Lucifer looked ready to continue the assault ready to now take the fight up close as he started to maneuver toward him against the wind before snapping to a stop at his brother’s beckon. Cocking his head around to glimpse his brother waving the attack off Lucifer slowed to a steady descend opposed to his original intent, within moments Noctis was beside him and without requesting began a simple explaination of why he was stopped.
“I think Malum as him right where he wants him.” He commented remarking on the lightning as he gazed forward seemingly assumed by the demonstration of power Malum displayed utilizing the force as a toolof destruction, something Noctis hoped to archive such strength under the dark lord’s tutorage, with time of course.
“He ordered you bring the creature to him, that you have done, until further orders are issued remain here, Malum wants him trapped like a rat.” Noctis continued giving reason to the explanation, the ever silent Lucifer returned another nod, Noctis could feel the discomfort in regard to the entire situation, still held some animosity toward him Noctis imagined; He’d learn to accept, and even enjoy the service to the empire.

"You are stronger than you would appear, boy. I wonder how you would stand against the full power of the Dark Side."
Arson cocked his head towards the armored man who had acknowledged Arson, but before Arson would reply which didn’t matter for he did not understood what Malum meant. Lighting erupted out of Malum’s fingertips which for Arson seemed like magic. As the lighting was coming towards Arson, his instincts took over him as he put his lightsabers in front of him. As the lighting met his weapon, it absorbed most of Malum’s unnatural assault. However it blew Arson off from his feet, taking him back several feet.
Quickly Arson jumped back to his feet. The winged man abilities were incredible, but this, this strange armored man was far beyond what he could ever imagine. Arson went to a Vaapad stance as he stared at his foe. “Cain.” Arson mumbled to himself. It would be the only explanation. This was the perfect time to prove himself before him. Should he fail… meant death.
Arson leaped forward, unaware that his rage was fueling him to run faster through the force. He put all his anger into strength. As he ran he extended his lightsabers away from him crouching low. As he neared Malum whom Arson mistaken as Lord Cain, he leaped above him with the assistance of the force. Swiftly he descended towards Malum, putting his lightsaber in front of him and with his right attacked vertically followed by his other lightsaber.

Lightning. It was a rudimentary attack, even for the most basic of Sith hopefuls, and a power that was slightly below a Dark Lord's true abilities. Even so, it was an impressive display, but more bark than bite to any being with even a basic grasp of the Force. So it came as no great shock to Malum when his attack had failed to even connect with its intended target. Instead, the pallid blue energy had done nothing more but unbalance his foe for a moment before he came rushing back into the attack.
Lord Malum heard the mistaken identity as it was mumbled by Arson before his attack. Cain. Inwardly, the Dark Lord had to let out an amused chuckle. If only he possessed a modicum of power that Lord Cain did.
As the Sith Lord focused himself into his counter attack, he could sense Arson's rage. It was pouring off of the boy as easily as sweat would from a runner, fueling his rushing attack as he moved into a vertical leap only feet in front of him. Lord Malum, who had yet to even activate his own saber to defend himself, stood his ground and tracked Arson through his leap, allowing him to descend from the jump with his sabers poised to strike.
And that was when Malum finally made his own move. With a quick flick of his wrist, the Dark Lord's own blade snapped to life with an audible hiss, the blue blade of the saber extending to full length as Lord Malum spun the hilt around into the Shien position and used the lightsaber blade to guard his face against Arson's own assault. As their blades met in mid air, Malum's free hand moved forward with lightning speed and projected a wall of invisible energy aimed directly at Arson's chest.
Assuming Malum had timed all of his maneuvers correctly, Arson would have little room to guard himself against the blow from the Force, and would be propelled away from the Dark Lord with ease.

"Lets sit brother, watch the spectacle unfold before us, try and learn from it. This is a perfect chance to study some real saber combat, not that old stuff Father used to teach us-Then again you were never one much for weapons were you?" glimpses of a time long since lost in the steam of continual life that time was flashed before Lucifer for only an instant as he saw what he was, Noctis was, in front of their home with a humble middle aged man speaking, however no sound filtered from his mouth. After he finished he took a low fighting pose with a wooden blade as the younger version of who Lucifer had to assume was himself followed in toe.
The swords met with a spark of burning light as the scene morphed back into the now Malum's lightning having been caught by the intruders blade sending him to the ground. A voice was speaking his name over and over, upon the short inspection Lucfer found Noctis standing facing him trying to snap him out of the past.
"Lu, Lu, Lu, finally. now why not pull us over a log or somethin' i hate standin'." He did as asked taking the moment to clear his foggy head of the smokey imagines that coursed through his skull. One of the large trees Lucifer launched at Arson proved to be the perfect item as he rolled it over with a flick the force summoning it them. Sitting first Noctis pointed ahead directing Lucifer to also look.
"Now, pay attention."

Arson expected from Malum to block his attack but when Malum began to move his free hand, he was quick to assume he would his mysterious abilities. The problem was Arson had no way of defending himself of such attacks. Swiftly he tried to kick Malum which he was in range but was to late. Arson was propelled away from Malum. To make matters worse, instead of Malum designated attack on Arson chest, the force that Malum lashed out hit Arson's injured leg.
As Arson fell to the ground, he looked up at Malum. Arson was breathing hard now but was not near to being exhausted. Slowly Arson got up, slouching due to his wounded leg. He again took his Vaapad stance. He wasn't going to give up however he wasn't foolish enough to just charge at him again.
Arson needed to think. Time wasn't on his side and he was too far away to strike at Malum which was dangerous as Malum could simply continue to use his powers. There was only one realistic option. Arson stood up as straight as he can and deactivated his lightsabers. "To continue on would be foolish of me...Lord Cain." Arson said still breathing deeply.

As expected, Lord Malum had timed his counter strike perfectly with Arson's movements, launching him far enough away to crush any further attempts at a close range attack. As Arson hit the ground and skidded to a halt, Malum had begun making his advance on his wounded opponent, fully intending to finish him off.
But Arson showed no signs of aggression. Instead, he stood under his own power, fighting past the pain of his wounds to address the Dark Lord.
"To continue on would be foolish of me...Lord Cain."
Malum stopped in mid stride as Arson spoke, referring to him as Cain once again as he deactivated his sabers. The Sith Lord, still anticipating that Arson was capable of a surprise counter attack, kept his saber ignited as he finally corrected the discrepancy.
"I am not Lord Cain. Were I the Emperor, you would have been dead long ago." Retracting his blade finally, yet still holding a firm grip on the hilt for security reasons, Malum continued, "but I see you are a smart boy. Surrendering is your only option, and you rightly accepted it."
Lucifer seemed to have some competition now in terms of Apprenticeship and a future with the Sith. Both of these men seemed unusually powerful with the Force, Lucifer more so than Arson. But they both had a raw, untapped potential in them waiting to be unleashed. Time would be the ultimate judge and test of their character, however. Predicting a potential victor at this early stage was a foolhardy choice to make.
"What is it you seek here, boy?" Malum asked, "if it is an audience with the Emperor you seek, I can arrange it. Otherwise, my time is valuable and you would do well not to waste it."

Malum had corrected Arson mistake. He tried hard not to look surprise. Anazyling the new information considering Malum's offer. He could take the offer of meeting Cain but it probably wouldn't be the best choice due to Arson inability to prove himself with such mysterious powers. The other however seemed more logical and convenient.
"I seek power. And it seems I have found it." Arson said. He wanted to present himself properly with a bow but he didn't want Malum to mistake as an attempt to rest his wounds so he remained standing. "I, Arson Zor offer my service as an Apprentice. My previous tutorship has ended. I am disciplined yet eager. Strong yet limited. As an apprentice I will grow stronger and as a result so will you Lord...." Arson tried to show his skills but didn't finish his sentence as he was unaware of his possible new master's name.

Arson introduced himself as a willing Apprentice to the Dark Lord, claiming that he had found the power he sought without the need to meet with Lord Cain. The thought brought a satisfied smirk to Malum's features beneath his helm. Arson was so eager, and so determined to prove his worth. He just may be worth taking from this world, if only for unleashing his true potential on the unsuspecting foes of the Empire as a deadly pawn.
"I, Arson Zor offer my service as an Apprentice. My previous tutorship has ended. I am disciplined yet eager. Strong yet limited. As an apprentice I will grow stronger and as a result so will you Lord...."
The Sith Lord noted the pause in Arson's words, realizing that they had never introduced themselves. Of course, they hadn't had much chance as their prior situation was not the place to do it. Still, Malum was not one for formalities and wished to be gone from this world as quickly as possible.
"Lord Malum," he interjected, fitting the words in for Arson. "If it is power over the Dark Side that you seek, then I can teach you.... If you are strong enough to survive of course."
Placing his saber hilt back at its place on his hip, Malum raised a hand to his comm and signaled the fleet. "Captain Shelvey."
There was a momentary pause before her familiar voice responded over the channel. "Yes, sir?""
"Prepare to deploy the fleet upon my return. I am finished here."
"Understood, sir."
Glancing back to his newly acquired Apprentices, Lord Malum couldn't help but wonder how these two would come to aid in the fight against the Empire's enemies. Perhaps they would prove to be valuable tools to be used on more than simple assignments. Perhaps, just perhaps, they could prove useful enough to fulfill some of the most challenging tasks. No matter what the case was, their destinies had yet to be decided. And only they could do it.
Without a word, the Dark Lord moved confidently past Lucifer and Arson, making his way back to the shuttle as Lucifer followed close behind. Malum anticipated Arson to follow as well, given his determination to learn the true nature of power through the Dark Side.

Lucifer sat next to Noctis witnessing the extravaganza before hand play out, Arson submitting and plugging an apprenticeship, Malum accepting that offer, only not in so many words, the dark lord turned sharply and with a snap as he started back to the shuttle without a word to Lucifer. unneeding of the guidance to simply clamber abord the transport he hopped off the log and followed, again a good three paces to his left.
They moved into the shuttle without incident Lucifer leaving space for an unseen Noctis to take a place aside him, the man leaning in to speak to his brother even though their converses went unheard to the rest of the room, or at least one part of them.
"This Zor fellow could pose a threat to us, Lu, we gotta be rid of him." Lucifer was tempted to reply but had become more aware of the situation between the two, and therefore kept his dismissal to himself. Lucifer knew the same result would be gained by simply out doing Zor at every chance, no need to murder the man.

Arson followed Lord Malum and his Competition, the winged man. He glanced down on his right leg and noticed it was bleeding. Arson however made so attempt to fix it. When they entered the shuttle Arson stood instead of sitting. He wondered what had happened to Malum's men. Arson quickly assume they were already in the shuttle. He then took a quick glimple to the winged man to study him. Strangely the winged man kept twitching his eyes on one of his sides. Arson wondered why.

OOC: Oops. Forgot about those troops. BIC: As Lord Malum boarded the shuttle with his new found Apprentices well in stride, the squad of soldiers who had been deployed earlier to seek out Arson made a frantic dash back to the shuttle, only to be greeted by the unpleasant glare of the Dark Lord as they managed to clamber aboard the transport, all of them averting their gaze away from the Sith's stare as they took their seats. A short moment later, the shuttle's hatch was sealed and pressurized against the vacuum of space as the vessel shuddered a bit upon its take off, easily making the short trip back into orbit to join up with the fleet. Once docked with the Manticore, Lord Malum found a welcoming committee had been dispatched to receive him. A boarding party headed by Rain herself, and accompanied by a strange new arrival to the ship. Towering well over the other men of the Imperial honor guard was the Zante representative, Ein Kreiger Leibe Furalle, his silver colored armor gleaming beneath the harsh lights of the hangar bay. "Sir, this is Ein Kreiger Leibe Furalle, representative of the Zante people. He has arrive seeking an alliance with the Empire." Rain spoke up, introducing the two parties to one another. "Zante.." Lord Malum mused quietly to himself. He had never quite heard of them before, and upon first glance they reminded him of the Skirran. Only these Zante seemed slightly taller and muscular in build. "You seek an alliance with the Empire? What do you intend to offer us in exchange for this alliance?" Malum asked, forced to peer up at the Zante diplomat in order to meet him eye to eye. He was surprised to say the least, but was not one to turn a potential ally away when they showed themselves as eager to join the Imperial cause. As Rain watched the meeting for the first time between Janus and Kreiger, she felt relieved that this Imperial/Zante cooperation was not a part of some secret plot Janus had orchestrated without her knowing it. However, as she watched on, Lieutenant Harkness stepped swiftly up to her side, tapping her lightly on the shoulder and whispering into her ear. The Captain nodded at the report and waved Harkness off to his duty. "Sir, it seems the additional forces you have requested have arrived. Shall I see to their organization?" Rain asked, confidently interjecting herself into Janus' meeting with Kreiger. She was one of the few officers in the Empire he allowed to do that. Malum nodded, dismissing Rain to oversee their preparations. "Yes, Captain. See to it that every ship is ready to make the jump to Taris on my command." "As you wish, sir." Rain bowed respectfully to the order and took her leave from the hangar.

Krieger moved to and fro in the very... light artificial gravity of the Manticore, humans... did they like the almost weightless feeling of what, to the Zante whom had known much greater pressure from his planet, and their vessels, felt like nothing, he thought he could almost fly on this deck, but perhaps humans with their frail little body's couldn't stand much more, perhaps this was their norm.
The moment he had been awaiting was finally at hand, reports indicated a shuttle docking with the hanger which could only mean this "Lord Malum." Would soon be in his wake to open a true dialog with the empire. He contemplated if Lord Malum was what all humans' referred to him as, the very last thing Krieger wanted was to come off as disrespectful. However the time for thoughts had passed as the vessel landed releasing its payload of common foot soldiers and slightly more unusual ones, Krieger managing to spot a dirty clothed short winged man moving out and heading for the lift, seemingly retiring for the day.
"Sir, this is Ein Kreiger Leibe Furalle, representative of the Zante people. He has arrive seeking an alliance with the Empire." Her words snapped him from the spectacle as Krieger turned his inflamed blue Zante eyes onto this Lord Malum for the first time. Much shorter then he expected the man did ring of a higher power as both his unspoken presence sent an unusual chill down the spinal cord of Krieger, the sensation one he had experienced only one other time in notable memory. And his physical one as his dark clad armor suggested much more then one could process in a moments thought.
"You seek an alliance with the Empire? What do you intend to offer us in exchange for this alliance?"
"directly to the point, Lord Malum, i see. We, the Zante, want to help secure peace universally, for all the galaxy's worlds. To that end my superiors have researched several of the major powers in play and have come to an unquestionable decision on who is the best faction to usher in such an era of peace. To that end i am allowed to utilize our Engineers, our ships, our bodies, and our blades to the cause What i offer is perhaps a technology not quite your own, however from what i have seen we share similar advancements in regard to propulsion systems, and even projectiles. but a Zante is not just a warrior, we are builders."
A cold fear struck him for a moment as he contemplated the avenues that would be bore if he failed his assignment, but quickly Krieger suppressed such thoughts and awaited the answer of Malum's in silence.

Lord Malum listened intently to Kreiger as he offered the aid of his people to the Empire. As soldiers, as builders, as weapons designers. It all sounded very enticing to the Dark Lord. The Skirran had thus far proven to be a potent race to have under the Empire's jurisdiction, but the Zante were shaping up to certainly be an excellent addition to this entire endeavor. With them and the Skirran working for the Empire, combined with the power of the Dark Side in the hands of the Emperor, the Empire's enemies would soon discover a new definition of fear.
However, Malum did now wish to play as an eager party willing to accept whatever help managed to find its way to him. to do such was to portray the Empire as weak and in need of assistance. Responding to Kreiger with a flat tone, Malum played his interest only so far.
"It seems your people would make a fine addition to the Empire. Especially with all you have offered to give us in exchange." Taking a moment to ponder the Zante's offer further, the Dark Lord continued, "Perhaps we should discuss the terms of this alliance in a setting more suited to such clandestine activities." Malum suggested.
"My private quarters on the bridge are quite secure, I assure you. We could continue our discussion there if you wish."
"Sir, the fleet is in order and await your commands." Rain's voice interrupted over the comm in Malum's helm.
"Thank you, Captain. Take us out."
"Yes, sir."
Glancing back to Kreiger as Rain's voice vanished from the channel, the Dark Lord regarded the Zante with anticipation. "If your people are as strong as you claim, then perhaps a small field test is in order to prove that. I will begin assaulting an enemy planet shortly as part of the Imperial war effort. You and your warriors are welcomed to join in the attack. If not, well.... I suggest you contact your superiors and inform them of your failure to secure an alliance with the Empire."
With that, Malum left Kreiger to think over their meeting. But with the fleet preparing to move at any moment, his choice would have to be made quickly. And something in the Sith Lord's senses told him that Kreiger would not abandon his mission so easily.

Krieger stood not more then five feet away from the dark lord both surely sizing the other up, Krieger could detect a darker more menacing presence in the hanger then before, one did not need the force to feel it, he contemplated it second hand while devoting his utmost amount of attention to Malum, and by extension his mission.
"It seems your people would make a fine addition to the Empire. Especially with all you have offered to give us in exchange. "Perhaps we should discuss the terms of this alliance in a setting more suited to such clandestine activities."
Those words were exactly what he wanted to hear, it implied that not only did Malum have an interest in the offer, but also it was a serious and genuine one. His head lowered without the Zante realizing it as he slowly thought over the offer.
"My private quarters on the bridge are quite secure, I assure you. We could continue our discussion there if you wish."
Krieger already knew that this had to be done, and therefore would take up the offer without a second thought in regard to it, he did however need to message the home vessel with the info and therefore quickly rushed into the transport sending out the automated response readied for just this situation, something about his lady's behavior suggested she knew this would be the outcome and had it prepared, Krieger would not have time to think over this fact as he turned and stalked toward the elevator.
"At ease warriors, we will remain here for the time being." He called out addressing his men as the hyperspace countdown ticked away to its final seconds as he boarded the lift with Malum it reaching zero and the ships launching into Hyperspace as the elevator began its ascension.
"So lets barter, Lord Malum."

Covenant flagship, Candesseri: high orbit over Lehon:
"Adjutant, you have much explaining to do."
The Adjutant, summoned by the highest powers of his people, stood before the Covenant Emissary, Judicator Sedriss. A stern being, even by Skirran standards, Sedriss had been dispatched by the Council to provide oversight on the Adjutant's operations. Many years had passed since the Skirran first began integrating into society within this galaxy, and at first the use of Covenant resources to mend ties with any extragalactic species was deemed a necessary and worthwhile expenditure. But now, the time had come to reconcile these bonds and account for their followers.
"Honorable Judicator, I can assure you that...."
Sedriss threw up a hand, stopping the Adjutant cold in mid sentence. "I will deign what can be assured here, Adjutant. The Council has tolerated your demands to this point, and has respected your leadership with nearly infinite patience as they always have. But now you must answer for your actions."
The room fell strangely silent for several moments, and the Adjutant felt as if though a thousand eyes were gazing at him, judging him, scrutinizing every detail of him. In truth, it was merely the piercing stare of a Judicator that had set his mind ill at ease. There was an inherent reason Judicators were granted a seat on the Council, and the Adjutant was keenly aware of this; perhaps more than most.
Next to the Judicator, Praetor Aeris offered her silent gaze, though she seemed far softer than her contemporary. Having known her for many decades, the Adjutant always held her opinion in high regard, and often lamented that her skills as a warrior were somewhat stifled by Sedriss and his own outmoded adherence to tradition. Times were indeed changing for the Skirran, and none knew this better than the Praetors. Serving as instruments of the Council, and extensions of their will, they were often among the first to bare witness to the ever shifting universe surrounding them.
Sedriss shifted in his seat slightly as he eyed the Adjutant with suspicion. "We have received your reports through the years. "Humans", an Empire, creatures with supernatural powers, war, famine, pestilence, death on scales not even the Drinlos were able to inflict on our species when we were still but a fledgling child. The list is nearly endless. Why do you deem it necessary for the Covenant to extend its hand to these creatures when it appears so painfully obvious that they are intent on destroying themselves?"
"Do not be so quick to dismiss them, Judicator. Though they appear insignificant, these "humans" have come to dominate this galaxy, just as we have attained mastery over our own domain."
"But we were forged in the fires of war, Adjutant. Humans appear as little more than babies with toys, lacking the capacity to understand the good that can arise from their gifts. Yet they squander them."
"Were we so different at first, honorable Judicator?" The Adjutant said, bowing his head slightly at the end of his remark to show his respect for the offices of the Council.
"The Adjutant speaks the truth, Sedriss," Aeris chimed in. "Our people have a long and painful history of violence and bloodshed. Our earliest days before the wisdom of the Councils arrived to guide us through the darkness were fraught with battles pitting brother against brother. At the very least we should endeavor to educate these humans so that they may have the same chance we did."
Sedriss shifted a thoughtful gaze between the Praetor and the Adjutant. They were indeed correct, but humanity seemed raw to the Judicator. If the reports they had received were anywhere near as accurate now as they were when they had first reviewed them, chaining the ravenous hearts of man would not be an easy undertaking. Still, he was a representative of the Council of Harmony, presiding over what is supposed to be the golden era of their people. They would look to him for guidance, and he must oblige them by the Council's own will.
"Tell me then, Adjutant, what hopes do you have of taming the wild nature of man? You very presence on this planet alone speaks to their essence. You would agree to forge them weapons of war to broker peace? If ever there was a definition of irony, this is it." Sedriss leaned back in his seat, staring curiously at the Adjutant.
"Cannot peace be won by the tip of the spear, Judicator?" The Adjutant replied, "the Council entrusted me to bring forth the will of the Covenant into this galaxy, to spread our message and share our knowledge with its inhabitants. I have made a calculated decision that if it is man's nature to seek his own destruction, then arming one side of the divide would hasten the arrival of peace."
"So you promote their thirst for blood to appeal to their deeper desire for peace? The world of humanity is short, Ajdutant. They do not have the luxury of centuries as we do. Our people may settle comfortably into one facet for millennia, yet man cannot. What would prevent others from rising up after you have won your "peace"?"
"That is why I feel the Covenant's intervention here is prudent. We subdued the Huragok and Kig-Yar, fended off the Drinlos and defeated the trials of time itself. Imagine what we could do for humanity were they to fall beneath our jurisdiction."
Sedriss was not entirely sold on the notions presented to him by the Adjutant. The attempt to barter for peace with a cudgel in hand did not present the most suitable picture of a solution for the Judicator.
"What this galaxy lacks in civility, it more than provides in resources. If nothing else, we will use the humans as we have so many others to further the Covenant's goals. But I truly hope that is not the case, they could offer us just as much in return."
The Judicator glanced to Aeris, seeking her opinion. And when she gently nodded in favor of the Adjutant, Sedriss appeared to let his armor drop for once. In spite of his traditionalist ways, he could not deny the tides of change rolling in on the Skirran. They must adapt if they hoped to stay afloat.
"Very well, Adjutant. You may continue your work here. I shall travel to meet with some of these humans and gain first hand experience for myself." He narrowed his gaze on the Adjutant as he leaned forward slightly in his seat, "if I were you, I would not expect the Council to be as open as I was here today. The tides may be shifting here, but Shadoon is once again eclipsed by the specter of war. The Council may well vote to abandon these creatures to their fate."
The news of impending war again in their own galaxy struck the Adjutant immediately, and underscored just how long it had been since he had made direct contact with the Council. "War, Judicator? Who? Is it the Huragok, perhaps the Kig-Yar?"
Sedriss became more sullen and soft spoken now, "we do not know. Several of our scouts have disappeared attempting to answer distress signals on the very fringe of the Shryke Abyssal. We have brave soldiers stationed in those regions, yet without the scouts return, we have not been able to ascertain the entire scope of events."
The Adjutant thought the word the moment the Judicator finished his sentence, only to be sternly interrupted.
