in the back of her head and she fainted.
Qui-Gon shook his head. “It’s not nearly enough,” he replied.
Main hold Jango raised an eyebrow slightly as Kayla passed out. Kriff...if that woman continues to run her mouth. He growled slightly and shoved the thought aside.
Cameron remained quiet as she continued to sew up the bullet wound on Kayla’s abdomen.
“She’s losing too much blood,” she said, closing up the wound she was working on. “Someone needs to talk to her to keep her conscious,” she added.
He gave an amused snort. “Count me out,” Jango replied, crossing his arms over his chest.
Kira sighed as she shot him a look. “You be nice,” she chided, turning her attention back towards Kayla. “Come on, you lunatic,” she said, grinning. “Stay with us,” she added, shifting slightly so that she was sitting cross-legged beside Kayla.
Shmi frowned and came over to her son. She sat next to Anakin, and embraced him. “Son, my place is here. My future is here. It is time for you to let go...to let go of me. I cannot go with you.”
Main Hold Panaka shook his head. “This doesn’t sound good...” Panaka commented on, on the subject of what happened to Kayla. “We’ve got to get off this planet.
Chris came back out into the Main Hold, knowing that he had done all the research he could on the tattoo. “Uh, sir, can I see you for a moment?” he asked Panaka.
“We have a situation going on here, Chris. Kayla was injured,” Panaka replied.
“Captain, this may be important to the safety of the Queen,” Chris whispered. Jay seemed like a nice guy, and he wouldn’t jump to conclusions, but he had to warn someone, just in case. They could take no chances.
Panaka sighed, and followed Chris into another hallway. “Make this quick, please,” he told him gently.
“You know Kira’s boyfriend, Jay? We both know he’s a Mandalorian, and maybe it’s my curiosity getting the better of me, but I looked up that tattoo in the galactic records...it’s used by Mandalorians everywhere, but there’s a bounty hunter that has that symbol on his plating. I am not jumping to any conclusions, and it may not be him, but I thought I’d tell you,” Chris explained to him. He hoped he wasn’t making a wrong move doing this.
Panaka seemed alarmed. “Are you suggesting that Jay is this bounty hunter?”
Chris shook his head. “No, Panaka, it’s just...I sorta wondered, that’s all. And you needed to know, for the Queen’s sake.”
“Thank you for informing me...I may have to go take this up with him,” Panaka said, turning around and starting to walk off.
“Sir, no, don’t do anything rash, I didn’t me---” Chris started, but Panaka wouldn’t listen.
Panaka walked back out into the Main Hold. He had to clear this up with Jay now, before the Queen got put in any more danger. “Jay,” he called out to the man. “We need to speak.”
Jango glanced back at Panaka and raised an eyebrow. “Something that you need?” he asked, standing up.
Kira blinked as she glanced at Jango, a look of concern on her face. Oh boy...this could prove interesting...or deadly. She flinched slightly as she turned her attention back towards Kayla. “Come on...Wake up,” she muttered.
“I want to stay with you. I don’t want things to change,” Anakin said.
“K’atini!”
Kayla’s eyes slowly opened up and she growled. “What the hell is going on?” she asked. “I’m out for only a second and then all chaos breaks loose.”
Obi-Wan entered the room just as soon as the word bounty hunter was heard.
Kayla coughed up more blood and Obi-Wan gave her a pillow and helped her raise herself up and he put a crate behind her pillow to support her. Kayla’s eyes rolled again. “Ret’lini solus Verd ori’shya beskar’gam.” Then she cursed again when she felt Cameron sewing her up. “This is worse that damn nest of battle droids Kira was by when she her 12 gauge pointed at me,” she cursed.
“You can’t stop change any more than you can stop the suns from setting. Listen to your feelings, Ani, you know what’s right,” Shmi told Anakin. She had tears in her eyes, but she knew that her son needed this...she didn’t, he did.
It was time for him to live his life.
Main Hold Chris walked out into the Main Hold. “Captain, you really shouldn’t---”
Panaka held up a hand for Chris to stop, but otherwise ignored him. “Jay, I hope I am not prying, but I need to ask you this for the safety of everyone here, especially Queen Amidala,” he began. “So I’m going to get right to it: Are you a bounty hunter?”
Jango chuckled softly as he glanced at Panaka. “That’s quite an accusation, Captain,” he replied, leaning against the wall. “What proof do you have?” he added
Kira sighed and stood up. “And here we go,” she muttered, glancing at Jango. Yup. This will certainly prove to be interesting, she mused, standing beside Jango.
Anakin took a deep breath, drops his head. Qui-Gon and Shmi exchange a look of concern. When Anakin looked up there were tears in his eyes.
“I’m going to miss you so much, Mom,” Anakin said.
Main hold Kayla snickeredd as she coughed up more blood. “I wonder how they assume that,” she quipped. “Maybe it has something to do with your tats.”
Obi-Wan noticed the blood coming from her thigh and he helped heal her with the Force.
Kayla growled. “Besides,” she said. “He’s not the only one who is branded with mando bounty hunter tat.” She pulled back her sleeve of her right mechanical hand and revealed her bounty hunting tattoo. “Part-time bounty hunter while on a mission when I was sixteen that the Jedi council sent me. To Kessel and that’s how I...” She coughed up more blood.
Obi-Wan looked at Cameron. “How bad off is she?” he asked.
Shmi smiled at him. “I love you, Annie...now hurry.”
Main Hold Panaka looked at Jango. “Your tattoo...I researched it. It’s a universal Mandalorian symbol, but a bounty hunter also has one on his armor...but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s you. We have to know these things for the safety of the Queen, and Captain Panaka seems to want to bring it up with you now,” Chris explained, stepping forward. “But again, we’re trying not to jump to conclusions. Right now, we just have to explore everything.”
Panaka nodded. “So, answer the question, if you would.”
Mos Espa Qui-Gon smiled slightly as he looked to Shmi. “I will watch after him. You have my word. Will you be all right?” he asked.
Main Hold Kira glanced at Jango again. “Jay, are you sure that this is a good ide---” She scowled slightly as Jango held up his hand in a sign for her to be quiet.
He looked back at her and smiled softly. “I can handle this, cyar’ika,” he said, before turning his attention towards Chris and Panaka. “I was wondering how long it would take for someone to realize who I am,” he said, smirking slightly. “And yes, I am a bounty hunter.” He thought for a moment, then spoke again, deciding to reveal everything. “My real name’s Jango,” he said. “Jango Fett.”
Kira sighed and facepalmed herself as she turned her attention towards Kayla. “Mein Gott, Männer sind so dumm,” she muttered, glancing back at Jango. “Warum die Hölle macht ich habe hinaufgelegt mit er? “ she added sarcastically.
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she looked at Obi-Wan. “Bad,” she replied. “She needs proper medical attention.”
Anakin’s hovel second room Anakin had thrown the last of his things in a small backpack. As he left, he stopped and pushed the button that woke his droid up. 3PO stared at him blankly.
“Well, Threepio, I’m free...and I’m going away...in a starship,” Anakin said.
Main hold Obi-Wan thought for a moment. “Put her in a bacta tank,” he said.
“And where are we going to find one of those?” Kayla quipped. “Because as far as I’m concerned we’re on a packed ship...HEY! PUT ME THE HELL DOWN NOW BEFORE I SHOVE THIS 12 GAUGE UP YOUR DAMN ASS, KENOBI!”
“Calm down,” Obi-Wan said as he carried her to the bacta tank and put the bacta in the tank and then he gently put Kayla in the bacta and tank.
“Ib’tuur jatne tuur ash’ad kyr’amur,” Kayla added hotly as the liquid healed her.
“She needs a blood transfusion and it can’t wait until we get to Coruscant,” Obi-Wan said. “Cameron, do a blood analyze on Kayla’s blood and see what type she is.”
Shmi smiled at Qui-Gon. “Thank you. He was in my life for such a short time,” she said with a sigh.
However, this was what was right for Anakin.
“My, Master Ani....I do hate starships, but I am not sure if I would like to stay here...may I request that I...perhaps, come along?” Threepio asked nervously.
Main Hold Panaka sighed. “I’m glad you admit it...I don’t hold anything against bounty hunters, but I must have your word that you will not harm the Queen, or anyone else on this ship. We already have Terminators and the Federation on our tails; I refuse to let any more danger come here,” Panaka told Jango, staring right at him.
Glad that a fight had yet to erupt between Jango and Panaka, and that Jango had admitted his identity, Chris decided to leave the rest up to Panaka...Jango did seem pretty peaceful, at least when you didn’t bother him, after all.
He looked at Kayla, and winced. She had gotten beaten up bad, and he could tell she wouldn’t last much longer if she didn’t get help.
“We have to get out of here,” Chris commented, walking up to Obi-Wan. “Where is your master?”
Anakin thought for a moment and said, “I suppose you can come. I have to ask Qui-Gon if you can. Come on.”
Main Hold Obi-Wan looked at Chris and said, “He went to go get someone. He should be on his way back.”
Kayla who was in the bacta tank opened her eyes and looked out the window and saw another probe droid. She gasped and then she Force-pushed opened the lid on the bacta tank and then she Force-jumped out of the tank and she stood up and she grabbed the 12 gauge and 9MM.
“We’ve got more trouble on our hands,” she said. “Stay here.” She cocked the 12 gauge and she used the Force to open the hatch. She Force-leaped into the air and she landed on top of the ship with a ‘Thud’.
BOOM!
Kayla pulled out her 12 gauge flechette shotgun and she fired a shot at the droid and it blew up into a thousand pieces. Then she entered the ship. “All taken care of,” she said.
“Oh, I do hope he says yes...” Threepio muttered, following Anakin.
Main Hold Chris looked at Kayla in pure shock after what she just did. “Wha...you are in a bacta tank one minute, then suddenly you have that energy? You Jedi are more powerful than I thought,” he commented.
Anakin nodded in agreement. “Qui-Gon is it okay if 3PO comes with us?” he asked. “He can be useful.”
Main Hold Kayla snorted. “It’ll take more than a couple of damn bullets to keep me down,” she said. “And besides you’re talking to someone who managed to survive getting two broken ribs and a 12 gauge shotgun wound to the right hip and still manage to kick ass and take names later.” Kayla was not exactly all the way healed. She panted some and she wiped the sweat off her brow. “After my little encounter with Kira we found ourselves somehow outnumbered by battle droids and so I pulled a grenade out and blew them up and managed to get us out of there.”
Mos Espa Qui-Gon smiled slightly. “That’s fine,” he said, glancing down at Anakin. “We should get going.”
Main hold Kira snorted in amusement. “Don’t worry, captain. He won’t harm anyone on board if he wants to keep the one thing that all men dearly value,” she said, smirking evilly. “Right?” she asked, giving Jango a pointed look.
Jango blinked. Then blinked again for good measure. Finally, he glanced over at Kira. “You’re kidding me, right?” he asked, giving her a look of disbelief at the threat she made.
She stared at him innocently. “Am I?” she asked. “What do you think?” she added, the same evil smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.
Jango blinked again, shifting his weight onto his right leg. “Kira... Please tell me you’re kidding?” He asked, actually somewhat nervous now.
Kira grinned slightly as she moved closer towards him, then kissed him fully on the lips. “Of course I’m kidding,” she said, after their lips finally parted. “God, it’s so fun getting you all riled up,” she quipped, giving a small laugh.
Jango glared at her again. “I’m certainly glad that you’re kidding, cyar’ika,” he said, exhaling softly. “You have my word captain,” he said, turning his attention back towards Panaka. “Besides, I’m not even on a mission right now,” he added, shrugging slightly.
C-3PO looked at Anakin. “Oh, this is wonderful, Master Ani! I do hate starships, but at least I will be with my Maker...but your friend is right, we must get going.”
Main Hold Panaka nodded at him. “Good...thank you,” he said.
Chris just shook his head at Kayla. “Well, I’m glad it takes a lot to get you down,” he simply said.
Anakin smiled and led 3-PO out with him.

Chapter 33
Mos Espa Slave Quarter Streets Kitster ran up to Anakin as he and Qui-Gon and 3-PO exit Anakin’s hovel. Shmi stood in the doorway. Anakin pulled a handful of coins out of his pocket and gave them to Kitster.
“There are so many of us who want you to stay, Ani... You’re a hero,” Kitster said.
“I... have to go,” Anakin said.
Qui-Gon moved a short way down the street.
“Well?” Kitster asked.
“Well,” Anakin said.
“Thanks for every moment you’ve been here. You’re my best friend,” Kitster said.
“I won’t forget,” Anakin said.
Anakin hugged Kitster and ran toward Qui-Gon and 3-PO, then stops to look back at his mother standing in the doorway. He turns back to Qui-Gon and 3-PO, then turns and runs back to his mother.
“I can’t do it, Mom. I just can’t,” Anakin said as he started to cry.
Main Hold Kayla smiled slightly at Chris. Then she snorted at what Jango and quipped, “That’s because they heard ash’ad got your heart and figured that you’re all dried up especially if you don’t have the useful tactics to get your bounty on a Jedi/bounty hunter. Ori’buyce, kih’kovid.”
Shmi hugged her son, while Qui-Gon watched in the distance. She kneeled down and looked right into his face.
“Ani, remember when you climbed the great dune in order to chase the Banthas away so they wouldn’t be shot?” she asked, trying to make him recall it. “Remember how you collapsed several times, exhausted, thinking you couldn’t do it?”
Anakin shook his head.
“This is one of those times when you have to do something you don’t think you could do,” Shmi explained. “I know how strong you are, Ani. I know you can do this.”
“Will I ever see you again?” Anakin asked curiously.
“What does your heart tell you?” Shmi quipped back.
Anakin paused for a moment, unsure. “I hope so...yes...I guess,” he replied, uncertain.
Shmi smiled. “Then we will see each other again.”
“I...will become a Jedi, Mom, and I will come back and free you....I promise,” Anakin vowed to her.
“No matter where you are, my love will be with you,” Shmi said, a single tear sliding down her cheek. “Now be brave and don’t look back...”
She stared right into her son’s eyes, for what may be one of the last times. She froze there for a moment. “Don’t look back.”
“I love you so much,” Anakin declared.
Shmi hugged Anakin very tightly, cherishing the moment...she knew that he’d go off and do great things, but it just couldn’t be on Tatooine. Not now.
Shmi turned Anakin around so he would be facing Qui-Gon, and off he marched, like the brave little trooper that he was. He marched right past Qui-Gon, staring straight ahead with tears in his eyes, determined to do as his mother said and not look back.
Jango blinked again, then threw a nasty look towards Kayla. “And what the kark would you know about that, Jetii?” he snarled. “And don’t you karking dare speak Mando’a around me,” he hissed. “You’re no Mando. You’re a Jedi. You have no karking right,” he added, clenching both his hands into fists. “You’re lucky that I don’t kill you right now where you stand.”
Kira sighed as she gently placed her right hand on Jango’s arm. “Calm down, Jango,” she said, giving him a pleading look to back down. “She didn’t mean it, you know that she never does...” She thought for a moment, then rolled her eyes. “Well...most times.”
He gritted his teeth as he finally turned his attention towards Kira. “No,” he said, sending another glare towards Kayla. “That aruetii has already crossed the line,” he spat, glaring even more at Kayla. “I’ve tolerated her crap long enou-”
Kira bit down on her lip as she slapped Jango across the face hard. “Both of you need to shut up,” she snarled. “You’re acting like children. Now stop it. We already have enough shit to deal with.” She thought for a moment, then turned to Kayla. “And you,” she said, pointing her index finger in the younger Jedi’s face. “Stop baiting him and stop insulting him. Really, I thought you were more mature than this, Kayla. Obviously not,” she muttered darkly. “So both of you just grow up,” she finally added, heading down the main hallway and into the storage area.
Jango gave a frustrated sigh as he gently rubbed his stinging cheek. “That certainly when well,” he muttered sarcastically, sending another glare towards Kayla, before following after Kira.
Kayla glared right back at Jango with a cold, hard stare. “You don’t know a damn thing about me, Jango,” she growled. “You don’t have to be a Jedi in order to know the Mando language and you sure as hell don’t have to have Mando blood to be considered part of a Mando family, but I happen to have Clan Skirata running through my blood.”
Then she glared at Kira. “I haven’t been doing anything,” she said. “It’s his own fault for being the jackass that he is.”
Kayla turned and left the room and went down to the control room, a trail of blood followed her and Kayla sat down in the copilot chair and passed out.
Obi-Wan noticed the blood trail and glanced at Jesse and Cameron and said, “You two come with me please.”
He led them out of the main room and said, “I think Kayla is losing more blood than she’s willing to admit.”
Obi-Wan opened the door to the control room and Kayla was there passed out and Obi-Wan looked at her and then glanced at Cameron. “Mind carrying her to the small med room and run a blood diagnostic on her blood so we know what blood type she is? I hate to have her die and then have to explain how she died.”
“Everyone needs to just...simmer down before this gets too heated,” Chris said peacefully, looking at Jango and Kira in the Main Hold, then the passed out Kayla with the others in the cockpit. “We’re not each other’s enemy here. The Federation, and whatever TX is crawling around this ship, is our enemy. We need to get to Coruscant, get Kayla help, and get Naboo back in. That’s it.”
Mos Espa C-3PO walked down the street with Anakin and Qui-Gon. “My my, this will be interesting,” he commented.
Kira exhaled softly as she walked into the storage area, rubbing the back of her neck in the process. “Sometimes I wonder,” she mused, shaking her head.
“Wonder about what?” Jango asked, gently leaning against the door frame.
Kira turned and glared at him. “About why the hell I put up with you sometimes,” she replied sharply. Pausing for a moment, she crossed her arms over her chest. “I mean, seriously Jango. You need to control your temper. Don’t let Kayla get to you, no matter what stupid things she says to you,” she added, frowning.
He gave another frustrated sigh as he walked towards her. “It’s not my fault that di’kut doesn’t know when to put her foot in her mouth, “ Jango replied, gently placing his hands on her waist.
“Right and you giving her more ammunition to throw back at you has absolutely nothing to do with it?” Kira replied sarcastically, her eyes narrowing slightly in annoyance.
“Why the kark are you being so hostile all of a sudden?” he asked, trying to make eye contact with her.
She glared at him even more. “Because I’m sick and tired of hearing the two of you constantly trading insults!” she snapped. “Why the hell can’t the two of you work together on civil terms?! My god,” Kira added, turning her back towards Jango.
“I try to,” Jango replied, getting more and more frustrated. “It’s just her and her karking immaturity that always surfaces whenever she opens her large mouth,” he snarled.
“Maybe...” Kira mused, gently resting her back against Jango’s chest. “And don’t worry, she’s not off the hook yet either,” she added, smirking slightly. “I’ll be tearing a strip out of her too.”
Jango gave a soft chuckle as he gently turned her around in his arms. “Mind if I come watch?” he asked, a small grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
“If you want.” Kira grinned as she kissed his cheek, then quickly pulled herself out of his arms in a teasing fashion.
He gave her a look of mock hurt. “And just as things were getting interesting.” Jango grinned, as he walked past her and out into the main hold again.
Tatooine Desert Naboo Spacecraft Qui-Gon, 3-PO and Anakin ran toward the Naboo spacecraft. Anakin was having a hard time keeping up.
“Master Qui-Gon, sir, wait!” Anakin said.
Ship Obi-Wan watched as Cameron carried Kayla to the med room and he got some equipment out for Cameron.
Outskirts Qui-Gon narrowed his eyes as he spotted a dark cloaked figure bearing down on a speeder bike. “Anakin! Drop!” he yelled, grabbing his lightsaber in the process.
Med-Bay Cameron tilted her head slightly as she glanced at Kayla, her CPU running several diagnostics on her blood and other injuries. Finally, she glanced over at Obi-Wan. “She’s blood type B-,” she said calmly, before glancing out a nearby window. “I’ll be right back,” she said, leaving the med-bay before Obi-Wan could protest.
Outskirts Cameron’s eyes instantly adjusted to the change in brightness as she stepped off the loading ramp, and made her way over towards Qui-Gon.
Qui-Gon scowled as he noticed the female terminator beside him. “Grab Anakin and Threepio and get back on board,” he said, waiting for the incoming attack.
Her eyes flashed blue momentarily. “No. I can help you,” she said, not moving an inch. “Our opponent doesn’t know who I am,” she added. “We have the advantage.”
Anakin and 3-PO dropped to the ground just as Darth Maul swept over him. Darth Maul jumped off his speeder bike, and before he had hit the ground, the Sith Lord had swung a death blow with his laser sword that is barely blocked by Qui-Gon.
Anakin picked himself up. The two galactic warriors, Sith and Jedi, were bashing each other with incredible blows. They move in a continual cloud of dust, smashing everything around them. This is a fierce fight. Anakin got up, bewildered by the confrontation.

Chapter 34
Med Bay Before Obi-Wan could say anything Cameron left. He cursed and he grabbed several syringes and cotton swabs.
“Jesse can you help grab some stuff?” he asked. “We’re going to get blood samples from everyone on board the ship. I would donate but I’m type AB+.”
He headed out to main hold of where mostly everyone was and said, “We’re taking blood samples from everyone to see if you are a compatible Match for Kayla who is type B-.”
“If you are her blood-type you may have a chance of saving her from death. Everyone is getting tested no exceptions.” He stuck everyone and he glanced around. “Where the hell isKira and Jango?” he growled. “Kira. Jango front and center now!”
Chris glanced out the window, and his jaw dropped when he saw Qui-Gon and Darth Maul fighting. “What the....what is happening now?! Is that another Jedi?!” he yelled out, to no one in particular.
He also saw Cameron out there.
Well, on the positive side, this guy has some fierce competition...a Jedi Master and Terminator going up against him?? Not looking good for him.
Outside Threepio stood up, albeit difficultly due to how he was built, and looked at his creator. “Come, Master Ani, let’s get to the ship!!! Oh this is terrible!!”
Cameron tilted her head slightly as she suddenly lashed out, sending a snap kick to the Sith’s chest.
IDENTIFICATION_UNKNOWN ALIEN MALE THREAT LEVEL_ 8.9 REACTION_IMMEDIATE OBJECTIVE_TERMINATE
She struck again, sending a quick backhand towards the Sith’s face, while ducking under another strike aimed at both her and Qui-Gon.
Qui-Gon gritted his teeth as he tried to keep up with the Sith’s attacks. Parry, thrust, parry, feint. The pattern continued, as he attempted to go on the offensive.
Main Hold Kira raised an eyebrow as she glanced at Obi-Wan and Jesse. “You won’t be getting much of a blood match from me,” she replied. “I’m AB+.”
Jango scowled as he leaned against a nearby wall. “Unfortunately for me...” he grumbled. “I’m B-,” he added, crossing his arms over his chest.
Outside Darth Maul continued with his attacks and then he flipped into the air and he clashed his saber with Qui-Gon’s. Anakin stood there frozen. Afraid to even move anywhere.
Main Hold Obi-Wan ran a test on the blood he collected. “Unfortunately everyone else is either A- or AB+,” he said and he glanced at Jango and hesitated for a moment. “I know you and Kayla don’t see eye to eye, but would you be willing to donate your blood to help save Kayla’s life?” he asked.
Cameron stared at the Sith as she lashed out again, grabbing his wrists and squeezing them in the process, in an attempt to make him drop his weapon.
Main hold Jango sighed as he noticed the look he was getting from Kira. “Guess I have no choice,” he muttered, glancing back at Obi-Wan. “Lead the way,” he added.
Darth Maul dropped his saber and then he shot Force lightning at Cameron.
Main hold Obi-Wan shook his head and said, “Med Bay.”
Obi-Wan led Jango down the hall that led to Kayla’s room and she was hooked up to an IV drip, and a blood bag dangled from her left arm of where her bounty hunter tattoo was but the tattoo was on the outer part of her wrist.
“How the hell do you three even know each other and stand to be around each other?” Obi-Wan asked as he looked at Jango and Kira. “Roll up your sleeve,” he said to Jango as he got the stuff ready to take the blood from Jango.
Cameron ducked under the force attack as she snap kicked Maul in the chest again. Leaving no room for error, she stalks over towards him, and grabs him by the front of his tunic, then flings him across the desert.
Main Hold Jango chuckled softly as he rolled up his sleeve. “It’s a long story,” he mused. “It’s better if you ask Kayla once she wakes up.” He added.
Darth Maul flew across the desert and then decides not to attack again. What the hell was that thing? he thought to himself.
Main hold Obi-Wan smirked. “That should be interesting,” he said with amusement. He stuck the needle in Jango’s arm and started pumping blood into Kayla’s blood bag and Jango’s blood tripped into her tub and went inside her. She groaned some and moved around a little.
Cameron glanced back at Qui-Gon as Maul struggles to his feet. “We should leave,” she said, before looking over at Maul, her eyes flashing red momentarily. “Now.”
Qui-Gon nodded, sweat trickling down the back of his neck. “Agreed,” he said, as he and Cameron made their way back onto the ship, Anakin and Threepio following in behind them.
She glanced back, shutting and sealing the ramp as all of them finally got into the main hold. Turning her comm on, she contacted Ric. “Let’s get out of here,” she said.
Med-Bay Kira smirked slightly as she sat next to Jango. “You’re forgiven now,” ahe said, kissing the corner of his mouth.
Jango raised an eyebrow at that. “Oh really?” he asked, as he shifted slightly, while still lying on his back.
Kira sighed and shook her head at the look on Jango’s face. “Don’t push your luck, Fett,” she muttered, gently linking the fingers of her right hand with his left.
Obi-Wan sighed. “This could take a bit,” he said. “She’s lost....” Then Kayla’s eyes rolled in the back of her and her heart rate started to drop.
Obi-Wan looked and noticed that her oxygen level was going down. He grabbed the oxygen tank and turned it on and then he stuck the tube in Kayla’s nose.
Kayla’s nose got a big whiff of the oxygen and she felt something poke her in the nose and then she smacked Obi-Wan upside the head with her flesh hand.
“Ouch!” Obi-Wan said as he rubbed his head.
“Next time you shove that damn tube up my nose you’ll find my saber up your ass,” Kayla growled still groggy as she glanced around the room. Her heart rate went back to normal as she took a deep breath and she cackled slightly. “Before I tell anyone a damn thing....” Her voice trailed off slightly and she noticed a tube linking from Jango’s arm and another tube that linked to her arm and she noticed that blood was coming from his arm into the bag that was connected to her tube on her arm. She blinked and looked again to make sure her eyes were not playing tricks on her.
No way in hell would Jay give me blood unless hell froze over or unless Kira threatened him, she thought.
Instead of using a tone that would set Jango into rant mode, Kayla sighed softly as she raised herself up and Obi-Wan put her pillow behind her back.
“You of all people I would ever expect to help me out? Why help me? I thought you despised me?” she asked as she lowered herself down slightly.
Outside Maul pondered. He also noticed that Cameron’s eyes had turned red slightly.
Panaka approached Ric. “Yes, it probably would be a good idea for us to leave. I don’t know what all that was about, but we have to go,” he said.
“Right!” Ric yelled, flying the ship up towards space.
“My goodness, that was close...” Threepio commented in the Main Hold.
“Things just get more and more insane around here by the minute,” he said. He shook his head, hoping that Jedi or whoever he was is taken care of. He approached Cameron. “Hey...I know we can’t really do much about it if it won’t show itself, but what about the TX?”
Med Bay Jango smirked slightly as he glanced over at Kayla. “I do despise you,” he said, the smirk steadily increasing. “The thing is though, I’m the only karking B- on board the ship,” he admitted. “Besides you, of course,” he added sarcastically.
Main hold Cameron stared at Chris for a moment before responding. “We wait,” she said. “The TX’s programming is more advanced than my own. There’s a good possibility that the TX is messing with my sensors remotely,” she added.
“Well that’s just great,” Jesse said, rolling her eyes. “Now we’re completely blind,” she added in a sarcastic mutter.
Med Bay Kayla snickered under her breath. “I kind of figured that, but you’ve always despised me from the moment you met me from day one,” she quipped as she raised her right hand and used the Force to bring a screwdriver over to her to tighten up her left hand. “I suppose this makes us even now,” she said. “On civilized terms hopefully.”
Obi-Wan looked at the blood drip. “This will probably take about two hours,” he said. “Well you’re just sitting there with nothing to do enlighten us with the tale of how you three actually met.”
Kayla thought for a moment and smirked. “Well this should be very interesting,” she said. “I advise you to make yourself comfortable and hopefully no one will get pissed.”
Main Hold Anakin looked around and he went to the control room where Ric was.
Ric looked at Anakin, after he walked in. “Hello....when did you get on board?” he asked, not remembering a child being on the ship.
Kira chuckled softly as she rested her head against Jango’s shoulder. “This is definitely going to be interesting...” She mused, giving him a light kiss on the cheek.
He gave a curt nod as he kissed her back. “That it will be, cyar’ika,” Jango said, gently taking hold of her hand in his, while linking their fingers together.
Jesse smirked slightly as she leaned against the door frame of the med bay. “Well, this story could be just as interesting as some the missions that I went on. “ She said, wandering into the room and taking a seat next to Obi-Wan.
Control Room Anakin smiled. “I just got here with Qui-Gon and Cameron,” he said. “This C-3PO.” He pointed to his droid.

Chapter 35
Main Hold Obi-Wan smiled when Jesse came into the room and nodded. “Oh yes especially since Kayla is going to be entertaining us,” he quipped.
Kayla glared at Obi-Wan. “Watch it, Kenobi,” she said and took a deep breath. “I was sixteen and the Jedi Council assigned Kessel to stop two bounty hunters from receiving a shipment of rare supplies. My job was to pose as a bounty hunter name Raina and myself involved in Jango’s operation and I was successful in getting into the operation and I met another associate of his name Kira Solaris and the two became partners. A few weeks after getting use to everything, Jango assigned them to making sure that his shipment of supplies arrived on time. When Jango’s business partner Rob arrived he turned out to be a scumbag and threatened to shoot Kira and me. Before Rob could even point his blaster at Kira, I quickly sent a massive Force-push at Rob knocking him into the wall and ignited my lightsaber under his chin and to our surprise the room filled up with thousands of clankers. And after blasting some clankers and we realized it wasn’t going to be enough despite the fact that Kira was shocked and pissed to realize I was a Jedi. I pulled out a grenade and then threw it and then she pulled out her blaster and fired at a power cell that was running the bunker and the bunker blew to hell.” Kayla snickered at the memory. “Jango of course found out about the bunker blowing to hell along with his supplies he was not very happy at all. “‘KARKING HELL WOMAN!!!’ WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?’” Jango demanded as he looked at Kira. “’WAS THIS YOUR BRIGHT IDEA?!’” And Kira glared daggers at Jango and said, ‘“For once it was not me. It was the Jedi.”‘ ‘“Jedi?”‘ Jango growled as he glanced at me and pointed his gun at my forehead. Just as he was about to blast Kayla’s head off, Kira grabs his arm and says, ‘“Jay, don’t!”‘ Jango glared at Kira and asked, ‘“Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t?”‘ Kira sighed and said, “Because she saved me.” Jango glared at Kira. “Don’t ever do that again,” he said. Then Jango looked at me and said, “You better start explaining now before I shoot you where you stand.” ‘“The Jedi Council found out about your illegal operation and they sent me out here to investigate,”‘ I explained. ‘“But it was not me who sent you a traitor. That’s your fault for not making sure he wouldn’t try and kill anyone.”‘
Kayla glanced at Kira and said, “I’ll let you explain the neutral terms.” She smirked cheekily.
“Why hello, sir, I am C-3PO of human cyborg relations,” Threepio said to Ric.
“Wow, he looks to be in his early stages,” Ric said, glancing at the “nude” droid.
“Yes, I am afraid I am quite naked,” Threepio agreed.
“Glad to have you two on the ship, but you better stay safe...we’re going to be facing alot. Not stuff for kids,” Ric said to Anakin.
Kira chuckled softly as she glanced at Jango. “Not much to tell there,” she mused, pondering for a moment. “Basically me just threatening him not to do anything stupid, really.” She grinned slightly at the memory.
“Threatening to shoot me somewhere, if I recall...” Jango growled, glaring at Kira in a semi-playful manner.
Kira snickered slightly at that. “Was there any other way to convince you to be civil?" she asked, giving his hand a light squeeze.
Jango sighed and closed his eyes. “Do I really need to answer that?” he asked.
She grinned again as another memory began to surface. “Oh, and kicking his ass in a couple sparring matches helped too…” Kira said, as she quickly scrambled off the bio-bed.
“You had to reveal that little bit of information, didn’t you?” he asked, glancing at her, his eyes half open.
Kira shrugged slightly. ”It’s better to hear the whole story, isn’t it?” she asked, crossing her arms over her chest.
Jesse chuckled softly as she glanced at the three. “Seems that you three have had an eventful life,“ she mused, unconsciously running her thumb across her prison tattoo.
Main hold Cameron tilted her head slightly as she looked over at Anakin. “Do you still want to take a look at my arm?” she asked, her left hand twitching again.
“Okay, we’re making the jump to hyperspace now...time to get as far away as we can from this place,” Ric announced, punching in several buttons, and mere seconds later, the Naboo cruiser powered up and made the jump to lightspeed.
Jesse fidgeted slightly. “Yeah,” she said, glancing down at said tattoo. “Skynet prison camp,” she added, frowning slightly. “It was one of my earlier missions...” she mused, pausing for a split second. “Ran into three trip eights while trying to recover some supplies that were stolen from us by the Greys,” she said, spitting out the word ‘Grey’ as if it were a vile taste in her mouth. “Trips caught me, sent me to prison and branded me with this,” she said, lifting up her forearm so that her tattoo was completely visible. “There’s more to the story, but...” She paused again. “Maybe for another time,” she said, shifting slightly, so that she was sitting cross-legged.
Kira raised an eyebrow. “You’ve been through a lot, haven’t you?” she asked, her respect for the younger woman going up steadily.
“We all did. Ever since Judgment Day,” she replied.
Jango thought for a moment, then finally spoke. “Fine. Whatever you say,” he mused, closing his eyes again.
Main Hold Cameron smiled slightly, pulling out her switch blade in the process. “I’ll have to cut away the epidural layers covering my chassis,” she said, making a small cut across her wrists, then down her forearm, and across the crook of her elbow. “The damage is pretty deep,” she said, pulling back the epidural layers to reveal the coltan metal hydrolics in bedded in her arm.
Kayla listened as Jesse spoke. “Do you even know who the hell created Skynet?” she asked out of curiosity. “If so any way for you guys to try and stop them before Judgment Day?”
Kayla glanced at Jango and said, “Good. And I’ll try not to royally piss you off.” She smirked. “Just don’t take every little thing I say seriously. Like Kira stated before I only make jokes sometimes unless you royally piss me off then it’s the other way around.”
Obi-Wan listened as Jesse spoke. “Interesting story,” he said. He checked Kayla’s blood bag and it was empty. “You two are finished,” he said as he took the oxygen tube off Kayla and unhooked her blood bag from her and then he unhooked Jango and gave him a bandage. “You take it easy and don’t go chasing after probe droids again,” he growled at Kayla.
Kayla glared at Obi-Wan and snapped, “And since when do I listen to you? Hell would likely freeze over if something like that exactly happened.” She smacked Obi-Wan upside the head and Obi-Wan growled and said, “Insane lunatic.”
Main Hold Anakin sat across from Cameron. “All right,” he said. “You got some damage to your gears. What kind of metal is this?”
“His name was Andy Good,” Jesse replied, trailing off for a moment. “Don’t think there is a way for us to stop Skynet,” she said, glancing away for a split second. “The world ends in four years, you know,” she added.
Jango glanced at Kira and smirked slightly. “We’re currently 1-2 for sparring matches,” he said. “It’s time for me to even up the score, cyar’ika, ” he added.
Kira shook her head. “Not for a couple hours, Fett,” she replied. “You’ve just donated blood. Give your body time to re-adjust. “
Jango thought for a moment and nodded, pulling Kira into his arms. “Fine,” he said, gently kissing her forehead.
Main Hold Cameron looked at Anakin. “Coltan,” Cameron replied. “It’s much stronger than Titanium, and it’s much more heat resistant,” she added, slowly flexing her fingers, causing the hydrolics in her arm to move in sync.
Kayla swung her legs over the edge of her bed and she snickered when Jango said something about even the score with Kira. “I bet Kira would win,” she quipped. Then she walked out of the room to see where Qui-Gon was. She was bandaged up still.
Obi-Wan watched as Kayla left the room. “I’ll be back,” he said as he caught up with Kayla in the main hold.
Main Hold Anakin examined Cameron’s arm. “Interesting,” he said. “Mind if I tighten up some of the screws? Some of them are loose.”
Obi-Wan saw the boy and asked, “Who are you?”
Anakin looked up and Kayla said, “Obi-Wan Kenobi, meet Anakin Skywalker.”
“Pleased to meet you,” Anakin said as he shook Obi-Wan’s hand. “Wow you’re a Jedi Knight too.”
Obi-Wan gave the boy a skeptical look.
Chris walked around the ship, making his rounds, trying to make sure if he could find any sign of the TX...he knew it was of no use, but why not try?
However, despite the TX still being a very glaring issue, he was relieved. Despite all the problems, they had escaped Tattooine. They were on their way to Coruscant, and finally, could start to save his home planet.
He just didn’t want the TX to cause any trouble.
After having no luck finding the Terminator, he walked into the Throne Room, where Sabe was. “Hey, my Queen,” he said with a smile. “We finally got you off Tattooine.”
Jango sighed and shook his head. “I’ll never understand that woman,” he grumbled, hugging Kira against his side.
Kira blinked, then grinned wickedly. “And you think that you understand me?” she asked, glancing up at him.
Jango cursed, realizing he was verbally cornered. He sighed and shook his head. “Forget I said anything,” he replied.
Main Hold Cameron thought for a moment. “You’ll have to adjust three specific junctions,” she said. “Here.” She pointed at the middle hydrolic. “Here.” Then to the bottom right hydrolic. “And here.” Finally, she pointed to the upper left hand hydrolic.
Main Hold Anakin followed Cameron’s hand motion and made the adjustments. “There you go. All fixed.”
